Kayzr sorry to hear about the heartburn; I've had it since the 8th week with no real signs of abating. It's currently a lot less uncomfortable than it was in the first and second trimesters, but not gone completely. I also have better drugs now for the really bad days.

Just one thing to mention - my GP wouldn't prescribe Gaviscon as he said it had too much salt (or maybe sodium, not sure) for frequent use in pregnancy - I have magnesium triscillate now in liquid form. Do you have your free-prescription card yet? You can call up the GP and ask them if they wouldn't mind prescribing something for you so that you don't have to keep buying it!

trope · 31/10/2011 10:25

Bun totally agree - bedside cots seem to be at a ridiculous premium, which is bizarre given how enormously popular they are - there's a huge market for them, why hasn't mothercare, or somewhere else produced a cheaper version? It's not like they are the most complicated thing in the world. I particularly want the bednest as it's got the fold down side, but I have been toying with just getting an ikea cot, bodging it to have the same mattress height as our bed and making my own removable side instead. It does seem completely ridiculous to spend £300 on something we'll only use for 6 months (max!)

Hurrah for DS doing a wee in his potty - that's great!! Grin How frustrating about him undoing his safety gate! You will have to come up with a more complex solution now! Wink

ghost sorry the cold got you - but on the bright side, no fancy dress! So it worked out OK! Wink How frustrating about the coat in Debenhams! It really does seem to be ridiculously hard to find nice maternity wear for sensible prices - not to mention things that aren't navy, grey or black! I am so bored of looking like I should be at a funeral! Have a few baggy brightly coloured jumpers/cardigans (non maternity) that I'm wearing over my maternity jeans (only have 1 pair that fit - the pair I picked up at the NCT sale are too stretched for me yet - will be good in a few months I think) but am rapidly getting bored of wearing almost exactly the same clothes every day!

I reckon by about 6 months I'm just going to take to my PJs and stay home! Wink

Another one here with heartburn, is horrid :( Am making do with rennies for now, as some meds I take clash with most heartburn remedies and I can't be arsed with working out schedules of when I can take what - my brain is too tired and addled to manage that right now! Wink Am sleeping propped up on two pillows to avoid getting reflux in the night and trying to avoid foods that aggravate it. Plus, this way, I shall "feel the benefit" when I suffer even worse later on and have the stronger meds to fall back on!! Wink Interesting info about the gaviscon ghost thanks for sharing! :)

Davina Hope you are feeling a thousand times better today after what I hope was a lovely relaxing weekend!

We had a hectic Saturday - went to pick up our ebay cot (from the most amazing lodge house on a big estate a little way out of town - am so jealous!!) and it was in fab condition, just as the ad says, which is great! Then we went on up to Godalming to look at the Uppababy Vista - stopping for lunch at a really nice restaurant in Milford, had an absolutely amazing slap up lunch (celebrating DP's first week as a permanent member of staff in his job - he had been contract previously) including still warm freshly baked scones for dessert... mmm...

So we got a hands on with the Vista - it does indeed feel very big - the back wheels are quite enormous - but, it isn't actually that much bigger than many other buggies, it's just that it holds the cot/toddler seat up higher than most other buggies, so it feels bigger. I reckon it is actually no bigger than a phil & teds tbh - and I see them on Brighton & Hove buses all the time, so i'm not too worried about that aspect anymore. It really is a beautifully put together buggy - feels very high quality. The lady we spoke to at the shop said that she wouldn't really recommend anything else for us - it's easily the best option. Apparently people come in to look at quinny/bugaboo all the time and leave having ordered the Uppababy! Also, the shopping basket is VAST! I could almost fit in it! Wink Have put a photo up (with a decapitated DP in for scale!) on my profile so you can see one "in the flesh"! I think we're pretty much sold now - there's only a 2-4 week wait once you've ordered one, so we are going to wait till nearer the time to order. Apparently two new colours are coming out early next year ; an all black frame with a fully black buggy/cot and one with a bright pink cot/seat. Not my thing at all! Think we're going to go for the silvery grey one, as we can then put any colour buggysnuggle / blanket on it and it will look nice! (Which is obviously a very important consideration!! Wink)

