I just wanted to say that your thread as a continuation of the conception thread has made me :)

jaggythistle · 20/07/2011 20:41

ok I'm coming in to wave too of course I'll be confirming the obvious soon, when we find out which pee sticks are right...

oh yes the extreme tiredness. i used to have afternoon naps and only get up to eat my tea!

Fuchzia · 20/07/2011 20:53

Hello ladies. I'm tiptoeing in nervously. A single post on the earlier thread appears to have worked it's magic and I'm now 8 weeks! Its amazing how you forget just how vile this bit of pregnancy can be. I'm hungry all the time but food makes me want to vom. Still it's only for a few weeks - right?

CalypsoFramboise · 20/07/2011 21:12

Evening ladies,

meme super news that the pg is all still go, boggled that it might be mutiples, glad you're happy about it!

Shame we can't all share the symptoms about, I have ZERO symptoms, nada. I do feel totally crushingly tired but thats because I've been up every 1.5 hrs for 2 nights in a row with a toddler with tonsilitis, second bout in 2 months, gah.

And please do be complaining about pregnancy, I HATE being pregnant (well, last time around when I wasn't feeling so totally normal)... A touch of nausea and/or a sore boob wouldn't go amiss at this stage . I hope these words bite me on the arse in a couple of weeks Wink

Oh and aubers I was recounting your musical choices to DH when he pointed out that I had been very much enjoying Moulin Rouge which actually comprises several power ballad medleys, so I think I might count that as my first pregnancy symptom (aside from AF MIA) Hmm

havealittlefaithbaby · 20/07/2011 21:24

aubers the comment above made Ke think (still lurking!). My friend had awful nausea with DD1 and she actually did wear those travel sickness bands and swore they really helped! Worth a try?

HidingInTheUndergrowth · 20/07/2011 21:41

Welcome fuchzia! you see that Is the power of positive thinking, it only takes once you know :o

also lovely to see all the visitors, soon to be residents, sorry about the mess. I really will be doing some hoovering any day now :o

I think the sickness has kicked in over the past couple of days. Lovely dp has been making me morning toast as I feel so rubbish when I wake up. Also, and surely even worse, I think my boobs are getting too big for my favourite dress! Aaarrggh! The horror! Shock

:)

allhailtheaubergine · 21/07/2011 12:16

Right. Sorry about my last post. A low moment. I eventually managed to eat a Muller corner yoghurt minus the corner bit.

Hello to all the preggos, both with and without confirmation. This thread will be bursting at the seams soon :)

I was worried about my children existing on a diet of eggs and beans as that's all dh can cook, so today I sent them all to the local caff with instructions to have spag bol for lunch. They all chose the breakfast platter. There are no words...

I tried to phone the hospital to start up some sort of antenatal package today but no answer. Decided this level of weight loss is a bit too dramatic and I ought to get me some drugs. Will try again on Sunday.

LoveInAColdChamberOfSecrets · 21/07/2011 13:01

Hope you manage to speak to hospital soon, Aubers - it really does sound like some anti-nausea drugs would be a good move.

My bra is suddenly far too tight but around my ribs rather than the cups Hmm. Would love to take it off but (a) then my boobs would be agony and (b) might well get some funny looks as am in the office...

allhailtheaubergine · 21/07/2011 17:09

What an afternoon!

Today was dh's first day at home for a while. He took a look at me 'coping' and took me to the emergency room where they put me on a drip. They gave me a bottle of anti-nausia stuff, some rehydration stuff, and sent me home with a week's supply of anti-vomit tablets.

I am currently eating a bowl of tomato soup - the first nourishing thing I've had in a week. Optimistic about keeping it down too!

HidingInTheUndergrowth · 21/07/2011 19:35

Hurrah for mr aubers! What a sensible dh you have there :o

Hope your soup stays where out should now

OP posts:
HidingInTheUndergrowth · 21/07/2011 19:36

Out = it

too much excitment :)

LoveInAColdChamberOfSecrets · 21/07/2011 21:43

Your DH sounds lovely and v sensible, Aubers. I hope this is the start of total recovery so you can enjoy being pregnant.

Off to bed - very late night for me at the moment! So sleepy at the moment - would actually be quite enjoyable if I didn't have a job and could spend the day on the sofa...

CalypsoFramboise · 22/07/2011 06:47

Aubers Huzzah for drugs, hope that you're doing much better today.

love last pg my boobs went from 32B to 34FF quite early on but wasn't very proactive about it initially. Felt much relief switching to some very boring plain relatively cheap basic M&S bras that I bought every 10-14 days as sizes increased.

Meme heard if its twins yet?

