Welcome to the new thread ladies!

lala mama mio oil is gorgeous. It's not oily at all; doesn't leave marks on clothes or anything. Very light & smells incredible; it's my little bit of luxury morning & night. I bought a bottle as soon as I got a +ve pg test & it lasted aaaages (about 4 months) but I'm on the second bottle now & it's going a lot faster...there is a lot more of me though Blush. I'll probably get through another bottle & as I said I'm eyeing up their Tummy Rub Butter too.

I think I'd love that spa as I'm addicted to the Gravida scent they use, it's a blend of pregnancy specific essential oils; apparently you have to be careful with scented oils as certain ones can trigger contractions Shock I'd highly recommend it now (for the scent alone) but it's really too early to tell if it's worked or not; I'll let you know in a month or 2 Wink

jomouse · 11/08/2011 15:51

So pleased lala - and a litttle bit envious
oimissus our turn next! :)

On the stretchmark front, I understand there precious little you can do about stretchmarks. If you're going to get them, you'll get them. I know this isn't what any of us want to hear!
I'm using the Mamamio stretchmark cream like honey - smells absolutely amazing and stops the itching a treat, so also using it on my boobs. Been caught one too many times furiously scratching with a pen down my top...
Bio oil feels too greasy to me

HoneyLovesCake · 11/08/2011 15:51

Calcium + 1 of your 5 a day - sounds pretty good to me Wink

mopsytop · 11/08/2011 16:02

Well, will see how I get on with Bio Oil and if it's too greasy will try either the mama mio or clarins.

YBR · 11/08/2011 16:05

lala my mum too! Only she went round the you must drink lakes of milk thing while I had morning sickness and just the thought of milk would make me feel worse.
I kept telling her that, and that I'd rather be retaining some nutrients than throwing the right ones back up. She moved onto lettuce "contains morphine you know" Hmm so I replied that it would help my headaches.

You could tell your mum that almonds contain cyanide (actually bitter almonds, but not sweet almonds, contain prussic acid which can be refined to make cyanide). Wink

DarciesmumandBump2 · 11/08/2011 16:10

Hey Ladies.

Stretch marks are growing Shock got really tiny ones with Darcie that you couldn't even see, I'm using Palmers Cocoa butter formula for stretchmarks.

Congrats Lala

Done some clearing of the room which will be the nursery, DP wasn't too happy that I'd done it when he was out with Darcie but its done now just the boxes need to go in the loft. I need to purchase some wall stickers and some more Wicker baskets.

DarciesmumandBump2 · 11/08/2011 16:17

I've added a pic of bump which was taken today :)

OiMissus · 11/08/2011 16:28

And a very neat bump it is too darcies! :)
I'm so envious (and pleased for you!) that some of you are able to start nesting! I'm itching to get started!
ybr cyanide = bad, apple turnovers = fruit = good. Thank you for helping to confirm that I'm on the right track. :)

DarciesmumandBump2 · 11/08/2011 16:38

I love fresh cream apple turnovers trouble is if I eat one I want to eat more Grin

OiMissus Thanks I was told by my nan today I looked like I was preggers with a baby elephant Hmm

OiMissus · 11/08/2011 16:42

Families - they are the cyanide!!! Unbelievable! They love us and mean well - so why do they say such things!!?? (Or does the bump have wings - another angel! - and your nan mistook them for ears?)

jomouse · 11/08/2011 16:43

beautiful bump Darcies!

LittleMissFlustered · 11/08/2011 21:18

Food question:

Is it wrong that I want to make a big pan of savoury mince and eat the lot with half a loaf of bread? >_

sevensevenseven · 11/08/2011 21:34

Just remember people mean well with their advice, even if it is annoying or incorrect. My MIL told me a couple of weeks ago I'm not allowed to eat cheese Hmm. I'm also using Palmers Cocoa Butter, i used it last time and didn't get any stretchmarks.

kri5ty if you're planning to use formula have you considered using cartons when you're out? More expensive but a million times easier. I'd also recommend using them for the first few days after the birth rather than making up bottles.

We had my MIL round today, racist with old-fashioned views. We normally get at least one controversial comment, today we had that the riots have only happened in black communities, the children rioting are all the children of single mothers and it's only black kids who leave school unable to read Shock Angry

sevensevenseven · 11/08/2011 21:35

LittleMiss is it wrong that all I want to eat is sweets and chocolate?

BluebellsintheSpring · 11/08/2011 21:58

Oh dear - feel very bad. Have done v. Little to protect against stretch marks. Have some Bio Oil (which I also find greasy) and apply once every so often. Think I've been a bit complacent with it all - was told they were hereditary and mum never had them so was just hoping I'd be okay (whereas my sister - also preggars - has been obsessive about it since Day one).

