Bitey, I will try and enjoy my nocturnal fidgeting and thrashing about as making sure DH is truly part of the whole Magical Experience that is diffment. Has got to be better than lying there wondering why the hell my body won't let me sleep when I'm so tired.

And I definitely had a jumper with that pattern on when I was little. It was all the rage in the 70s (for 4 year olds anyway)

LadyGoneGaga · 31/05/2011 22:02

I second Muse, Score. That does not sound like a good position and that will be contributing to the soreness at he will be forever slipping off/pulling back on your nips (hence why they are ending up misshapen). If he is only comfortable on his back can you try him in the rugby ball position? Definietly worth speaking to a BF counsellor though.

The other survival tip to be mastered ASAP is feeding lying down. Once you've cracked that you will be able to sleep when they do and start feeling human again. Smile

Bitey that jumper/bodysuit is too cute though. What's with the lice though? Put me off a bit!

Being sober sucks when you're pregnant and the only one. Go out for meals instead - at least that way there's something in it for you. At least once you've stopped feeling so sick there will be.

OP posts:
Muser · 31/05/2011 23:04

I cannot get comfy feeding lying down. But she's a much faster feeder at night now so it matters less. And she slept for 8 STRAIGHT HOURS last night. It was bliss. No idea if she'll manage the same tonight or if it was a fluke. Blew my theory that my "waking up in a puddle of milk with boobs like melons" days were over though.

You definitely should get some help with positioning though Score. Rugby hold could be a good one, I have used it on occasion myself. But leaning forward will be mucho ouchy.

LadyGoneGaga · 01/06/2011 08:04

That's brilliant, Muse. MiniG doesn't even do that and he's three Hmm. If she keeps it up though your boobs will soon get the message to slow production at night a bit and save your sheets!

Looks like a gorgeous day today but I'm at work Sad. Oh well, at least I finish this month! And should be giving birth NEXT MONTH. OMFG!!!

Morning! Happy due date Rocket. Oh, hang on a minute........... Grin

Its lovely to see both Rocket & Scorps here. I'm sorry you're both having a tough time with the BF though. Obviously as Bug is a lazy monkey I have no words of advice for you. Just lots of love your way. I suppose the only thing I would say is don't be afraid to ask for help. Be it from the wise ESH, MW, health visitor, various BF support groups. One thing I have already learned is that it certainly seems to be an acquired skill. So pliz to be kind to yourselves. You've both brought fabulous little baybees safely into the world, so I'd say you've done a grand job so far.

So we're now on D-Day +2. Bunch. Of. Arse. Ah, June is a fine month for a baybee. Even if it was meant to be in May. You hear that Bug? I've tried talking to him/her, promising that I'll still keep him/her warm & fed on the outside, but s/he's definitely got la-la I'm not listening to mummy mode on. How can I kick start this? I'm not keen on the stretch & sweep delights I've been offered next Monday. I know, that's ages away yet.

In all seriousness, I'm not feeling too bad. I am concerned that as my brain still has not come out of denial I'm somehow delaying labour. If I waited for my brain to catch up I'd still be diffed on my 60th birthday! Failing that I'll tag along with the July cluster lay...............

owlbooty · 01/06/2011 09:19

Lozza dear, do not fret. Your body will do the honours when it feels like it. 2 days overdue is honestly, seriously nothing - as we all know, the mere concept of an actual 'due date' is pretty much a load of hogwash. Next Monday is a lifetime away.

Here, have this extremely large bucket of pina colada with added raspberry leaves as garnish Grin

LadyGoneGaga · 01/06/2011 09:29

June is a lovely month for a birthday, Loz. Has a nice ring to it. Can't remmeber if I already asked you this, is Bug engaged yet?

Have you tried putting Evening Primrose oil capsules up your foof? Put a couple up before you go to bed. They dissolve and help soften up and ripen your cervix.

Scorpette · 01/06/2011 09:55

Thanks guys :) Mr T hates the rugby hold but I have been able to get him to feed tummy to tummy instead of laying on his back like Caesar expecting a serving wench to dangle grapes into his mouth Grin Nipply after-pain getting better too. Still taking 800 attempts to latch on despite doing it fine for the first week of his life, FFS. Is all trial and error, I know. He hates feeding with his head and neck straight and likes to feed over his shoulder, so to speak - weird. Will defo try the nekkid arm pump technique, cheers Muse. He's napping now after a good feed, so feeling OK. HV coming this avo and I meet ring the NCT Booby Lady later for reassurance and tips. I daren't try laying down to feed just yet as am still at 'falling asleep whilst eating' stage!

