Congrats soon to be MrsSunshine

chipmonkey · 31/07/2011 13:36

Congratulations, Sunshine!Grin

CazandBelle · 31/07/2011 14:27

Congrats sunshine :)

Feeling rough as today. Really restless night where I was up every hour. Started feeling sick about 4am and by 7 was been spectacularly ill. :( Tummy is very tender now and I'm just flaked on the sofa. DH pleased I'm quiet so he can "watch the race in peace"! charming! lol

Folicacid · 31/07/2011 14:30

Ooooh congrats sunshine that's lovely news. Does asap mean before baby arrives?

Just had lovely merry up the the Scotland crew, nice to put double names to faces- kinda glad there wasn't more than six of us as that would have perhaps been beyond me!

Poppet sorry didn't get to say goodbye, I though everyone was walking out together until got outside and you weren't there!

TwoJackRussellsandabean · 31/07/2011 16:18

Congrats Sunshine, how exciting!!!

I've only been to Kiddicare once, was massive, but if I remember the cots are all up on the second floor and they have them as room set-ups so you can see the furniture sets and then there are more cots, cotbeds and cribs all sort of grouped together, there were millions of them honestly!!!

I agree Folic, was lovely to meet everyone, looking forward to another meet up before our b-days, plus I got to go to K1 yarns and get some goodies :)

Now going to sit on my sofa and watch terrible tv for the rest of the weekend, if only this was Sat and I had another day left of the weekend :(

TwoJackRussellsandabean · 31/07/2011 16:18

Ok, maybe not millions of cotbeds, but there were loads!!

cookie9 · 31/07/2011 17:15

Congratulations Sunshine fantastic news.

Missing dh and will be glad when he returns. Bump is big as my neighbour thought I was near term! Junior is certainly having a growth spurt. Have been reading the thread on post natal care and think a card explaining about meals etc would be a good idea. Had to sign my hospital notes to say I would stay for 24 hours but if all ok and care bad will head home ASAP.

voodoomunkee · 31/07/2011 17:35

Ah I have been keeping up with the post natal thread as well. I don't want to stay in hospital at all. I want my own food, own cuppa and own bed! I agree though a card would be helpful. I'm still waitingto hear about a tour of the MLU or consultant led and am just wondering what questions I should be asking. One will be where's the food! I remember not being starving but desperate for energy after both my 2 and relying on my mum bringing me M&S goodies in. I'd much rather be near a microwave where OH can at least manage a bowl of soup! Am not ashamed to admit that am very much looking forward to cooking and freezing in preparation!

PamSco · 31/07/2011 19:08

Fantastic news sunshine what a beautiful time to propose.

It was great meeting all the Scot's crew - definitely do it again. Though somewhere with aircon! Or at least an open window :)

Poppet I got confused as well, sorry for not saying goodbye.

If I didn't have 21 years of bank statements to sort - and chuck, I'd be knitting. For the life of me I have no idea why I thought spreading old bank statements all over the living room floor would be the next logical step in clearing out the nursery - they weren't even in that room?

Hohum.

TerrysNo2 · 31/07/2011 19:48

Evening all

Congrats sunshine, what lovely news. I hope you enjoy all the wedding planning to come, I did but then I love organising things!

Didn't know there was a Scottish meet up - glad you all had a nice time :)

Kiddicare are very good, always well priced and their delivery service is great, I would recommend them.

All is well here, keep losing track of weeks but think I am now 26 - its so different second time as I keep forgetting I am pregnant as so busy with DS. We had a lovely day today as we took a ride on a canal boat in Guildford which DS loved. I love sunny days Grin

I finish work in 4 days!!! I cannot wait Grin

Happy Sundays all

MooseyMoo · 31/07/2011 21:26

Terry - I am exactly the same, I keep forgetting I am pregnant and wonder why I feel so tired after 10mins of playing with DD. Also forget which week I'm in. Think I am also 26wks today.

Got trapped wind at mo somgoing to try some gaviscon.

Loving my baby jogger. Showed it to my mum earlier and she couldn't belie e it was in such good condition.

Glad the Scottish meet up went well. We had a lovely BBQ and DD had a dunk in the paddling pool which was so funny to watch. Completely soaked DH with her splashing.

Poppet45 · 31/07/2011 21:47

Hi gals!
Lovely to meet up with the Scots contingent today, even if it was a little like a sauna! We will have to do it again. And don't worry I was joining in the general good byes as I detoured to visit the loo (yet again). I can't pass a loo without nipping in these days Grin. Had a lovely childfree potter round Princess Street afterwards and caught the Boots baby clothes sale in time to pick up some pinkish and lilac coloured items for bunny, all of which will look lovely over blue babygrows. Not feeling quite so unprepared for her now!

sunshinehugs · 31/07/2011 21:47

Thanks everyone for your wishes! I don't want to put too much pressure on myself so ASAP will realistically be late next year or 2013 (though feel a bit odd about getting married in the 13th year of the century, not usually superstitious!!) LOTS to think about. Hopefully will have some time to get at least a framework of what and where sorted before baby arrives.

Great to hear you had a good meet up in Scotland!

How are you feeling now cazandbelle? Much better I hope!

SnoozleDoozle · 31/07/2011 22:12

Congratulations sunshine.

The postnatal thread has been a real eye opener. I found the postnatal ward very difficult too, and whilst its a relief to know I'm not alone, its depressing to hear that its so common. Some aspects of my care were good, it wasn't all bad. But its the bad stuff that sticks in your mind and upset you, unfortunately.

