Come & join us in the Sep thread Normsnockers! I'm due 15th Sep & yes...was dreadfully vomitty (I like that!) last time & as of yet...nada. Still only 5 weeks gone so perhaps a bit early....

Pucca, how's it going?

purpleturtle · 11/01/2006 17:15

Can any of you give me a kick up the bum in an attempt to get me to the doctors?

I really should.

Deep down, for some reason, I'm a bit reluctant. I know loads of people who are due in August, and something in the back of my mind tells me that statistically something will go wrong with at least one of those pregnancies. I don't want it to be me. And I reckon that if I ignore it it'll pass me by.

Nuts I know. Talk sense to me, ladies!

pucca · 11/01/2006 17:27

Purpleturtle...I know what you mean, i do, but you have to stay positive Think happy thoughts or you will drive yourself mad.

Keep your chin up girl

pucca · 11/01/2006 17:27

Do you mean you haven't been doc's to say you are pg yet? if not...get gone lady lol.

purpleturtle · 11/01/2006 17:30

No I haven't.
Could try tomorrow. It's half-day at the surgery though. Might have to be friday.

I'm not miserable, or even really thinking negative thoughts. I'm in pure denial!

pucca · 11/01/2006 17:33

PT...Get yourself to doc then missus! lol, once you get your 12 week scan, you won't be able to be in denial anymore when you see your little bean jumping all over the screen, How many weeks are you?

purpleturtle · 11/01/2006 17:36

By my reckoning between 9 and 10 weeks.

pucca · 11/01/2006 17:39

Soooo...you only have a couple of weeks before you will get a dating scan, so get the doc's and get booked in

purpleturtle · 11/01/2006 17:39

Although in my defence in the last week I have found us a house to rent, arranged for our stuff to come out of storage, and applied for a primary school place for dd - she started yesterday! I guess going to the doctors must be next on the list.

purpleturtle · 11/01/2006 17:44

Oh, and I've sorted ds's nursery place too.

Arabica · 11/01/2006 19:51

Purplet, I know what you mean--but I was worried I just wouldn't get a midwife appt at all, if I didn't get things in motion, so went to GP after my 7 wk scan as opposed to running up there straight after my BFP. And still have heard nothing anyway!

kitegirl · 11/01/2006 21:03

purplet sweetheart YOU WILL BE FINE. YOUR BABY WILL BE FINE. there! statistics are just numbers. now get to the doctors, start your ante-natal appointments and get your scan booked! These early weeks are really nervy though aren't they. We have not told anyone yet, waiting to get to 12 weeks.

Sorry to hear so many of you are feeling sick and tired. I think now is the time to be self-indulgent and lazy, let the house be a tip and put your feet up whenever you can. melsy, hope you are feeling better now?

you know what, I am convinced that I am having a girl. When pregnant with ds I craved 'boy' food - red meat, sausage rolls, curries... and now, salads, fruit, fish and sushi. Girl foods. Anyone else guessing the sex?

trix1 · 12/01/2006 08:53

Good Morning all, How is the sickness, Im still vomiting the bile every morning sorry tmi. The tiredness has not been too bad for the last couple of days. Im now 9+2 and I have to arrange my apt with the midwife too. The doctors know Im pregnant and the midwife had left a message so I will phone this moring and get that out of the way. My 12 week scan is the 02/02 and then I will tell everyone providing alls ok. I dreamt last night I went for another scan and they put me back a week.

We need to do another list of all our due dates in August.

My ds was three weeks early, does anyone know if you have on early like that will any subsequent pregnancys be early??

Have a good day all.

purpleturtle · 12/01/2006 09:07

trix1 - a friend had dd1 3 weeks early, but dd2 stayed the course, and I think she was 2 days early in the end. Don't know if that's what you wanted to hear!

katzg · 12/01/2006 09:13

tehe - i think i'm the friend purple is referring too! and yes DD2 was 2 days early after DD1 was 3 weeks early, just to warn you though, when you've had one early baby everyone assumes that number 2 will be to so i had the have you ahd it yet from 37 weeks!!!!

purpleturtle · 12/01/2006 09:36

thought I told you to get on with some work!

Strike1 · 12/01/2006 11:45

Hi all. Still feeling a bit sicky here, but not as much. I'm starting to get all jittery now, so I've booked a private scan for Monday, on Harley Street no less, oooh get me! I know what you mean about being in denial PurpleT, I've been breezing along pretanding nothing's different, but I had a bit of a flip out yesterday and decided I couldn't wait till 12 weeks so off I go. Hopefully it'll put my mind at rest for a week or two! Kitegirl, I started off fancying boy stuff, like sausages and mash and have now moved on to salads.....what does this mean???

kitegirl · 12/01/2006 11:55

i don't know - it's not possible!! don't confuse me! my theory is water-tight!!

katzg · 12/01/2006 11:57

this is a good questionaire for guessing the sex of the baby, works a bit better later on in PG but it got the sex of both of mine right!

girl or boy?

olivo · 12/01/2006 12:29

Hi everyone - hope you are feeling not too bad - another feeling rough and shattered morning for me! Now panicking about rhesus negative stuff (if anyone can help, have put a thread on pregnancy-really confused and got stressed out just asking doctors receptionist if she could tell me my blood group!)
As for the food/gender thing - will check it out later - where do salt and vinegar crisps fit in?!?!?

kitegirl · 12/01/2006 13:11

strike where you going for your scan? fetal medicine centre?

Strike1 · 12/01/2006 13:31

Kitegirl, yes the Fetal Medicine Centre is where I'm going, are they ok?

kitegirl · 12/01/2006 13:50

they are fantastic - I am going tomorrow (dh wants to see the baby...bless!). When I was pregnant with ds they did all my scans and my amnio (had more money then...) you should get a good photo as well!