GG, I can't believe you're so close to your laying date already. Or that poor Lozbags is now over hers. The waiting is shite and in a weird way, I was quite relieved to be induced as it worked for my massive control freak tendencies! It'll happen, L, it'll happen - it has to!!!

BTW, I hope it's okay to chat mum stuff here - still feel more part of the deli right now (and who wouldn't want to hang out with you sexy lot, with your farting, snoring, vomming and cankles? Wink).

PS I managed to kneel down briefly yesterday for the 1st time in months!

Cosmosis · 01/06/2011 10:04

I used to do leg pumping ? always reminded me of when you see lambs tails going when they feed Grin

Ginfox · 01/06/2011 10:28

Scorps glad feeding is getting easier, even if MrT's methods are unorthodox. Think you should take him along to an antenatal class just to annoy the BF instructor. Grin

Also congrats on kneeling down. But the question is, could you also get back up by yourself?

Have installed cot in our bedroom, which is muchos scariness, but is useful as I can haul myself out of bed by grabbing hold of the frame. Otherwise I'm a bit like an upside-down tortoise.

Loz if you were in France, you wouldn't be "due" til next week anyway. Not sure if that's helpful in any way, but still.

Scorpette · 01/06/2011 11:08

Who was it who was craving white peaches t'other day? They're on offer at Ocado :)

laurielou · 01/06/2011 11:09

Evening Primrose up my foof? Are you serious? Thanks for the tip, but I think I'll just stick to the raspberry leaf tea for the time being. Not keen on anything going up foof right now Grin

LadyGoneGaga · 01/06/2011 12:38

Seriously Loz. I did it with MiniG from about 37 weeks. Went into labour on due date. Just saying...

OP posts:
Ivegotmrbitey · 01/06/2011 14:17

Thanks score! Bellini anyone??
Glad the BFing is coming along for you and well done on the kneeling too!

lozenge I have also heard about the evening primrose oil thing, gaga isn't just being a bit kinky (well she might be as well but it is a thing too). The bug is clearly putting finishing touches together and understands the importance of a good first impression Smile

mothercare have moses baskets bedding on offer today, a bale comprising 2 cellular blankets, two fitted sheets and two flat sheets all 100% cotton is £22. Seeing as they charge £10 for one cellular blanket, I consider this a bargain. I may have nowhere for biteybach to sleep but at least he now has a blanket or two!

owlbooty · 01/06/2011 21:53

The evening primrose oil might have other advantages, like a swift and slippery exit for the baybee?

I went into Boots today to obtain free changing bag. This would have worked well had I actually taken it off the counter when leaving the shop. I shall have to go back tomorrow and explain that I am a mentally incompetent over-tired differ and then cry all over the place if they refuse to give it to me.

Bites I reckon those things would fit in a drawer, no? He can sleep in there. Or a cardboard box? Owlet has 3 places to sleep which I am starting to think might be excessive. I have cot; moses basket (second hand) and carrycot for pram thingy. Oh and car seat. Basically the house is full of his shite already and he's not even turned up yet.

Orchid12 · 01/06/2011 22:06

Sorry for being so quiet recently - I decamped up to my mums for half term as I'm struggling to look after mini O by myself which a moohoosive bump and didn't have any access. It's my last week at work next week which I'm REALLY looking forward to now.

Sorry to hear the BF woes, I can remember all too well the toe curling that used to go on when mini O latched on initally. It did pass so please don't think that it will be like this forever!

Mini O is testing my patience at the moment. We potty trained him at Easter and this week he has regressed massively. It's v. frustrating and all the bending and lifting (runnning to the potty/toilet whilst he is piddling/pooing down mine and his legs!) is causing me to have terrible braxton hicks that feel like labour pains. I had to lean over the oven the other night and breathe through them! He's nearly 3 stone so is not the lightest of things to be lugging round. I'm trying not to be too hard on him as I think he is hearing all about the baby and it is unsetling him somewhat poor love. I also think it is partly his age as he is becoming such a cheeky monkey and he is def. taking advantage of me not being able to run after him like I normally can!

LGG sorry to hear about the house move being put back. House buying and selling is another patience tester!

