Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

i had really bad stomach pains all day yesterday and ended up off work in the afternoon and now today have a pain in my eye was wondering if i was suffering cos didnt really eat much yesterday but now thinking it is just a headache boo. Better sort itself out by tomorrow off to cardiff to the rugby with DH and chums should be good even if have to watch the rest of them supping pints while i enjoy my single shandy!!

23 weeks today and 1 stone 2lbs up which not happy with but could be worse still trying to curb the carbs!! Got home yesterday to 3 packages from mother full of baby clothes she seems to have gone mad at tesco and asda lots of clothes, part of me thinks that is better than having a few more expensive items as collectively it might last longer and still not as expensive. She does seem to have bought a lot of first size stuff which only goes up to 9lbs fingers crossed for a 7lber.

kri5ty · 12/08/2011 12:35

I tried swimming when i was on holiday, but it felt strange, kind of like all my stomach muscles were being pulled apart Hmm

I did plan on going for walks everyday, but the weather has been so rubbish and i don't fancy walking in the mud!

OiMissus · 12/08/2011 12:58

figgy hope you feel better for the rugby - especially for the shandy!
A colleague at work gave me some very good advice: don't save any of the baby's clothes for best. They grow so quickly you'll find it's only been worn once before it's too small.
jo 80 minutes walking every day is definitely good exercise!
Just found out this morning that the Inland Rev have messed up my tax code... I now owe them money. Over £1k. I am really not happy and there's nothing I can do - they'll spread the repayments out over time by adjusting my new code... but that doesn't help much. Grrrrrr!!

kri5ty · 12/08/2011 13:00

aww hun thats poop :(
You certainly don't need it with a bundle of joy on the way!

OiMissus · 12/08/2011 13:19

I know. I'm furious. I had a wage increase three months ago and have been using the first pay check figure to budget future mortgage/nursery expenditure/ savings for maternity leave... Now I've found out that I will take home less AND I now owe money. I should have known it wasn't right. (I always leave these things to the experts...) Stupid me.
Happy Friday! Angry

mopsytop · 12/08/2011 13:20

That totally sucks OiMissus. How annoying :( how long til it gets back to normal?

mopsytop · 12/08/2011 13:21

To change the subject totally, how much does your womb stretching hurt? I have been having really bad stretchy pains in my left and right sides low down, and it's particularly bad when I am cycling for some reason ...

figgygal · 12/08/2011 13:27

Ive not had any stretchy pains since about week 7 just seem to be silently and painlessly expanding.
that is rubbish Oimissus happened to me when i had 2 jobs just after uni and i swear it took about 4 years to sort out and pay back not what you need when you looking at SMP and how much less money you going to have soon.

OiMissus · 12/08/2011 13:42

mopsy dunno how long it may take to sort out. The bloke at the Inland rev was barely legible (intelligible/comprehendible... what's the word?!) I couldn't understand him anyway!
But, big breath, vent over.
Back to subject - I get all kinds of discomfort/muscular type "growing pains"... sometimes it's just an achey twingey feeling, and at others it can be quite painful. I've not had anything bad for a couple of weeks, but I have no idea what's normal.
The baby is now making up for lack of growing pains by constantly kicking me in the ribs. Methinks he will be a cagefighter when he grows big and strong.

sevensevenseven · 12/08/2011 13:42

Sorry oimissus that's rubbish.

No stretchy pains here either.

I meant to say that our crib arrived yesterday. Now I just want to buy some sleepsuits and we need blankets if it's a girl. Other than that I think we have nearly everything.

