I've posted this in PG, but thought you'd all appreciate seeing a celebrity looking like a real person. Hats off to her - in a world populated by Victoria Beckham and other stick thin pg and newly not-pg people, it's nice to see a celeb looking normal!

Good luck Dyerlou but if you have your baby before me I will never speak to you again Wink

Hi and welcome Purple.

Want2b - I can't really manage ice cream without it making me nauseous (pg brain in overtime at moment and cannot work out how that is meant to be spelt (and should that be spelt or spelled?? My mother is an English teacher and would be so ashamed of me right now!!)) but I have been eating ice lollies by the dozen!

Button - I could have written your post yesterday -
I am so fed up now. I have (apparently) grown since yesterday. Nearly all my tops are getting too short (is obviously not my bump getting too big). - Yep, I am down to only 2 tops which will reliably cover my bump, or I thought I was until I noticed this morning that actually I now have to keep pulling these down too to ensure proper coverage!
I am finding it difficult to drive. - Yep, getting in the car is hard enough but am now at the point where I'm questioning if I'm even safe to be driving cos it all hurts.
I can't breathe. - Yep, went for a meal at Frankie & Bennys for DP's father's Day treat as he was working all Sunday and I ate more than I normally would and found breathing actually painful for the rest of the night as there just isn't room for food, baby and oxygen in my body anymore Hmm
I'm getting lots of BH which are really painful and make me stop and breathe through them every time. - Yep! And then you get people asking if you're ok and 'ooh looks like it'll be soon then!' Fuck off
I'm getting hoofed in all my painful bits cos baby is still breech. - Not quite, baby is not breech but is poking around a lot on my cervix, at times meaning I am unable to walk for a few minutes until he's shifted off.

Don't you just luuurve the last trimester Hmm I'm coming to the conclusion that my body was just not designed to carry babies 4 times and I should have just quit while I was ahead and stopped at 3! That or I'm just too old now!

Was going to say more but getting a headache now so going to go back to bed for a bit while ds2 is at playschool. Keep waking up at crack of dawn and not being able to get back to sleep until about half an hour before my alarm goes off Hmm

Pesha · 21/06/2011 10:01

Button - yes have seen a few pics of her out and about since having the baby and really admire her for not trying to hide away and cover up untill shes back to pre pg weight.

If I hid away till losing all baby weight I'd have been in hiding for 4 years now!! I'm sure I'm going to have a really flabby tummy after having this one, my tummy muscles have split massively and I'm not looking forward to trying to find things to wear all summer. I'm not normally remotely influenced by slebs or even that interested TBH but for some reason I do find it quite comforting seeing her with a baby belly still. Although I strongly suspect that when she is back to a flat, toned tummy I will still look a good 6 months gone!!

Eglu · 21/06/2011 11:37

Hi All,

Just trying to catch up. Am 38 weeks today like Twit. Only 14 days to go. Not had a late one yet, so fingers crossed. Grin

I still need to sort presents for the boys too. Am ordering a couple of Fireman Sam things online today for DS2 and am getting DS1 some Lego.

I've had a tough weekend as DS1 has wet the bed 3 nights in a row, at age 7.10. I think he is sub consciously stresses about the baby. Going to get some pyjama pants today, not that he wants them, but I can't change a top bunk every day. He got quite upset this morning about it, normally it doesn't bother him too much, but because it has been 3 nights together he is really upset. Sad

On top of that DS2 was up 3 times in the night vomiting on Sunday, so I had his bedding to wash too. Fortunately got it all out yesterday before the rain for the rest of the week.

My mw should be dropping off the home birth kit today. If she has one. They have a lot of births booked atm and she needs to get one together.

Button I was pleased to see those pics of Pink too. A normal post pregnancy woman.

I really would like this baby to come this week as next week is the last week of term for my boys at school, as well as our village festival. THere is so much going on and I think it would be much easier with a newborn than being this huge lump I am now.

buttonmoon78 · 21/06/2011 12:27

Pesha i'm not normally that bothered either but it was lovely to see someone looking the way nature intended! BTW, I've just been to Sainsbury's where they've got loads of reduced clothes. I'm planning on wearing my maternity linen trousers most of the summer as they don't really look like maternity ones, but I was stuck for tops that aren't obviously maternity and would be ok to feed in. Got 3 camisole type tops - one pink linen, one rust linen, one rust cotton and two longline vests for less than £25. Went for a size bigger in all and thought if I can't wear them next year who cares for £25?!

