Had no idea what to call it, sorry. Just googled third trimester and that was the recommendation...

Very quiet on here today, I hope everyone is feeling a bit better today.

I had a rubbish nights sleep, loads of housework to do but I'm exhausted. I'm also already worrying about the baby coming early as when I saw my mum earlier she told me I look like my bump has dropped.

Sorelip · 16/09/2011 12:57

My back still hurts, but the other pain disappeared overnight, thank God. Walking like Gollum gets old really quickly.

Slept badly as well, but then I can't remember the last time I had an uninterrupted night of sleep. I'm thinking of setting up a cat tray next to my bed, to save time on trips to the loo...

Anyone else getting a bit sweaty/wet 'down there'? It's making me feel unclean.

ThePippy · 16/09/2011 13:13

sorelip "Anyone else getting a bit sweaty/wet 'down there'? It's making me feel unclean."

Yes, it's been a nightmare. I ended up having to go to the doctor with a terrible red raw itchy rash that the excess sweating had caused where my legs meet my body. I was told to buy Daktarin cream from the chemist and it seems to do the trick, and now baby talc is my friend. I'll be pleased when it's over though as there are days I can get dressed, walk downstairs and get breakfast and already feel soaked and want to change at least my underwear. It's not even when I am hot - just there all the time.

I tried wearing panty liners but the wetness is not coming from inside, it is at the edges/knicker line so they didn't work. What a pain eh!

sevensevenseven · 16/09/2011 13:27

Oh the joys of being pregnant eh? If it makes you feel any better I've had to change deodorant brands as I'm sweating more than my usual dove deodorant can cope with Blush

jomouse · 16/09/2011 13:32

ThePippy, sorelip - I am sorry you are getting the same same thing but SO RELIEVED its not just me. Absolutely bloody hideous...
Its been my worst thing about pregnancy this far...

Sorelip · 16/09/2011 13:49

I might write a book, called 'What Nobody Thinks To Tell You Before You Get Knocked Up, Because They Want The Human Race To Continue' and list such wonders as:

  • Back pain that starts much earlier than expected, and NEVER getting comfortable
  • Having a sweaty vulva and feeling like you need a wash every 5 minutes
  • Projectile vomiting after a cup of tea (if I'd known this beforehand, I would have adopted or not bothered)
  • Feeling like you're being disemboweled after sex
  • Never wanting to eat what's in the house, instead hungering for the thing YOU CAN'T HAVE
  • The extent of the constipation that you will suffer - I feel like, not only is there a baby in there, but also amounts of faeces that, if released all at once, may end the world
  • How long 40 weeks actually feels - I thought the time would fly. How wrong was I?!

Can you tell how wonderful I'm feeling today? Wink

sevensevenseven · 16/09/2011 14:30

sorelip loving the book idea!

Is there anyone that is actually 'glowing'?

HoneyLovesCake · 16/09/2011 14:31

40 weeks? Hmm Normal human gestation is 37-42weeks; & that's assuming you don't go truly overdue (as opposed to NICE guidelines overdue)...but I suppose you could be lucky & have this all over with at 40 weeks :o

Not sure if I've mentioned it sorelip but I get nasty back spasms while working if I don't wear my Belly Bra It is possibly the ugliest thing I own & it is horribly sweaty on warm days but it's an absolute life saver; I literally don't think I could be working without it.

Sorelip · 16/09/2011 14:36

That's a good point Honey, the horror could go on for even longer...

I've got this image in my head of me, laying on my bed at 42 weeks, looking like a blue whale that's had a pink paint job, shouting "Cake, GIVE ME CAKE! Oh why won't this end, ARRGH" at my poor DH.

Sorelip · 16/09/2011 14:41

I'm looking up the Belly Bra. Does it help when you're in bed and roll over, and feel like your bump isn't moving with you? If it does, I'm stocking up right now.

mopsytop · 16/09/2011 15:20

Ha Sorelip so true! So far, being pregnant has mainly sucked! The only nice bit is feeling the baby kick. Not enjoying it at all I must admit.

mopsytop · 16/09/2011 15:41

Have been having really sharp pain across middle of bump. Can that be ligament pain too? It was when I was walking for about 25 minutes. I kept having to stop. I guess it was like a bad stitch pain but right across the middle of my bump. Also a weird feeling I can't explain but I am wondering if it's the baby turning over or something.

Xiaoxiong · 16/09/2011 15:41

Sorelip I would add:

  • acne and its evil evil cousin backne Blush
  • let alone sweaty pits and crotch, I get occasional gushes of liquid (not pee) that soak through my pants and sometimes enough to make my jeans damp BlushBlush

Cake is one thing that always helps. It's trainee changeover week at work and they have brought in krispy kreme donuts for us on their last day...