After that we visited friends and went out for dinner with them too (it was an expensive Saturday). Sadly DP finally succumbed to the evil bug going around his office on Sunday - so it was something of a write off; I shopped, tidied the house, cooked a roast dinner and made halloween cookies for him to take to work! We sadly had to miss Dave Gorman as DP was too ill to go and sit in the theatre. :(

Oh, and I did my very first ever pumpkin!! Photos on my profile! :) I have some evil sugar filled haribo for trick or treaters tonight (we usually get quite a few groups of properly dressed up small kids with parents) and will put the pumpkin out on the doorstep until we run out of sweets!

Today - well, I was expecting the builders as it's dry and reasonably nice out - but they haven't arrived :( I think they've seen the clouds over the downs and assumed rain, but it's actually forecast to be dry down here in Hove. Am quite annoyed - about to email them to ask where they are. If they aren't coming I may go run some errands, otherwise I am home and working my way through my ebay pile, while washing the mountain of clothes sat in the basket upstairs... oh the fun I have!

I'm still waiting on my ebay coat too - hoping that arrives today as I am ridiculously excited about it and fretting that i've wasted £90 on something that won't fit!

And so endeth 'trope's Monday morning essay! Grin

Kayzr · 31/10/2011 10:27

I've been given gaviscon on prescription by my GP. It's the only thing which sorts it out.

BunMyOven · 31/10/2011 12:20

Trope it is a lot of money for a 6 months but you could get your money back from the resell - saw one go for £320!! Sorry, I'm being the devil on your shoulder telling you to spend your money aren't I? Grin

LOVE the cookies! Grin and the pumpkin, nice work!

Your DP really does look like a giant in that picture! Grin The pram looks and sounds great! Must be such a relief to find one that fits your criteria.

I suggested to DP that we replace the safety gate on DS's door with one with a different locking mechanism (and put the 'old' one on the kitchen when this little wriggler is a crawler) but he preferred the idea of lasers and pressure sensors Hmm Grin

Sounds like a lovely weekend! Sorry your DP is ill though and that you had to miss Dave Gorman Sad I had to miss Jimmy Carr last year because I was ill and was gutted (gave my tickets to a friend who got the ticket signed with a lovely message and a great photo of the main man with DP, and my sister bought me replacement tickets for the DVD filming night so all was not lost!), hope he's feeling better soon, I'm sure the roast dinner and Pacman cookies have helped! Grin
I'm sure I've seen that restaurant on TV a while ago, looks lovely!

Bloody builders! Angry They're a different breed! DP is having to work along side a horrible group of builders at the moment and he's hating it - they're racist, homophobic work-shy arseholes who get in the way deliberately apparently. Not all builders of course, these are a particularly shitty breed!

I'm a happy eBayer as I grabbed some bargains last night! Won this non-black, non-expensive M&S winter coat for £5! I usually refuse to get winter coats with no hoods but it was a fiver(!) and pretty Grin I also got a bundle of 7 pairs of Mothercare maternity/breastfeeding pyjamas for £18, a nice DP maternity top for £3 and a bundle of 13 Thomas the Tank Engine (DS's favourite thing in the entire universe) books and bed covers for £5, so he'll be happy when he looks in his Christmas stocking Smile

Finished my button Christmas tree on Saturday (there's a not very good picture on my profile). Next on the to do list is DS's Christmas stocking Confused This one makes me nervous. I haven't got a bloody clue what I'm doing! Question: am I supposed to have a clue what the dimensions of a piece of fabric are when it's listed simply as '2.4m of fabric'?! Confused

Am really suffering with heartburn too, have to take 4 Rennies before I can get to sleep at night lately, might be time to pay a visit to the Dr! Thanks for the info Ghost Smile

