ditto what everyone else said madkatz, the measurement doesnt take into consideration the amount of fluid you are carrying either. could be an average size baby with alot of fluid.

midwife came today to check scar, she said it looks alot better than it did, so yey, but she still swabbed it and going to find out if it is still infected before they would give me any more anti biotics.

melly wow that 7 weeks has gone so fast! bet you feel like an old pro nowGrin

iwish sorry about your feet, can you wear flip flops? i did at the end, but they hurt my back more if i walked a log way. prob not enough support in them. if its any consolation tho, mine have gone back to normal size now. they look positively daintyGrin

lizandlulu · 04/08/2011 20:42

iwish will you have to have c section if it hasnt moved?

Iwish · 04/08/2011 21:01

Glad your scar is getting better Liz fingers crossed the infection has gone and it will heal nicely.

I can wear some flip-flops but can't drive in them. I'm hoping a can find a pair with a strap round the back so they stay on. I hope mine go back to normal like yours then Grin. Yeh I think it will be a c-section if it hasn't moved but I am keeping my fingers crossed that it has moved.
Is chris helping you any more?

KLou111 · 05/08/2011 09:21

iwish I've worn nothing but crocs since about 24 weeks! Haven't had any swelling or anything so been lucky there, but they are so comfy. I've got nice leather ones too so they're smart. I'll try and find the link on amazon.
Hope your placenta moves :) my friends moved at 36 weeks so she's set for a normal birth. The race is on at the mo as she's due 5 days after me :)

KLou111 · 05/08/2011 09:49

lizandlulu · 05/08/2011 18:03

well, the baby is spending about 2 hours every day awake and for the last few days, shes been awake about 4 ish and i have been letting her have a kick about without her nappy on.
so today she woke about 5, so i fed her and took her nappy off, but shes fell sleep on the changing mat, nappy off, legs wide openGrin i feel likei am violating her dignity or something, leaving her like that!

Iwish · 05/08/2011 18:49

klou I have a normal pair of crocs (well fake ones lol) and I can't fit my feet into them :(. Have been looking around a couple of cheapy shops today and can't find any sandals to fit me. I need something with a strap on the back.
Lol so are you and your friend trying to go into labour frantically to see who wins Grin!

Hmm Liz bet you will give him the look of death if he dare complains of tiredness! Haha at falling asleep like that! Shes probably quite happy haha.

Well I'm tired and just cba. I went to see the consultant today and all is well then went to my friends for a couple of hours after trailing round the shops looking for shoes. Tried to have a sleep on the couch but I was just so uncomfortable I kept waking myself up :(
DP has just got home and is mowing the lawn then we are going to have pizza hut for tea.

lizandlulu · 05/08/2011 20:01

ohh pizza hutSmile nice. bet you just want him out now dont you?

my violets legs are always like that, spread right to the side, she was bruised on her thighs and in the groin area when she was born and the consultant said it was probably to do with how she was sat inside me. she was probasbly legs akimbo for monthsGrin

i have some crocs that i use to go outside in the garden when its wet, they are a mary jane type style, i will see if i can find a link. they are quite wide at the front, not tight across the top of your feet and have 2 straps that can be worn either round the front or back of your foot.

GruffaloMama · 05/08/2011 22:17

Hi All. Klou fingers' crossed that you're in early labour by now. liz - glad Chris is helping a bit more. And DD's default position is legs akimbo too - at least it's not just her! Iwish sorry that you're feet are giving you bother - hope that you find something comfy. It's horrible when you're feeling like that. my feet really puffed up after I had DD - my toes were like sausages. they went down after a couple of days. madkatz I hope you're okay. BTW DD was 10lb2oz but was a much easier labour than DS - who was 8lb8oz - I reckon it was because she was in a better position and it was a natural (rather than induced) labour. And like the others said - the predictions on weight and size are pretty unreliable. I was measuring within tolerances for DD but she was massive (and the midwife could tell by feeling that she was big) - I measured bigger with DS but he was smaller...

All is good here. Just got rid of the FIL - thank god - he was only here for one day though. Mum and dad are back on Monday as DH goes back to work. They can help out with DS for a bit. DD is doing great. HV is due on Monday so should find out then if she's put on weight. Am pretty sure she has as she's feeding plenty and lots of good wet and poo-ey nappies. TMI??? She's very alert too - but sleeping pretty well at night. Usually we're getting a four -hour lump and then another 3-4 hour lump of sleep - totally manageable and better sleep than when I was really pregnant! Still got SPD - will ask the HV about it on Monday as I reckon I'll go back to the physio. Gotta go - DD wants a feed. Have good weekends folks!

Iwish · 05/08/2011 22:26

Yeh liz FWD to October please!!
Pizza hut was yummy, had starters and a pizza! I'm a greedy little piggy Grin
awww the poor little thing being bruised. Hope it's gone now. She must have been in a funny position lol.

Oooh I like those crocs. Might treat myself to some when DP gets paid. I've had a look on eBay for them and they are about £16 new. Saw some pinky/White ones.

Iwish · 05/08/2011 22:29

Hi gruff glad you are little one are doing well. Sorry you still have SPD tho. I hope it goes away soon. Hope you have a lovely weekend :)

KLou111 · 05/08/2011 22:30

Good to hear from you gruff sounds like you've got a good routine going there.

