I'm tired out and must confess to a bit of scan reading here, but Caz, so happy for you. Well done. Not the easiest of births but now you're home together. And Cali, good good good luck tomorrow. I can totally imagine you must be er, pretty nervous, right now. This might be the worst bit emotionally though - once you get underway and stop hanging about it'll all change.
I too am definitely heading for Novemember. Late November at that.
My baby turned two today. Two. How has it happened? I love him.
I am sure I had stuff I wanted to say about the fear, but as I read half of this before my NCT class and half now, my mind has lost it.

TerrysNo2 · 19/10/2011 23:47

OMG - is anyone else's baby moving so much it makes them jump with pain (not agonising pain but a definite ouch)? Also having lots of BH with lower back pain, def not labour but still painful.

Is it just me?

I've heard from Folic and have basic details. They are still in hospital, hence the indirect news.

So Folic had a little boy on Tuesday night born at 37+2 weeks so still in neo natal but he is an excellent weight of 7lb 2oz. He managed a breast feed today (wed) so all sounds positive. They are both shattered and a bit shocked - I don't have details other than it wasn't a chilled night!

Can't wait to hear from you Folic hope you are home soon.

I'm going to collect together all the messages for the card so if you haven't PM'd Folic - PM me instead. You don't have to resend any already with Folic I will have them.
PamSco · 20/10/2011 01:08

Cali I hope you aren't reading this as you need to sleep! Wishing you all the best for tomorrow.

Caz wonderful to hear you are now home with your son, just wonderful.

cookie9 · 20/10/2011 03:25

Congratulations Folic! V healthy weight and I am sure your little boy will be out of neo natal soon.

Many thanks pamsco for the update and taking over the messages.

Terrysno2 I am surprised how much my baby moves around. He is good at kicking me when I am balancing on my exercise ball and managed to make me clip a roundabout the other day!

Merlioness · 20/10/2011 05:09

Congratulations caz. Hope you all settle and recover well.
Folic congratulations on the birth of your little boy.
Cali good luck for today!
lk feel better soon!

bumpandisaacsmum · 20/10/2011 05:10

folic congratulations; hope you & baby are both home safe soon xx

caz glad to hear you & xander are home safely xx

cali good luck, hope induction goes quickly & you meet sprout soon xx

terrys baby here moves lots & often try to stretch out which is pretty painful!!

Had MW today, baby doing well & in great position. BP remains high though not as high as last week, MW gave me strict instructions to rest as if BP goes up anymore homebirth won't be possible. Glucose in urine again as well so need GTT, seems silly to me but happy to have bloods done just in case!!

Am now awake every night from either 1 or 3am...with constant BH!! Had loads all day yesterday as well so hoping it won't be long; not sure how long I can manage these as they aRe starting to get quite painful

Hope those that had a bad start to the week aRe having a more positive time now xx

voodoomunkee · 20/10/2011 06:31

Ah congrats to Folic! Good weight and am sure they will be allowed home soon!
I agree re the baby moving and causing pain, last night being a prime example when lying in bed and must have been in a position she didnt like! Ouch.
Right day 2 of get the OH to work and am shattered! 6am is a god awful time. Tis also about 2 degrees outside and I had a rubbish nights sleep. Colleague at work is misbehaving and twisting the boss from calm and rational to a bit stressy and demanding and am not sure have got the energy to cope with it. Not good at 37+2 and hormonal! Another colleague suggested I should boo them all off and go sick, kicking my mat leave in a week early. Tempting....

TwoJackRussellsandabean · 20/10/2011 08:37

Congrats Folic :)

Hope everyone has a good day, not planning to do much more than lounge on the sofa and go to the post office/park once with the dogs, feeling very tired today so looking forward to a quiet day. Tomorrow am going to have an afternoon at the cinema and generally potter round in the town, last time I'll be able to for a while!!

PamSco · 20/10/2011 08:55

My last full day in work today, tomorrow is a half day as have antenatal class in the afternoon. Still not getting the reality kick yet. Mat Leave doesn't start for 2 weeks so it just feels like holiday?

Cali thinking of you here.

36+5 weeks

TerrysNo2 · 20/10/2011 09:47

Congrats folic

Congrats folic :)

MrsA haha I think its going to take a lot of persuading my husband to have another one, between Belle, this stressful pregnancy and stressful birth he is put off doing the 'growing the baby' bit for life but yes I would like one more. He is besotted with his boy though - I love watching them together! I always wanted 3 children. Just be a little bit different to what I expected. I knew my body knew what to do. I pushed Belle out, she was a breeze compared to her brother - yes a long induction with her, but only a 5 hour labour from waters to birth! But she was a lot smaller! Not sure I would be brave enough for a VBAC after the whole experience last week, but we'll see. Plenty of years to build up to that one!

stripeymummy · 20/10/2011 12:32

Congratulations folic! I hope you and your boy get home soon.

