Firawla make sure ANY deposit the new landlady takes puts it into the government scheme, of which you will get a receipt for it. We're landlords, and personally have walked away from deposits (we multi let to professionals and we have a small £95 non refundable admin fee instead), we found the government scheme too personal TBH, but make sure it is registered if you do give it over as this way you'll get it back.

Re stretch marks, fingers crossed don't get any however I used to do a lot of athletics and for some reason that gave me stretch marks around my love handle area and the inside of my thighs, so no doubt I'll get some! I am moisturising and oiling myself up though!!

Rehune lol at your comment to your 'bigger' friends, bet that shut them up!!

Yukana good luck with house hunting.

Got my pram today from mum and dads, LOVE IT!!! must say the car seat is a bit heavier than the rest that we saw, but we knew that, but needed the lie flat option. It's so easy to set up and change the car seat to pushchair seat, and fold up etc. Took about half hour to work it all out, but easy once you know how lol. Just need to 'teach' DH now! Can't wait to have bubba in it now!!! Grin

Hope all is well wishwales x

KLou111 what pram did you go for? I got mine today, im happy with it Grin

Re Stretch marks, I really thought id get some by now, I get them really easy on my boobs and thighs, always have got them easy... but touch wood so far not got any on belly and dont think ive got any extra ones on my boobs yet..

Firawla · 19/05/2011 19:11

oh klou dont worry i will!! the landlord before this one we had to go through that dispute resolution thing with the deposit protection scheme, as she was a real money grabber and basically wanted to keep the lot, by making up problems and giving ridiculously high quotes for work she felt needed to be done etc, but deposit scheme got pretty much all of it back for us Grin

KLou111 · 19/05/2011 20:05

Winter we've got the Jane Slalom reverse with Matrix Light in molten red :)

OP posts:
davidtennantsmistress · 19/05/2011 20:25

klou - we looked at that one but didn't like the breaking system, so we went for the jane unlimit - but i've just seen it on the site we're buying from (paying monthly atm) for £200 less, so not sure if to kick up a fuss - althou I think that extra might be as we've also ordered the big carseat that lays flat as well)

ref the stretch marks - I thought i'd aquired some at the top of the bump this time around :( - turns out my skirt elastic was a little tight :o lol. so far a few of my silvery ones are stretching but am bio oiling twice a day so hopefully will have no nasty red ones - with DS I managed to delude myself until I was about 30 odd weeks (didn't show until 24 weeks with him) was laying in the bath & XH walked in - I commented about how fab it was I had none at all, & he said well what are those red marks under your bump then Angry git. spoilt my bubble lol.

hope everyone is well. the bedding sheets came today - it's so sad i'm THIS excited about matching sheets to the rest of the bedding - poor DS didn't have matching - well he had the cover bumper, lampshade 7 change mat but other than that we couldn't afford it all. (and that was brought with vouchers given by my work friends) sooo excited lol.

KLou111 · 19/05/2011 22:33

Saw that one DTM but really need the hand brake as well as the foot as we go walking through our local forest a lot and it's quite bumpy and hilly, and the hand brake is peace of mind if we're caught off guard :) and I wanted a 3 wheeler lol!!

Hi all

Had midwife appt today, and all seems well. Good strong heartbeat, and heard baby kicking too. Normal blood pressure, and at 27+5 my bump measured 27cm, so all seems well. Then midwife (not my usual one) had to mention the breastfeeding debate.
It wasn't enough to notice from notes that DS had been FF from the outset, or to simply ask if I entended to BF this baby (NO!) she had to start harping on about the benefits and the bonding etc etc etc. I attended the appointment having only had 1 hr sleep, so not my finest or most rational hour when I said to her that I was "unwilling to be dictated to about the best way to feed MY baby by someone who was too young to be off the breast herself" !! Blush

She really managed to push my buttons, I doubt I'll be seeing her again! Grin
Oh well, 11 weeks on Monday til I meet my new arrival, and then I get to have the same argument all over again with the health visitors!

Hope everyone is well? x

KLou111 · 19/05/2011 23:03

Noooo Leil did you really??? LMAO!!!

OP posts:
Firawla · 19/05/2011 23:07

I bet that is why she brought it up, after noticing about your ds on the notes. Seems a bit early for her to have that discussion though anyway? Just ignore her, lol @ what you said. how did she react?!

MrsStevo · 19/05/2011 23:12

Bloody hell ladies!!! 2 days away and it has literally taken 40 minutes to catch up!!! Although now I've read it, I've forgotten most of what has been talked about already so won't be able to contribute!

Re: exercise - I'm doing none! I was zumbaing and davina dvd workout-ing 2-3 times a week pre-preg but have been told that only moderate walking is safe for me now (gutted about that, obviously... now where did I put the Biscuit ??)

