Sorry for the new thread and crap name but i needed to start one oi how are you doing good luck xxx

I have fallen off the face of MN for a week or so and have loadsss to catch up on! I have been busy doing coursework and seriously nesting!!

PGP is awful, to the point of making me cry, finally got a pyshio app, but not for another 2 weeks :( doesnt seem much point. OH continues not to even attempt a massage if i ask and rolls his eyes.

Been having really bad shooting pains that take my breath away, but seems as though baby is head down (and very low) im guessing its a nerve he is on.

Very strange and TMI... but earlier (when i went to the toilet) i could feel what felt like the head bulging on the outside, through my lady garden lol... freaked me out!!

Good luck oi !! Fingers crossed

tye glad you took the sick advice!!

Evening all. A productive day over at casa pully with much DIY progress plus hospital bag very nearly packed. Now for a nice cosy with DP on sofa, along with a box of after eights, yum!

Oi so glad to hear you're home, make sure you take it easy now

mrsbuggy your sausage casserole sounds delish, would love to get the recipe if you have time to post it

Darcies a friend recommended lansinoh as the best nipple cream so that's what I'm trying. Sure others on here will be able to give more suggestions/ advice

Ahh all your talk of lovely wine! I miss my Sauvignon blanc/ Rioja/ champers so much at the mo, could murder a glass right now. Maybe will treat self tomorrow to a teeny glass of bubbles as it's my birthday - would be rude not to methinks?!!!!!

Bonne soirée x

sevensevenseven · 05/11/2011 20:24

I'm looking forward to a heavily oaked rioja, does anyone else find that it just doesn't taste the same when they're pregnant though? even if I wanted to drink when I'm pregnant I just don't enjoy it.

oi glad to hear that your home, that bath must have been bliss!

pully happy birthday for tomorrow!

I was planning on wrapping Christmas presents tonight but I'm suffering from heartburn so chilling on the sofa watching x-factor instead.

OiMissus · 05/11/2011 20:25

My MW also recommended Lansinoh, she said its expensive, but you'd be wasting your money on anything else.
Oh and three midwives complemented me on how soft my skin was on my tum. And they must know as they spend every day feeling tums. Thanks to my lovely Clarins body tonic!
Have a fab birthday tomorrow pully! sparklers tonight, sparkly tomorrow - it'd be rude not to! Grin

LittleMissFlustered · 05/11/2011 20:26

Oi I had completely missed that you've escaped. Good show old chap!

I'm about to give the bath a swish out with dettol then heading to bed to watch numpties burn money for an hour or so:o I may even have horlicks because I'm in a devilish moodWink

I have never needed nipple cream, but have heard good stuff about lansinoh. The very dedicated lentil weavery types I know at a peer support group tend toward things fermented from all sorts of weird and wonderful stuff that never costs less than £7 for a miniature pot, but the rest of them sing loud about the contents of the yellow tube:o

KateM77 · 05/11/2011 21:14

Went out to the fireworks display at our village pub earlier. It's quite a big, popular event. They charge entry and for BBQ and all proceeds go to the tiny village school. Very proud of DD who was not in the least bit scared and just shouted bang and clapped her hands :)

Managed to lift her all wrong when we got home though and pulled all underneath my bump. VERY painful. I then managed to twist my knee when trying to get back up off the floor, and it popped right out and back in again. Fortunately pain in both bump and knee subsided pretty quickly and baby has been as active as ever. Heading for an early night now and hoping for a bit more sleep than recent nights!

KateM77 · 05/11/2011 21:14

Oh, and I meant to say I'm pleased to hear you're home Oi. I bet that bath was bliss!

HoneyLovesCake · 05/11/2011 21:48

You can get Lansinoh on prescription, not sure if you have to wait until LO's born though...I was going to ask MW at next appt. I'm not paying £10 for it if I can get it free. :)

sevensevenseven · 05/11/2011 22:05

Hope you're ok now kate.

Make sure you let us all know honey.

msbuggywinkle · 05/11/2011 22:08

Lansinoh is fabulous, obviously none of us are going to have cracked nipples, however, it really does speed healing. If we fancy being extra lentil weavers, raw mashed papaya is ace, due to the high vitamin e content. Also, expressing some milk and letting it air dry on the nips can be good too.

oi great that you're home!

pully happy birthday! There isn't really a recipe as such, it basically consists of throwing browned sausages, whatever veg I have, lots of garlic, pepper and rosemary into the slow cooker with a jar of passata and lentils and letting it cook. It is lush though, we had it with mash in the garden this evening round the fire watching everyone else's fireworks!

DD2 was very funny, copying the noises and demanding more fireworks. We had sparklers too which impressed the DDs, DP was very funny dancing round the garden waving them Grin

LittleMissFlustered · 05/11/2011 22:13

I think you would have to prove an actual need rather than a perceived possible need in order to get a 'script. If that makes sense? I was once in the queue to book in at the doctors and the woman in front of me was trying to order a prescription for bum cream (possible sudocrem, not sure), bonjella and calpol all at the same time because she didn't have any and thought she might need some at some point. The was told to bugger off until she could give a sensible reason for needing things. Ironically, all are available on prescription/minor ailments as I found out when I took my son in to see the pharmacist when he decided to be allergic to teething for a few weeks! >_< I declined the sudocrem though, connotrane(sp) was more effective at that point, with metanium in reserve in case of dire emergencies! Watch out for metanium if you try it though. Primrose coloured cement it is, doesn't wash off, ever!

