Yukana Nightingales do countrywide removals and storage. They are based in W-s-M www.nightingaleremovals.com/ or Britannia of Somerset are another company, based in Bridgwater www.lanesselfstore.com/
Hope you manage to find somewhere and settle. Your family might well be negative, but the health, happiness and well being of your new family is the most important thing :)

Yukana · 21/05/2011 10:52

Thank you WinterLover and Leilandri. :) At this point we just want to find a place of our own where we can have a home for our new family in peace.
My grandfather before he retired used to take trips to Edinburgh for work, so I think although he'll be furious, things will calm down eventually. They are all okay with planes so if they would ever like to visit it's really just a matter of taking a flight and getting up there in an hour.

daisysair · 21/05/2011 11:35

yakuna removals are generally quite expensive, if you can drive a van yourself it would work out cheaper-you may be able to do a one way hire/pay a man and van and do the packing and loading yourselves (not you-no heavy lifting!!)

MrsVidic · 21/05/2011 12:14

yukana Scotland sounds beautiful.

MrsS glad to hear the peas are doing well!

Well I can not believe time is going so fast! I am really tired now and wish I could hire a baby planner to do everything for me!

Has anyone got sore hands? I seem to have developed a bruise on my right wrist and struggle to use a screwdriver? Any ideas?

Firawla · 21/05/2011 12:58

yukana good luck with the move, scotland sounds really nice. my sis used to live in edinburgh and when we visited there it was lovely.

i have been feeling really frustrated with our moving situation, every time ive found anywhere suitable they come back and say no kids! extremely annoying, but i am going to view another one today so hopefully maybe that one will work out, although it is very expensive though, so will see Confused

alibaba76 · 21/05/2011 15:27

Scotland is nice! I live in Edinburgh and will never move out, I feel so lucky to have been born in such a nice city, not to big, but everything you need with loads of lovely walks etc.

bettyboo83 · 21/05/2011 19:57

Hi everyone, I've just got back from a couple of nights away with DP and I'm absoloutely shattered! Had a lovely time but we fell out on the way home so had a very stormy trip around Ikea and then spent the rest of the journey in silence! We're nearly talking now but being the grown-ups we are, neither of us wants to be the first to apologise!
Glad you're all doing well. I have plenty of silvery strtch marks on my tummy and thighs, thanks to years of yo-yo dieting but no new ones so far. I'm moisturising like a maniac though! To be honest my pre-pregnancy figure was hardly fit for a bikini so I guess I don't need to worry too much.
Yukana & Firawla, I hope you both manage to find new homes soon. I can't believe places won't let you have kids! When I was renting the only condition was no pets!
If people just want plain cream or white bedding for the cot/moses basket, Matalan is really reasonable. They also have loads of baby clothes and lots of nice neutral things for those of us who are still on team yellow.
Mrs Stevo and Wishwales - glad you are both doing well. It must be lovely to be back home Wishwales, I hope you are being well looked after. Ali - I go for a wax every 4 weeks and it stops me having to butcher myself! Far easier to leave it to the professionals!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone!

:( Wisdom tooth is coming through again :( I have a cold coming thanks to DP and I feel like crap and feel sorry for myself today...

Any recommendations for easing the wisdom tooth pain?

KLou111 · 22/05/2011 08:54

Yukana glad you are finally coming to a conclusion about what you want to do re area of where to live. Yes it will be a trek for your family and vice versa, but you have got to think where you will be happiest.
We moved from Warwickshire to South West Wales (Carmarthenshire) 2 years ago. It's just over 3 hours away, and yes it will be difficult at first as we're on our 'own' as it were, but you'll soon make new friends, and family can visit. It's so much quieter and less traffic and GREEN!!! We never say never, and once bubba is here, we have said we may move a bit nearer 'home' but if you don't go and try you never know :)

Hope you find somewhere soon Firawla :)

Bettyboo Welcome back and glad you had a good time, minus the ending! Grin And I'm the same with the stretch marks and the pre-pregnancy body not really being suitable for a bikini. Though, perhaps after the birth with a little work, eh?

WinterLover I'm afraid I have no experience with wisdom tooth pain, but lots of hugs and hope the pain goes away soon. :(

Firawla I'm literally :o at the amount of times on here I've heard people mention places are saying no children! I think it's particularly stupid, especially since a) they used to be children themselves and b) that's usually how you fill up places that have three bedrooms+! Good luck and I really hope you find somewhere soon.

Well, haven't started searching for places in Scotland yet - but can I ask if anyone knows areas that you/or in general, we should definitely avoid? And also, for anyone who has been to or lives in Scotland, how is the public transport? :)

My mother has started talking to herself recently. She's still taking her bipolar medication I believe but it's just not working. She refuses to believe there is something wrong and although she is seeing a doctor for help, (due to my grandparents and I talking about it and trying to help her), we think she may be putting on an act for them, as they say she seems 'fine'.

