Don't return them... sell them on ebay :) And then by the bouncer Grin

sevensevenseven · 02/09/2011 16:29

honey you sound like me when my mum offered to buy the crib after I'd already ordered it!

Awomancalledhorse · 02/09/2011 17:31

Second selling on eBay Honey!

HoneyLovesCake · 02/09/2011 18:06

Hmm I love buying on ebay but it is not a sellers market, everything goes too cheap, plus I'd still have to go to the post office. Much better to send them back to her & make it her problem I think & then give up on the subtle hints about the bouncer & just ask for an outright swap Grin

DarciesmumandBump2 · 02/09/2011 18:13

Hey Ladies.

I have a child-free and DP free evening.

I'm another one who's organised. we've got everything except a breast pump, monitor & in ear thermometer (Darcies one broke). Nursery is all done too. so now just waiting for baby to be born.

Bluebells Congrats on the house Grin

re a birth plan mine is NO pain relief like last time and to let me do my own thing, no internals unless I ask for it. and to break my waters - as DD was born in hers.

I have swollen ankles and feet :( think it's because I've been working 10th days and it's soooo hot.

BIL wedding tomorrow. brought a new dress and it looks alright :)

HoneyLovesCake · 02/09/2011 18:24

Born in her waters? Is that bad then? I haven't come across it in any of my books but I've really just started reading up on childbirth.

DarciesmumandBump2 · 02/09/2011 18:47

Honey not bad at all. It's a very rare thing and it's meant to mean she'll never drown. The only reason I'd have them broken this time is because thats the reason my labour was as long as it was 10hrs. if they had broken them when I'd gone into hospital she would of been born within a couple of hrs.

sevensevenseven · 02/09/2011 19:50

darcies I had to have my waters broken as my membrane was very thick, once they'd been ruptured DS came out at a rate of knots! Blush Does that mean I'll probably be the same again?

kri5ty · 02/09/2011 20:09

oi I may waddle In to you tommorrow at the show!
honey I didn't read all of the posts .. but I wouldn't even contact the people in question, I'd just re advertise! I am after a Russian blue to keep my bsh/ragdoll x company for when the baby is born, but oh says we have to wait!

DarciesmumandBump2 · 02/09/2011 20:09

nor sure Seven I know there's a history in my family where if one baby's waters were artificially broken, it meant any further childrens were too.

so if mine don't go on their own this time I'll have them broken!

LittleMissFlustered · 02/09/2011 20:36

My waters were broken for me first time, second time they went with a whosh all on their own:)

I need beef tonightBlush

msbuggywinkle · 03/09/2011 08:00

Oooo...bsh/ragdoll crosses are lovely! Our kitty is a Norwegian Forest Cat, he is lovely and likes water.

Off to a festival today, about to eat a huge stack of toast to keep me going as the food break isn't until 3!

BeeMyBaby · 03/09/2011 10:08

Ooo we have a Norwegian forest too but he's on his last legs so don't think he'll see out the year, he's lasted about 14 years though. We will still have one cat but can't get anymore as the dogs would munch a kitten.

We still live with my parents so there is not much choice with visiting, although my mother is so good and has helped me so much with DD I am incredibly lucky. MIL lives in North Africa and could never afford to come here herself so we will have to visit mid next year, but MIL is lovely too, and has learnt English just so she can talk to me. FIL is not so nice but I've only had to meet him once as he lives in Europe and I don't intend on meeting him again.

I didn't have a birth plan last time and I was never asked about one so I have no idea how all that would work, the only thing I was insistent on was that the mw checked there was no cord around baby's neck as MIL had that one in a million horror story, so will demand the same thing again.

HoneyLovesCake · 03/09/2011 12:50

I'm Envy of all your fancy cats...mine are all (gorgeous) moggies, my big black cat had a long haired dad so he has a fab coat & my 2 tabby girls were rescued by a local farmer after their feral mother disappeared when they were about 2 weeks old. I adore them but have always had a hankering for a pedigree cat; love Maine Coon's but we always seem to be given pets so have never got around to buying one & for the moment we have quite enough! If I didn't have DP & bump I would definitely have turned into a crazy cat lady with a houseful Grin

Very interesting about the waters being broken; I'm really anti internal exams though so I think I'd rather leave them to break naturally, or not...see how I feel after a long labour though Hmm

Question re birthing/gym balls....I thought they were all pretty much the same thing & was going to buy this cheap one from tesco but it says it's not suitable for use while pregnant. Why not? Confused I'm inclined to just ignore them as I think it may be because it's not an antiburst one but since I don't plan on being heavy enough to burst it I don't see a problem.

