Bites I've done that with face masks before I was diffed; they always seem to have that effect on me for some reason. Nowt you can do, annoyingly, except wait til it calms down. Which I hope it does soon.

I have a brain the size of a pea tonight and can't remember who was after decent bras but I've found the non-wired ones from Debenhams (I think they may have something to do with Miriam Stoppard?) rather comfy. At this stage in the game I've just bought nursing bras as I figured they might fit for a while, the maternity bras I bought earlier on don't go around my ribcage any more.

Today I washed a few baybee outfits to go in my hossie bag. They got some random oily crap on them from the washing machine, then when I hung them on the washing line it shat it down with rain. I had to wash them again. It has made me irrationally depressed.

Tis lovely to hear of the continued non-vomming btw. There is something special about being able to eat chocolate again after several months of it being the work of the devil and boak-inducing.

I have also been to antenatal class today and learnt a top tip. If you want to relax your pelvic floor to help the baybee get out, stuff your whole fist in your gob and breathe out hard against it. If nothing else it will give your DH a right laugh but it did actually feel like it was doing something when I tried it so not one to test when you might need a wee I would imagine :)

Woo hoo - my SiL has had a baby boy at 7pm this evening! Born on his due date (her previous 2 were early so she was getting a bit frustrated!) First picture of him, he looks just like his big brother (4.5) and is a right cutie. 7lb 6oz too, which is a whole pound bigger than either of the other two. My BiL called me from the delivery room and I heard him wailing at less than an hour old - quite squee inducing I don't mind admitting.

We need to work out when we will get to see him, probably not until next weekend now but it will be so strange holding a newborn and knowing the next time we do it, it will be our own Grin

CluckyKate · 18/06/2011 23:17

Don't worry Orcs - baybee no. 2 was half a pound smaller than his older sister for me and he came 4 days later. 4 months on he's a good 3lbs heavier than she was at the same age [porker]

A thumbs-up for New Look maternity from me. Had never been in one of their shops 'til I got preggers. Is shite quality though and went straight in the dustbin once my bump went.

LadyGoneGaga · 19/06/2011 09:05

Ah, lovely news Truff. It is very squee inducing, isn't it? I got like that cuddling baby Scarlett.

Am due 5 weeks today!!! Sooo not ready yet due to house stuff. But hospital bag is mostly packed at least. And babies clothes washed and ready. So it's more a question of moving and then I think we'll be ok, even if we're living in boxes.

OP posts:
rocketleaf · 19/06/2011 11:58

Squeee for babytruffneph enjoy the cuddles and don't get talked into changing nappies 'for practice' You'll get plenty of that all in good time. Wink

lady sounds like you are as organised as you can be. Glad you have a date to work towards (for moving that is), its not that long now!

I also liked H&M mat stuff although it can be hit and miss, their leggings and 'dance pant' type things are well comfy and I am still living in them. I was also pleasantly surprised by the Next stuff I bought in the sale. Both pairs of trousers were the only none legging mat bottoms I bought and they are not so obviously MW that I cant still wear them, especially loving the chinos, I think someone else bought a pair too? (was it lady?)

On that note I have a couple of things I bought in the sale which I havent worn, one red and black print dress (size 14 I think) from mothercare which I got before I lost my job thinking I would need smarter stuff when I was bigger and a long stretchy black jersey skirt which is a size 16 (bought too big as was going to alter, ha!) If anyone is interested I could send you piccies and then post out to you as I don't think I will ever wear them now and they might as well go to a good home.

BrownB · 19/06/2011 14:19

Rocket - am definitely interested in the clothes. Grin

SilverSky · 19/06/2011 17:09

I'd reco H&M too. The mat leggings are fab as can wear under tunic tops and even under skirts! I think I dressed better when I was pregnant. Prob cos had to make more of an effort as had to think about what to wear rather than chuck any old rubbish on. Dread to think what my return to work wardrobe will be!!

I'm not broody. Honestly. Honestly. That would be ridiculous. And crazy. And stupid.

CluckyKate · 19/06/2011 20:58

Do it Silv. Take it from me - second babies are a doddle compared to fecking toddlers. Seriously. Not crazy, ridiculous or stupid at all Grin.

LadyGoneGaga · 19/06/2011 21:30

I'm liking that view, Kate. Certainly hope so.

Go on Silv...go for it Wink

Morning Just wanted to check that ancient mid thirties women can and do get pregnant. And it seems they do.

owlbooty · 20/06/2011 09:58

GG good luck today with the evil GTT :)

Rie pliz to accept scones with jam and cream to prevent grumping.

macaroonmum · 20/06/2011 10:38

GG fingers crossed for today!

I will also definitely pass on random mat clothes to whoever wants them but they are summery things so might not suit whoever is due this winter Confused

Aries Pliz to have bottle of red to wash down scones and take edge off grumpiness Sad

Silv 8 months... I remember the 18 months moment being the first time I thought I'd be able to manage another one! So...that would work out about right if you start trying now.

Truffs congrats on neph arrival.

bitey how's the face? Smile

I am in a particularly good mood today as managed to convince TIS to take holidays for a few days and we found a fantastic last minute offer for a farmstay in Tuscany. I can't wait! Although I am a tad nervous considering I started clock-watching last night after a particularly long series of BHs... I think it's just because we'd been out all day and I'd done too much walking but will be checking where nearest hospital is just in case

BrownB · 20/06/2011 11:35

Tuscany farmhouse sounds wonderful Maca. Very jealous. The only time off I have to look forward to right now is a couple of days when my OH is at court fighting the removal order his ex has filed ref his 6 year old boy. The rest of the summer awaits the result of this.

