princess much sympathies on the inlaws, I had a nightmare with DS1 with the inlaws, made my life so stressful to the extent that even now I dread his parents coming round and they've been much better this time (Mr E had to have words last time as they were forever pissing us off). I remember having to tell MIL three times to give him my son as he was hungry, she said "he's eating my cardigan" I said "It's because he's hungry, I'll take him for a feed", she says, "no, he's fine.." I say, "No, I'll take him", she says "he'd soon let you know if he was hungry" (I imagine punching her, then physically start taking him out of her arms before she lets go of him). My poor boy was trying to eat wool!? But in her book, you dont' feed babies until they are screaming their lungs out as that is them 'telling' you... (bloody inlaws).
I'm raising both my boys veggie with the understanding that if they want to start eating meat at any point that's absolutely fine, I just wanted to give them a clean slate to start (and also, as I'm veggie and do all the cooking I'd never cook meat for them, so we have a veggie house and Mr E eats his meat elsewhere
.
Hamish's brother has just turned 4 and just started asking questions about it all, so we've had some classic 'daddy do you eat monkey?' questions going on, he also asked 'daddy do you eat horse' and when Mr E said No, I had to point out that well, he doesn't really know that....
. He may well turn carnivore when he starts school, but for now he thinks eating meat is 'disgusting' so Mr E is on his own.
Weaning is going fine, he seems to be liking it so far (I'm a bit lacksadaisical and sometimes he gets lunch and dinner or bfast and dinner or bfast and lunch and other days he just gets lunch or dinner, but he's only been on solids for 2 weeks so I'm not worried, think we did this last time round too).
He's still not in a highchair as he can't sit up by himself for long (although he's getting better) so he has to sit on our knee for teatimes which is very messy (for us!) It'll be good when he can sit in his highchair and we can just put stuff on his tray and let him at it.
His sleeping seems to be much worse since weaning though, he's having random poohs (sometimes at night) more gas (which can wake him up) and he's feeding more often during the night (sometimes 2 hourly) probably a coincidence but I can't help thinking its linked to his digestion system having to work a bit harder now. He used to sleep so well too, ah well, we made the most of it while it lasted :-D
I was so pleased about the buggy class as I'd looked for buggy fit classes nearby and there was none, and then found out about this class run by an independent trainer (who does a 'normal' fitness class in our wee town once a week) who has just branched out into post natal fitness. So, very lucky really (although suffering from DOMS today...)
