Welcome to the new thread ladies!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
LittleMissFlustered · 24/08/2011 16:08

I went arse ove tip at about seven months with my daughter, on ice! Was fine. If you've no pain and feel well you should be ok :)

Scan tomorrow, place your bets on blue, pink or yellow Grin

msbuggywinkle · 24/08/2011 17:03

Bee no idea, it is waiting and seeing now really.

AWCH Yep, they will find a midwife from somewhere! I've seen it recommended that you just repeat on the phone 'I'm having a home birth, please send a midwife to....' until they get the idea! It is a technique I've had lots of success with dealing with unco-operative people!

Mopsy I fell on my arse 7mths pg while carrying DD1 in a sling last time round. We were all fine, I had a lovely black bruise though!

Have had a great afternoon at a friend's house, sat showing her how to crochet then working on DD3's baby blanket while DD1 and 2 played with their friend.

LittleMissFlustered · 24/08/2011 18:00

We're pregnant anti-weebles! Wobbling, falling but bashing on!

I just ate a whole packet of sports mixture. I feel illGrin

sevensevenseven · 24/08/2011 18:32

LMF good luck for your scan! Any idea what you think it is?

aethelfleda · 24/08/2011 19:37

No fun mopsy.

I fell hard onto my knees when on holiday a few weeks ago, tripped over a step onto a tiled floor. Was fine but it REALLY shook me up for a
few hours. If you feel fine and baby's active, should be ok, if you worry ring the midwives.

mopsytop · 24/08/2011 19:57

Thanks everyone. I ended up ringing the midwife for reassurance and she said don't worry, baby is well protected and if no cramps (contraction-type cramps) or bleeding/leakage then not to worry. Can feel baby wriggling so I am reassured. Feel shook up though and my shoulder sore from where I flung my arms out to stop me and my pelvic girdle pain really bad also as a result of the jar. But that doesn't matter so long as can feel the bean! I am just about to have a bath now to sooth my aches!

OiMissus · 24/08/2011 20:38

mopsy that was me, last week, I was in shock but fine.
Am in the airport waiting to board and my ankles are HUGE. They've never been this big before - and we're not even flying yet. Not happy. Definitely "working from home" tomorrow! I feel awful! Sad

mopsytop · 24/08/2011 20:39

I remember that Oi, it's so worrying isn't it?
My ankles were a bit swollen yesterday. SO unattractive, ugh! I just feel so bleugh and unattractive all the time right now!
Hope you don't get home too late and have a good rest tomorrow.

OiMissus · 25/08/2011 00:10

Just got home. Ankles about to pop, and everything feels swollen and tight - tummy, thighs, etc. DH is away from home tonight too, so no big hug waiting. Sad miserable me! I could very easily cry, but iwill not give in to pregnancy silliness and hormones!! Goodnight all. Thank you for virtually being there (here). Smile

msbuggywinkle · 25/08/2011 07:43

Anyone else really tired again? I've suddenly started with the epic sleeping again, I slept for ten hours last night! I was starving all day yesterday so I'm hoping that she is just having a growth spurt and I'll go back to normal soon.

Can't get my head round being 6mths pregnant. Probably because I'm still sick I think, have had enough of morning sickness now! My birth ball arrived yesterday, so comfortable.

I wanted to mention, those who want an active birth, practice squatting! Squatting is a great position for birth as it increases the pelvic outlet by about 28%, but you need to practice for it to be comfortable!

OiMissus Hope you're feeling better this morning.

mopsytop · 25/08/2011 08:40

What kind of birth ball did you get missus?

Oi hope you are feeling better and less swollen today. If you remain really swollen make sure you go and see your doctor/midwife just to get it checked.

msbuggywinkle · 25/08/2011 09:26

Just one from ebay.

Keep forgetting to ask...has anyone found long sleeved, front opening PJs that don't cost a small fortune? I need a few pairs as I intend to remain in PJs for at least a week!

