There you are aethel

kri5ty · 17/08/2011 11:06

i do at home aethel :o a verrrry nice one of me and him giving me a hug!!!

kri5ty · 17/08/2011 11:09

Good luck with the costume msbuggy

I don't know what came over me yesterday, after work i got home, i sorted out under the stairs, sorted through cds/dvds, clothes and took lots of stuff to the charity shop, bought some new curtains and hung them, and then put all the stuff we have for the nursery up... which is nearly finished :o just a few more fake vines to hang and a couple of pictures!!

aethelfleda · 17/08/2011 11:43

Wow, kri5ty, you hugged Johnny Depp?? Jealous!!!
(apparently he's a good conversationalist too...)

Very impressed with the decluttering, my house looks permanently like a bomb's hit it. But I'm soft and prefer playing with the kids to actually tackling the housework...

Snail costume huh? How about stacked cardboard boxes (like a wedding cake) on the back of an old T-shirt?

kri5ty · 17/08/2011 12:00

Yup aethelfleda i was very lucky in my previous job to stalk meet/ talk to / have pictures with lots of famous people... the most bizzare was having snoop dog rap to me sat on a bed Hmm

And yes, Mr Depp is lovely!! I didnlt really talk to him for as long as i would have liked as it was busy, but the story always makes my OH jealous!!

kri5ty · 17/08/2011 12:01

... and i will be very soft and much prefer to play with my DS when he is born :) that is why we have children after all :o

msbuggywinkle · 17/08/2011 12:33

The snail costumes are done...big cardboard boxed cut so they rest on the DDs' shoulders, painted with swirly patterns by the DDs. They're happy with them anyway!

I do an hour of housework every morning, I don't eat breakfast so I do it while the DDs are having theirs. Can generally get the washing, bits of tidying and hoovering done then. I do the bathroom while the DDs are in the bath, then DP does dishes, more tidying, bins, kitchen floor cleaning and general kitchen cleaning. Low standards help!

HoneyLovesCake · 17/08/2011 14:05

Congrats on the boy aethel & sorry to hear about your placenta but if it helps any I'm in the same boat! I was very upset to start with as I hate hospitals & am planning a homebirth but after a bit of research the stats look good, especially if it's not covering at this stage. On the brightside; we get an extra scan :)

kri5ty I'm very intrigued by the vines in your nursery Hmm you have to post pics once it's all done; in fact that goes for all of you who are decorating nurseries...we're not as I plan on having the baby in with me for as long as DP will allow so I need to see all your nurseries instead Grin.

msbuggy I am Envy of you making costumes, I can't wait to have costumes & other crafty things to make, half of the fun of having kids if you ask me :)

sevensevenseven · 17/08/2011 15:04

Hope everyone is having a good day.

Our repeat scan went fine, baby was behaving and it's a girl! I was a bit annoyed though that the monographer wrote on my notes how she wasn't able to see the baby very well due to my high BMI. It was clear 2 weeks ago and I've only gained a pound since!

DarciesmumandBump2 · 17/08/2011 16:43

Msbuggy I can't make costumes very well, not very creative and artistic in that dept so very Envy of you :)

Seven Congrats on your scan and ignore the sonographer!

I was 54.6 kgs when I fell preggers. I'm now just under 60kgs my doc was happy with that.

Saw the MW this afternoon and she was happy with everything and heard a good strong heartbeat. Also booked onto a tour of the Unit, and a one day parent education class (more for DP than me) which covers everything from labour, pain relief, early days and feeding.

msbuggywinkle · 17/08/2011 18:13

seven Congratulations! Girls are wonderful [biased] Grin I'd be cross with the sonographer too, I was 15 stone when I got pregnant with DD1 (much lighter now!) and no one said anything.

I'm not at all artistic Darcies it does not come naturally, but I slowly improve over the years of many sudden requests for costumes! DP actually gets paid to be arty and has fantastic ideas...hence our aim to both work PT and Home Ed PT

sevensevenseven · 17/08/2011 18:36

Thanks darcies and msbuggy. I think I'm mostly annoyed because I've lost 2.5 stone since last time when nothing was said, I'm proud of myself until I'm made to feel like a whale!

DarciesmumandBump2 · 17/08/2011 18:49

MsBuggy DP can be quite arty when needs be. Thankfully not had a request for many costumes yet!

