rockmum · 14/12/2005 09:01

Kitegirl, my thoughts are with you and I really hope everything is OK.

Take care.
P

NewBethlehemGirlwithsparkles · 14/12/2005 09:13

Kitegirl - I hope everyhing is ok. Do let us know how you get on. Maybe is it just a bit of early spotting which is totally normal and very common.
xx

Rockmum, if your concerned, get yourself checked out as you will only worry.

I have known people to go for scans as early as 5 weeks.

I'm going to have to go now, mega busy day ahead.

I really hope your ok Kitegirl

babylily · 14/12/2005 09:22

Hi there, can I join you?
I am 4 + 6, due date of August 18th.
Bit nervous and a bit scared. We have a 2 and a half year old daughter and lost a little boy at 15 weeks of pregnancy on August 11th this year.
I'm being very positive at the moment but the reasons we lost our little boy mean I will have to have CVS done at 11 weeks.
Bursting to tell people our happy news, but probably won't until after the anomaly scan at 20 weeks...as long as I don't get too big too soon!
love and congratulations to all
babylily x

Arabica · 14/12/2005 10:06

Off for scan, please send lots of good vibes to Hackney for me! Kitegirl, hope you are OK.

Arabica · 14/12/2005 12:36

And now I'm back! Baby is right size and has a heartbeat. It was all very blurry and at first I thought she hadn't found anything. But then she said, 'everything looks exactly as it should be for 7 weeks.'
Also discovered that I was 9wks when I miscarried in February, which means I have to go back for another scan at 10 wks, ie, 4 January. But I'm trying not to worry about that today.

mumsXMASwish · 14/12/2005 13:04

Congrats on a good scan arabica!

Welcome babylis!! Good luck with your CVS!

That's great news Arabica! excellent stuff.
I am nearly on my 7th week and read last night that the bean doubles in size this week, amazing isn't it.

take care you all!

NewBethlehemGirlwithsparkles · 14/12/2005 14:29

Welcome Babylily

Sorry to hear about losing your baby boy
Sending postive vibes and lots of babydust to you

Great news Arabica! Do you feel a bit more relaxed now you've seen your little bean?

Any news yet Kitegirl?

Arabica · 14/12/2005 14:44

Yes, I feel good today--obviously I won't relax until I have passed 13 weeks and all the tests I have to have, but at least the part of me that was wondering if I had in fact invented all my pregnancy symptoms can be well and truly told to shut up!

NewBethlehemGirlwithsparkles · 14/12/2005 17:07

I've suddenly come over all anxious again.

I really don't know what is wrong with me. I think I might give my midwife another call if I don't snap out of it. It would be nice just to sit back, relax and enjoy xmas with dh and dd but I don't see that happening atm.

Kitegirl, I was going to CAT you to see how you are doing but thought best not to. I hope things are ok. x

trix1 · 14/12/2005 17:22

Glad the scan went well arabica - and welcome to Babylily - I am due on the 19th August one day after you. I hope you have a healthy pregnancy and sorry to hear about your loss in August.

Does the days go by slowly for you ladies at the minute - I just want to get 15 weeks so Im looking at Feb/Mar before I truly relax - then i will look back and think how quick the time has passed :0

Kitegirl - thinking of you.

pucca · 15/12/2005 09:44

How is everyone this morning?

NewBethlehemGirlwithsparkles · 15/12/2005 09:46

Morning all

Hope your all ok today.

Trix, The days are passing too slowly for me as well. I think it's worse because there's xmas coming up. It seems such an effort and weeks away to get that out of the way before January comes!

I'm just wonering if, when I go for my appt with the midwife, she will be able to listen to the babys heartbeat? I'll only be 8 weeks then and I'm sure I was 14 weeks before they listened to dd's but it would be a real relief if they can.

Dh and I started looking at names last night I've picked loads and as usual dh can't decide on one!

Still thinking of you Kitegirl. Hope you enjoy yourselves in the Algarve

bestxmaspressieever · 15/12/2005 10:21

bestxmaspressieever · 15/12/2005 10:34

have been a regular 'lurker'!!

freddysays · 15/12/2005 14:15

hello All, sorry been away for a bit, one day and lots of news from you all. I hope things are ok with you Kitegirl... I had spotting with my first but you need to get the specialist to give you real answers.

Welcome to the new additions.
I had a dating scan today and its going to be 7/8/06 WOW that feels like forever, but I will make the most of it like someone said get Xmas and NYE out of the way and get on with it.

NewBGwithS and Trix1 not sure what cat means but please do let me know your address and I will sling in a few magazines for you..be a pleasure.

Also dear Lurker, BestXmasEver its a nightmare keeping it a secret, I am starting to think what the hell, tell the people you want to. The reason we keep it to ourselves is in case things go wrong, but what is the harm in people knowing that too..you would only tell the people you love and trust so whats the harm in them knowing it all?
Then again secrets are pretty cool arent they

rubles · 15/12/2005 15:04

For anyone who is having their first baby, I was in woolworths today and there was a very relaxing rocker chair (it called itself a massage chair, but it didn't massage) for £139. I thought that it would be good for breast feeding, as it had little pockets to put things in on both sides and it was really easy to recline without the baby noticing.

I went really cheap last time with dd and got a basic chair from Ikea so i don't actually know if that is good value or not compared to the special maternity chairs, but i remember always thinking they seemed too expensive for me, but if you are thinking of getting a new chair especially for your baby i'd give this one a look. It was fake leather as well, so easy wipe clean.
dd took ages for each feed, so I regret not making the investment seeing as I spent so damn long sitting down in those early weeks.
(It probably seems a bit premature to be buying equipment, i suppose, but i thought I'd get it down here before I forgot...)

NewBethlehemGirlwithsparkles · 15/12/2005 15:09

Hi!

Freddysays, CAT means Contact Another Talker. You might have choose not to receive these when you registered with MN

Rubles I bought a similar chair when I had dd from Durham Pine. It cost £120. Don't use it now but it was great when dd was a baby.

NewBethlehemGirlwithsparkles · 15/12/2005 15:14

Yeah, I've just tried to send you a CAT FS but it says you've choosen not to receive them. If you take it off I can send you my address or you could e-mail me your e-mail address and do it that way.

It's [email protected]

rubles · 15/12/2005 15:18

Maybe £139 isn't such a good deal then!

Arabica · 15/12/2005 18:30

My husband's cousin's wife insists the ONLY chair to get is the La-Z-Boy (it's the chair Frasier's dad watched TV on, if you know the programme). It's a bit like a comfy beach chair; it reclines to whatever angle you choose, plus there's a special section to support your feet! In Iceland (where she lives)all men have to buy one for their wives once the baby comes along. They cost a lot more than £139, but boy are they comfy.

NewBethlehemGirlwithsparkles · 16/12/2005 12:36

Hello all!
Are we all well today?

Well I can safely say that my back is aching like mad. The slightest thing is setting it off. If I don't sit back on a chair then I ache for hours after.

I don't know if I'm being a bit weird but I stood infront of the mirror today and sucked my wobbly belly in.
There's nothing there at all. Not even a little lump.

Anyone else like this or can you see a difference in belly size?

Had another look on the baby centre and it's definatley saying I'm over 6 weeks!
I don't get it as I worked it out as 5 weeks and 3 days today!
Weird.

Arabica · 16/12/2005 12:41

Nope, all I can see is flab, I'm afraid! Last time it didn't turn into a bump until about 16 wks--so if I make it that far I would expect to see something around 12 wks.