Rie - I left something in the Palace for you...

LGG - good luck today.

Truffs - how was the snuffling? Grin

Silv - I couldn't possibly comment. But tell us about the chastity belt... Grin

LadyGoneGaga · 20/06/2011 12:06

Tuscany should be amazing, Macca. I also had a series of BH's 5 mins apart lasting 2 hours last night so think is just a second time round thing. No mucus stuff going on so I bet is just practise!

Had the GTT, was ok, bit dull. I passed the first pinprick test (if had failed that would have been straight to Consulantat, do not pass Go, do not sneeze a baby out naturally). Don't get the rest of results until tomorrow. And also waiting to hear whether we have exchanged contracts today or not. So a bit of edge of seat sitting all day long. Hope have passed though - especially as have avoided cake, biscuits and suagr for a whole week!!!!

It WILL happen, lovely. Especially as you now have "Technology" on your side. And you don't want to have MS during your busiest month of the year anyhow

OP posts:
macaroonmum · 20/06/2011 14:05

I was thinking about you with each tightening last night GG! Glad your GTT wasn't too bad. I had it done about a month ago (general screening here ). Hope you get loadsa good news between today and tomorrow.

In other, less interesting news, I am now obsessed with Granny smiths.

LadyGoneGaga · 20/06/2011 14:35

Ha, we can be in false labour together, Macca. I am currently obsessed with Braeburns. Are we the same person? Grin

Some good news at last. We have exchanged! So definitely moving on Independence day - 37+1. Let's hope baby can stay in until then.

How is Ourkid doing? Now massage has been had is Baby O ready for the sneeze?

OP posts:
LadyGoneGaga · 20/06/2011 14:38

Oh, and I have a contraction timing App on my phone which I was testing out last night. Will def use in labour. Last time I used a laptop which was rubbish as had to keep near the laptop.

I had a little rummage (reminded me of TTC days) to see if I could feel my cervix or anything but well, well out of my reach thus far and I presume as unripe as a Sainsbury's avocado. Which is a Very Good Thing!

OP posts:
owlbooty · 20/06/2011 15:15

Ooh. Macca and GG I feel the same about golden delicious. Apples FTW.

Hoorah for the exchanging and also for passing the finger prick test - may the rest of your news also be peachy (or appley)

I too want a holiday in a tuscan villa. Wah.

macaroonmum · 20/06/2011 16:59

So technological GG! I think I used a watch or something last time and this time was watching the clock on the telly...

I forgot to mention that I'm off to get my toes burnt tomorrow in an effort to turn this boy. Cigar anyone?

Not really villa Boots, more like a farm but will put link up when i come back if it's worth returning to! Definitely a hoiday worth thinking about someday - great for kids and loads of wine

Ocarina · 20/06/2011 17:06

Hooray for exchanged contracts GG, now hoping for good GTT results.

Macca I'm a little concerned for your poor toes. I'm sure they thought they had nothing to do with this baby business and were going to escape, and now you'r threatening to burn them! Hope it works.

I've just been to a physio class talking about positions for labour which was useful but still feels very unreal that I need to know about such things. More excitingly I've booked a differs massage thing for Friday having decided that was a good thing to spend Tesco points on. No-one's going to want me to do any work on a Friday afternoon are they????

BrownB · 20/06/2011 18:42

Occy - Maybe it can be a "doctors appointment"? Wink

I am finding work very difficult right now. So tired and yuck feeling. Please tell me it gets better? EnvyEnvy Apparently my skin looks good though. Green suits me.

Medee · 20/06/2011 18:58

good news, Lady GG.

Truffkin · 20/06/2011 19:21

Congrats on the exchanging GeeGee and how was the actual GTT testing experience? I have to have one around 28 weeks (already booked as I don't need to see the consultant anymore) as I am hideously obese (they weighed me at 13 weeks and were unhappy with my BMI, so I am a bit about this diagnosis) and am wondering if it's massively annoying to sit for 2 hours after drinking a bottle of lucodaze (yuk) in a hospital waiting room.

Unfortunately no actual snuffling yet as we're 120 miles from the lovely new TruffNeph. We did facetime them yesterday though so had a good peek at him. The new Mommy looks very well, although confirmed it was just as painful the third time round! Neph is tres cute and looks just like his big brother did when he was a newborn. Amusing reactions from the big brother and sister who cheered and cried respectively on learning he is a boy Grin We are currently trying to work out plans for a visit this weekend, although my Dad and family are staying with us so it will be a bit of a flying round trip. The following week is our 20 week scan and my Mom is coming to stay, so it's this weekend or we won't meet him until he's nearly a month old, which simply won't do.

Oche the massage sounds amaze and you have inspired me to have a look at how many points we have in various clubcard / nectar coffers. That could be a very good way to make food shopping more attractive!

In other news, I am hoping I have not jinxed myself by preening about my non-sicklyness as have had quite a vomfest of a day today. In the bigger scheme of things it will be far better if it's one day in every 14 but am hoping it has been a one-off and normal service can be resumed tomorrow.

Rie pliz to have this grope from me? Will also contribute this lovely roast dinner followed by a baileys and chocolate fudge cheesecake I have made, to the swag bag, for your eating pleasure.