Despite the overwhelmingly self-determined positivity of this thread, feeling a hint of cynicism with this asymptomatic pg and have booked a scan for 9 weeks - less than a month. I will be brooking no argument that everything will be completely perfect :)

MooseCakey · 22/07/2011 07:25

Morning ladies, I've just graduated from the brooking no argument conception thread and feeling a bit new and shocked!

I'm sorry about your sickness aubers, good that you're getting treatment. I haven't had much yet, just the occasional queasy moment, I keep wondering if I'm imagining it.

Having only just found out I'm pg I've now got to go on a hen weekend and not tell anyone and somehow make them think I'm drinking :-S

LateToThisBabyMalarky · 22/07/2011 07:46

Hooray Moose! You for smacked that rat!

At the hen make sure you're the one going to the bar & get them to do you a soda & lime to look like a gin / vodka & tonic. I did hear on the First Time Frolickers thread that the pip doesn't start to take anything from you for the first 5/6 weeks, so drinking (in moderation Wink) isn't as bad at this stage as it will be in a couple of weeks. You may not feel like alcohol though, especially if you're feeling a bit queasy - have a good time!

Love, I've been feeling so so tired as well - DH has been away this week & I've been nodding off on the sofa (under a blanket because its been so flippin' cold!) as soon as I get home from work! So hard to have to deal with all this stuff in secret for weeks and weeks, and then it all gets better in the next trimester (allegedly) when people can know!

HidingInTheUndergrowth · 22/07/2011 11:54

Hello moose and welcome!

I hope you are still feeling better aubers and eating lots of yummy things :)

I just went out and bought some of the sea sickness bands as I got fed up of feeling tired and sick all the time and not being able to do anything. So far I think I am actually feeling better with them and am trying a bit of left over pizza to see how that works out for me.

Off to a small festival today for the weekend which I am slightly dreading. Luckily I have never really been a massive party animal so I am hoping that nobody will really notice any differance if I don't drink and sneak off to bed early. Me and dp have decided to tell people I have an ear problem if they ask as that covers feeling sick and not drinking.

Ho hum, I really thnk I would rather spend the weekend tucked up in bed but there you are. :o

OP posts:
allhailtheaubergine · 23/07/2011 16:42

I have good hair.

I mean, I have been nothing but misery and vomit since smacking the rat, but today I noticed that I have great pregnancy hair. Thought I'd mention it, in the spirit of positivity etc etc.

allhailtheaubergine · 23/07/2011 18:14

Ha! I have been sleeping a lot this weekend. I have just realised that my anti-sickness medication is drowsy making. No wonder I've been so sleepy.

Off to the hospital first thing in the morning to sort out an antenatal plan if we can afford one. Hoping I might even get a scan tomorrow, but I guess that depends how busy the clinics are.

I am 9 weeks pregnant!

dippyducky · 24/07/2011 08:38

Morning you lovely upduffed ladies, it's rather nice in here, may I take a seat?

I lurked on TTC and the magic of positivity seems to have rubbed off on me as I got my BFP this morning, which obviously just confirms what I've known for the last 12 months but now a I'm peestick endorsed pregnant person! Just waiting for DH to wake up so I can tell him. I believe this makes me 4+6. I have numerous 'symptoms', though I have yet to develop a craving for power ballads. I'm sure it's only a matter of time.

Aubers, hope you're feeling better soon. Nice Timotei swish by the way.

Does anyone know the ealiest one can have a scan? It's my mum's 60th in a few weeks, would love to be able to give her a scan pic but assuming it's quite unlikely.

MooseCakey · 24/07/2011 09:28

Hi dippyducky and congratulations! I think your first nhs scan, the dating scan, is at around 12 weeks. My hospital do it from 11+5 to 13+4. You could pay for a private scan any time from 7 weeks though, I think they tend to be £75-£100.

Imps7 · 24/07/2011 14:09

Hiding !! Ear problem!!! GENIUS!!!!!!!!!! That's my excuse sorted then - now I just need to get my BFP...

mememummy · 24/07/2011 17:25

I need to find an excuse as to why I can't lift if I mention bad back I'll be sent to occy health quicker than I can close my pregnant mouth. I am so hungry. ALL THE TIME. Welcome to all the newbies congrats am 6+2 now yay scan next Monday midwife after that hope it is twins now as I have picked my pushchair lol

herethereandeverywhere · 24/07/2011 22:32

Hello lovely preggo ladies. I'm now about 5+4. Still haven't told a Dr, think I might do the appt next week. Now I could do with a bit of advice oh wise ones. I'm suffering terribly with anxiety at the moment, racing heart, short breath which I'm finding difficult to control, not sure whySad. I'm so happy about my pregnancy but am so worried that the anxiety is going to make me miscarry or cause a problem. So, any advice for how to relax a bit or deal with this?

Glad to see you all blooming so beautifully!
