I'm not going to do the stats as it took up so much of every page! Welcome, everyone!

nicolamumof3 · 01/07/2011 23:12

yes baby is head done here and i feel like that button, lots of nudging, some sharp pains constant need for loo! She's currently head down lying on my right hand side.

buttonmoon78 · 01/07/2011 23:20

That's ok then. I know this is #4 but it was only #1 who was the correct way up (or down) this early on so I'm not used to it!

Time for a quick soak then off to bed I feel. At least dh is away so I don't need to worry about moaning out loud when I try to turn over.

Hi all, have been missing you guys! I keep having a little read. A few more days and there babies are going to start popping all over the place.

We are still in hospital. They want baby Hannah to start putting weight on before we go home. THe midwife said again yesterday that if it had been two more days we would be home, so i am trying to stay positive as it means she is getting a really good start to feeding and I am able to just focus on her. The milks coming in and she is feeding so well.

I can't wait to post my full birth story when I get home as it was really fab.

Hang on in there everyone, not long now x

JimmyChoo17 · 02/07/2011 11:26

Am eagerly awaiting nice birth story :)

Want2bSupermum · 02/07/2011 12:23

Cara great to hear you are doing well. I love the name Hannah. It was #1 on my list but DH doesn't like it much.

Well today is my due date and nothing is happening. It is july 4th this weekend so have made plans to see friends pretty much all weekend. I don't want to go into labour until at least Tuesday as all the decent doctors are away!

HighFibreDiet · 02/07/2011 13:51

Have had a busy week - ds3's birthday party and real birthday on Mon and Wed; acupuncture and midwife visit this morning; ds2's early birthday party this afternoon. Ds2's birthday is actually 11th July but I wanted to get the party over with before I'm too heavy and fed up. Boys on holiday for the next two weeks but ds1 is going on a residential 'adventure camp' for four nights next week and I think it would be a shame if the baby came while he was away. So I'm trying to hang on... but hope she will come out before the due date, especially as my midwife is away that weekend!

Congrats to Cara Smile

Know what you mean High heels, ive been so busy since finishing work 3 weeks ago that i actually think being in hospital for 3 days post c-sec will give me time to breathe lol.
well had my last ever visit to antenatal clinic yesterday just for bloods to be taken and actually felt quite emotional when i left. got to be at hospital for 8am on tuesday morning for prep for my c-section (should of been Monday but was given 5th instead - think posh nicked my space the cow - v annoyed!) but could be anytime or even the next day before i get to meet my little man (no2) as they have to try slot me in inbetween the emergency c-secs and other labour related operations. Still its all very close now. Fab asked to be added on facebook so have added her in as well.

Hi All,

Feel like I may not manage to be on here much after this weekend as my Mum is going home, and DH will be working, as well as it being the summer holidays, so two boys at home full time.

Whoever asked about sweeps, I had one with DS2 and found it uncomfortable but not sore. Although it may have helped that I was already 3cm. I was in pain for the rest of the day after it though. And he was born later that night.

SpannerPants · 02/07/2011 18:52

I've just got back from a reflexology session and am incredibly relaxed Grin managed to fall asleep 3 times in the hour and wake myself up with snoring, which was embarrassing but apparently I'm not the first!

She was showing me some of the points and although the "uterus" areas on both of my feet are noticeably swollen, the right one is much more so, which is strange because the baby seems to prefer lying on the right side so I usually have a noticeably wonky bump!

My parents are hoping that I have the baby on 4th July as it is their 30th wedding anniversary but I think he's more likely to be early than late - I was 2 weeks late after all.

How are you getting on Eglu - sounds like you're going to be busy after the weekend!

Haven't heard anything from Pesha for a little while, hopefully things are happening for her now :)

Eglu · 02/07/2011 19:28

Spannerpants thanks for asking. I had a bit of a wobble when my Mum left this afternoon. It kind of freaked me out that I'm going to be on my own with all three. Lily has calmed down now and isn't screaming as much as she was, and will allow me to put her down occasionally. She will just need to get used to having to wait I suppose as I can't drop everything for her.

Hoping someone is going to come on here and announce the first July baby soon. Hopefully Pesha and Want2be.

I also forgot to mention earlier that I recommend Tesco newborn nappies. I've never used anything other than Huggies or Pampers before for newborns, but the Tesco ones hold everything in just as well, and are much cheaper. And for first timers, after the newborn phase I don't think you can get better than Lidl or Aldi.

nicolamumof3 · 02/07/2011 19:46

always scary that first time alone isn't it Elgu, but you get through it and feel a little bit proud of yourself. I always used to set myself a tiny task like washing my hair, or loading the diswasher and if i got that done in the early days on my own i was happy.

I will be alone after the first week as dh only taking a weeks leave, and will have the three boys here too, so going to be very busy but will probably be a good distraction and force me to get out and about. Think i will have lots of offers of playdates for the younger too as well, but maybe thats just wishful thinking!!

I love tesco nappies too Eglu, haven't used any nappies at all for over a year so bit out of it but always found the tesco ones good.

Want2bSupermum · 03/07/2011 01:57

Great to hear about tesco and aldi nappies. When we visit the UK in September I don't want to have to bring stuff like that from here. We are signed up to the amazon mom program so we pay $18 for 200+ boxes of diapers plus I can use coupons to get additional money off (usually get $4-6 off each box). Delivery takes 2 days and is free the program automatically signs you up for prime shipping for free for the first 3 months and it continues for as long as you buy a certain amount of stuff from them.

