voodoo I know what you mean, for me it is dependent on baby's position - some days I'm fine others toilet trips are constant with very little output!! Today was bad with baby in poor position for my bladder & hiccups!!

Caliphora · 03/09/2011 22:16

cep The mental health staff have to, to avoid being accused of professional neglect.

bump and voodoo - When LO has been so good and settled head down for good, you'd think she'd have the courtesy to also stop head butting my bladder! Head down and hick-ups is... a special sensation...

voodoomunkee · 03/09/2011 22:22

ha Cali and Bump am with you both! Im not actually drinking enough to need to wee this much though surely? The hiccups and sensation that she is dragging her fingers along my bladder is very odd! Also a little painful at times too.

Caliphora · 03/09/2011 22:31

voodoo The worst is the feeling of her rotating in there - she now does full body-about manoeuvres, and I can see her whole body shift. Weeeeeiiiird.
32 weeks on Monday!

voodoomunkee · 03/09/2011 22:45

Oh Yes! I was just sitting watching telly and had a cushion on my belly. She kicked that hard the cushion leapt up a bit. 32 already? Am a week behind you! 31 on Tuesday. The twitchy/achy legs is not showing any signs of abating at the moment. I cant get comfy at all. Here start the 3rd trimester woes for me I think!

Caliphora · 03/09/2011 22:53

I'm due 31st Oct (snuck in here because my first EDD was 4th Nov) - although I'm hoping the last 8 weeks will be quick - I'm paying for having an easy 1st trimester!

I had a spat last week where my legs went mad - all passed now and it's my carpal tunnel that is horrific - my left hand is asleep/pins and needles constantly. Plus feeling sick all the time - she's a long baby - head engaged and pushing on my stomach really bad. Acid reflux all the time, too :(

I keep repeating "It'll all be worth it in the end" over and over again, I hope it's true!

voodoomunkee · 03/09/2011 22:57

Ah man I have Carpal Tunnel when not pregnant so I can totally not empathise. It hurts! One op down and fortunately it isnt playing up too much in the other hand at the moment or I would be crying a lot! I have acid reflux/heartburn an awful lot as well. Very nasty and I cant eat as feel full very quickly, only I am actally still hungry and this then makes the acid bits worse as nothing there in my stomach it seems like. Ha listen to us monopolising the thread with our moans! Apologies! I do feel much better for it though so thanks as well Grin

Caliphora · 03/09/2011 23:33

Well, it's Saturday night and we've got nothing else to do...!

I had the leanings to CTS before I got pregnant, so I may ask for an op if it doesn't clear out after baby is here.

Had another "OMG I'm so keen, I can't contain myself" emails from my mother. She's now making a set of home sewn, personalised duvet covers for Sprout. And she's gone out and bought an extra large suitcase for when she comes over. I love her to bits...
My sister has now decided to join us for the week I'm due, as well, so yay - it will be Cali-family happening! DP looked a bit worried until I explained it would mean he'd not have to do -any- cooking or cleaning for the first week.

voodoomunkee · 03/09/2011 23:47

Oh! Can you send them here on their way home?! Lovely thanks! Haha. Well am off to bed with my twitchy, achy legs and lower back and my constant acidic refluxy stuff and the constant need to wee! Such an attractive time is pregnancy!

chipmonkey · 03/09/2011 23:53

Well, my daughter is now wearing a pink vest! Grin Staff had said she could have a vest so I ordered three from babyprem.co.uk
But they are tiny ! Shock
I ordered them last week for a baby up to 3.5 lbs. Now, by my calculations she is 2.8 lb so should have been fine for a while. But they are barely big enough and the nurse told me not to order any more in that size. Had another go at bfing and although I don't think she got any milk from me, her mouth was doing all the right things and she almost looked like a suckling baby. My milk supply was deffo increased for the next feed too. My Mum came in to see her and the nurse tried to get her to hold Sylvie-Rose but my Mum was too afraid because of her size! It's funny, I am beginning to forget how small she is and to me, a baby born at 32 weeks looks massively big and healthy! It's all relative!

