Yippeeeeee - well done Wants - super super news! GrinGrinGrinGrin

Weirdly my phone just autocorrected yippeeee to Tupperware.... Confused

pommedechocolat · 11/09/2011 15:52

I was also upset when my CBD disappeared - I thought it would last forever!

Yay and welcome to wants!

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 11/09/2011 16:10

Yay for Wants! Hello!

I have still got 2 FR with two pink lines sitting on my dressing table, despite being 10 weeks! I can't bring myself to throw them out. I'm glad it wasn't a CBD as I would have been gutted when it vanished. I suppose I will have to get rid of them eventually - probably before my v tidy SIL comes to visit at the end of Oct. Maybe I will be able to let go by then - might have a proper visible bump by then! Right now I feel wider and flabbier but not exactly bumpy.

farfallarocks · 11/09/2011 18:46

Hi gals, thanks for all the postiive thoughts, I will be testing on Weds latest Friday

dreamfeeder · 11/09/2011 21:11

Evening preggos!

Slightly better day today. DH and i both a bit better. Family trip to dunelm mill was the highlight of the day though. DD spending all day walking round, being followed by me to stop her falling on her head, as is her wont. So very pleased she was happy, no keen even, to go to bed at 6:30pm Grin

Hope all the rest of you continue to bloom wonderfully.

purple, that morning sickness better have got the message by now- it's past 12 weeks!!! Go away!!! (mine went at 16 weeks ish last time counting the last time I was spewing, totally gone by 18 if that helps)

meme, hope you're ok too.

biscuits, not long til your 12 week scan, exciting times.

dreamfeeder · 11/09/2011 21:12

oooh, farfalla, can't wait for you to join our ranks

scarletfingernail · 12/09/2011 09:04

Oh my goodness, do I feel rough! 8 weeks today and I feel absolutely rotten which weirdly makes me very happy.

I've had to force some cereal down this morning, was really not appealing. I've been feeling sick, dizzy and exhausted since I got up. DH went off to work telling me to "take it easy" Oh yes of course I can when I've got DS asking for play doh and painting already.

Very, very nervous about my scan on Wednesday. I'm terrified they'll find no heartbeat or say there's nothing even there. Coupled with the fact that it would also have the the due date for my 2nd MC on Wednesday, I've got an anxious couple of days ahead. It's only the fact that I feel so awful that's making me hope that surely it's bound to be a happy outcome?

Glad you're feeling better dream and your DH. I hate hate hate being sick, feeling sick, anyone else being sick in the house. I would find it very difficult to cope in your situation.

It's blowing an absolute gail and very miserable outside. It's quite nice knowing I haven't got to go anywhere today. Think I will have a shower and get the paints out for DS. I could do without the mess but it will keep him happy for ages.

Biscuitsandtea · 12/09/2011 09:10

Awww Scarlet you poor thing :(

Listen to your DH - let DS have the paints out and then take it easy and leave the tidying up for DH :)

Seriously though - hope it eases off over the course of the day a bit - it ain't easy feeling poorly with a toddler

Biscuitsandtea · 12/09/2011 09:12

Oh and I meant to say Scarlet well done for getting to 8 weeks - we'll get you through to Wednesday for your scan and we are Brooking. No. Argument about this! I know it will be a sad anniversary with the previous m/c but we will get you through to Wednesday evening and you can come and tell us how nice and reassuring it was to see the heartbeat.

Only 2 more sleeps to go - is it Wed am or pm?

scarletfingernail · 12/09/2011 09:22

Thanks Biscuits that's very sweet of you. It's Wednesday morning thank goodness. I've made arrangements for DS so he doesn't have to come with us. It was awful when I had a scan during my second MC, we had DS with us and he was wriggling about and trying to get down of DH's lap meaning he couldn't support me or listen to the sonographer properly while she gave the bad news.

Ha ha he's just come running in out of the dining room flapping my placemats about shouting "wings Mummy", it's definitely going to be one of those days Grin

How's everyone else doing today?

Purplebuns · 12/09/2011 10:47

Hello everyone! We are going to need a new thread soon have you seen the post count? Shock

Welcome oh wonderful newly updiffed people, it is about time really, we haven't had any fresh'uns for a while!

Scarlet Scan how exciting, glad Ds won't be there it means you won't have any distractions while you enjoy that lovely heartbeat :) I do know how you feel I was so nervous about my 12 week, I can't even remember it really as I was too busy going it is ok!

I am feeling a little bit better! I actually had some energy yesterday and royally attacked my Garden which had gone a bit wild to say the least...

I am currently hungry but I just don't know what to eat! So difficult when most food is disgusting. Envy

I am on Christmas present hunt now, only three paydays until Christmas after all!

musicalmrs · 12/09/2011 10:55

Morning all!

scarlet - will be brooking no argument for a successful and exciting scan on Wednesday.