And today, it doesn't feel like the baby's kicking - feels more like a hideous creeping sensation like the ghost crawling out of the TV in the Ring!! (perhaps I am brewing a monster...)

mopsytop · 16/09/2011 15:43

Oh and I am there on the crotch liquid situation - have been wearing panty liners but have to change them very often. Also had a weird leakage out of right boob in bed last night, just a load of clear sort of gloopy liquid. At first thought was a gush of sweat (mmm nice) because was sort of under armpit, down side of body but then realised must be from breast. Is this normal?

Awomancalledhorse · 16/09/2011 15:57

Nice to know everyone else is feeling as skanky as me!
Itchy nipples/boobs after liquid leakage (mopsy, it sounds like you're lactating! A big MOO to you).

Tyelperion, I'm glad someone else finds baby moving freaky (cheers for scaring me though, The Ring freaks me out!).

My crotch is fine, until I stand up..then I gush discharge. If I'm out this is followed by the 'have I just wet myself?' panic.

What can I do to get rid of acne? I didn't have it as a teen, but now my forehead looks like a braille edition of the Bible. :(

seven, I am no where near glowing, my hairy & nails have been really strong and healthy though. It's just everything else that sucks!

Any plans for the weekend? Or will we all be too busy washing, defuzzing, being constipated, pelvic, rib and back aching?

sevensevenseven · 16/09/2011 17:25

I'm escaping acne on my face but have it on my bum and backs of my thighs, and it's really itchy. I'm also participating in the crotch gushing. I can cope with kicks but the baby turning over is such a weird feeling.

jomouse · 16/09/2011 17:38

Those last set of comments have made me laugh until I leaked Hmm. Good to know we are all in this together...

Xiaoxiong · 16/09/2011 17:39

horse I have tried everything under the sun, all the teenage salycilic acid stuff, witch hazel, tea tree oil, the prescription thing that my friend was given (safe for pregnancy, don't worry) and nothing has helped. When asked, my MW said chirpily that of course there was a cure for my skin issues - "having that baby!" Haha thanks, so funny Hmm

This weekend I have BIG plans. Saturday I am going to luxuriate on the sofa until noon watching the rugby world cup. Then I will meet DH for lunch and laugh at him for having to work Saturdays (don't feel too bad, he just had 10 weeks of summer holiday). Then I will bake bread and generally potter about in the afternoon, possibly reading my book for a while with a coffee and a muffin, skype my parents, take a long bath, and then watch a movie that DH hates as he is going out drinking after his rugby match. And then sunday we have our first hypnobirthing class which is supposed to take all day.

I'm sure I'll get some heavy duty bitching and moaning in there somewhere though, no fear!

OiMissus · 16/09/2011 19:25

Good evening, hurrah am home at last and able to veg out on the sofa. Grin
The recent posts are fantastic - thanks ladies for helping me to feel normal! Like a normal beached whale, of course. I am blooming... ...blooming massive!

sazzermol · 16/09/2011 19:28

Ha ha, love catching up with you ladies after a few days incommunicado. So good to hear I've not developed an early onset need for Tena lady and that it's yet another joyous symptom of baking a baby!
Sorry to hear some of you are feeling glum - hopefully that Friday feeling will lift spirits a little?

I'm currently lounging on the sofa instead of attending some fancy launch do for the local comedy festival - just toooo cream crackered after the week I've had. Hence my weekend plans involve more of the same (with a little household choreness thrown in!)

Anything good on the box tonight?

OiMissus · 16/09/2011 19:30

littlemissflustered if you're ever In the Horwich area (NW) and need help tying your shoelaces, or want DH to cook your tea, you just let me know!
Hats off to you.

sevensevenseven · 16/09/2011 20:38

oimissus I bet it's good to be home.

I've been googling and found out it's normal for my bump to have dropped already. Has anyone else dropped yet?

aethelfleda · 16/09/2011 21:17

Ahhhh- feet up on DH on sofa. Bliss.

KFC with beans and sweetcorn is two of my five a day, right??

Awomancalledhorse · 16/09/2011 22:27

Tyelperion, sounds like you're planning a similar weekend to me. Although last weekend was busier, what with the rugby, bamma AND the F1! Grin

aethelfleda Envy KFC! I'm sure it counts as 2 of your 5 a day. Made a chicken sagg curry for dinner tonight, so I should be on course with the amount of spinach and tinned tomatoes I used.

seven, not dropped here! Although everytime I have period stylee pains I panic.

Squatter knows when I've gone to bed (it's 2227hrs on a friday, and I've already been to bed, life is nonstop atm) as it decides it's party time. GAH!

OiMissus · 17/09/2011 08:30

Gingerbaby isn't so bad when I go to bed, but playtime is 3am - or it was, now it's all the time at night. For the past three nights I have had to go to the loo between 5 and 10 times. And there's no lying in in the mornings, that's dance time. :(
