Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Hello everyone, not posted for a while. I'm 21 weeks now and getting loads of kicks! I wonder if it is because I don't have any stomach muscles so i can feel them easily?!

Had my 20 week scan last week and they want to rescan me on Monday because they thought the bowel looked a bit bright which can mean some kind of obstruction. The sonographer told me there was a very very very low chance that anything was wrong and that she was just being picky but it is so hard not to worry! DS was 10 weeks early so i am already worrying about premature labour and don't need anything else to worry about! At least its not long to wait for the scan.

Figgygal - With DS we were given a lot of hand-me-downs and I actually found that Asda clothes lasted better and stayed softer after washing than some of the more expensive brands e.g. John Lewis. And I think its best to have more cheap stuff than fewer expensive things as then you don't have to do laundry so often when the baby pukes up for the 10th time that day! And they do grow so quickly.

Just bought a cotbed for DS so that the baby can have his cot eventually (will be in moses basket at first of course). I can't set it up yet though as I work from home and have a big desk in the room that DS will move into. Am going to do it as soon as I'm on maternity leave though! Not sure when to move DS - I think ideally it would be best before the baby comes but if I move him DH won't have a spare room to sleep in (other than the sofa) to get a good night's sleep when the baby is in our room.

Sorry for the long post! Hadn't meant to write so much!

Mmmmcheese · 12/08/2011 16:10

Lalababy - My consultant has banned me from doing any exercise at all so I am slowly turning to jelly :o

mopsytop · 12/08/2011 16:12

Woohoo lala congrats SO EXCITING!

BluebellsintheSpring · 12/08/2011 16:38

Ohhh - had been putting off weighing myself but bit the bullet and did it. I've put on a stone -24 weeks tmrw. I'll live with it - so long as baby is happy and healthy! Mine also kicks off around 11/12pm and seems to just spend an hour or two going absolutely mad with movement!

lala congrats on the house!

seven also would love to know what that app is?

Hope everyone has fun things planned for their weekend.

sevensevenseven · 12/08/2011 16:39

The app is my baby's beat, as I said no hb heard as yet but the kicks prove it works I guess.

jomouse nearly all of our blankets are blue from DS.

kri5ty · 12/08/2011 17:43

I HAVE KICKS TODAY TOO!!! :o I can feel them on the outside too... placenta must have finally moved! 22 + 3

sevensevenseven · 12/08/2011 17:54

Congratulations to everyone feeling their first kicks, very exciting!

I can't believe I only started this thread on Sunday night and we're already over a third full.

Awomancalledhorse · 12/08/2011 18:35

Congrats to everyone feeling their child beat them up!! Grin

Baby Brain Moment of the Day; Forgot my pin number in the pub, bloke looked at me like Hmm, had to borrow cash from my mate. Still have no idea what my pin number is!!
I did, however, go for my first pregnancy jog today. It will also be my last pregnancy jog!!

sevensevenseven · 12/08/2011 18:40

AWCH at least you made the effort to jog, hopefully you'll remember your pin number soon!

Awomancalledhorse · 12/08/2011 18:47

seven, I'll be fine when (if?) DH ever gets home as I know his pin number & card details off by heart (mwhahaha)!

I've been doing those pelvic things, and some squats everyday..but finding it hard to 'bother' working out (esp. when you can't do weights or any abs stuff).

What's everyone upto this weekend??

Woofsaidtheladybird · 12/08/2011 18:56

Wooooow this is a whizzy thread! Thanks for the welcome! Just having 2 minutes of light relief on here whilst DD calms down from her tantrum from hell (hooray for Ben and Holly), and also a well deserved cup after one of my worst days at work for a long time. Tears and swearing loudly included, but thankfully no flounces. I had a very rude person on the phone and I was practically biting my tongue so as not to be rude back. I could feel my heart pounding and my baby was going bonkers, so not good really!

Am 20 weeks today, and my scans next Wednesday - we hope to find out the sex but we're not too bothered if they can't tell.

Re creams I'm sure the last time I was pregnant I used some VERY lush stuff from the Sanctuary, special pregnancy cream stuff. I tried Bio oil but felt like a chip and the cocoa butter whiff made me queasy!

As for weighing, I'm not bothering. I'll just get too upset!

Will go and add myself to the stats....

sevensevenseven · 12/08/2011 20:08

AWCH thanks for reminding me about pelvic floor exercises, I keep bloody forgetting and haven't done any for ages Blush

Hi woof, sorry you've had such a crap day. Normally I'd recommend a large Wine but I'll send you virtual chocolate instead.

msbuggywinkle · 12/08/2011 20:38

Lots of pelvic floor exercises everyone! I have had my pelvic floor complimented by midwives both times so far [preens] odd compliment that it is!

I discovered pregnancy yoga podcasts today so managed about 20mins before I'd had enough of being used as a climbing frame by the DDs!

mopsytop · 12/08/2011 20:39

Ugh pelvic floors. Need to DO MORE!
How many/how many times a day is good mrsbuggy ? Also do you do front/back/middle part of muscle separately or just squeeze all together? Thanks for any tips!!

msbuggywinkle · 12/08/2011 21:02

I do long holds (count to 10) 10 times and gradual lifts 100 times. That is one set, I do 2 or more a day. I admit to being a bit weirdly obsessed with doing them though!

mopsytop · 12/08/2011 21:03

what is a gradual lift?

kri5ty · 12/08/2011 21:07

I have done no pelvic floors at all... Ooops!

SO bored tonight, I think my hormones are getting the better of me. I finish work at half 1, spend my afternoons and evenings in house alone... until 8 when OH gets home, by which time I'm getting ready for bed... tonight I looked forward to having an evening with him, but he told me yesterday he was going out, so I saw him for 5 mins while he got changed... and I'm fed up of only seeing him for 1 afternoon a week... of course he doesn't understand and I know its my hormones, but I needed a rant lol sorry girlies x

kri5ty · 12/08/2011 21:09

Big hugs woof x x x

mopsytop · 12/08/2011 21:16

Sorry work was so shite woof. I think it's normal to feel like that kri5ty! I'd be the same.

Right am going to start doing my pelvic floors every day!

msbuggywinkle · 12/08/2011 21:24

Erm, only way it makes sense to describe it is imagining you have a pelvic floor lift and you're going 1st floor, 2nd floor, 3rd floor until you can't lift any more, then back down floor by floor.

mopsytop · 12/08/2011 21:29

Oh I understand. But a hundred times? That must take ages! I find I can't do them and do other things at the same time ...

kri5ty · 12/08/2011 21:31

100 times?! I can't even get to 10 without getting distracted!! I end up concentrating so much I forget to breathe!

mopsytop · 12/08/2011 21:36

me too! I am going to start doing them when brushing my teeth morning and evening. That will have dual purpose of remembering to do them and brushing my teeth for longer!

mopsytop · 12/08/2011 21:37

Right, enjoy the rest of your Friday evening everyone, I am off to bed!! My Friday nights are just too exciting these days!!!!!

msbuggywinkle · 12/08/2011 21:40

I do them whenever DD2 comes over for milk!
