A new thread for the bus!

traybake feel for you. not sure what to advise, just hope you can figure out a compromise before something just gives. x

sound i was on the sept bus last year but had my babies in august (there was 3 of us who did) it makes no difference as far as im or anyone else is concerned, everyone loves to hear about the births, the birth stories and the updates and it makes everyone get more excited and within a few weeks everyone will be post natal with you anyway. i agree with others......stay with us. and good luck! see getting excited for you already Grin
not sure how long you can go after you lose mucus plug. sorry.

sassy34264 · 07/09/2011 20:51

bb3 just read back and saw your bump pics idea. i will put mine on.......hoping i am smaller than you!

SconesForTea · 07/09/2011 21:37

soundofherwings don't you dare abandon us now! How are you feeling? Any progress?

Leo4 · 07/09/2011 21:56

BB3 I will also post...:) but atm having problems uploading pic on here!

Leo4 · 07/09/2011 22:01

o and sassy you do make laugh with your stories..the biting and the poo! Its lovely to hear from someone who has experienced different things with each child..!

TallyBear · 07/09/2011 22:03

On the clothes issue i've found that everywhere seems to have different weights for the sizes/ages so I've bought a selection, although need to get some more plain sleepsuits/vests etc. Please tell me why they all seem to come in pristine white when all that's going to happen is that they get poo and sick all over them?! I've been making the most of the sales and got a load of stuff at a car boot sale, including a mothercare sleeping bag that looks brand new for £1.50. I do need to do a stock take soon though and then start washing it all and put it away.

I can't remember who was ordering prams etc from Boots, but I am also planning to use the 20% off voucher through the parenting club and get loads of points too. Just waiting for it all to come into stock - there is always something out of stock and I want to get it all in one go to get the max £ off.

We had our second growth scan today. Growth and size now seem to be OK (despite my small bump) but now there is not much fluid, which means loads more tests. Had CTG (?) heartbeat monitoring and need another at the weekend, another fluid count next Weds and another growth scan Wed after that. Scared me a bit when the mw started talking about waters leaking and contractions! Hospital is becoming like a second home! Not sure whether to be worried but everything else seems to be OK at this stage so hope it's just precaution. If there is any chance that this will not be a low-risk birth we will lose our choice about where to go, but if that's what they recommend I'm happy to go along with that.

Only got 11 days left at work (minus several half days for scans!), yay. Don't how I'm going to get all my work done but I'll just have to leave it for my replacement. Spoke to a friend at work today who said it was perfectly normal to have a little panic when you get back from the hospital and are alone with a little baby for the first time and realised you don't have a clue!

Has anyone else discovered Twirl Bites? Dangerous (and BOGOF at Tesco), especially straight from the fridge.

33+3 today.

Leo4 · 07/09/2011 22:15

I've gone off chocolate :( I want to drink vinegar instead! ..............

BB3 · 07/09/2011 22:27

Cool beans I'll post first thing in the morning as my laptop is downstairs and I can't face the stairs again tonight!!!

tally I wouldn't fret too much, it is good they are keeping a close eye on it but if they were really worried they would have you in and / or baby out! I would personally monitor any leakage but carry on as normal and go in if you are concerned at all.

BB3 · 07/09/2011 22:29

Oh and yes twirl bites me and DS had some tonight!! (it's probably our 4th packet this week!!) A-MA-ZING!!! Although I do get heartburn after it, it's worth it!!!

Leo4 · 07/09/2011 22:30

I've just posted mine its worth a laugh My Pics

sassy34264 · 07/09/2011 22:30

tally so sorry to hear about all your scares. ive no experience of having a little bump or little fluid. quite the opposite infact. and i need a scan every 2 weeks to check my bub isnt getting too big. hopefully it will be that closely monitored that they will pick up on anything amiss.

leo my best friend always says that. i always say, well im glad my life is amusing someone! ha. Smile

i think i have been on mn ALL day! really need a life and a less neglectful attitude towards my twins-oops. gonna try for an earlyish night now and hopefully i will have more energy tomorrow to play and do some pigging housework. ngt.

BB3 · 07/09/2011 22:34

Why oh why do the period pains and tightenings start again when I lay down to sleep!!!

Also anyone else suffering really upset tummy? The past three days have been pretty bad (sorry for TMI).

sound any updates?

Leo4 · 07/09/2011 22:37

sassy Me too...but I've got no LO's to look after!! shame on you hahahaa!!

BabCNesbitt · 07/09/2011 22:44

Hello dearies - bloody hell, I need to be better at keeping up with this thread! Have just spent an hour or so catching up with all the replies since I last posted, and of course now I can barely remember who posted what. But definitely getting exciting now that it feels like we're making it into the home stretch. Hope everyone manages to get some quality sleep!

Leo, how's turning the baby going? Pissed off at the last MW I saw, as she assured me that the baby was head down and put that in my notes, even though I told her I'd only felt kicks down low. Of course, the scan the following week (last Wednesday) showed that she's breech (as she has been at every other scan), and at the medical I had for my US visa application today (33+1), she was definitely still arse-first. I've been trying the kneeling on all fours business, but dammit, it hurts my back! If she doesn't turn soon, though, I suspect I can kiss goodbye to the planned homebirth. Going to go swimming on Saturday for the first time in years and hope I don't drown halfway along the local Olympic-sized pool.