Sorry, tangent. Might be running on empty. I'm supposed to be asleep but neither of my hips are feeling cooperative this evening. I may go get my laptop out and see if I can be bothered to sync my iPhone to my music. Had it a few weeks now and I've still not bothered:)

mopsytop · 05/11/2011 22:14

Sounds yum msbuggy. Mine is basically sauteed onions and browned sausages, tinned tomatoes, salt and pepper, and whatever beans are handy, haricot whatever. I usually simmer that on hob for a while, then throw it in a casserole, top with mash and bake. Yum!

LittleMissFlustered · 05/11/2011 22:18

msb Have you tried cowboy casserole? Browned sausages, a can of beans, a can of tomatoes, kidney beans of you're feeling brave then whatever else you fancy to bulk it out (onion and peppers can work nicely, dash of chilli etc.) simmer it for a bit until it looks done/the children are claiming their throats have been cut and then serve with mash or rice?

aethelfleda · 05/11/2011 23:00

arg, Widget has jammed his bum right up against my ribs on the right. Men.

Great firework display with the DDs tonight - huge bangs and bonfire, they loved it (it's run by the local carboot farm, and they get relatives who run a funfair on site too so lots of flashy stuff and ghost train/funhouse etc). Best thing is the reasonable prices for everything so you get a good night out without feeling ripped off.

and now to bed, sleep well chaps (well, we can hope!)

BeeMyBaby · 06/11/2011 04:04

I used lasinoh last time and ended up with incredibly painful nipple thrush - no idea if it contributed to it or not (was probably just DD's horrendous latch), but I will be trying to go without if possible this time.

DarciesmumandBump2 · 06/11/2011 08:11

Morning ladies,
Will ask my GP about the cream Smile
I never used teething gel with DD always Ashton & Parsons powder - worked wonders, so will be using it again.

Has anyone else got what feels like a sore pubic bone? When I stand or walk, theres pressure and really sore Sad I think it's the head descending and engaging, either that or baby enjoys head butting me down there.

bennybenbear · 06/11/2011 08:30

Morning all.
Yep I've got really bad pain on my pubic bone, feels like I've been kicked there!
Also got a sore throat and tickly cough so sleep is even harder and feel v sorry for myself!
I'm dreading work 2mrw as I approached my line manager about using leave and working from home to go down to three days a week for the last few weeks. Was planning on working to 2nd Dec when due on 5th but always said to HR and my line manager that I may need to leave the week before. I also said fri that I may leave early and my line manager has said basically I can't as I haven't given enough notice and that I can't work from home. The rest of the organisation can it's just our department who are backwards! Am so annoyed and really don't feel supported so going to bring it up tomorrow but not sure how to. The main reason I've taken Fridays off is so I can do pregnancy yoga but really I should be entitled to paid time off for this due to PGP! Do u think I should push it?!
Sorry for the Sunday morning rant! Been awake two nights stressing about it now!

figgygal · 06/11/2011 08:45

Benny can you go off sick if you feel you need the time and they not helping you? Once you are within 4 wks of ur due date they can trigger your mat leave if you are off sick due to your pregnancy though that might not suit you if you just looking to drop hours or have hols to take.

bennybenbear · 06/11/2011 09:10

Am thinking of doing that in the lady week figgy for sure. May take a few non pregnancy related days if this cough gets worse too! I'm just do annoyed as I've always worked longer hours with no reward, I've sorted out recruitment of cover and this is the thanks I get. My line manager has a real problem with me so is using this as a brilliant way to get to me and paint me in a bad light. I really want to pursue this with HR but if I do I know he'll make things v difficult while I'm off so I come back to a nightmare! Grrr!

bennybenbear · 06/11/2011 09:11

*last week not lady blimin phone!

msbuggywinkle · 06/11/2011 09:14

darcies I get that pain sometimes, it's definitely when she moves lower. She tends to bounce up again after a few minutes though.

Realised this morning that I'm term in three weeks, don't feel at all ready! Not that I can think of anything we need to do or buy, I just don't feel as though we've done very much.

sevensevenseven · 06/11/2011 09:45

msbuggy that's a very scary thought, especially as we've both not made it that far previously!

darcies I also experience it along with major pressure, thankfully she's not normally engaged for more than a couple of hours at a time at the moment.

We've finally decided that she's going to be Eva Rose.

bennybenbear · 06/11/2011 09:51

Love that name seven!

msbuggywinkle · 06/11/2011 09:56

Gorgeous name seven I especially love Rose, but a friend nabbed it before I could!

Have I mentioned what our new DD is called? Anyway, she's Miranda Marjorie Erica, Marjorie for DP's Nana, Erica for my Grandad.

figgygal · 06/11/2011 10:03

Can I jump in with names too DH needs him to have 3 initials before surname for when he opens the batting for England (need a rolly eye smiley) so he's either going to be:

Alexander james McMillan (Alex)
Alistair james McMillan (Ali)
Jonathan James McMillan (johnny)

James was both my GFs name while McMillan is a family name. If had had a girl would have named her after my gran who died a couple years ago but as it's a boy using her surname instead.

Think will make actual decision on day.

Mmmmcheese · 06/11/2011 10:15

I like alistair - its quite unusual nowadays and ali is a nice shortening. We have decided on our girls name but not telling!

I had a bad nigt, only a few hours sleep as had painful BH all nigt. Seem to have eased now though. Hang on a bit longer DD! 33 + 2 today, really want to get to at least 34, preferably 35.

msbuggy i also feel totally unprepared, mentally and otherwise! I think probably a lot to do with the fact that we've hardly bought anything for DD as we have most stuf already for DS. Just neednto buy new matresses and get double pushchair deliveed. Been lent all the girly clothes so not bought a single item ofnclothing for her!

Does anyone else have split stomach muscles? My stomach isnpoking outnat the top of my bump. Going to post on the pregnancy board as well to see if anyone has any suggestions.