Eglu poor you (and boys!) - all that washing.

Just been to MW. Got a trace of protein in urine and bp is up slightly so I am to be 'alert' for other symptoms of PE. She said baby was def not full breech but agreed me on positioning when I described what I thought. She also said that I should stick to my guns if I want a section rather than having ecv. Coming from a v v pro-natural birth MW I was quite surprised.

Am utterly shattered now Grin

Oh oh, Button, several people have told me im small for how far gone i am (ducks) hehe it may be because im having a girl that or shes just going to be really dinky!

I was told by the midwife a couple of weeks ago now I have a deceptively small bump because all my measurements are fine! :)
Thanks for the welcomes people :)

dyerlou · 21/06/2011 12:46

Hi just back from midwives and no sweep! could have a bloody good weep actually! was sure that, that would happen don't know why am so upset about it! baby is not engaged at all it is at brim! so have an appointment to go back and try nxt wk when am 39wks! but I have no faith that will be able to have one then either as am on no 3 and might not engage till labour! am so going to be pregnant forever! just wanted one baby on time!!!!!!!!! Eglu I am plaining a homebirth this time (not had one before) and asked about a pack (I really want one) and my midwife just said oh you don't get one we will bring everything you need on the day! Confused am really worried that they wont make it and hubby will deliver with no stuff (sorry for the stuff but don't know whats in a pack) gosh feeling very fraught today! sorry ladies!

Stangirl · 21/06/2011 13:19

Saw Consultant Ob today and he gave me all clear on everything (apart from trace of protein in urine which they are testing). I also asked if I would be allowed to have a third ELCS if I were ever to go for a third child (I had been following a thread that said that hospitals become less likely to give them with increasing numbers of sections) and he said that at Kings they would practically insist on me having a section after a previous 2 - so that's one possible future worry off my mind. He said he personally done an eigth section on one woman.

sues1974 · 21/06/2011 13:23

aw sorry to hear that dyerlou, fingers crossed for next week. Sorry to hear of your tough week Eglu, must be hard, i struggle just when my 2 year old wont sleep thru.
I had my final scan and obs apt yesterday, was supposed to be having a section on 4th july (was given this date from week 13) and couldnt get in so now going in on the 5th. I reckon Posh has really nicked my place and is secretly having her baby in a Leeds hospital :)
baby is estimated to be 6lb 6oz, but taking it with a pich of salt as DS1 was estimated to be 6lb 13oz and was born at 5lb 08oz 2 weeks later!
got to go back for a pre op assessment and bloods etc next monday then that will be it.
feeling quite good at mo and have been getting on with housework today and sorting baby stuff out, still got loads to do though so baby better not come before the 5th.

Mitchell81 · 21/06/2011 13:45

TMI but anyone suffering from piles. Have never had them in pregnancy before and am in so much pain. Can hardly move without wanting to cry. I have had a greet pregnancy so far and now this. Tried creams, fyogel although not constipated so must just be pressure of baby.

buttonmoon78 · 21/06/2011 13:54

I have them but as vulval varicosities instead. DH calls them my vulval monstrosities Grin

I can't offer any advice, sorry. Feels like I'm always sitting on an ostrich egg or something. The only thing which helps them in the slightest is a bath or lying with my feet up.

You have my sympathies.

buttonmoon78 · 21/06/2011 13:55

Make that an ostrich egg coated in something painful.

Eglu · 21/06/2011 15:39

Sues it seems you will be having your baby on my due date. DS2 came on his due date, so not expecting this one to.

Forgot to say that lovely MIL and Mum are driving me mad with their trying to helpful. My MIL said if I go into labour in the day then she will take the boys to her house. Very kind of her but she lives in the next town and doesn't drive, so it means a 30 min bus journey. THis means the boys wouldn't get to meet the baby straight away and that is very important to me. Fair enough if she wants to take them out of the house, but I don't wantthem to leave the village. Just something I feel strongly about. Also expecting labour to only be about 1 hour, so I don't see the need for them to go anywhere.

And as for my Mum, she has told my MIL, and not me, that after the baby is born she will take the boys to her house for a few days to give me rest. Again very kind of her, but she lives 2 hours away. I don't want my boys away from me. Fortunately DH completely agrees on this one. He said it can't be until at least a week after the birth and for no longer than a weekend. Although they are not little, I still think it wouldn't be nice for them to be away when I have a new baby. I am getting myself totally wound up about these things, probably because I am so hormonal. I know that it is not a big deal really but little things can seem so huge at this stage.

wow that turned into a bot of an essay.

