Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
crowette · 25/01/2012 19:22

I didn't get any sickness with my two DDs, so fingers crossed it stays away this time too! I only feel slightly icky when there are strong smells, I gag, but that's about it.

I've already been over there and posted, before I was confident enough to come over here Grin Can't believe you're 17+6 already, time certainly has flown. You've got your 20 week scan coming up, are you going to find out the sex of the baby?

Another symptom I forgot to mention is the discharge!! Oh my, I'm forever running to the loo to make sure what exactly is leaking from me Hmm

I've bought myself a slankie today (well a cheapo Asda one) for snuggling on the sofa with.

I'm sure my work trousers are getting tighter already Sad

PrincessMango · 26/01/2012 11:56

Ooo..the discharge! I wish someone had warned me about that! Getting used to it now, but keep thinking I've wet myself!

We had an extra scan at 16 weeks, at the Fetal Medicine Centre in London, cos the Downs screening came back high risk. Everything looked fine on the scan, so we didn't have amniocentisis. But we did ask about the gender...the doctor who spent half an hour doing the scan said she thought boy. Then the professor said girl! So we're still 50:50!! 20wk scan is in 2 wks...can't wait!

Slankie...I am tempted!

Still in all my clothes, although the trousers now sit completely under the bump. I can no longer see my knickers when I stand up and look down. V odd all this!

crowette · 26/01/2012 12:48

2 weeks will fly by :)

We discussed finding out the sex last night, I'm erring on the side if finding out at the moment, just slightly. That could change though.

I had real bad wind last night - had a pizza with spicy chicken and oil on it, with some garlic bread ... Really did not agree with me and this morning my stomach feels tender. I'm also driving myself mad as my breasts don't ache as much as they have done, so I'm convinced it's all gone wrong Sad I think I need a slap. I'm at work at the moment and just want to go home and sleep. Roll on 6pm!

PrincessMango · 26/01/2012 13:02

Yes, the old stomach is much more precious and picky, isn't it. I have had such bad trapped wind before that I was almost on the floor in agony. Peppermint tea and a bit of a massage.....then don't be too close to people, as the farts are attrocious and smelly!!!

Really try not to panic and worry. The hormone levels do seem to fluctuate and so do the symptoms. Understandable that you'd worry after your MC, though. Can you remind me at what stage you MC'd?

crowette · 26/01/2012 13:11

It was very early, 5+2 weeks, so I've beaten that so far.

Certainly not got trapped wind, it's very free Wink just had a grope of my boobs and they still feel pretty dense and heavy. I'm going to give myself a slap!!

I can get down to the doctor tomorrow and register there, hopefully it they'll be quick with the registration process. I have to wait for them to write to me to let me know I'm accepted, however long that takes Hmm

BamBam21 · 28/01/2012 18:37

Just saw your news crow - so pleased for you!WineThanks I hope you are managing to feel more relaxed about it all now. The worry in the early days is awful.

Still hanging in here at 38+4. Just want baby out now.Smile

PrincessMango · 28/01/2012 21:11

Did you manage to get registered in the end, crow? It sounds like your surgery are being a pain. I had to fill in a form to register for the MW. I hope they pull their finger out and get you seen!

How's the wind?!

My bump has well and truely popped! No doubting the fact I'm pg now. A little anxious as it seems large for 4 months, but nowt I can do about it. Nipples changing too now - larger and darker. Not so keen on that!

Bam I bet you are keen to get it over with now. Are you staying close to home now? Do I remember right that you have a DS already? If so, were you early/late?

crowette · 29/01/2012 03:31

Thanks Bam I think I am actually relaxing about it now (fingers crossed as I think it though!)

Blimey, you're nearly ready to pop already! That has flown by, well, to me it has. Wink

Wind is a bit better, thanks princess, drinking actimel and peppermint tea and avoiding veg stir fries and spicy food for now!

As you can see by the time I've posted this, I have insomnia Hmm fell asleep about 11.45pm, woke up at 0.45 when OH came to bed, he's now snoring next to me and I have to be up at 5.30 for work. Fanfuckingtastic. I'm also hungry. I've played angry birds and sudoku on my phone, now browsing the web. None of the usual stuff is making me sleepy.

Suppose I best put my phone down and try sleeping again.

BamBam21 · 02/02/2012 13:25

Hi everyone. How are you all?