Ooh look, another Monday essay for you all to enjoy! Wink

ghosteditor · 31/10/2011 12:39

I love the bednest too but I couldn't face paying that for one; I know they've been reselling at sky high prices (I've watched several bids spiral out of control and have seen them go at >£300, which is crazy when you need to buy a new mattress too!) but that's only really because the stockists have been out of stock for several months now. As soon as they get the stock issue under control I suspect they'll start dropping back to around the halfway mark. Fortunately for us, FIL is a carpenter so we're buying a bednest mattress and FIL will be creating something similar for us for a much more reasonable price [sorry for the smug face, am just so happy to be getting one at a sensible price!]

trope · 31/10/2011 13:34

lol at bun being the devil on my shoulder! What you're saying is pretty much exactly what my inner monologue is - i'm back and forth on it right now!

I think lasers and pressure sensors sound like an awesome plan! ;) although you never want something so complex that you stuff it up when tired yourself! The house i grew up in has this big open staircase that you couldn't fit a safety gate to - so my parents built a wooden gate thing across the bottom and then piled a mountain of HUGE cushions at the bottom that were too high for the little kids to climb over - leaving us big kids with a challenge every day as well! Plus, eventually the littlest one would work it out and clamber over and we'd all have a heart attack when we found them halfway up the stairs hanging through the gap between the stairs to wave at us! Wink (i'm the eldest of 4, my youngest sister is 12 years younger than me - so this went on for quite a few years!)

Builders eventually rocked up around midday! No explanation, but they are at least getting on now. And on the bright side, they held the wobbly ladder for me so I could climb up on the scaffold and take a look at the wall ties up high (they even removed a few extra bricks so I could see in better) and have offered to write a letter confirming that they removed some bricks and viewed the wall ties and they are fine! Which could be very useful when we come to sell!

Downside is I was preparing to go out after lunch and am now stuck at home - but I shouldn't complain, the sooner this work is finished the better!

The builders your DP is working with sound awful :( Remind me the cowboys who did some work on our house when we first bought it. It's horrid being around people like that.

Woo for your ebay bargains! :) I received my pompoms/reindeer noses this morning, which is good. Less good is the email I just had from the seller of my coat saying it has been returned to her as "not know at this address" - which is no surprise really as it was an old address I haven't used for years. Everything my end, my paypal and ebay accounts and payment receipts, have my correct, current address on, so I am perplexed how she ended up with a really old one. I noticed when I won the items that ebay was pulling up an old address instead of my current one (which has been listed as my primary address for years and years), but I corrected it before paying and then went in and deleted the old address from my account, so I can only assume it's a bug in their system... :( Have sent her my receipts as proof I supplied the correct address and am waiting for a response from her. Hoping she can raise a dispute with ebay/paypal to get the postage refunded, as I'd really rather not pay for postage again and I don't see why she should be out of pocket either!

What a hassle - I just want my coat!!

Your button tree looks awesome! :) You really are getting into the xmas spirit aren't you!! Grin I think most fabric is 1m wide by default isn't it? Oops, no, a quick google suggests that fabric comes in 3 widths typically - depending on the type - have a look here for more info. Hope that helps! :)

BunMyOven · 01/11/2011 12:38

Ooh Ghost smug face away, that sounds fab! Envy

Trope I love the sound of the obstacle course to get up the stairs! Grin

Sounds like the builders made up for being late, that's really good Smile

That address mix up is bizarre! Hope it gets sorted soon, no way you should have to pay for the delivery again.

Grin I've always been a big kid when it comes to Christmas. Working a lot harder this year to make it special as it's our first Christmas at home as a family rather than going up to Wales. Can't wait to get our own little traditions started [soppy smile]

Thanks for the info on the fabric measurements! I had a lovely reply from the seller explaining it all too, still don''t understand why they don't just do the dimensions rather than expecting you to know the widths they're using though Confused sure I'll get the hang of it. Eventually.
Have ordered everything I need to make DS's stocking this morning, no going back now! Confused Think I'll spend a few days just looking at everything once it's here, trying to build up the courage to get started Grin

Carlitawantsababy · 01/11/2011 16:14

Hi! Sounds like everyone is well (that's my really poor excuse at catching up with the last couple of days, I did read it all though, promise Grin)
davina how are you getting on? Smile

OP posts:
trope · 02/11/2011 08:54

Morning all! Gosh it's gone quiet in here!