Scared now as already feel so stretched and can't believe I have to stretch so much more - there's bound to be marks left behind! Will begin a new day and night routine on the Bio Oil starting immediately and am going to look into some Mama Mio oil - it sounds lovely!

KateM77 · 11/08/2011 22:19

Wow! This thread moves fast.

The massage I had wasn't on an indented table, but on a giant bean bag on the floor. It was kind of wedge-shaped with your head raised, your bum at the bottom of it and your legs along the floor. It was soooo comfy. I was at Whittlebury Hall spa, which was lovely. Easily spent a whole day there despite not being able to do the jacuzzi and sauna.

I use Body Shop body butter and didn't get any stretch marks last time. Treated myself to the Japanese Camellia oil they used in the massage yesterday too though :)

LittleMissFlustered · 11/08/2011 22:38

seven Calorifically it'll end up the same, so go for it for a wee while. I just want need things that are full of salt. I am a bad person:)

For all of you with parents and in-laws giving you randomness, I have the perfect solve all. Don't tell them you're pregnant... Granted this might not work for everyone, but it's working for me so far >_

notlettingthefearshow · 11/08/2011 22:43

I'm due Xmas Day with our first baby! No bump or movement yet but fingers crossed any minute now! Scan showed baby all curled up and looking very sleepy, and they couldn't get all the measurements so I need to go back. Another scan = bonus. I love the scans!

I'm going to evening antenatal classes (NCT) and have also found pregnancy yoga classes locally in the evenings. I had high hopes of aquanatal over a Friday lunchtime but like others are saying, it feels a bit cheeky, and would be inconvenient for work (I teach, and there are lots of classes on a Friday). Work have been very good to me so I don't want to push my luck! I go swimming regularly so hopefully can keep that up.

I thought I would work til 36 weeks - how about everyone else?

Cherrypi · 11/08/2011 22:50

Hey all. Wish my family won't prone to stretch marks. Oh well I didn't have a bikini body before hand so not losing much. Starting maternity leave at 37 weeks as my class have an exam the week before. Hopefully will be able to continue till then but already slowing down.

OiMissus · 12/08/2011 07:19

Morning all, eating Rice krispies and reading about pan-fulls of mince - and I was still considering how nice that would be. So littlemf there's no hiding being pregnant!
I've submitted my plan to work til the end of week 37. We'll see how that goes... but I can work from home if I need to, so I may be OK. Not slowing down yet, but spending far to much time on here!

kri5ty · 12/08/2011 07:37

For all of you that want boi oil, but tink its too expensive... i get mine off ebay, its £30 for 3 bottles

Pans full of mince?? Hell no... i made some the other day (i intended on freezing it... but i ate 2 bowls full!

Rice krispies??! I have just had my daily bacon and sausage sandwhich for breakfast!

Ooo yay lala i bet you are soooo happy!! Also my OH just goes along with what i say about the nursery... i think my best friend shamed him in to it, as she sent him a load of emails in secret, saying she was going to decorate it without me kowing, and did he think i would like certain things... he pretends he is interested, but i know he is just keeping me happy! He keeps saying "the shops will still be there in a couple of months", but he knows what i am like, and has given up, now i just say to him "which do you prefer out of these 3?" , then i buy it lol
awch an os map... that is exactly what my thighs and bum look like!! Also thanks for the tip about the vitamin E cream... i use boi oil at night, but its too oily to use in the day... so i will buy some of that :o
figgy where did you get your stickers from? We need some more lol
honey mmmmm you have me day dreaming of lovely food now!! :)

kri5ty · 12/08/2011 07:38

bio oil* omg, honestly i am never this bad at typing... i blame the crappy works keyboard from the 1980s!

OiMissus · 12/08/2011 07:50

I told my mum that the baby had started kicking. Her response: "Maybe it's telling you to eat more because it wants a comfier bed to lie on." - You've seen my bump picture, does it look like I'm starving?!! No! I've put on almost 1 stone since becoming preggers, and I was already a bit overweight. (5'2 and 11 stone now!!!)
kri5ty I could eat what I wanted when I was your age, and often still do, but I'm 38 now - things move m o r e s l o w l y. :(

kri5ty · 12/08/2011 08:08

i know oimissus thats why i need to stop, because one day it will catch up with me, but i will carry on eating this way anyway! Its easier when i am doing my actual job, as i can take food in with me, but with what i am doing at the moment, there is no where to heat food up etc :( i have put on 1.5 stone already!! But.. i think my body needed to put extra on :)

kri5ty · 12/08/2011 08:08

I'm still jealous of your kicks!!