Hope you are managing to get some rest now crow. Insomnia is just awful - it's like slow torture!Grin

Princess yes I already have a DS(8). I am now 39+2 and so tired and fed up with it all. Luckily my wonderful mum has been taking DS overnight to let me just rest as much as possible. I keep having false alarms (like last night, when I felt like I had a stitch all around my lower bump) but they never come to anything. Due on Tuesday, and I just can't go overdue. Bean needs to come out right now!!Grin

Are you more about the size of a coconut now maybe? I actually feel like my bump has shrunk in the last few days, but maybe it's just because I've "dropped"?Hmm

crowette · 02/02/2012 19:50

I'm afraid I miscarried yesterday Sad

I had some bleeding and spotting on Monday at teatime, went to EPU on Tuesday morning and the scan showed an empty gestational sac - sonographer and nurse said I could just have had my dates wrong and I could be in earlier pregnancy than I thought. I told them it was unlikely, as we'd only managed to JS just the once, on xmas eve, so that would mean OH's swimmers were able to last two weeks!

They then did HCG test which my levels to be just 262. Was told to come back today for another blood test to check levels again, but woke up yesterday morning with cramps, which got worse as the morning went on, to the point where I was crying out in pain (and I have a high pain threshold) I passed what looked like the gestational sac late last night, and more clots today.

Obviously we're both gutted, but even more determined to carry on trying - in fact OH is more on board than he ever was!

Just to make matters worse (emotionally, for me) my sister in Australia messages me on facebook this morning to inform me she'd given birth to her daughter on Monday morning (Oz time), so she'd have been giving birth as my bleeding/spotting started. Sad I told her I'm happy for her, but to bear with me if I'm not showing the excitement she expects, as I'd just miscarried again.

So, in a week's time I have to POAS and hope to see a BFN and hope my body manages to get back into the swing of things quickly - I'll be 40 in a few weeks, so time is running out for me.

Good luck with the rest of your pregnancies, and I hope you have easy births and healthy babies xx

nickelhasababy · 03/02/2012 11:26

oh crow i'm so sorry :(

and Brew

cowboylover · 03/02/2012 23:23

So sorry crow, sending hugs x

PrincessMango · 04/02/2012 14:09

Crow, really sorry to hear your news. Well done for being positive about still trying. I think Wine is in order here!!

Thank you nickel for your parcel. It arrived again this morning....couldn't get to the post office, cos work out of town. So arranged a re-delivery this morning. Thank you for the cute outfits, as well as being so thoughtful as to put in brand new batteries. Was really touched you went to all that trouble. Thanks for you!

It was reassuring to read about entertaining the LO. I often wonder what on earth you do with them all day...try and stop them crying by playing, but it must get v repetative! Is she coming to the bookshop with you?

Bam yes, you're probably right, I'm bigger than a mango - or at least the baby is! Trouble is, when I had the scan at 16 weeks, it measured 12cm. But on the babycentre website, where I normally look at the sizes each week, the average baby doesn't reach 12cm until 18 weeks. So I don't know how big I am now! Seem to be ahead of the game. Certainly my bump looks big for 19weeks.

My 20wk scan is next Thursday. Can't wait. Will ask what the size is then, so I can change my name. And hopefully we've find out if a boy or girl. You haven't, have you bam?

And we have a holiday booked - going to Egypt in 2.5 weeks. Can't wait! Last chance to get away just the two of us. Plan on lots of sunshine and nothing. Need to order a tankini actually....

However, my DH got told yesterday that he won't have a job in 3 months. His company has been bought and after the 3-month handover his job ends. So he's looking for a new one. I'm trying to reassure myself that it's about 6 months til my income drops so we have time. Kinda glad we booked the holiday before, as we need it, but would never book it now!

BamBam21 · 06/02/2012 09:57

Hi everyone.

crow I have been posting between here and the JSing thread. I really hope you are okay and bearing up. Your DH sounds very lovely and supportive, and I hope you can both stay positive.

