shagging it's odd the differing opinions you can find online and by different hositals. I was told in different areas (London and Cambridge) and also different hospitals here that it definitely wasn't necessary! Plus had the same with many private scans in the past. Maybe it depends on experience of the person doing it? Who knows. All I know is that I was told not to.

flip ouch, hope dh is feeling better soon

Hope you're all having a good evening

Reallea · 22/10/2011 08:24

NFC get a solicitor. Even if you see them once and they advise you you don't really have a case it would be worth it for your peace of mind. However I think you may well have a case. I had a nasty experience with an old employer who made me hand in my notice 2 weeks before my probationary period was up, it was tricky and I did speak to a friend of a friend who was an employment lawyer in the city. She said that it was tricky, mine was a very 'grey-area' case and if taken to court could go either way but then she also said that if I were pregnant it would be so much worse and the company would probably be in a bit of trouble. So from my 15 minutes I decided not to do anything but I was glad I had the conversation and I would really recommend you do the same, especially remembering what she said about pregnancy.

ShaggingProducesResults · 22/10/2011 09:28

Good advice Reallea. I hope that yesterday wasn't too awful NFC.

NotnOtter · 22/10/2011 10:58

Norfolk here we do always get asked for a full bladder at twenty weeks so it's odd to me that some places don't like it. Very early I have been asked to empty it but not later - having another at 28 weeks here so will check protocol then

Desperate for a proper bump and feeling on the cusp of it !! People look but only one has dared say!!! Others just presume lardiness!! V breathless tired and stinging pelvis at only 21+ which scares me. Do NOT want spd again. Half term here for a week now so that should be interesting !!!

CheeseandGherkins · 22/10/2011 11:06

NnO I was asked at about 9 weeks if I was pregnant! I do have quite a large bump though, posted on the fb group :) I had spd before and it's not nice at all.

Anyone else have really sore boobs? Past few days mine have really grown and they're very hard, hot and sore :( Evenings are the worst time but even now they're quite bad.

LilPud · 22/10/2011 12:28

Afternoon ladies

Funny you should mention boobs cheese mine have been bugging me for the whole 18+3! Itchy, sore and now cracking and oozing. Had to go to the doc yesterday they are so bad!

Hope everyone else is fareing better.

NotnOtter · 22/10/2011 20:52

will have a look Cheese!

KittyRogue · 23/10/2011 09:24

Hey all, is anyone else having pains on their side when sleeping?

I'm sleeping on my left like the whole world says I should do but about 3 hours in I'm woken up with my right side hurting! It's lower back and hip and I cant seem to fix it!! I've tried pillows under bump (which made me feel really sick) and just moving pillows around and nothing works. The only thing that seems to help is sleeping on my right side but that feels odd in other ways (I have always slept on my left side) any suggestion?

LittleBumbleBee · 23/10/2011 09:27

Welcome LittleBumbleBee!!

Kitty I have had terrible problems with my left hip from quite early, it goes dead then my thigh start hurting, I also sleep on my left and then I turn to the right and that side is fine! DP works nights sometimes and I have found myself sleepin on my right (spreading across the bed) when he is away and not having any pain. I bought a theraline plushy moon pillow which does help cos I find I can lie on it so almost on my front but bump is comfy and it keeps me off my hip, but as soon as u fidget (which I do a lot in my sleep) it moves out of position then I can't get it right again - nightmare!! I was told by someone to try pillows under the feet as it lines up the body straight but I haven't actually tried it - I am however considering putting a single duvet down my side of the bed to make it a bit squishier and hopefully more comfortable.

Hope everyone is doing ok :)

Welcome littlebumblebee
You're not the only one still suffering ... I'm still getting MS about once a week now Sad it used to be every day, so some progress!

Starting to get a proper little bump now Smile will post pic on fb when I get chance.
I also bought my pregnancy wardrobe on Friday, so eagerly awaiting my parcels from Isabella Oliver! Grin will hopefully arrive before dirty weekend away in Berlin next week.

MrsMcJnr · 23/10/2011 20:44

Hello ladies, sorry I fell of the wagon again. Had a really sicky week. Took me by surprise as I had been feeling so good and didn´t expect it to kick in at the end of week 17. Bit better today, let´s hope it was just a reminder to slow down a bit! DH felt his first kick last night :)

MrsMcJnr · 23/10/2011 20:48

Have also sent a request to join the FB group, I am AM :)

MrsMcJnr · 23/10/2011 20:52

Kitty - I also thought I´d got away with not getting the sciatic type pain in my right lower hip that I have had in my other pregnancies but it is back. It really helps to sleep with a pillow between your knees

Treks · 23/10/2011 22:36

stuff I've asked to join the fb group too. Initials FW. Ta!