Purple - Noooo, not Christmas presents already! Although I suppose you're right about paydays.

My appetite's gone, and I'm a bit nauseous, but still managing to eat for the time being.

Here's an odd question - anyone having problems with sweating? I've found my normal deoderant isn't powerful enough, so am now testing a few more to find something that keeps me looking/feeling vaguely human for at least the majority of the working day..!

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 12/09/2011 12:28

Morning all! Oops... I guess I mean afternoon now.

Scarlet I'm sorry to hear you're feeling a bit rubbish :( We are all Brooking No Argument for your scan on Wed though, and it will be fine. As Biscuits says, it's just two more sleeps and then you have the reassurance of the scan! Congrats on reaching 8 weeks!

Musical it's so good to see you in here! And Wants! Welcome ladies welcome. Settle in, and enjoy the no-vomiting while it lasts!

Purple you have completely scared me with talk of Christmas presents! Of course this is why I'm a mess every year in Dec, when everyone else is already finished! This year I'm going to buy all my presents online in Oct/Nov. I shall have to self-administer some No Brooking to make sure I get it done!!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who still has old pee sticks! I was gutted when the CBDs died as well, but the FRERs are still comforting - especially the last one when the test line was finally darker than the control line!

I'm feeling hideous at the moment unfortunately, but I'm trying to view this as a good thing in the run up to my 8 week scan this weekend. I think my immune system has taken a leave of absence, and I've got a great big cold sore to add to my woes! I haven't had a cold sore in years, sigh. I also haven't thrown up all weekend, but that's mainly because I haven't eaten anything other than toast and jam all weekend! I actually feel far far more nauseous than I did last week when I was throwing up everyday, but I've figured out that toast and jam is the only thing I can keep down! I'm relying on my pregnacare to provide a basic level of nutrition now - even though I can't keep the tablets down unless I take them when my stomach is completely empty! This early pregnancy lark is truly a unique experience, because despite all my whinging I'm still so excited to be pregnant and I spend hours everyday agonising over how things are going and what the scan will show!

MeconiumHappens · 12/09/2011 12:47

Morning rat smackers :)
scarlet scans are coming around so quickly! Mine is thursday :) And scream has one saturday i think? (i have a terrible memory, sorry)

Am fortunate to have no symptoms other than peeing lots and heavy boobs. Am brooking no arguement that i am just lucky and the blueberry is growing well.

Sympathies to the vomitters, i gag occasionally but havent actually been sick, you must feel so wiped out to keep puking all day plus having to carry on with everyday things too. Im guesing youve tried the usual things, seasickness bands, eating before getting out of bed, not letting blood sugars drop during the day, etc.

Welcome wants and musicalmrs congrats :)

dreamfeeder · 12/09/2011 13:11

I don't have time to eat before getting out of bed, I have to run out to hurl STRAIGHT AWAY if early morning puking gets me!!! No time to bf DD or anything, let alone eat... I thought for a couple of days that technique was going to work for me, then realised not... Still, only been sick once today though feeling sick.

Took DD to a morning group. It was one we hadn't been to before and totally rubbish. Then she fell asleep in car. I drove home, then sat with engine running for 20 min, then risked turning engine off. Big mistake. Big. Now I have a baby who's slept 30 min, and won't go to sleep for the rest of the day as her nap is 'done'. I have dumped her straight into her cot, just in case as the child looks so tired. Howver, the squarking over the monitor is escalating so I better go fetch her.. Sigh. Lunch. Then all afternoon entertainment in the house in the winds. I'm not looking forward to it!!

Plus, struggling with Mission Carseat. In fact i have realised we are not, ever, in any way shape or form, going to get 2 extended RF's in our car with DH being 6'4". Now I am already worrying DH won't agree to change the car and will make me turn DD forward facing at 2 1/2 or whenever is latest possible to move new baby into a Group 1 carseat. Plus it makes buying a second RF a very expensive 'spare' car seat option for the grandparents...

I think scarlet is right and today is one of those days.

scream and scarlet, roughness is good, just shows you're growing those babies. What a shame pregnancy has to be so grim, but hey ho, you get a baby at the end hopefully

my midwife visit is tmw, hope to get a 12 week scan date. Hope hope hope I can get one on thurs, the only day DH can come. He missed first scan with DD, and second 20 week scan after they thought there was a problem. Was a real shame.

Biscuitsandtea · 12/09/2011 14:33

Good point made by Musical who just found the stats thread.

Here is a link if anyone else wants to add themselves or update anything.