Eglu · 21/06/2011 16:18

My home birth pack has just been delivered. It all feels real now

dyerlou If your DH has to deliver the baby then I doubt you would use anything for the home birth kit. It is really just midwife stuff. You just need a warm towel to wrap the baby in. Grin

Want2bSupermum · 21/06/2011 17:59

Heya - Button That is right. No salt so no ice cream. I am on a diet of fruit, veg, non-salted nuts and bland meat. It is shocking that so much food has salt in it. They want me eating around 10% of the daily allowance. Everything is so so bland.

Pesha ice lollies have been my thing during this pregnancy. I found some really nice cheap ones which are 100% fruit. The grape is so yummy.

eglu I hear you regarding parents. We are having issues with my MIL. I won't bore everyone here with the details but the MIL has some explaining/apologizing to do.

purpleplump · 21/06/2011 18:28

Eglu Make sure you put your foot down regarding where your children will stay whilst in labour which I'm sure you will, that would irritate me no end as it would seem they making plans without even consulting you! How would they feel if it was their children? Ooh I get annoyed too easily. Blame the hormones eh?

want2b feel sorry for you hun I can't do without a bit of salt on my chips etc. Cut down since I been preg as feared i might hurt baby for some reason! Also was trying to be 100 percent healthy at first but im ashamed to say it didnt work!

Me at the moment im sat down having a well earned rest, just decided to pull the cooker out and give it a well good clean! Not the best of ideas at 38 weeks! Everywhere is relatively tidy now but I'm really fussy at the moment and it just doesn't feel clean enough no matter what I do. Pregnancy thing?

Hope everyone is getting on okay with everything :)

Want2bSupermum · 21/06/2011 20:34

purple I have been 'nesting' for 2 weeks according to DH. This morning I hired a rug doctor machine and washed the two sofas! After I finished I washed the dog (not with the machine I rented!) and groomed him. My rational was that the dog is creating half of the dirt in the house.

Fraochsmum · 21/06/2011 20:51

Yep, nesting purple. Quite true Want2b - both my labs are just about finished molting and the bitch is jsut about starting her season - oh the joys!
Sorry you didn't get your sweep dyer, you never know, things could be quite different in a week?
Any word from confuddled lately? Not noticed her on FB either. Prob just manic with the family.
Oh Eglu that sounds like some weekend for you :(
I ordered a king size waterproof sheet today from Amazon for £5 (and the same postage), got a better write-up than the Silentnight ones so fingers crossed! I had the worst night of reflux ever last night, spent hours feeling like I was going to spew acid :( DH said he had bad indigestion too so was prob down to the shop-bought apple crumble we ate. Funny tho, it was one of my 'cravings' during pg1 and I sickened the other half by making one every weekend Grin
Got told I only look about 5 months gone today Hmm
Right, off to bed to watch Luther. Night all!

minicorrect · 21/06/2011 20:59

Soooo I've finally finished work and tbh it's probably been more stressful than being there. Having our kitchen done and the guy is coming to fit it next week. Only, DP has decided we should borrow some money and get a better one so have been rushing around trying to get quotes and designs and work it all out, also knowing it's all dependent on them being able to deliver within a week - which is highly unlikely. That coupled with DD not sleeping at all - up from 3am-5am last night and I've got insomnia anyway so managing about 3 hours sleep a night - and lots of rows with DP about the smallest things (mostly due to tiredness and stress of kitchen stuff) means that the last week at work trying to do a handover to a woman who allegedly has more experience than me but can't actually seem to use a computer and hobbling around on crutches trying to bring all my things home was a walk in the park!!
Had MW today though and she was happy for me to have HB and has put a note in for the consultant to make him aware of the plan. Got my home visit on 7/7 to discuss it all. Very exciting! Measured 2cm behind but that's ok as I've got a tiny bump anyway (sorry!), so no worries there. Only concern was they had to redo my bloods as my platelets are clumpy!! She'd never heard of this before so I googled it when I got home and it seems it's to do with stress - so feel it's unlikely today's sample will be any better!! Just hoping it's nothing serious.
Reflux and indigestion have eased off a bit today - no gaviscon at all - and even the SPD isn't as bad as it has been so feeling a bit happier tonight, despite all the other stress going on! Really want this kitchen sorted so I can start nesting - only managed a couple of hours on the bathroom so far and it's only half done so got a long way to go before I can relax!
Finding that bland food is the only way I can go at the moment so get how you feel right now wanttob but hate salt anyway, so not missing that - although have just indulged in half a tub of ice cream - will have to check the salt content now!
Sorry you didn't get your sweep, dyerlou, fingers crossed for next week - lots of walking might help?
Right - another essay and DD has just started crying so best go and try and resettle her again
Hello to everyone else!!