Well the ebay coat saga rumbles on - the seller has insisted on sending it to me at her own cost - despite it being no more her fault than mine. Ebay is insisting it's paypal that gave out the wrong address (which seems unlikely, as I'm 90% sure they never had my old work address) and paypal are insisting that I must have selected the wrong address from my "saved" addresses when I went to pay. I've suggested the seller forward customer support my paypal and ebay receipts, as both show I entered the correct address. The entire thing is just bizarre. Hopefully my coat will arrive today though, so that's something!

bun so lovely that you're going to have your first christmas home together as a family - can't wait to do that myself!! I've been reading lots of xmas threads to see what traditions other people have; i'm liking the idea of new xmas pyjamas every xmas eve and a film watched all together on the sofa with popcorn! The one (one!!! in nearly 14 years!!!) xmas that DP and I have spent alone we went for a walk along the beach before a late xmas lunch and it was lovely; lots of people appear to do this, so the beach is full of happy smiling people and there is the most lovely atmosphere. Lots of kids on (new?) bikes and laughter, felt very special! Personally I would love it to snow, (not least as we'd have to stay put in Hove over the xmas break, instead of heading off doing family visits!!) but at the same time i'm a bit nervous about snow now, just in case we need to get out to the hospital for any reason!

I'm having a bit of a shit week - I get blood tests done every 6 weeks to monitor my immune system/make sure my meds aren't pulverising my liver and sadly my most recent blood test results confirmed what I'd been fearing; my immune system is overactive again. I'm not in remission anymore :( It's not completely out of control and I have had a few blips like this since I went into remission that have resolved themselves, so i'm trying not to think the worst. I was staying reasonably calm, until I got a call from the hospital yesterday saying that my consultant wanted me in to see him this week. There's usually a 6-12 week wait for emergency appointments, but they were able to get me in within days... Confused On the bright side though, they called back half an hour later to say my lovely lady consultant is actually back and they can get me in to see her instead if i want, so that's something. Am off up the hospital at the end of the day today and just have to hope that there isn't something worse lurking in my blood test results than the inflammation factor rise that I spotted (my doctors surgery are useless and don't know how to interpret my bloods, so I just get them to write down the 3 key results that I need to monitor my inflammation and ability to fight infection - ESR, CRP and WBC - so if something else was wrong I wouldn't necessarily know).

I'm hoping they are just being unusually efficient as i'm pregnant and are getting me in to assess me given the bad inflammation results. But it is worrying me. Plus, really stupid I know, I haven't had to get up to wee the last couple of nights, and my breasts are hardly sore at all and I haven't felt fuzzy move yet (and yes, I know it's early for a first timer, but still...) and i'm just starting to worry that the flare has affected fuzzy... I haven't had any pain or bleeding, so i'm aware i'm being paranoid, it's just a bad fearful feeling; i always knew this pregnancy was likely to be problematic, it had just been going so well I got lulled into a bit of a false sense of security for a while there. So anyway, i'm just counting down the hours till I see my consultant and hoping for the best.

The builders are due here this morning; the scratch coat is on, so they are going to do the final coat around the windows/front door, but they need to wait for a long dry day to properly do the front of the house (they need to do it all in one day, otherwise you get join marks between render put on at different times). And, rather brilliantly, I managed to leave my new prescription of medication in the car when I dropped it off at the garage yesterday evening - so i've got to bus it over to shoreham later to pick it up... and DP is working late.. (and off to NY on Sunday). All in all, not liking this week at all...

ghosteditor · 02/11/2011 09:43

trope that sounds worrying; hope you're doing ok and great that you'll get some answers soon. Pregnancy changes our bodies a lot, so here's hoping it's just a consequence of the pregnancy and will settle down soon. And fx that your coat arrives! I have given up on getting one - even the e-bay prices are high! Am hoping that a good warm scarf and my double breasted coat with a belt will get me through the next few months - because tomorrow I'm 30 weeks!!!