Seven You should be proud of yourself and sod the sonographer Grin

aethelfleda · 17/08/2011 22:18

Hi honey and thanks for the company- though it would be better if our placentas both behaved!- the best stats I can find say that 90% of them have moved up by 32 weeks, as long as we have 2 cm clearance, a natural labour should be possible. I had both my DDs in the home from home room with gas and air, hoping to do so again if all goes well. we'll see!

And seven, I can't believe the cheek of the sonographer! I'm five foot eight and thirteen stone seven (86kg I think)- My BMI of 28 At booking was tutted at by the booking midwife who had at least a stone headstart on me! , you'd think they would realise that digging at pregnant women isn't a kind sport!

House still a tip, we spent most of the morning playing a
Fab 1980s game called "sorcerors cave" and DDs getting eaten by dragons....

kri5ty · 18/08/2011 07:29

I'm a little worried today (prob over nothing), im 23 weeks, and have only been able to feel movements during the past 2 weeks due to my placenta being at the front, but for the past 2 days i haven't felt anything again... is it just possible it's becuase he has moved? I don't really want to ring the maternity triage unit as i feel like i'm wasting their time!

yayayyy seven congrats :o and ignore the meanie bum sonograpgher!!
honey my vines aren't as impressive as they were going to be (as i couldn't be bothered to go to the shop to get screws for the ceiling for them to hang from), so instead, they are just on the top of the wall!! And i have a few bright yellow/ green shoelaces "hanging" from corner to corner!

msbuggywinkle · 18/08/2011 08:08

kri5ty chances are that he has just moved, but the advice is that you should go in for any change in movements. I would go in, it will stop you worrying. You are not wasting their time at all! I love the sound of your jungle nursery, DD1 wouldn't let us get all creative in her room, she just wanted it red.

I do not want to be awake today! (unusual for me, I usually bounce out of bed) It was bloody freezing when I came downstairs so am bundled up in my fleece dressing gown (in AUGUST!) having a pint of tea before I face the world. Have Home ed friends coming round later to tire out the children, so could do with a quick tidy round so they have lots of space to make a giant mess...might make chocolate biscuits too, we have soooooo many eggs!

kri5ty · 18/08/2011 10:48

I know msbuggy i just don't want to waste their time, or time away from someone else who needs their time, i will ring after work though and see what they say :)

I love the sound of your afternoon!! Do you join in with the giant mess making?? I wouldn't be able to resist :o and i had my heating on in my car on the way to work... its soooo cold!!

HoneyLovesCake · 18/08/2011 11:00

kri5ty I think the guidelines are to count the kicks in the 3rd trimester (starting 28-30 weeks). I noticed a real drop in movements around 21-23 weeks, I wasn't worried but if you are then I'd make the phone call; it's what they're there for so make use of it. :)

kri5ty · 18/08/2011 13:19

He has woken up now :) its alot fainter than normal, so i am guessing he has just moved a little!!

aethelfleda · 18/08/2011 13:36

That's good kri5ty- keep a feel out and if you do get worried that no movements at all in a day (or babys pattern changes suddenly and it worried you), ring the labour ward/day assessment, they are always happy to chat and you're really not wasting their time.

mopsytop · 18/08/2011 15:35

Glad the baby wole up *kri5ty!
Isn't this weather pants? Summer my foot!

Awomancalledhorse · 18/08/2011 15:37

mopsy, I prefer the colder months so am very happy to be sitting here in a massive jumper (plus it's a bit more comfortable when we're all carrying around this excess weight)!! Grin

Glad he started moving about kri5ty, my squatter has just changed its routine and is now alive and kicking at 4am. Joy.

mopsytop · 18/08/2011 15:41

Now that you make that point AWCH I can kind of agree. I love the warm but breezy weather though but not when it's roasting and uncomfortable. But I would much prefer the breezy, balmy but not muggy weather of last weekend than this wet, miserable, grey weather.

My baby is quite active all day, which feels weird when I am cycling or something and he is kicking a beat in my tummy!

jomouse · 18/08/2011 15:46

Hello everyone - mopsy the weather is, indeed, poo
kri5ty - glad minik is making his/her presence felt now. Try not to worry (easier said than done I know)
I have devoured a whole load of rose and violet cream chocolates today (I mean, how old am I? 70??) just really FANCIED them. I have now put on 6kg and have a lovely double chin...chocolate scoffing isn't helping this one bit.

I am going to have a lovely pedicure this evening - a proper one with skin shaving and everything. Wooohooo!

Can work be finished soon please? I have been faffing around on baby sites much more than I should today. 51 working days to go!

mopsytop · 18/08/2011 15:50

ooooooh I want a pedicure!