Princess that's rubbish news about your DH's job. Hopefully he will be able to find something else in the meantime, and you will still enjoy your lovely holiday. Exciting that you have your scan coming up too. We asked about the sex, but the sonographer couldn't get a very great view of baby's bits! She thought it was a boy, but not sure, so it will still be a bit of a surprise for us.Smile

Well, my due date is tomorrow. I really never thought I would still be here - I was convinced I would be early! Come on Baby Bam, we just want to meet you now!Smile

nickelhasababy · 07/02/2012 12:38

no probs princess - enjoy getting to grips with the machine Grin
(do a dry run- i didn't and had to learn it during contractions!)

nickelhasababy · 07/02/2012 12:40

it doesn't take much to entertain her at this age..
putting her in the bouncy chair - half an hour
opening and closing the folding door - half hour
pressing the button on the sound book - 10 mins
singing random crap every now and then - 10 mins a time
feeding - half hour to an hour each time
nappy changing - 20 mins
cuddling - lots of time.
whenever i need to serve, i either do it one-handed or put her back in the chair!
Grin

PrincessMango · 09/02/2012 18:27

Yay yay yay!!!! I'm having a girl!! 20wk scan today and a beautiful healthy little girl was kicking away in there. So amazed and happy. We both secretly (or not so secretly!) wanted a boy....I wanted my DH to be able to take him to rugby and things like that. And he said he's already worrying about a girl, cos they're more.delicate and the fatherly protection is kicking in.

But I'm just so pleased to be able to address her as her and know she is well.

Sigh!!

Bam any news yet? Any more false alarms?

I'll write.down that schedule nickel cos in 6 months time I'll be following it I'm sure!

BamBam21 · 14/02/2012 13:20

Hi everyone. How are you all?

Congratulations on your little girl princess, although I am rather Envy about it! Mind you, I keep telling myself the sonographer wasn't sure, and little boys are lovely too!Smile

I am mighty fed up today and keep having a little cry. 41wks today, have been having pains off and on for about the last 3wks. Had my post-dates appointment this morning, and the MW said she would examine me and do a sweep to try to kick start things. She rummaged about for ages, and it was really uncomfortable, only to tell me that although my cervix is effacing, it still isn't dilated so she couldn't do the sweep. I now feel like I've been kicked in the fanjo by a horse, and all for nothing.Sad I'm booked into the hospital for Saturday to be "primed" with a pessary, will probably have to stay overnight, and then be induced on Sunday. DP will get kicked out at 8 on Saturday night, and then he will have a real struggle to get back on the Sunday because we rely on shitey trains which never run properly on Sundays, and a taxi would cost about £40.Sad I just feel like it's all going wrong. I'm happy that baby is still doing well in there, but I just really don't want all the induction stuff, and I still have the best part of a week to wait. Just desperately hoping it will all get going naturally in the next wee while.

Sorry for the moan, I just feel so upset and teary about it all. I know I should just be thankful that baby is fine and we will have him soon.

PrincessWatermelon · 16/02/2012 12:20

Oh Bam I'm sorry to hear things are not moving for you. You've still got a couple of days before you're induced, so it may still happen. Although no one wants to be induced, it's not as bad as you think. My sister was with both of hers and it gets the baby out! Just think, on Sunday you may be meeting your little one! And the cost of a taxi - less than ideal, but it'll get him to you and you'll forget about it v soon.

Thinking of you x

BamBam21 · 17/02/2012 07:28

Morning everybody!

Well, after the "failed" sweep attempt on Tuesday, I started to get some pains. By 2.30 on Weds morning I needed an ambulance to take me to the hospital, and baby Daniel was born at 2.17 on Weds afternoon!Smile 8 pounds 7 ounces.Smile We are all so happy, but exhausted! DS1 is over the moon, but not so happy when baby is sick or crying!!Grin He has mucous which is making him sick, and he has a sore tummy with it, but hopefully that will clear very soon.

Thank you for your kind message princess. Thanks I hope you are fine today.

nickelDorritt · 17/02/2012 11:01

the pessary is the induction though Confused

but yeay! for baby Daniel! Grin
DD had mucus too, i think it's quite normal. :)

you'll be joining us on the Just Mumming thread then?
Grin

PrincessWatermelon · 17/02/2012 12:14

Yay!!! Congratulations Bam! That's wonderful news. Welcome to the world baby Daniel.

So, I think I'm on my tod here now....

La la la la la.....

Maybe I could join the Just Mumming thread. 20 weeks early, but I'll be reunited with the other viroids! What do you think Nickel? They wouldn't mind, would they?

nickelDorritt · 17/02/2012 12:27

I don't think we'd mind Grin

You'll feel in-over-your-head though - all that talk of what babies actually do might frighten you too much! Grin

FeijoaVodkaPlease · 19/02/2012 16:00

Come play with us Princess (though please get dressed first Grin). At least until some more viroids get themselves knocked up and over here.

Congratulations on Daniels arrival Bambam Hope all is going well with him

vallinnapod · 19/02/2012 20:43

I second that! Come play Princess!