HoneyLovesCake · 25/08/2011 10:21

msbuggy haven't found any pj's but i am looking too, although I was hoping to be in slightly more attractive loungewear for the 2 weeks after birth....in my dreams I'll be lolling about in these www.seraphine.com/maternity-clothes-categories/maternity-nightwear/displayProduct.asp?idproduct=790&idcategory=35&title=Bamboo+Lounge+Pyjama+Black%2C+Maternity+Nightwear & these www.net-a-porter.com/product/107650 but realistically I was just going to wait for the Next & M&S sales :) Actually I might have to put the Seraphine ones on my birthday list (6th Dec) & hope someone feels like splurging on the mum-to-be.

Is a birthing ball the same as a gym ball or are they stronger to deal with the extra weight? Grin Think I have a gym ball lying around somewhere Hmm

OiMissus · 25/08/2011 10:44

Oooh - like the serephine "loungewear". Love the loungewear term - very sophisticated - posh pyjamas. :) Net a porter... does that really say £295?!! Does anyone really ever spend that on scruffs? (my term for loungewear!)
Happy to report that the ankles are beginning to calm down. They are still big and swollen but half the size they were last night. My feet are raised, but I keep having to fight off cramps and pins and needles.
My pregnancy has been fairly easy and enjoyable until the last few days, I'm sure this is just a blip and I'll be fighting fit again soon, I guess I just need to rest a bit.

HoneyLovesCake · 25/08/2011 12:33

They are cashmere scruffs Wink but even if I won the lottery I think I'd balk at that price.

Net a porter's sale site The Outnet sometimes has the Lounge Lover brand but even with massively slashed prices they're still hideously expensive for posh pj's.

They make the Seraphine ones look v. reasonable though Grin

OiMissus · 25/08/2011 12:44

Oh the Seraphine ones are a STEAL! It would almost be rude not to at that price - comparatively! Grin

HoneyLovesCake · 25/08/2011 12:52

Comparatively being the operative word!

Speaking of which...this morning I got up & after looking at myself in the mirror & being quite pleased with what I saw I said to DP "doesn't my bum look much smaller now that my bump has got bigger" & he said "yes it does, compartively, but what are you gonna do once the baby comes out" Hmm

sevensevenseven · 25/08/2011 13:21

honey :o

Nursery was painted yesterday and looks great. Just waiting for DH to build the furniture.

We've had MIL round this morning, I'm sure she infuriates me more when I'm pregnant. Today's stupid question - "is DS still left handed?"

OiMissus · 25/08/2011 13:23

Ha ha ha! Very funny. Grin
But lucky you!
My bum is growing along with my bump - I'm balancing out and look ridiculous. A complete weeble. :(

mopsytop · 25/08/2011 13:26

Me too Oi - bum like a shelf, bust like a shelf :( Not looking forward to the mahoosive diet I will have to do come January.

msbuggywinkle · 25/08/2011 15:10

Yep, rest of me looks comparatively smaller. Sadly, I have a belly when I'm not pregnant so I look totally daft, skinny legs, giant boobs and belly. Ab crunches here I come!

DarciesmumandBump2 · 25/08/2011 15:23

hey everyone.

Sorry not been around, it's been very hectic.

I,ve got a bump that looks like I've swallowed a huge football! haven clothes that fit.

I'm another one feeling shattered again :(

I also have a chest infection so on steriods now - looking forwrd to being able to breathe again.

OiMissus · 25/08/2011 16:35

Poor darcies - it's so miserable being poorly and unwieldy. ...I need a better word for unwieldy.. I mean - huge, stiff, uncomfortable, like a weeble... is there a word?
seven - still left-handed???! C'mon lady, put in some effort!!
(I don't understand, was it supposed to "right" itself, or were you supposed to beat it out of him?!)

DarciesmumandBump2 · 25/08/2011 17:01

Seven How would you correct which hand your DH primarily uses?

Oimissus I really feel like a weeble too!

Is anyone ESP those who have children already worry about the effect it will have one the child you already have?

I have so much on my mind it's getting me down. Even DP bless him has said he's worried about me and that everything will get sorted and be fine but I can't help but worry :(

lalababy · 25/08/2011 17:02

dunno what your MIL is on about seven being left handed is fanstastic... apparently creative and clever Grin

msbuggy I've been sleeping like crazy too... almost alseep at my desk zzzzzzzzz

I am not even going to bother about how I look or how much weight I put on at the moment. Prefer to just enjoy the time... will worry about all this in Jan. For the moment I am going home to bake triple chocolate browines... death by chocolate :)