stripeymummy · 04/09/2011 05:01

Completely sympathise with constant peeing. Feel like I'm going every half hour. I ESP hate it when I dash to the loo thinking I'm going to wet myself and there is barely a thimble full there Angry. Talking of other bits, but has anyones wind out put increased in amount and volume? Im wondering if I'm getting pressure on both sides Hmm (sorry, tmi Blush)

Am also getting lots of wriggling, and I'm finding it v odd watching my belly moving around of it's own accord. I quite enjoy it, ESP giving her a poke and getting a response (until I get a foot in the diaphragm or a squirm on my bladder).

chip it's wonderful to hear how well Sylvie-Rose is doing. And I can barely imagine the size of premmie clothes, I'm still staring in amazement at the newborn vests I purchased recently!

Finished all my pre-arrival baby washing - whoop whoop! And sorted out the bedroom, now all we have to do is sort out our crib/cot situation and finish various bits of hospital bag shopping. I don't think I've ever been so organised :o

voodoomunkee · 04/09/2011 07:41

Aww chip, lovely! Sounds like Sylvie-Rose is really coming along :-) you must be feeling great.

Up early, another rubbish nights sleep. I've got a new ache! Joys. I think I am sleeping funnily and its creating havoc with my back. I've got a bad back without being pg. I'm going to have to Pay a visit to my lovely doctors to see if they can suggest anything. Work will be thrilled at me having another day off!

Stripey, sounds like you are getting super organised! I've done half my washing but haven't set up the Moses basket etc. May do that tonight.

Hope those off fo the sling thing have a good time. Am looking forward tona quietish day just pottering around. Hope everyone has a great day!

TwoJackRussellsandabean · 04/09/2011 08:35

Morning all,

I can sympathise with the whole peeing all the time, I do too and frustratingly it's always a teeny little bit too!!!

Have carpal tunnel too, bought some wrist splints (NHS Tayside dont give them away any more - although the midwife's still haven't figured that one out, hence waste of a Friday morning going to the physio- grrr!!!), which work really really well, right up until I take them off in my sleep and only realise when I wake up later wondering why my fingers are numb or painful and see the splints sitting neatly on my bedside table!!!

Hope the sling meet goes well, was supposed to be having my inlaws here today, but they went away last night and to be honest, am tired after having all my inlaws and folks visiting over the last couple of weekends and a bit too lazy to head down to Edinburgh, but next one I'll do me best to be there :)

Off to the supermarket and then making soup and jam today and looking forward to getting the house sorted out a bit more, have a lovely day everyone :)

sunshinehugs · 04/09/2011 09:10

Morning all, great to hear how well Sylvie-Rose is doing and heart warming that she is making all the right suckling moves. Bless her!

Hope all of you suffering pains and worries find relief soon. I join you on the weeing front!

Oh I am way behind everyone at 28 weeks (due 29th November) :) Rather jealous of the movement being felt. My placenta is at the top and towards the front (can't remember the technical name!) so my midwife said I won't feeling much for some time. I do worry sometimes though when I haven't felt anything for a day or two. I shall count my blessings that I am not being battered from the inside :o

Another one getting the kitchen done here this month! We don't have room for a range but DP is getting very excited about his NEF appliances and induction hob! Also start my ante-natal, aqua and exercise classes this month, and I am visiting my sister and Mum in Wales for some quality time/wedding planning, so its all going on!

Have fun at the sling meet.

PamSco · 04/09/2011 09:23

2Jacks Have a nice restful day, see you at the next one, or before if we have a meet? I'm not doing Leuchars next week, too much travel hassle.

Chip lovely news re vest. I've bought 2 lots of vests - newborn and 0-3m. I just couldn't believe the size of newborn so I've hedged my bets.

cep what a great idea about making hooded towels - hadn't thought of that.

bump I hope you find a sympatheitic dr or consultant. It becomes a vicious circle of needing but not wanting meds - ok mine were pain killers but I felt so bad taking them I kinda empathise.

To all not drinking enough water... Here comes the soap box... Please please drink more water. Dehydration is closely connected to pre-term labour (one of many factors of course) water is so mportant when you are clearing the metabolites for 2. I know it's a pain for constant trips but so important. Puts soap box away Grin

When I had my 28 wk scan The Boy was using my relatively full bladder as a pillow and I was the same - everytime I stood up I needed a wee. He's been head up a bit this week and not so much pressure. Back down today and yep, toilet, toilet, toilet...