Carlitawantsababy · 02/11/2011 10:11

trope what a crappy week! I hope as you say they are just being very efficient and there's no more unwelcome news. If it makes you feel any better I also haven't had to get up to pee the last few nights but have felt the baby so know it isn't a problem..good news about your coat, finally!!
Wow ghost 30 weeks! The prices have gone up on eBay, wow, I got the black and white coat with the bow at the top (a buy it now, new one) and I'm very pleased with it but I paid less that it is on at now (slightly smug for being organised for once in life) Grin

OP posts:
trope · 02/11/2011 12:34

thank both for the reassuring words - I really appreciate it. carlita that is helpful actually - thank you! You're only a few weeks ahead of me so it's good to know! I know logically that in the 2nd trimester the uterus moves up and many people find they have to pee less, it's just hard to relax and feel calmed by logic sometimes! But hearing other peoples experiences is always more reassuring than words in a textbook! The fact that I'm having a super hormonal, tearful week really isn't helping things either here!

Predictably the builders were a no show - they "didn't like the look of the weather forecast"... grrr.... The rest of the week is due to rain so we're heading into week 3 now. Not at all happy, but not a whole lot I can do right now!

No sign of my coat either - but the post office can be a bit flaky delivering bigger parcels round my way, they do sometimes come at funny times of day, so I'm still hoping!

Good work on the organised early ordering carlita! It's nice when things work out well like that isn't it! :)

ghost WOW - 30 weeks! That's so exciting!! Potentially only 10 weeks till the first thread baby is born!! Grin I think i'd feel the same if I only had 10 weeks to go - it's such a large amount of money you have to spend to get a decent maternity coat and unless you're going to get loads of use out of it it just feels like a bit of a waste! Fingers crossed the warm scarf & coat combo work well for you! Apparently lots of women find they get hot / overheat easily in late pregnancy - maybe that will happen for you and you'll end up not really needing the coat (unless it rains!)

I'm 17 weeks today - rapidly coming up on halfway! Really hoping I start to feel some movement soon from fuzzy - would be more reassuring than anything else really!

Carlitawantsababy · 02/11/2011 14:24

My god trope are your builders made of sand or something, they seem terrified of the weather, don't know what it's been like in hove but here it has been a very fair October and November so far! Defo feel the pressure is lifting from my bladder as you say! Smile

OP posts:
trope · 02/11/2011 14:38

lol, quite! It has been a remarkably nice October! The work they are doing (external rendering) does require dry weather, but it seems as though rain anywhere in about a 100 mile radius is enough to have them running for cover! It has been cloudy here all day, but no rain at all and none due for another couple of hours. Most frustrating! Confused Bet it arrives just in time for me to get the bus to the hospital! Wink Would be just my luck!!

trope · 02/11/2011 21:51

aaaand I'm back! (Yep - half nine at night! Appt was 4.50pm, was seen at 7.30pm and spent about an hour with my lovely rheumatologist! No issue at all with waiting when I get to see someone so awesome). (I may also have stopped for a burger on my way home....Blush)

Well, everything is fine. I went in really fearing the worst and have come out grinning - god I love my rheumatologist!

The raised inflammation marker may well actually just be down to pregnancy; this particular marker increases during pregnancy in everyone! (Quite why my GPs surgery didn't know this I don't know...)(well I do, it's cos they're incompetent... but anyway). The other inflammation marker that we check is actually fine - not raised at all! So while it's entirely possible that I am having a blip with the arthritis, it is a very small one and is, as yet, absolutely nothing to worry about! The rest of my blood test results are perfect!! Absolutely no issues at all!