The visa medical has been a big stress, actually - I was panicking that my episodes of depression 10 years ago might be a problem, and I was right to be anxious. They want an independent psychiatric assessment to prove that I won't taint the US with bad vibes or something. Which will cost another £350. Good timing. So I'm trying to think of everything that I can flog on eBay to put towards the cost of that...

sassy, I'm so sorry to hear about your SIL. Sending all best wishes to you and your family. xx

Leo4 · 07/09/2011 22:53

BabC That is so like my experience..the midwife keeps telling me the baby is head down....but I've had a quite a few scans and everytime its been breech...so I don't know how much I believe my midwife now! Ive tried the rocking backwards and forwards and it doesnt seem to work....every time my bump starts to feel lower....the next morning its up high again! I went to an antenatal class tonight and they said that if at my scan it is breech they may offer me an ECV (trying to coax the baby round) and if that doesn't work they will start talking C-sections! :(

Penelope1980 · 07/09/2011 23:36

soundofherwings how's it going? Don't worry as am looking to have a Sept baby too (I hope!) as got measured yesterday at 37 weeks and told he's measuring well for those dates. Given how I have started to feel in the last couple of days if I am still hanging on in October, I don't think I'll be much fun to have on the bus anyway Grin. Any updates? You may be the first ...

I have had weird stabby pains in my belly since last night on and off, I don't think they are contractions as don't sound sore enough but I'd like to find out what it is nonetheless - has anyone else had this? It's kind of like the stitch, but all over my stomach. It's not all the time though, just every couple of hours.

babc when are you moving to the USA? Exciting. Is anyone else here not in the uk? Just wondering because I am in a different time zone myself so probably give the impression of keeping really strange hours Smile

Penelope1980 · 07/09/2011 23:37

And sadly I don't really have a good bump photo, I'll try and post one though if I figure out how ...

sassy34264 · 08/09/2011 03:46

argh! the 1st night in ages im asleep before midnight and isobel decides its time to get up at 2.45am. bloody typical. tried putting her in bed with me, but it only works with jacob. once shes awake, shes awake. brought her downstairs and she is currently guzzling milk. fingers crossed she goes to sleep soon.
bab and others. so sorry your lo's arent playing ball. i wouldnt give up all hope just yet though as some babies can leave it right up to the last minute to turn.
leo Smile

sassy34264 · 08/09/2011 03:53

sorry penelope not sure what it is. i wouldnt describe my experience of labour as stabbing pains. but that doesnt mean it isnt. mine is always at the front of my bump. i never get it in my back. and it feels more like a tight band in my belly. i always seem to go from no pain or little pain to great big excruciating pain in next to no time. no nice build up for me.

BB3 · 08/09/2011 06:08

Oooh sass I missed you by a couple of hours. After gloating that DS was back in his sleep routine the beggar was up from 1-3.30!!! And wife awake at 5.30! Urghhhh!!! did Isobel go back to sleep?

Penelope I'm not sure either. I get a lot of stabbing pelvis pain under my bump bit it's always slightly to one side. I laboured in my back with DS (that was a joy let me tell you) and have had contractions in my front with this two but they haven't piercing pains as such.big they persist give you mw or day assessment unit a call xxx

DS is currently trashing my bedroom but I don't have the energy to get off the bed and stop him!! Blush

BB3 · 08/09/2011 06:11

Bloody iPhone. Wide awake and if they persist!!!

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 08/09/2011 06:34

What a night!!!
Think I fell asleep about 11pm then woke at 1.30 and haven't slept since just can't switch my brain off!
Was starting to get tired around 5ish and DS got up Angry
only today and tomorrow left and I'm a lady of leisure :-)

Leo4 · 08/09/2011 07:08

I have had an awful night...the pains in my hips pelvis have been so bad...scared to move! so basically been awake all night! I've had this all pregnancy in bed or if i have sat down too long...but this was just awful! only just managed to get out of bed!

Sassybb3edward sorry you all had bad nights too....:( I'm not forward to my little one waking me up in the night...its bad enough when you keep yourself awake...!

Bubalie · 08/09/2011 07:21

I can't believe how many posts I had to catch up from yesterday afternoon! You lot are very active, it took me half an hour just to read what i've missed last night!

I wont go back and read through to answer everyone by their name, but just to say whoever is thinking of ordering from Boots, I have ordered mine yesterday, but the 20% wouldn't apply, I contacted Boots and they have told me to order and as soon as i receive my buggy and the car seat (which should be tomorrow) to contact them and they will refund the 20% to my card.

Regarding baby clothes I can now see things vary from shop to shop and from person to person, so am not stressing anymore. I'm going shopping for an hour or so today, so will pick up some more babygros in bigger size just in case and that should be it. Thank you all for your advice.

It's exciting to know that we may have the first baby here soon, even if born in September stay here we like to know how you're getting on. I keep thinking that I will be early, although my first - I just feel massive and like I can't stretch anymore. Has anyone here been early with their first child - just out of interest?

And the ladies with other DC/toddlers - you are so good. I can hardly cope with all the sleepless nights, tiredness and all that with no children, how you do it I don't know! Up for half a night with your other children, some of you still having to go to work - all I can say you are GOOD!!

MW appointment this morning, will report how it goes later, although reading from previous posts how the midwifes can get the positions wrong, not really sure if I should rely on what they say (I always seem to see a different MW too, so not sure if I have developed the right relationship with them - it is always very rush - they never explain anything properly!).

Have a good day everyone, will catch up later.

soundofherwings · 08/09/2011 08:01

Hi everyone. No news, things seemed to have calmed down a bit but still getting lots of tightenings. I got a good nights sleep at least.
I promise i'll stay on the bus and keep you updated!