BeeMyBaby · 03/09/2011 12:53

Incidentally our other cat is a Maine Coon...

OiMissus · 03/09/2011 13:14

At the babyshow... Not as good as I thought it would be. Only 2 real nappy places - matched by 2 energy suppliers!!! (nasty people!) I was hoping to come here and save money, but instead have fallen in love with a £1000 travel system - nothing else comes close. I was determined to spend no more than 300 on one. Am not buying today. Just collecting leaflets. Not many freebies to be had. :(

Cheaptrick · 03/09/2011 16:21

Hello everyone

EDD is 5/12 i'm 27 weeks on Monday Shock time is flying by.

I had my GGT test on Tuesday and i have felt ill ever since.

I have also stopped breastfeeding and started potty training my 2 yo yeasterday.

We have got all new girly clothes and put the cot up and we are in the process of cleaning spare room to put son in his own room and bed.

I have also started to pack my hospital bag and get Son's over night bag ready.

I'm stressed thinking i'm going to go in to labour early and not be ready!

off to catch up Smile

sevensevenseven · 03/09/2011 18:01

Hi cheaptrick. Is the GGT test the glucose one and what does it involve? I didn't have one with DS.

oimissus baby show sounds like a disappointment, was it you who got the free tickets? (sorry I have pregnancy brain and can't remember!)

BluebellsintheSpring · 03/09/2011 18:30

Honey I also bought cheapie gym ball. Mine also says not suitable during pregnancy. It says it will take up to 19stone and as I'm still under 10, I'm hoping it will be fine. Just need to make sure there are no sharp objects lying around!

Spent the day on my feet and have v sore back, feet and ankles now. Def an evening for feet up and bath.

Cheaptrick · 03/09/2011 19:05

Hi Seven

Yes its the glucose test. I had to not eat anything for 12 hours, then you have a blood test taken, then 20 mins to drink 400ml of lucozade, wait 2 hours and then another blood test.

The midwife could not find my vain to take the first set of bloods so i had to go to the blood room in main hospital and test was ment to be at 9.50am but ended up taking first set of bloods at 10.40am and second at 12.40pm so a long time without food Sad

I'm begining to feel very pg now. I'm finding it hard to move or get up off sofa Blush

I just had a panic attack as i got up off floor and had a huge pain in bump and i couldn't straighten up and it took an hour for the pain to go. I think the baby has turned and my bump has changed shape. I'm feeling better now so i'm fine Blush

figgygal · 03/09/2011 20:42

I've not felt him kicking today I don't want to worry and be hysterical but keep thinking her will start and hasn't he's usually very active these days. Am in scotland not local so not sure if I can get to see anyone might have to go tomorrow to hospital tomorrow if nothing as don't remember much movement yesterday either.

aethelfleda · 03/09/2011 20:48

I bought a cheapie gym ball too! I don't know what the manufacturers expect us to do with them, leap onto them from a great height, perhaps?

Am torn between vegging on the sofa and decluttering. At the moment the vegging definitely wins. Plus a bit of sneaky ebaying. And my new Moby wrap arrived today- they sell it in purple and I couldn't resist :)

www.littlepossums.co.uk/slings/wrap-slings.htm#mobywrap

aethelfleda · 03/09/2011 20:58

No fun for you figgy- if you don't get some movements tonight then ring up the nearest hospital with an A&E first thing tomorrow morning and ask switchboard to be put through to the labour ward. If there's no labour ward/day assessment at that hospital then ask for A&E- someone in A&E will know where the nearest 24 hour midwifey support is and should be able to give you a number. I do hope baby gives you a good shoeing overnight to reassure you.

OiMissus · 03/09/2011 21:09

Hope the little one is just having a rest figgy. - everything's crossed for you. Looking forward to hearing he's kicking again. Xxx

OiMissus · 03/09/2011 21:21

seven yep, got free tickets, so it wasn't too bad.
And I'm having a glucose test on Tuesday - one to look forward too. My dad has type 2 diabetes- because he's massively overweight - but that's good enough for them to put me through it. I didn't think it would be a problem, back then, but now I need to eat when I get up!