She also agreed with me that staying on my meds throughout seems like the best option and she's very happy to sign off on that. Also for me to breastfeed whilst on them too! She has made some suggestions about who to talk to about amending fuzzy's vaccination schedule (auto-immune runs in both mine and DPs family so we may need to adjust the schedule to be extra careful to not overload fuzzy's immune system) and agreed that we would need to take extra care around fuzzy having live vaccines (both to avoid infecting me and if fuzzy has any trace amounts of immunosuppressant present post birth, to be extra careful that they are able to safely respond to live vaccine).

The reason I was called in at short notice was nothing medical it turns out; it was due to her returning to work - today was her first day - and the consultants trying to process those patients who wished to stay with her and have meetings with everyone to discuss next steps. As I had a formal complaint and request to return to her in the system already, they just agreed I could see her and that would be that! So I ended up getting scheduled in her first clinic back - which we were both very happy about! (She is so nice, she seemed even happier to see me than I was to see her - was lovely getting to chat and catch up - she's so reassuring that I can manage this and it will all be OK!)

I think a part of me still won't relax till I feel fuzzy moving; the flare up, no matter how small, has got me spooked a little, but I really truly do feel a thousand times better having seen her. I feel excited again, instead of scared and stressed.

So basically my week just got a million times better! Grin

And with that I am done for the evening - it's fortnightly meds night and given how zonked I am already, I suspect post injection I shan't be making a lot of sense!

Hope you've all had good days too!

Davina Hope everything is OK with you! If things still aren't right do know that you can post on here and we're all here to listen/support you! No one is going to think you're being mememe or anything like that! Have my fingers crossed that you are just all better and busy back at work! :)

trope · 03/11/2011 08:28

another night without weeing... and another day without builders! At least they rang today to say so!

have I killed the thread??

ghosteditor · 03/11/2011 09:25

Phew! MN almost ate my post but I was saved by the back button! Here we go:

trope you're not having much luck with those builders! It does seem like it'll be a rainy day today though - heavy showers predicted here.

I'm really really pleased for you with your results - I did think that your consultant might have some gaps if she's only just come back but didn't want to say that in case I was wrong, but really really glad to hear it's good news for you. As for feeling the baby move, you're 17 weeks now, right? That's pretty early still. I had a few flutterings from 18/19 weeks but they felt exactly like muscle spasms, so I was never sure. By about 22 weeks I had tiny kicks but it's only been the last month or so where I've been feeling kicking and flailing all over the place. But then, I do have an anterior placenta which reduces the sensations quite a lot.

And as for peeing in the night - I drink crazy amounts of water and often had to get up in the night before pregnancy too, and I still have the odd night where I don't have to get up and go, if I sleep really well, so I wouldn't worry about that either Grin

30 weeks today - 3/4 of the way to my EDD and in theory I could be seeing a full term baby in as little as 7 weeks! EEEEEEK!!!

BunMyOven · 03/11/2011 11:57

Hi! Just popping my head round the door to say "yay!" for Trope! That's fantastic news! Try not to worry too much about not feeling movements (I know that's probably impossible though) it's only from around 17-20 weeks that 'they' expect you to be able to feel anything, sure you will very soon Smile My nightly toilet visits also died down around the second trimester, back with a vengeance now though so make the most of it! Grin
Also, so great that your lovely consultant said you'll be fine to breastfeed!! Really happy for you Smile

I love the Christmas Eve traditions too! We've already been buying DS a new Christmas tree decoration every year to put up on Christmas Eve (with the idea that by the time he moves out, he'll have his own collection of tree decorations hopefully with lovely memories attached) and of course, DD will have the same when she joins us next year. Am going to do a little Christmas eve parcel with new decoration, pyjamas, DVD/book and as they get older a mug with hot chocolate, marshmallows etc in so we can all snuggle up and embrace our lameness! Grin
Love the beach idea!! DS is getting a bike this year so sounds like a good way to start that one.
Stay at home this year if that's what you'd prefer and let people come to you! If you can't get away with it when you're pregnant, when can you?! DP and I have decided that this is going to be mostly the way we do things from now on and visit family in the new year instead, it's just such an unwanted stress with all the travelling with little ones and we just want to have 'our little family' enjoy Christmas our way.