Chulita · 24/10/2011 08:03

kitty I've got a dreamgenii which I find very good to sleep with. It looks huge but once you're ensconced in it my DH doesn't notice it. I had spd with DS and it was great for stopping that pain quite so much at night.

cheese I also have the sore boobs, at that annoying stage where DH is really please at the size of them and I'm denying him access. I'm still wearing normal bras though so might have to swap to non-wired ones [doesn't want saggy boobs emoticon]

littlebumblebee I'm still getting ms about once a week. Just when I think it's gone, it comes back.

notanotter Envy of you not showing yet, I have an unmistakeable bump, which is nice on the one hand but I'm dreading the inevitable elephantine lump I'm going to be!

I spent £70 yesterday on a winter coat, I'm not a clothes shopper/spender so that's a lot for me. I've got plenty of coats but they're all on the brink of not doing up already Blush so I needed something with a button at the top and not around the bump iyswim, I'll just have to sellotape a bin bag over the bit that sticks out to waterproof it or something.

Hope you all have a lovely Monday!

Chulita · 24/10/2011 08:04

Have asked to join FB group, I'm RM

NotnOtter · 24/10/2011 16:31

Chulita - think I may have spoken too soon! Seem to have put on 4 lbs in a week and now look ghastly! Just met a mum in park who seemed shocked at smallness of my bump but then told me her first baby was 10lbs 4 oz so that explains that. Only mild nausea now but eating for England nonetheless ... Oh no!
Chulita hope your coat is nice - I was hoping to do without but it's already cold so doubt it but seems a big outlay for four months

Still in normal jeans but got the feeling they look awful as slide down as the day progresses. Had to undo them in a cafe just now ( yes eating again!!)

Sitting in car at a farm as dp has gone in to see someone - best go as farmer looking twitchy!! Sorry not to name check !

Chulita · 24/10/2011 16:53

notnOtter it's a normal coat, not a maternity one so I'll definitely wear it afterwards, it's just got two rows of buttons at the top but it'll spread out over my bump, all my previous coats are zips so useless once I burst out!

MrsMcJnr · 24/10/2011 17:30

I have a great fleece coat thing from Jo Jo Maman Bebe, it´s a few years old now but it is great. It is knee length with a hood and has a panel that you zip into the middle for when you have a big bump, because of the extra panel, I don´t feel silly wearing the fleece without it when I am not pg if you get what I mean.

ILoveMyDragon · 24/10/2011 20:03

I got a new coat from BHS for my birthday which altho isn't maternity is a duffle and I got it in a much bigger size so should maintain my bump but doesn't look silly now as its a winter coat so will last me for yesrs to come I hope!!

KittyRogue · 24/10/2011 20:18

Hey all,

Thanks for the suggestions, I ended up buying one of those long full body sausage pillow things and along with that and some pillows managed to not be in pain at night! Woop!!!!

Boob wise, they have finally settled down pain wise but are pretty massive!! Will have to post a pic of the bump on Facebook later too!

Am still hunting for a nice coat, I can fit into my usual coat in the mornings but by the end of the day I can't zip it up! Lol!

ILoveMyDragon · 24/10/2011 20:59

Envy for your pain free sleep Kitty!! But :) for you too!! I had a whole 10 hours without waking Friday night and I woke up huggin my moon so guess I didn't move so it obs does work but no success last night :( Ahhh I guess it can only get work Confused

ILoveMyDragon · 24/10/2011 20:59

sorry worse!!!

FlipFantasia · 25/10/2011 11:14

Morning ladies

Bumblebee welcome and I hope the scan went well!

MrsMcJr I think I looked at a coat like that in JoJo when I was pregnant with DS but decided it wasn't warm enough for a London winter! Do you find it cosy enough?

Chulita glad you found a coat that'll see you through after the pregnancy too. I did that last time - got a swing type coat with just a couple of buttons in a larger size and just used a pashmina/umbrella for when the bump poked out and needed some extra cover. Need to dig it out again (along with my proper maternity wardrobe - DH has still got a wonky knee and since I don't Do the cellar I'll just have to wait until he can tackle the stairs and lug it up for me!).

Hope everyone's well. All good with me though busy with work (hence the flying visit right now!) and still quite knackered in the evenings. I'm sorry to hear of some of you still suffering MS - hope it clears off soon. I still get bouts of nausea most mornings, right after breakfast, but not bad enough for me to think it's still MS...

We're off to Bristol to see friends this Thursday for a long week - looking forward to a bit of a break from London and can't wait to catch up with the friends (their DS is exactly a month older than DS so the boys should have great fun together). Then we have our 20 week scan next Monday.

18+4
