Last thread was full so thought I would just start this one off - hope you don't mind as I know I've not been a regular but god forbid you guys having nowhere to chat ;)

Right, caz what's happening, I am stalking you all over the shop and need more news :)

OP posts:

neverinamillionyears · 28/10/2011 23:06

just really pleased that bubs has turned for you :)

twojacks welcome to our world Jacob

Caliphora · 29/10/2011 00:48

Hooray for turning babies!

Who just announced on facebook? The next thread should be called "Nov babies - there may be some left still"!

Abigail is thriving, all tests but one are back all clear, and we can go home tomorrow if the last culture comes back fine!

I can't wait to 'start over'. My mum has scrubbed the house top to bottom for me :)

pandia · 29/10/2011 02:29

Cali so great to hear you sounding better and happier. Hooray for going home with Abigail (and lovely mums!)

Congrats twojacks! Wonderful news. Also just saw announcement on FB but not totally sure who it is. Any more babies coming in oct?!

Just I'm awake with splitting migraine too Sad thought they had gone away about wk 16 but suddenly back with a vengeance. So painful.

Coolsticks · 29/10/2011 06:06

Moosey Moo & Merlioness- Thanks for the warm welcome, I'm out in Texas. Baby due on 7/11

Cep- Many thanks, still praying for early delivery and walking up and down the stairs. Tried 40 mins of zumba which made everyone else fall over themselves with laughter except bump who decided a deep snooze was the best way of coping with my madness! Wink

Envying all you ladies that have birthed already and hoping you and babies are doing well!

voodoomunkee · 29/10/2011 06:41

Morning all. Am not on the fb group and still here so definitely not me!
Good news about getting home hopefully Cali and your lovely mum, they're fab aren't they and guess what, we get to do that for our dd's eek!
Coolsticks are you originally from Texas?
Well am up with agonising back ache. Nothing exciting I dont think, just sciatica. Definitely more crampy and the hiccups bubs keeps getting I can feel erm in my bum! So she is definitely heading the right way! Praying something happens soon, tired of being pg and would love an Oct baby! Doubtful looking though.
Persuaded OH am sick and it's time to dtd with intent. Which is interesting. However I've tried spicy food, hot bath etc with it and no effect! Going to attempt a walk if the back eases up and buy some raspberry leaf tea and clary sage perhaps.
Right off to crawl to the settee and try and find something on the sky planner to keep me entertained! Will check back for another announcement!

cep · 29/10/2011 07:09

It was Hils74 don't forget there's a list in docs of due dates etc. which reminds me if you're new to the fb group don't forget to add yourself. And you mummy's don't forget to make your announcements on the other doc.
hils congratulations and a lovely name.

Dh has a gig tonight, so after then i have the all clear to go into labour, which probably means i won't and i'll be late. Grin

Can i ask your opinion ladies? we have 2 names for girls, 1 i prefer 1 dh prefers, can you lovely ladies let me know what you think. Hollie or Alexis. Middle name is likely to be Annie after my gran, and it goes with both. I quite like Hollie but seems like it should be a december name. Confused

voodoomunkee · 29/10/2011 07:32

Awww congrats hils!
Cep I like both your names. I know what you mean about Hollie being December but I like the spelling and if she's here in nov then I think that's a perfectly acceptable compromise to Dec! I like Alexis too but my ds is Alex so am biased probably! I wouldn't worry too much as when she is finally here then you may both just look at her and go 'oh she's a ....'

KellyKettle · 29/10/2011 08:22

I saw the FB anouncement. Congratulations Hils

CEP I love Hollie. It was on our list of names. I'd use it at anytime of year, it's lovely.

KellyKettle · 29/10/2011 08:23

Cali glad Abigail is doing well and hope you're home to your sparkling house today Smile

alicat10 · 29/10/2011 09:14

CEP I like both & know a Holly born in April & didn't even cross my mind there could be an Xmas connection. I agree, wait to meet her - I was sure DS would be Sam but when I met him he wasn't!

