Hi all just popping in
Congrats to the new mums!!!
I'm working up to 39 weeks now purely to get more time to handover and less stress this week (my cover only started today) plus I get to take my saved leave back next year at the end of my mat leave.....just realised tho all my hard work and being conscientious is a waste of time as the major work I've been doing this year won't be taken into account next April when they award performance pay rises. What a mug. Will slow down now but wish this thought had popped into my head earlier in month!

Anyway as long as baby is ok with me working at least it's an extra week of pay. Def going off at 39 weeks tho if I don't pop before!

Sorry I haven't really read up on everyone's post will catch up later in week seem go be non stop this week in and out of work....I hope everyone is ok tho

Button: I know you are worried about having a section so will tell you how I am feeling. Ds3 was delivered last night at 8pm and now at nearly 11pm the following day I don't have a catheter or any drips attached. Able to take myself to the toilet and feed, change and dress ds3. Taking oral painkillers regularly as don't want to know if I should be in more pain as at the moment it really isn't bad and will be ready to go home tomorrow. So honestly speaking I am not in agony and am quite comfortable.

Stangirl · 29/06/2011 06:10

Congratulations on all the new babies!

Had final MW mtg today (section booked for 11/7 and ob meeting next week). She said that baby had moved from head down to more transverse so it was just as well I'm having a section. I'm also now measuring big (couple of weeks ago growth scan said 7lbs 7oz already) - so it looks like a big 'un. Between now and then I have 3 gig to go to - hope I make them.

Message from Cara-

Baby girl born 11.50pm, 6lb. All fine with baby so far. I feel like I have been kicked in the fanJo by a horse...but very happy and no stitches.

buttonmoon78 · 29/06/2011 07:29

Another baby!

Bless you Mitchell thank you for thinking of me. Being nice to me makes me cry though Grin

Slept really well last night and feel rested today. The sun is shining and I've just had some yummy grapefruit. I haven't been in a good mood like this for ages! Grin

Midwife appointment this morning, last time she was running an hour late so I'm going to take a book with me today! (I usually book her first appointment and arrive 15 mins before her and it really annoys me when people are late)

Congratulations Cara, hope you had a good night with your little one and looking forward to hearing about the birth!

highheelsandequations · 29/06/2011 09:11

Congratulations to the new mums, no time to catch up properly now, will be back later to read all the news.

nicolamumof3 · 29/06/2011 09:20

spanner i feel good today too, and just had some grapefruit.

storm yesterday cleared the air, and we have beautiful sunshine with a nice breeze warm enough for shorts on the boys but not hot hot. Im feeling on top of things today going to do a little bit of housework and potter about this morning while i feel ok.

have a good day all x

Want2bSupermum · 29/06/2011 13:56

congrats cara. Thank you for posting Pesha.

Waiting for the obn office to open in 15mins so I can ask to speak to one of the doctors. Yesterday was a disaster. If I don't eat and drink on a regular schedule I get very hormonal. I ended up crying for most of the day. Poor DH came home to find me in floods of tears. He tried everything to cheer me up and I kept telling him that I wasn't upset just hormonal. I ended up falling asleep at around 1.30am after eating a huge bowl of grapes and drinking a litre of water. The good news is that I feel fine now. I told DH to make sure I eat properly after we have the baby. Lack of food is a major problem for me.

Spanner My biggest complaint about the medical profession is the wait times. If I have a client I am meeting with I make sure I am ready to see them at the agreed time. Why have an appointment system if you don't follow it?

MissLolita · 29/06/2011 14:18

hello everyone, hope we are all doing ok? I picked up my eBay birthing pool this morning so babyL can come whenever she likes now! :)

buttonmoon78 · 29/06/2011 16:02

Grin Grin Grin

Woke up this morning and said to DH 'baby feels different'. Got to the scan, saw the most grumpy sonographer you've ever seen, baby is head down, well down in pelvis, LOA.

Was totally Shock

Then went in to see the most lovely registrar who had also had an OP baby and spd so totally understood my 'issues' and am booked in for induction on July 15th. That is 16 days away!

Can't stop Grin

Also, will be seeing anaethetist on arrival for induction to ensure that I can get epi set up immediately even if I never use it.

brilliant new button - you must be so relieved!

JimmyChoo17 · 29/06/2011 16:55

Brilliant news button but am slightly envious that this means u r jumping the queue (where's Pesha when I need her to back me up on this!) Grin

Had nhs labour session today. Not worth it all but it was nice to have plenty of Time to talk to the midwives at the end 1-2-1 which my own midwife does not have time to do. They were both lovely. Didn't learn anything new and hubby found a waste of time total opposite to last weeks breastfeeding one.

7 more days at work to go! Hope I dont pop at work!

nicolamumof3 · 29/06/2011 17:19

Great news button!

Want2bSupermum · 29/06/2011 17:40

Button Great news!

Jimmy You are doing so well to be working up to 39wks. I was hoping to work until last week but difficult to work in the office when I have to have my legs in the air for so much of the day. Our year end for reviews is July 31st. I have arranged to go in for my review meeting in August and told HR I have to bring the baby with me. My meeting is with two people I know well and the guy is a father to two children. When it comes to work I am damned if I am going to be sidelined because I am off having a baby.

I spoke to one of my doctors this morning. They said they are going to scan me next week at their office to check the position vs my pelvis as this was not done at the hospital yesterday (as I thought). It is a good thing I am not working as I have so many appointments to attend. Goodness knows what I will do when it comes to baby #2. I am starting to understand why so many of our friends stop at one.

JimmyChoo17 · 29/06/2011 19:54

....quick note...I feel I should share something with you.....big and chunky choc chip flap jack cookies......that is all Grin

sounds so good jimmy. I can't do cookies, bread... pretty much any baked good because of the salt content :(

JimmyChoo17 · 29/06/2011 20:50

I'll have your share...only if u insist ;-)

Honestly these things dipped in a decaff skinny latte rule.

Dribble, dribble......

I do wish I had my old craving...salad! Cookies are fattening! Xx

missnevermind · 29/06/2011 21:22

Just butting in to say well done Buttonmoon baby.
I had to search the posts to see what your outcome was today, not what I was expecting at all. So pleased for you. Grin

Just a quick one, will post full birth story later. It was, bizarrely, slower than my first labour but more chilled out and I felt more in control, despite being in hospital. I feel unbelievably well afterwards. The whole experience has really changed my view on hospitals and hospital births.

She has fed 13 times since she was born 16 hours ago! They've said we can go home as long as she hasn't lost more than 10% of her birth weight by day 3. I have had a horrendous night surrounded by screaming babies, including mine, and am now wide awake and resigned to sleeping all day instead.

Those of you getting impatient...keep em inside! It is hard feeding a 6lber with the pressure from the hospital to gain weight. I have to fill in a feeding record...I don't even wear a watch and couldn't tell you what day it is. Confuddled, I really feel for you and the hard time you must be having.

Button, amazing news. My baby was slightly posterior but it only affected the pushing position, not the contractions.

buttonmoon78 · 30/06/2011 07:53

Poor you Cara. I had a similar experience with dd1 when she had reflux at 8wks - I had to weigh her before and after each feed, weight each nappy blah blah...

I'm now doing lots of online research into optimal fetal positioning to avoid baby turning op. The problem is that with spd my options are limited as many of the positions require you to be opening the pelvis - not a good thing!

You sound a bit fed up want2be. I hope things start happening for you soon.

I am so fed up with being grumpy and uncomfortable that today I am summoning all my strength to go to the Arcade Fire Hyde Park gig. It's an earlyish start - around 4pm - as there are loads of bands on. Hope I don't go into labour.