She's been random and odd lately, asking me if DP has ever threatened or hit me (he hasn't and would never do anything of the sort), said that she was demonic and psychotic as a child - I replied that I didn't think so which in response was told 'looks can be decieving'. This morning she asked if I minded her talking to herself, but then she said she was talking to 'John'. (When I was younger and living with my grandparents, we visited her in a mental hostel where she was staring into space saying John Lennon wasn't dead). I know there isn't anything we can do, but still.

Yukana · 22/05/2011 10:44

The reply to Firawla should have a Shock instead of a Grin. Bah!

MrsVidic · 22/05/2011 11:32

winter I had 2 wisdom teeth out at 28 weeks last time, you only get pareceatamol - sorry! If they're hurting you may have an infection (very common) and should see about anti biotics.

WinterLover · 22/05/2011 12:18

They wont remove mine as there is plenty of room for them to come through. I get them breaking through a bit more ever 4-5 months.... last time it was Nov (just before I found out i was pg) so been expecting it... ice lollies and paracetamol it is then. I do have codine from doctors but i've read you shouldnt take it after week 28 so im confused :(

Leilandri · 22/05/2011 16:33

Winter Oil of cloves might help, available in most health food shops, check that is ok to use when PG tho. Oh and a warning - it tastes gross, but it works!

WinterLover · 22/05/2011 16:50

Thanks Leilandri Il have a look tomoro, got to go to town after doctors to pick a perscription up... Il have a word with them.

KTisPG · 22/05/2011 19:04

Hi all

Have any of you got really extreme back ache-type pain? Mine's much worse today than normal and all down the side and bottom of my bump - very painful and making me feel generally uncomfortable as well. I can't think that I've done very much more than usual so I'm stuggling to put my finger on what it is Confused

Yukana · 22/05/2011 19:32

I get it most of the time KTisPG. Really hurts and makes walking a nightmare, so I usually have to rest a lot to keep it at bay.

Possible TMI - Baby has taken a liking to shoving her foot in my cervix the past few days. It hurts, a lot. Gah.

davidtennantsmistress · 22/05/2011 19:50

hi all quick stop for me, not much going on here atm. boobs are bloody sore thou,

winter - big big sympathies, I had to have 2 teeth out at 17 weeks after zero sleep one infection & an abcess. bad bad times all around. clove oil I believe is ok, but the one which worked (for all of 5 seconds in my case but tbh it would never have helped overly) was one in a little yellow tube an antiseptic one but forget the name - I got it over the counter though. the pharmacist checked & double checked, & wouldn't give me neuofen even after the doctor agreed to it as it wasn't a prescription so it must have been ok from that POV. If it gets too bad though then talk to your doctor and or the dentist. I know my dr said as I was in the second tri she could give me codoimine for the pain as I was taking 2 paracetamol & 2 neurofen alternative 2 hours but in the 3rd tri they don't like you to take anything do they?

how is everyone anyhow? trying to get my bump to move/see it form the outside, are you girls seeing it yet?

MrsBB1982 · 22/05/2011 20:01

Wow - not one of my more glamorous moments today. Feeling sick all day and I finally lost the battle with my stomach contents. Sat on the bathroom floor and my top was wet so thought there was some 'splashback' from being sick. So had a little cry then realised the other side of my top got wet.

I'm leaking milk, sat in front of a toilet of sick crying my eyes out. And a friend yesterday told me they thought I was sailing through this pregnancy!

DH lovely and gave me a big hug, which made me cry more!

davidtennantsmistress · 22/05/2011 20:21

awww mrsb, come on girl, sit down, have a slab of my chocolate.

the hormones are raging all over atm.

MorningsMadness · 22/05/2011 20:33

Ash MrsB, hormones a go go - cry it out then watch rubbish tv and forget it.

MrsBB1982 · 22/05/2011 22:08

Thanks! Bump haa cheered me up this evening. Lounging on sofa watching him do gymnastics. davidtenantsmistress been watching the bump jiggle for a couple of weeks but still not used to it. Bit like something out of the Alien movies! Nice to know he's ok in there though

davidtennantsmistress · 22/05/2011 22:13

Envy ok, how exactly do you do it - just lay back & watch, eat anything special? atm i'm just getting hefty kicks (but that's prob as i've made him hyper from eating half a packet of sugared fruit pastilles lol)

littlemisslozza · 23/05/2011 07:38

I love this bit of pregnancy when I can watch my bump moving of an evening - better than the rubbish on tv.....! So special and probably my favourite stage of pregnancy.

WinterLover · 23/05/2011 08:27

davidtennantsmistress Im not sure what you can take in 3rd tri Im at the doctors today to review my sick note and perscription for codine and paracetamol so Il find out what Im allowed to take. Hoping to get something other than gaviscon for my heartburn.

Re movement - I dont know why but as soon as DP comes to bed/comes anywhere near me baby kicks like crazy... and at 2am Mummy is not amused!!

I have a front room full of baby stuff yet it still doesnt feel real Hmm