Also thinking of you Davina, hope everything's ok?

Carlita love your catch-up style! Grin

Ghost! stop it! Shock I'm only 2/3 weeks behind you and am so far from ready it's scary, or at least it feels like I'm not ready..only actually have to get the crib and car seat sorted really, but the time is really flying and making me feel a little stressy and out of control Confused I've got a couple of friends that are due in the next couple of weeks and they're moaning all the time about how they just want it all over with and I couldn't feel any more different, I'm savouring every last minute! For now that is . . . Wink

DS's Thomas the Tank Engine £5 bundle of books and bedding arrived this morning and I couldn't believe the quality! It all looks brand new! Their child must have read those books wearing white gloves and using tweezers! DS's books a little...well loved in comparison Grin

I have a glorious new pregnancy ailment to add to my belt TMI ALERT piles! Oh joy! Sad Never had them with DS before or after birth so am gutted (or, for the pun lovers out there - 'bummed out') that I didn't get away with it this time round too. Urgh, so bloody undignified this pregnancy/child birth malarkey ain't it? Sad Blush Angry [ouch!]

So much for just 'popping my head round the door' ay? Articulate as ever . . .

ghosteditor · 03/11/2011 12:20

Grin bun, if it makes you feel any better, all we have so far is a cot that we don't intend to use until the baby is 6 months, some baby wipes that DH bought on buy 1 get 2 free, a few second hand blankets and clothes, and a few new sleepsuits/outfits that my family bought and knitted. No actual useful clothes, no car seat, no pram/slings (though we're borrowing those), no nappies, no hospital bag for me, no warm winter clothes for the baby, no muslins, nothing!

We are however making a mammoth shopping trip to Kiddicare next Friday Grin

MammaInTheMaking · 03/11/2011 13:32

Just wanted to say hi to everyone. Am still reading every one's posts every day and loving all of the positive news.

I'm 8+6 today and have my dating scan next week on Wednesday. I've been dreaming that it will all turn out ok and we can really start believing this is all real. But until then i'm not getting too carried away, hense probably no posting on here.

Sending some love :)

ghosteditor · 03/11/2011 13:55

hi mammainthemaking I was just wondering how you were getting on the other day - MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS!!! Keeping everything crossed that all goes well for you, and hope the scan is reassuring.

[hugs]

Ghost I haven't got the little things like nappies etc yet either - just basic clothes (vests and sleep suits) enough for the first few months, a couple of blankets and the pram (but only because we'll be using DS's! Need to add a sling to the list with crib and car seat as the things we need straight away. I don't think I'm too stressed about the 'stuff' side of it because after having DS I'm aware of how little a baby actually needs to be happy and we can always pop to the shop for extras when the baby's arrived. It's the mental preparations I've not started yet that's scaring me! My head's all over the place at the moment so I feel like I'm just getting carried away in a whirlwind - which really stresses me out because I have to have everything planned and worked out with lists etc to feel in my comfort zone. Actually I've just remembered saying the exact same thing when I was pregnant with DS! Grin
Sorry, I'm rambling! Blush

Hi Mamma! Lovely to hear from you! Smile Huge congratulations and best wishes for Wednesday! I'll be thinking of you and keeping an eye out on the thread Smile

Aww you're all so lovely :) i really hope hope hope they find everything i'm willing them to find. DP and I are talking about it all more and more so if things go wrong we'd be crushed. But we're both super optimistic so that's as good as it can be right now. I've been pumping my body full of fruit and fresh veg and smoothies. Am trying to prime it to look after the baby... 6 days to go! x