Good luck for today cali, thinking of you.

And I'm very glad to hear you're both home and well caz, you've had such a difficult time. Xander looks perfect and such a cutie from the photos on your page, thank you for sharing them with us.

I hope everyone has a more relaxing remainder of week - I'm off to put my feet up and watch Planet Dinosaur on iplayer [hwink] xx

voodoomunkee · 20/10/2011 12:53

Arrggghhh why did i agree to work so long? The works ok, am just tired but I haven't the mental energy to tackle the mind games of a girl at work. She's the one who's job I've done for the last year and a half and is now back off her mat leave. She's so bloody manipulating and my boss is letting her get away with it. It's driving me nuts. Am so not a quitter but am so close to throwing in the towel and going to the docs for a sick note to kick in my mat leave. Just would feel like I had given in or failed in some way.

H007 · 20/10/2011 13:21

Congratulations folic

I have a weeny problem and not sure how to address it.... Last week had an appointment with the consultant and his reason for me being high risk was that my BMI was 40, now this shocked me a little but I didn't say anything because I wasn't certain anyway left his office and checked my yellow book which says my BMI is 35.5 which sounded more like it to me however it got my thinking. Today as part of my MSc I was in the human performance lab completing a practical on anthropometric measurements including BMI now whilst I know mine will be warped it was more about the process of doing it for potential clients anyhows mine was calculated at 35+5 weeks as being a BMI of 33 which I was like can't be right as I was 35.5 before I was pregnant so I double checked with the lecturer who confirmed it was right, so it got my thinking and I calculated my BMI using my initial figures which came out with a BMI of 29. So what do I do now? It appears that I am consultant led for no reason and now a low risk pregnancy and I don't want them using my BMI as a reason why I can't do something when it appears it's not even a factor...

So confused!

voodoomunkee · 20/10/2011 13:39

This is similar to mine. Apparantly when I was there having growth scan the other day they noticed that my BMI was incorrect. As I knew it was. However for MLU here your BMI needs to be below 35 AT BOOKING APPT- that then Determines your care for the rest of yr pg. is it possible that that is what has happened with yours? I would recommend ringing the midwives at either your MLU or the consultant led. I got in touch with them via the website for my hospital which gave a number to 'contact a mw'. Hope that helps! Def ask for a reassessment!

SnoozleDoozle · 20/10/2011 13:43

Folic congratulations, hope you are both doing well.

H007 · 20/10/2011 13:48

Hi Voodoo she got it wrong at my booking appointment, given my weight at that time plus my height my BMI was 29 at the booking appointment even though she calculated it as 35.5. Do you think they'd change it now?

voodoomunkee · 20/10/2011 13:51

Yes they've changed mine! With a verbal comment that it makes most of my notes incorrect and she doesn't know what my mw was playing at! My height was 3cm too short!

H007 · 20/10/2011 13:57

Who did you get to change yours?

voodoomunkee · 20/10/2011 14:03

Midwives at my growth scan. The consultant knew it was incorrect as well and a registrar.

voodoomunkee · 20/10/2011 14:04

I would have asked my community midwife but she's useless.

MooseyMoo · 20/10/2011 14:23

folic congratulations. Hope you and baby boy are ok. Looking forward to hearing what you have named him.

caz how gorgeous is xander! Lovely photos, so pleased to hear you are home and doing well. My DD was same weight as xander and she lost 1 lb through issues with breast feeding. It's normal for babies to lose some birth weight in first week before milk comes in.

Terry last week I was having lots of painful movements. This week i'm having wriggles more than kicks/hits, but definitely less movement in between most active times. Have had to prod bump a couple of times to reassure myself. Always wonder what part I am prodding! I'm 37wks 4days.

Cali thinking of you and hoping you are already cuddling sprout.

pam thanks for update on folic. Woo to last day at work. Am v jealous, no maternity leave for me as i'm a sahm. Could do with a break though Hmm.

voodoomunkee · 20/10/2011 14:26

I'm dying to hear from Cali!!

TwoJackRussellsandabean · 20/10/2011 15:04

Moosey, I am fond of poking the baby to make sure everything is ok, just a gentle amount of pressure to a foot generally gives a wee kick to reassure me that bubs is fine, I spoke to an obstetrician, who gleefully admitted that she used to do it all the time too :o