Nothing is happening on this front. I will have a better idea after my hospital and obn appointments this week of what they are planning for me. My godmother is driving down from Canada on Wednesday and will stay until I ask her to leave (if I have a c section she will stay until I can drive). It is looking more and more likely that I will need a c section. It isn't the route I wanted to take but I am willing to go there now.

buttonmoon78 · 03/07/2011 07:37

For those of you who are thus minded, could you say a little prayer for DH's aunt? Due to wierdness of generations in his family she's our age so feels more like a good friend - got three kids, two teens and a little one. Anyway, she had breast cancer 2.5 years ago, all went well. However, she's been in hospital for tests this week and had it confirmed yesterday that she has secondaries in her liver and both lungs. They've not given her a prognosis yet but in my laymans understanding I don't think it's good - more when rather than what. I'm so hormonal at the moment that I cry every time I think about it because of her kids and dh as much as her. V sad.

Hope everyone is ok. Not really read the rest. Will try to later.

Oh button, am so sorry to hear. That. Thoughts and wishes are with you and your family. Life is so cruel sometimes and always to the wrong people!

Our first July baby is on it's way, copied from facebook.....

"Am in hospital, 6cm, baby head still not quite in cos of all waters. All getting very painful now tho and I'm heading towards the 'I've changed my mind I can't do it' stage!! Please put on mn"

Good luck!

JimmyChoo17 · 03/07/2011 09:12

Ps that's from Pesha who was determined to jump the queue!

sues1974 · 03/07/2011 10:26

So sorry to hear that Button, it doesnt sound good but hears wishing and praying for the best for her and her family, cancers always a terrible thing and robs so many people of loved ones but especially unfair when its a younger person with children or kids themselves.

Good luck Pesha looking forward to hearing birth announcement and story xx

Pesha · 03/07/2011 16:53

Baby boy was born at 9:57 this morning weighing 9lb exactly. Had waters broken by drs cos of excess at 9:15 ish and all went a bit crazy after that! He's been feeding well tho and has lush little milky Tongue already!! Smile And now been asleep for 2 hrs despite me changing his nappy and I am bored! Dp gone to get kids and I'm waiting on paediatrician to come check him over so I can go home.
Am in lots of pain still (after pains, SPD and split tummy muscles) but totally in love with him SmileSmile

LadyGoneGaga · 03/07/2011 17:30

Congratulations Pesha. He sounds amazing - big babies always seem to establish feeding etc really well. Hope you get home soon Grin

We are finally moving house tomorrow. Then begins Project Eviction!

JimmyChoo17 · 03/07/2011 17:34

Oh Pesha I'm so pleased for you!!!!!! Congrats!!

I have to admit I have begun to feel daunted by the fact that I can go into labour at any point and really wonder how I am going to do it!!! Life will have changed all from that second too....I think I'm more mentally prepared for that than I am for childbirth. All the how will I manage it, the pain, anything like tears, will baby be ok, will I be ok, will react to any of the medication, will the baby have something wrong with it that never realised.

suddenly feel clueless about it all and not clued up about breathing as was told don't do anything other than pant during crowning???? My labour class was rubbish.

Sorry if this all sounds pathetic, but this is my first and the realisation of pushing something out of my fanjo has just kicked in. Big time. God help me on the day!!!!

I suppose what did it was THAT scene during knocked up which I finished watching today.....

Panicked jimmy.com In need of a slap!!

Want2bSupermum · 03/07/2011 18:23

Button Thoughts are with your DH's family. Awful to go through that, especially when you hear of children being affected.

Pesha Congratulations! You bloody stole my due date!! I am relegated to the fact that I am not going into labour anytime soon. Baby has their legs all the way to the right and I can feel the head burrowing into my left hip. DH was joking last night that he was going to shine a torch up me so baby can follow the light and get into position.

Jimmy I hear what you are saying. I have been saying to myself that woman have been doing this for centuries so get over yourself and get on with it. I have told myself repeatidly that childbirth is a normal part of the cycle of life and the doctors are there to make sure you make it through this passage safely, just like a vicar is there to baptise, marry and bury you. It sounds really silly but it put my mind (whats left of it anyway) at ease.

SpannerPants · 03/07/2011 19:57

Well done Pesha!

Sorry to hear about your DH's aunt Button - hopefully the news won't be as bad as you're expecting. There have been a lot of advances with breast cancer which has spread - a lot of new treatments have been developed so it's not the automatic death sentence it used to be.

Good luck with the house move Ladygonegaga, hope it goes smoothly.

I've had horrible, constant backache for the past 6hrs which won't go away despite paracetamol, stretching over a birthing ball or a heat pad. I've had quite a few braxton hicks as well so I'm not sure if something is starting or if the baby is just pressing on a nerve. I can't get comfortable and feel really restless and grumpy. I'm debating getting the tens machine out to see if that helps!

LadyGoneGaga · 03/07/2011 20:43

Oooh, Spanner - exciting. Have you tried getting onto all fours and doing cat stretches to help take pressure off your back. Hope it is the start of something and not just a really horrid back ache. Good luck!

JimmyChoo17 · 03/07/2011 20:49

Have been having mild period style cramps and back pain today but more mid back or around bra strap so might just be weight of bump....about to order my tens hire machine but u can guarantee i'll go inti labour before it arrives!

nicolamumof3 · 03/07/2011 21:40

evening all hope things are happening spanner and jimmy you never know!

am having sharp stabbing pains 'down below' a bit grumpy and uncomfy myself!! But think im in for a long wait now, could be another four weeks in theory Shock