Well kitchen is packed up and darling heart OH scrubbed everywhere with sugar soap so the insides sparkle (they stay as it is a refurb). He's the best. SO I treated him to a slap up takeaway curry. I fair gorged as well. Oh dear up all night with heartburn - have got through a whole small bottle of gaviscon. Ok now though.

Another one constantly weeing here!

Well yesterday was just a super afternoon, my DH and best friend had organised me a surprise baby shower.

DH had me blindfolded me all the way to the place and walked me into the room blindfolded. Felt like a right tit. And then when it was taken off there was all these people and blue things everywhere!

My sister had a special cake made with an angel sat next to a rainbow as the topper so both my babies were there!

We've been spoilt rotten, the mountain of presents could have definitely given childhood christmas a run for its money!

DH had been a bit sneaky for a while and I had decided the sneakiness was a pregnancy massage spa afternoon or something because I've been hinting about that from day one, so this was really unexpected! I never had a shower for Belle, no-one had even thought about it last time they say and I wasn't expecting one this time either. Especially didn't expect people to spend money before he actually got here ok after last time. Been given such lovely things for him.

Its so nice to have had a really happy special day just for Xander! Bright moment in all the fear right now.

Really quite tired today though. Trying to motivate myself off the sofa and into the shower and making it to church this week. Not looking likely right now!

voodoomunkee · 04/09/2011 09:51

That's lovely caz :-) lovely that people went to all that effort etc, something to draw upon.

Pam ouch that curry gives you heartburn! For me it's all bread related. Anything that's slightly even remotely related to bread is a no no! Curry however is my friend. I can't remember the last time I was able to enjoy toast :( good for my weight though! Heartburn is chronically bad today so even reconsidering my plans of toad in the hole for tea!

sunshinehugs · 04/09/2011 09:53

Wow Caz, thats fantastic! Wonderful and I am sure that will have given you a real lift. You deserve it. Gives the rest of us a smile as well this morning!

Oh that sneaking about does remind me of my sister and her baby shower. Her husband was not being discrete about the sneaking around, shifty phone calls etc and as she opened the door to her living room where the shower was she was in tears as she'd had an argument on the way with her DH suspecting he was having an affair! Oh she laughs about it now, but at the time....:-)

Folicacid · 04/09/2011 09:54

Funny! On the Edinburgh slingmeet Facebook - the people organising it- it says 1.30 to 4.40. Well, see you there at some point. Too much for preggo brain and on mobile too.

PamSco · 04/09/2011 10:18

Lol Folic since I'm still in bed and awaiting my breakfast - get her lady muck - I doubt I'd be there for 1 anyways.

Caz what a gorgeous day - you deserve it.

voodoo I'm hoping it was volume related - i really pigged out. I'd be gutted if I lost my curry belly tolerance.

stripey yes wind is up - though it was a lentil curry!

OP posts:
voodoomunkee · 04/09/2011 10:36

Fingers crossed for pigging out then!

I had planned to force some time together on OH today, went upstairs to wake him up and already lost my patience with him! He was the flipping one that suggested some ahem 'us' time! Pah. Another day on me own while he either sleeps or stomps off to his mums. I honestly feel like shaking him! Don't think he has quite grasped just how lonely and confusing being pg is or how rare time alone like this becomes. Sigh. Honestly if I hadn't done this on my own before I do not know how I'd be coping. Grrr. Sorry, random rant. :(

Caliphora · 04/09/2011 12:09

Oh windy ladies, I've been giving DP a run for his money this week!

Just done a huge Tesco shop, and came up with a brilliant idea - I'm making a "standard" shopping list for when my mother is here - that way we can just hand her the list and she can do the legwork! I'm typing it up and printing off multiple copies to go on the kitchen cork board. Also, when DP is zombie after 2 hours sleep, I can send him to Tesco to do it with a checklist and not have to think.

Now I'm waiting for my Sunday brunch to arrive - I love DPs who cook!