Lol Liz with the legs :)

Quick question, since 9pm I've been getting bh every 5 mins. Very odd. Any of you had this before? Don't want to get too excited that its going to tirn

KLou111 · 06/08/2011 11:08

Nada. Stopped when I went to bed around midnight. They didn't hurt at all, Dh kept watching my belly as he could see it tensing up every few mins, think he was panicking a bit.
We put the car seat in the car yesterday aft just in case something happens soon and I was getting so excited last night, but a big fat nothing :(

OP posts:
lizandlulu · 06/08/2011 17:49

well take heart that it wont be too long nowSmile

Melly20MummyToPoppy · 06/08/2011 20:04

Lol liz pro ain't the word! I feel like i've been doing this parenting lark for years :o Is lulu enjoying being a big sister then? Lol at violet and her legs :o bless her :)

Oh iwish your poor feet, it must be awful for you. I hope you manage to find some shoes to fit soon. Do you soak them in cold water or put peas on them at all? Might help :)

I'm glad you're getting on ok gruffalo, it's great that she's a good sleeper! How's your DS finding being a big brother now?

Hey klou keep persevering with the shagging, my sister told me she went into labour just half an hour after doing it! Mind you, she was 8 days overdue. RE the carseat, i did almost the exact same thing. About half 8 at night on my birthday i told simon he had to fit the carseat there and then. Next morning i went into labour! Hopefully it won't be too much longer for you now, the last few weeks just seem to drag don't they?

Wow im starving. Simons going out to fetch tea, he left about 5 minutes ago and he's still sat on the drive talking on the bloody phone!

lizandlulu · 06/08/2011 21:30

melly she isnt as motherly as i expected her to be, and she is fed up of people asking her what she thinks to the new baby. she just turns away from people and says ' i am bored of people saying that to me'Hmm charming childGrin

she is always asking to hold her, but i think its more cause she knows she looks cute, rather than cause she actually wants to love the baby. she wont kiss her and has only this last couple of days started to hold her fingers.

she will look at her for me to see if shes ok if i am at the sink or something, and pass me things of i am feeding her and cant reach. but shes not as loving to her as i thought she would be. she is just tolerating her at hte moment. but i expect it will all come in time. its not like violet is going anywhereGrin

hows poppy sleeping? violet was every 2 hours again last night, although i dont feel as exhausted as i thoughti would do. but it does catch up with me about 4pm, i could just sit and close my eyes for an hour but cant.

what you having for tea? we just had chinese, was delishGrin

Melly20MummyToPoppy · 06/08/2011 23:11

We had chicken express, which is our kfc and it's delicious!

Poppy is a fabulous sleeper [smug]:o she goes down around 10pm ish, then wakes up about 2-3am, then wakes again about 6.30am when simons alarm goes off, then back to sleep till about 10! So i get a good lie in :o

Sounds like lulu is getting bored of violet stealing all her attention! I'm sure she'll come round to love having her around. My sister was awful when i arrived apparantly, she was 4 when i was born, she used to hit me and squeeze my hands till they went red, and once she tried to tip me out the pram! She only told me that a while ago lol. Just a few examples of sisterly love there :o but when i got a bit older and started to be interesting my sister stopped being evil and got nice! Lulu might just need more time to adjust. She'll probably get more interested in violet when violet becomes more fun if you see what i mean?

KLou111 · 07/08/2011 10:24

Liz lol at Lulu's bored of people asking me that comment!! Aren't kids fab lol!
Bet she'll get into it a bit more soon. Does she complain about the crying or is she one of these children that would sleep through anything??

Envy of Poppy being a good sleeper Melly, can I 'order' one of those!!!

Still nothing here. Spoke to my mum yesterday and she told me to have a hot curry, warm bath, and sex, same night, in that order LMAO!!!

OP posts:
GruffaloMama · 07/08/2011 14:30

Sounds like a good evening Klou Grin ... Hope it works.

melly - Poppy sounds like a star. glad she's being good for you.

Liz - Bless Lulu! DS has been pretty good with Florence - but we've had the odd bit of 'challenging' behaviour - mostly when he's not been getting his usual quota of attention. He does basically seem to like her though. I think 'love' would be pushing it though.

Iwish hope you've had some luck finding shoes.

lizandlulu · 07/08/2011 18:11

gruffalo lulu has been more 'challenging' tooSmile i think all kids do it. she seems to have become more of a diva since the new arrival.

klou so far the baby hasnt woken lulu at night, she will pretty much sleep through anything. but i do try to get a bottle as soon as possible when violet starts to stir, so she doesnt cry too much too loud.

melly i am so so jealous of all your sleepGrin i bet you are getting more now than you did when pregnant! chris had lulu last night till half 3 then brought her into our bedroom where she was awake till about half 4. he had her in the spare room so i could get a chunk of sleep for a change.

we have been to revesby country show today. although i do feel ok going out for the dya, i seem to always have an underlying feeling of panic. well panic is probably too strong, but i am always just aware really of how many bottles we have left, how much time that gives us to get through the day and race to get to see stuff before she wants another bottle. but i spose thats just normal new mum stuff??

GruffaloMama · 07/08/2011 19:28

I hope it's normal Liz. Am breastfeeding Florence so not worried about bottles but can't help thinking about all the possible awful things that could happen... getting tipped out of pram/crashing the car/stopping breathing/taken by some psychopath etc etc etc. I know it's ridiculous and it's not like it stops me doing stuff/enjoying being with her, but it doesn't stop me from thinking about it. I'm not even a 'natural' worrier - I'm pretty laid back about most stuff - but I get quite panicky at the moment. My mum said when I had Thomas that only then would i know what worry really meant. I hate to say it, but she was spot on...