I've got an app on my iPhone where you can listen to the baby's heartbeat, apparently it works from 30 weeks. No heartbeat yet but I could hear the baby kicking. It also always you to make recordings so I can play it to DH when he gets home.

jomouse · 12/08/2011 13:43

No no - my walking time is 40 mins a day, not 80 - I included both ways in the calculation :)
Well...24 weeks today. Thats 6 months isn't it? Sorry for swearing but, of fuuuuuckkkkkkkkk! How the hell did that happen?
I had stetchy pains, I now have stabby pains in my bits - apparently also quite normal but bloody uncomfy.

jomouse · 12/08/2011 13:46

Hey seven , whats the name of that app?

mopsytop · 12/08/2011 13:48

seven how come you need blankets if it's a girl but not a boy? I am confused! Don't both need blankets?

OiMissus · 12/08/2011 13:54

jomouse 24 weeks - me too - I thought it meant we were now in T3, but no, that's at 26 weeks. :( but yep, 6 months! Yikes! (Yikes is the technical term for fuuuuuckkkkkkkkk!)
what's the app seven? !!

mopsytop · 12/08/2011 14:00

I think I just felt a kick! I am 21 weeks so that would be about normal?
Does it just feel like sort of a little shock? In the lower tummy area?

msbuggywinkle · 12/08/2011 14:03

24 weeks is viability too...which always feels like a big milestone for me! (22 weeks tomorrow!)

mopsy Yes! Hurray!

mopsytop · 12/08/2011 14:04

Yay! It was only one. I know it might get annoying later but I want it to do some more!

OiMissus · 12/08/2011 14:29

I don't know what viability is, but it sounds good. :)
Congratulations mopsy! It's great when you start to feel something more definite! Little shocks - yep, that sounds about right. I got one kick/thump. Then the next day, quite a few. And yesterday and today he's having a full on party. - But he's quiet in the evenings, so Stu's not felt anything yet.

mopsytop · 12/08/2011 14:31

oooh hopefully he/she will give me a few more indications of his/her presence soon then - exciting. It's lovely to know they're in there and ok!

OiMissus · 12/08/2011 14:33

mopsy is it the "My Baby's Beat" app from matis inc for £2.49?

OiMissus · 12/08/2011 14:35

sorry - not mopsy it was seven with the app.

mopsytop · 12/08/2011 14:35

Oimissus I think it's seven who has the app. I have a very basic Nokia - no such thing as apps on that :)

IssyStark · 12/08/2011 14:37

Hi folks! Saying hello again after a few weeks of silence due to felling too tired at home/being too busy at work. Currently I'm procrastinating at work Smile

As I barely post, a quick reminder: 22.5w, due 11 Dec, I'm 40 yo and this is preg #10 due to miscarriages but we do have a ds, aged 4.5yo.

I too have put on a ton of weight this pregnancy: about 1 stone 5lbs which is more than I put on my previous pregnancy (however I started off overweight on that one). I'm hoping that breastfeeding does the same trick and the weight will just fall off.

Congrats mopsy on feeling a movement. As they used to say, your womb had quickened Wink

Oimissus I'm jealous of your one being quite in the evenings - that's when mine decides to wake up and jog around, particularly when I'm trying to fall asleep!

HoneyLovesCake · 12/08/2011 14:46

I'm 24 weeks today too but I'm counting it as 5 months because 6 is just terrifying!!!! [denial smiley] 2 more weeks 'til the 2nd TM Shock feel free to swear jomouse I know I am Wink

OiMissus sorry about your taxes :( that really is the worst. Viabiliity = baby can now survive outside the womb (with lots of intervention) :) , still possible before then but odds raise significantly at 24 weeks.

lalababy · 12/08/2011 16:07

hi all... now you are just making me feel bad... I GAVE UP on all forms of exercise the minute I found out I was pregnant. Instead I have this fab routine called... sit on my bum, stuff my face with biscuits and see how fat I can get :) And so far I am doing pretty good I have put on a stone Grin

My bump is growing well and will put up a picture on my profile this weekend... !

No strechy pains yet!

Oimissus So sorry :) I am an accountant and it doesn't even make sence to me!!!

plus... I COMPLETED... rushing over to the Agent to pick up the keys to MY NEW HOME!!!! Mine mine mine mine... [and DH too I guess :) ]