Hope you get home Cali

Merlioness · 29/10/2011 10:14

Congratulations Hils!
Cep I love Alexis, but we are stuck with names, but have decided on a middle name too. So we are waiting to meet him with our shortlist :).
cali I am so glad that you and Abigail sound better. Fingers crossed she'll be home soon

MamaALaMode · 29/10/2011 11:39

how do we join the FB group? what's the name of it?

am bit allergic to names connected to the time of year - my name means child of christmas, but my birthday is June 26th!!! couldn't get much further away!! - not that it bothers me, but i have known a few women who've grown up with names relating to the time of year they were born in & they do not like it!!!! so, i'm thinking Hollie in November is just fine as it's far enough away from Xmas, Alexis is cool too - reminds me Dynasty.

Merlioness · 29/10/2011 11:41

Mama Message cep ypur Facebook name and she will add you. It's a secret group :)

MamaALaMode · 29/10/2011 12:15

thanks! done x

voodoomunkee · 29/10/2011 13:45

Mama that's my birthday too!

MamaALaMode · 29/10/2011 13:54

yey!! birthday mates!! :)

voodoomunkee · 29/10/2011 14:00

You have the same due date too I think. 8th Nov?

Caliphora · 29/10/2011 14:21

We're home - treading carefully together to make sure we get it all right!

Names I love Alexis! Hollie is sweet, too, but Alexis is a name I'd pick - it makes me think of tall, confident women!

Tjuice · 29/10/2011 14:24

I just bought a belly band on Ebay - anyone have any experience of them? Its just a girdle I guess...

cep - I LOVE hollie - such a pretty name. I think we are focussing in on Rosie Mae, as preferred name (DH mother plus my great auntie) but we also liked Billie and Billie Mae and Maisie. I like the danish name Matilda too and the Basque name Amaya.

MamaALaMode · 29/10/2011 14:36

congrats, cali good luck xxxxx

voodoo, no, I'm due the 1st, but i think i'll be a few days "late," - i just really don't want the 31/10 for her birthday... a redheaded hallow'een girl??? she'll be given the witch label for life, won't she?? :( (I'm assuming & hoping she'll be a redhead as I am & there's some of the gene in my boyfriend's family... )

tjuice keep us posted on the belly band - i've no experience of them, but if they help a girl get back into shape/support stretched out muscles/help the body recover... then i need to know about it :)

juststarting · 29/10/2011 14:40

Argh, totally put my back out. Much as I was bemoaning the lack of useful support yesterday, thank god my MiL is here today, its taking me five flinching minutes to walk to the sodding bathroom, and I simply cant lift my son at all. Oops. Hoping to god its a short lived thing this time. Started the day very grumpy to as had been up since five with DS and feeling the lack of sleep. Hmph.
I cant decide between Hollie and Alexis. Though Holly was on our list, but then we decided against it. And now I wonder if I prefer Alexis. Naming a child is TOO difficult. Its a good job its generally a two person job else my DS may well have ended up Marmaduke Danger. Which, in retrospect, I see may not have served him brilliantly in the long run. This time around I have had Esmerelda veetoed. While I feel a tad indignant now, I apreciate this may prove appropriate.
Sleepy tired.
Who said something about making pram wheels puncture proof? Whats that about?

SnoozleDoozle · 29/10/2011 14:41

hello! I haven't been able to catch up on the thread yet, as I'm only home from hospital, but I wanted to let you all know that I had a beautiful baby boy on Wednesday afternoon, he was 8lbs 2, and he is the most contented baby, really chilled. Will post a proper update later, once I've caught up on things!

Hope all is well with everyone else.

voodoomunkee · 29/10/2011 14:44

Welcome home cali and Abigail!
Am so annoyed with OH! He's not out of bed...
Back is agony again. Stupid sciatica. Heartburn is agony today too. Bleah. Right I so need not to be pregnant! Emotional and pee'd off is not a good combo today!
Mama aww red haired witch sounds good! Regardless of d.o.b baby will be perfect!

voodoomunkee · 29/10/2011 14:46