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 12/09/2011 15:10

I have added my next scan to the list. Hopefully then I will get a definite due date and maybe I can move up the list a bit! Is it cheating to put my estimated delivery date rather than due date, seeing as I will be delivered at 38 weeks rather than 40? At the moment it's my EDD on the list, but 38 weeks is somewhere around 22 March.

Today is dragging! Back at work after a day off, not much to do as so many ppl are on holiday, feeling a bit queasy and with sore eyes and back from sitting at the computer all day. Roll on 4 o'clock.

Dream, oh no for the wide-awake tired baby! Hope she drops off after all. I also hope you find a solution to your car seat problem. At what age are children supposed to move into a front-facing car seat?

Meconium, good luck for your scan! And you, Biscuits and Scream.

Sorry to hear about all the sickness and nausea plaguing people. Here's hoping it stops soon and we can get on with the blooming. Grin at the thought of blooming - it hasn't started here, anyway!

Purple, eek for Christmas present thoughts! I am just crossing my fingers firmly in the hope that DH gets the promotion he's after. Interview tomorrow and I'm scared! If he doesn't get it he'll be completely gutted and miserable and hell to live with for the next few weeks. His manager's retiring and it's really the only chance for advancement likely to come his way unless he leaves and goes elsewhere, so it's a one-off chance and not likely to come up again for a very long time! If he does get it Christmas shopping will be much easier.

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 12/09/2011 15:17

Was just catching up on the other thread and Scream mentioned phantom pregnancy fears. I have wondered this since watching Glee with Terri's phantom pregnancy, but can you actually pass a pee stick test with a phantom pg? Any experts in the house?

Biscuitsandtea · 12/09/2011 15:29

Don't know anything about phantom pregnancies (although I had wondered if I had made this one up before my 8 week scan!).

Too good luck for your DH's job interview tomorrow - hope he gets it :) Re the car seats I think most children move out of the little infant carrier type car seats between 12-15 months? DS was quite big / tall and I think he stopped using his first car seat at just over a year (I think there are weight restrictions and then it is whether or not their head is still 'in' the car seat rather than poking over the top. Then you can either go forward facing or you can get rear facing seats for the next stage up (which I think is what Dream is looking for now?)

DS is now at the age where he is just getting towards the top of his next car seat before he can go into one of the booster seat things - hopefully we can get another 6 months or so out of the car seat he is in, but it will probably mean that he won't be able to wear a winter coat in the car as we'll never get the straps over him and a coat. Poor chilly little poppet! The seat is on it's tallest height adjustment so we'll just see how long we can squeeze him into it!

I've been feeling better nausea / headache wise recently but today - bleh! Horrible headache and can't shake the nausea at all. So far I have done the ironing today - pretty poor effort!

Biscuitsandtea · 12/09/2011 15:31

Oh and Too I think it would be fine to put the date you expect to have the baby delivered on - ie your 38 weeks date. :)

LoveInAColdClimate · 12/09/2011 15:52

Have updated my stats and realised we're now the same due date, Hiding.

scarletfingernail · 12/09/2011 15:57

Biscuits so far today I have done precisely nothing, which is an even poorer effort.

Dumbledore as Biscuits said most children go forward facing around the age of 1 (there or there abouts) although it's important to go by the weight as well as age due to how their bones would cope in the event of an accident. DS was actually 11 months but he has always been very tall (another DH who is 6ft 4) and when we took him to the shop (you know the one Biscuits they advised we move him up as his head had gone over the top of his carrier.

You can now get rear facing car seats for older children (what dream is looking for) as there is evidence that it would be safer in an accident for an older child as well. I'm pretty sure this wasn't an option when we were looking for DS, but there's some great forward facing car seats with excellent safety reviews, which if you're happy to go with gives you much more choice. We went with the Maxi Cosi Tobi. Even though the car seat shop is Britax specialist we found from research that Maxi Cosi were the market leaders at the time who were also believed to have the edge on safety. Not sure if that still stands as this was 2 years ago but could be useful to know. It's a minefield, along with most decisions you have to make child related Confused

pommedechocolat · 12/09/2011 16:24

I had midwife app this am and heard the heartbeat. It was very lovely :)

We went with recaro for car seats and have been very happy with them. Moved dd at about 10 months (as soon as she hit weight limit basically) as she was so tall her head was over the top of the rear facing one. We also have a britax cheap one in dh's car for any emergency nursery pick ups which is definitely not so good but only used very rarely. Last year we went to Italy and rented a chicco one which was only three point harness - I HATED it!

scarletfingernail · 12/09/2011 17:18

Yay Pomme that's so fantastic that you heard the heartbeat. I bet you didn't want the midwife to stop Smile

LoveInAColdClimate · 12/09/2011 17:25

Lovely news re heartbat, pomme.