JimmyChoo17 · 21/06/2011 21:00

Oooo u ladies have been busy!

crazyafterthought that's brilliant news!!! Thanks for the update and I wish you all the luck in the world xxxxx

Welcome purple!

Well....I was told last week baby was breach, mw booked me for scan....turn up at scan after weekend of worrying I will have to have c section....hospital lost notes (again) keep us waiting best part of 2 hours. Hubby got annoyed so they finally brought me in. Saw moody cow dr who was briefed to turn me...erm hang on love let's check baby position....only to find baby is head own anyway. I should have been ecstatic but the rude staff totally threw me and she wouldn't tell me weight or anything else (I wanted placenta position confirmed as my notes were conflicting) so came out all stunned at how crappy the hospital were with me. When I went in before they were amazing but that was the pre-delivery ward so goodness knows what I'll be faced with on the day....

So since then jimmychoo has been one mega snappy, fed up, hormonal mess who is fat with bingo wings and a neat bump that has doubled since last week so is a neat huge bump with another 3 weeks growth in there..... So am secretly pleased to read that u r all miserable buggers too :)

Just chucked a few baby items in the wash tho....they'll cheer me up when see them hanging out to dry!

Has anyone had leaking waters? -tmi alert---- Have had a leak of sorts but dont know if is that or wee? Didn't feel myself losing control u see? Blush didn't go thru leggings luckily but not sure if waters or not? Not had any evidence of plug etc??

Anyone on raspberry leaf tea too?

JimmyChoo17 · 21/06/2011 21:02

Oh and first nhs antenatal class tomorrow.

confuddledDOTcom · 21/06/2011 21:17

Sorry I haven't caught up it's killing my allowance!

We're still in hospital, she's 3 weeks tomorrow and I'll have been here 3 weeks on Friday! She's not been maintaining her weight since she's been on the breast and her jaundice levels keep shooting up every time she comes off the bed. Yesterday she had gained weight and her jaundice is quite low so if her weight continues to go up on her next two weigh-ins tomorrow and Friday, we're free!

Any more babies? We've got to be imminent now! I feel strange being the only one so someone come and keep me company lol

buttonmoon78 · 21/06/2011 21:18

Good news though about being head down jimmy you miserable bugger you!

Re waters, I'd pop a pad in place and check regularly. If it's your waters there may well be a continuous dampness Grin!

All fun and games here - dd1 got a stomach bug, just as ds and I were leaving to take (and watch) dd2's dance festival. So took dd2, dumped her and came home to dd1. Thankfully dd's friend's mum is dropping her off later. DH is, of course, away.

So I finished scrubbing sick out of the bathroom carpet (I hate bathroom carpets) went downstairs to find ds has done the worst thing imaginable. He's taken his playdough from the kitchen up to the lounge and now there's two red patches on my very un-red carpet. Help! Am off to the housekeeping topic to see if anyone's got bright ideas...

OP posts:
buttonmoon78 · 21/06/2011 21:20

I'd love to keep you company confuddled! I thought yesterday that the BH were getting a bit close and strong but they disappeared again. Not before I'd had a chance to realise that everyone I could call was a min of several 100 miles away - DH working, mum iin France, Mil at home (miles away), sister in USA... panic.

Though, as MW said today, with baby being all over the place, it'd have been the least of my worries!

OP posts:
JimmyChoo17 · 21/06/2011 21:31

button just read your other post on my ecv thread....about putting babies into their own room early.....wondering how early? I imagine baby will quickly outgrow Moses basket and cot in our room is not ideal due space so am wondering how soon they can go in their own room? The nursery is right next door in the adjoining room we have a good video monitor too.

Regarding being miserable....hubby and workmates (male) remarked today how fab I have been to be around even tho pregnant.....I advised that I was feeling somewhat snappy today for once only to be told off for hinting that I might START being hormonal....talk about red rag to a bull!!!!! Lol!

My gay work mate who I haven't seen in ages took one look at my butt today and said neat bump but yep u have put the weight on your arse.....there are always some people u can rely on for the truth....unfortunately...funnily enough didn't upset me from him....:)