Loz 'tis good you are still feeling ok, but we would like some news please! Feel free to join the July mass lay though if you can hold out that long!?! A good friend of ours had a baby boy today after going 5 days overdue. We're over the moon for them can't wait for baby snuffles soon Grin

laurielou · 02/06/2011 07:54

Morning. Signing in for duty after another baby free night.......

I actually thought last night was going to be IT. I started yesterday with a gentle clean of the kitchen then became like a mad woman obsessed & didn't stop until the house was gleaming. Then my tummy began to ache.... then I went to bed & had a great sleep. Still, I shouldn't be mad about the sleep.

Orcs sorry Mini O is testing you. It amazes me how the little people pick up on changes & set a series of challenges for you. Saw the same with my nephews. Poor SIL. I'm sure you'll pass with flying colours though.

Medee · 02/06/2011 12:00

that does sound promising though, Lou.

Why did no-one mention the Evening Primrose thing when I was 2 weeks over? Not that it would have worked, nothing else did!

LadyGoneGaga · 02/06/2011 12:44

Soz, Medee.

Am slightly freaked out as the first of the Mums due in July babies has just been born. She was a good five weeks early but still Confused. I'm not ready!!!!

Orchid I am finding my braxton hicks feel stronger this time round. Think your womble is stronger from all the practice! But is hard work when they are being testing. When MrG is around i have to get him to come and physically manhandle him when he is playing up. I just can't manage carrying a flailing and kicking three year old. Thankfully he has not regressed in his toileting although his sleeping is shite and he has to sleep with me for much of the night at the moment. We are going to have to have a HUGE family bed at this rate.

I think you won't be long now, Loz. I bet you're a couple of cm dilated already and just not feeling it . Brilliant you are still getting some good sleeps in though. Make the most of it. My SiL was due on Tuesday so she is sharing your pain as well as still no sign.

12 more working days til ML!

OP posts:
laurielou · 02/06/2011 13:10

Do you really reckon I'm dilating already? . My undercarriage has been aching.........

I've decided its prolly not a baby at all. Reckon its a mixture of cake & wind Grin

Can't believe you're so close to mat leave LadyG. Scary when someone of "your group" lays a bit early - makes it that bit closer for you, doesn't it?

Cosmosis · 02/06/2011 13:29

come on loz you've got limited time left to sneeze it out on my wedding anniversary today!

macaroonmum · 02/06/2011 14:01

'Lo all.
between BHs and aching undercarriages it certainly sounds like 'something' is going to happen soon!

I didn't know that about EP oil either... but

memememe warning

in my case it may not even be necessary... at my 30 week (really 31) scan yesterday it seems the baby is still very happily breech and the gynae said that if he hasn't flipped by next visit (in a month) then she'll book the c-section. I no want a c-section. I also tried to explain that I am unlikey to go full term with my track record and asked what would happen if I went into labour at 37 weeks. She replied smilingly that if such a thing would happen then I'd be whisked off for an ECS. :(

I know it's still not too late so have spent most of yesterday and today with bum in air or halfway down steps on all fours, with my ipod in my pants and even a torch pointed at my foof. Gah.

Hope the buzzwams are getting better Rocket and Scorps

macaroonmum · 02/06/2011 14:01

cos happy anniversary!

Ivegotmrbitey · 02/06/2011 14:03

Eek gaga! That is a scary thought! Here's another one; our baybees are due next month Shock

Maybe the bug has been waiting for the sun to come out loz? It's a beautiful day here so I assume you are getting the same Smile Out of interest, what kind of cake do you think you might be having?

I have ordered a moses basket, got one half price in mamas and papas online. Collecting it from the store is going to be problematic since last time I was there I flounced out vowing to never to spend another penny there Blush. May have to send my mum in...

The FDH has stopped throwing up but can't eat yet so is wondering around the house looking pale, the plumber hasn't turned up,the water has stopped coming through the kitchen ceiling as a burst pipe has cut off the whole village and we are in generaly chaos. I remain very calm and zen however as am off for my mother-to-be birthday massage in an hour . I have waited this long to go and am so glad as I really need it after the worst week off ever!

Happy anniversary cosmosaredeliciousbutdeceptivelystrong!

Ivegotmrbitey · 02/06/2011 14:15

cross post maccers, I am sure there is plenty of time to spin minimac round. There's still lots of room for wriggling isn't there? Did the gynae reccomend any positions? biteybach is still resolutely head up and sideways but the MW did not seem that concerned at the last appointment. I have another one on Monday so may be back eating my words and gibbering with fear. I'm intrigued by the torch! Are baybees attracted to light then?