Kiddicare sounds great, I would love a nosey round that shop! They used to charge £40 delivery to where I live, which was crazily out of proportion to what delivery actually cost, but I see that has been reduced now to £7.88, which suddenly makes it look attractive......I can see myself browsing that site at length over the next few weeks!

voodoomunkee · 31/07/2011 22:19

Good to hear the Edinburgh meet up went well! I LOVE Edinburgh, havent visited in a while but shall deffo be back when OH and I get a chance!

I spent a lovely day being wayyyy too hot, listen to my 2 charming dc's argue over nothing apart from breathing the same air and being unable to eat due to heat, arguments and general bad temper! Just had some toast, which whilst yummy will probably be cursed in an hour in bed!

I think bump has got the hiccups. Always at the same point on my belly I feel it and it is so regular I would be suprised if it was wriggles.

Back at work tomorrow, going to see about sneaking some more holiday in if the boss is feeling generous :)

bumpandisaacsmum · 31/07/2011 22:43

Hello all, just got back from a weekend away.

Congrats sunshine

Glad that the scottish meet up went well!!! Are we still considering meeting up in the south, Bristol area??

Our weekend away was our only medieval reinactment event that we are doing this year (would love to do more but dates colliding haven't allowed it). It was great as it was DS's second season and so he was more confident and with another group full of kids camped next door we rarely saw him apart for food as he was off enjoying himself and everything around him.

Am glad that DS had a great time & DP managed to enjoy himself whilst I spent a lot of the time asleep (except at night). SPD meant a rubbish nights sleep in Friday due to overdoing things; I then fell alseep outside and ended up asleep for 3hrs in the sun so over-heated and dehydrated - was well looked after by MiL & group captain!! Having started feeling rubbish I then started suffering with jaw pain & didn't sleep at all sat night (but did sleep on & off during day today - in the shade) been to out-of-hours GP on way home & turns out that have a skin infection due to the acne that pregnancy has caused.

Finding out that I was unwell/in pain again due to pregnancy related problems sent me into tears and quite frankly I have had enough of pregnancy now!!! Although on the other hand I am loving the fact that I am growing another DC & love the movements and enjoyment of pregnancy & planning - just wish it wasn't so hard!!!

voodoomunkee · 31/07/2011 22:59

Ah my god, just looked in mirror (full length) on way to bed and argghhh am huge!

PamSco · 01/08/2011 00:02

voodoo all the more to cuddle :) (I mean for your DH, not me :)

PoppysMom · 01/08/2011 04:22

Congratulations sunshine That is fantastic news

bump sorry you are feeling so rough. Hope you feel better soon

Glad that the Scotland meetup was nice

I am pregnant with my first and still keep forgetting I am pregnant and missing which weeks I am in. I don't think it has fully sank in yet!

ML, or in my case leaving is in 20 workdays....last day being 31st August. Can't wait, especially as I have started getting real issues with heat and blood circulation, which causes me to almost faint. Veyr scary!
Anyway, hopefully I will be asked soon to stay on through September, or not. Though that would be working from home, so no more travelling and heat.

My WE seems to have been way too short (nothing new there) and I spent yet anopther night tossing and turning. Also baby is lazy, or turned again, so only feel very little movement, but trying to stay half way sane :)

Hope you all have a good start to the week

PamSco · 01/08/2011 08:12

Morning all, just had another realisation? 2 weeks and I'm 3rd trimester, oh my lord.

Looks like we'll need a new thread soon. Thoughts on title?

Have a good day all.

H007 · 01/08/2011 08:38

Morning all :)

Congratulations sunshine

Move went well and thank godness for my parents, OH and three of OH's friends who carried everything. I literally just pottered around, drove the van and carried light stuff. But two days of packing and one of unpacking took it's toll on me and even with the little amount that I did I tired myself out to the point that I felt sick and became sooooo stiff by Sunday I was struggleling to walk... It's amazing how much it takes out of you! So yesterday me and OH took it easy and just did little bits and went for a little wander. Sooooo much still to do but we have a kitchen which is 95% done, a lounge just waiting on new sofas and a bed to sleep in, I've got two weeks off now so can take my time unpacking the rest!

Hope everyone had a nice weekend!

I am still up for a Bristol area meet up!

Folicacid · 01/08/2011 09:32

I agree, where is the time going? I feel like once I got into the 'twenties' it has completely flown. Here that could be the basis for a thread title, I'd like to be in my twenties again! Grin Actually, nah I probably wouldn't. Feel a bit more relaxed and sorted in my thirties. Anyway, I digress...

bumps sorry you had a topsy turvy weekend with sleep and illness.

H007 congrats on good move. Just take it easy unpacking mind, don't overdo it! Are you delighted with where you have moved to? Will the nesting commence?!

PamSco · 01/08/2011 10:25

Not sure about that Folic - my twenties were a couple of decades ago now. I'd bemoan my 30's disappearing this year.

Oh bumps what a time you've had - here's a positive - you will be ripe with Vitamin D!

H007 · 01/08/2011 11:33

Hey I'm still in my twenties :)

It's still really early days it's a brand new build in a brand new village, as it's my first ever house I am really excited but just want everything g to be pit away and look nice... Unfortunately realty is boxes, boxes everywhere!

LizzyMathsWhizzy · 01/08/2011 14:04

I'm still in my twenties too H! Does anyone know the average age for having children in this country? I thought 25 would be about average, but I seem to be on the young side apart from a few teenage mums. Just wondering, no offense to any geriatrics Wink or teenage mums out there!