Re: stretch marks, I was told at the nct class last week that if members of your family have had stretch marks, or if you have had them in the past during periods of growth, then you are stuffed and will undoubtedly get them! I am riddled with stretch marks from a lot of eating disorder rapid weight changing over the years but fingers crossed I haven't got any new ones yet that I've noticed. I will have a honking great scar on my tummy from the surgery I've already had though, but I bear that with pride given that it saved my babies' lives :)

As for me (thanks for those that have asked how we're doing btw!), we had our last appointment at Birmingham yesterday and have been discharged back to Lincoln. Babies still have different fluid levels - one is getting quite low, but both still in normal ranges - but there isn't really anything they can do about it. I just have to keep trying to communicate to the babies that they need to get weeing!! Back to weekly scans to monitor how they're doing until they are well-cooked enough to come out. Still feel a hundred miles from the end though - only 26 + 2 and all of you seem WAAAAY ahead. Would do anything to be 30 weeks and for everything to still be ok.

However, I finish work next Friday (27th) and can't WAIT! I am so ready for it ....

Thinking of wishwales and really hoping she's ok x x

Yukana · 20/05/2011 06:29

MrsStevo I'm glad to hear you and the little ones are doing okay. Try not to worry, they've been fighting tremendously well and I hope they'll keep cooking for a long as possible. :)

Was prescribed the Canesten 1% cream for thrush, seems to be working although this morning the itching has been so irritating I can't sleep. Angry I'll need to buy a mirror soon I expect as putting the cream on can be a bit tricky, seeing as I can't even see down there and haven't been able to for a while!

Got a phone call from the surgery explaining that my iron was low again so they are definitely sending me to hospital for an iron infusion/transfusion and prescribing me iron tablets. I'm somewhat relieved it wasn't anything more serious, but still dreading having yet another needle stuck in my skin!

RE: Stretch marks - I believe my grandmother had stretch marks but I don't know about my mother. I've had a few at the front of my stomach around the belly button and sides, but not much.

Ladies I do have (yet another!) question: When I am doing chores/general things around the house/out and about, generally after about 5-10 minutes I get the most awful backache and it's tough to waddle around! Is there anything you can do/have used in the past to help? Or is it generally a 'suck it up, at least your little one will be here in a couple of months!' :)

wishwales · 20/05/2011 08:06

Hello ladies. I am so excited to say that we are now 29 weeks and baby Morgan has not made her appearance yet! After 4 whole weeks in hospital, I was sent home on Tuesday as things were calming down and looking more stable. I am still on strict bed rest because still at risk for early labour.

It has been so wonderful to finally see my new home and be in my own bed. The plan is scan and consultant visit every Tuesday to constantly reassess.

Tuesday's scan showed Morgan's head circumference has fallen into 3rd percentile and did not grow for 2 weeks. It also showed a bigger than average belly. Doctor said they will re-do measurements this coming Tuesday and if unchanged, something might need to be done?!?!?! Huh? Trying not to stress too much about this and have avoided Dr. Google but it does freak me out.

Even though I haven't been able to relate to most of what you ladies are on about, you have kept me entertained, supported and informed whilst bored out of my head in hospital. Wishing everyone the absolute BEST!

KLou111 · 20/05/2011 08:43

oh wishwales so glad your little one is staying where she should be and that you got to go and see your new home!!

Glad everything OK with the pods MrsS

I was going to ask you all actually, I am trying to get my head around all this 'percentile' stuff and am getting totally confused!!! What should we be at the mo (another 'would ask my mum' question lol!!!) Been looking at google but it's confused me even more!

Baby been moving around so much in the last 12 hours or so, and as nice as it is, I just wanted some sleep! I so can't wait to go home Monday now as it doesn't really help when you're not in your own bed. Hopefully it'll come around quick :)

Have a great day all, off for coffee with a friend this morning and going to friends for a meal tonight. My broken brother is going home tomorrow so have got to clean mum and dads house, wash all the bedding etc, so a busy day ahead esp as the tumble dryer starting smelling of smoke last night!!

OP posts:
daisysair · 20/05/2011 09:15

ooh mrs S and wishwales glad to hear that your collective three are doing ok!

KLou the centile thing is just telling you if your baby is an average sized baby, big or small. I measured a week ahead at 24 weeks. Not because I was 25 weeks (the 12 week dating scan is pretty accurate apparently), but because I have a big(ish) baby (I was just under 9lb and hubby was 9.5lb) and ours will likely follow suit. It's all just statistics ;)

Re stretchmarks I have tonnes up my thighs from speedy growth spurts as a teen, but none so far (my dad and sis both have them too, but mum doesn't). Mind you a neighbour said she had none until her last week... They fade!

MorningsMadness · 20/05/2011 10:05

Oh, you're all so organised and I still haven't even picked paint / wallpaper for the girls nursery and I've lost my lists!!!
So, where are your favourites for nursery bedding/curtains/etc and does anyone remember a large chest of drawers being posted which a changing top could sit on???
Memory like a goldfish and I do go back through the thread but there i so much to read ...
Hope you're all doing well, off to buy more Gaviscon Grin

MorningsMadness · 20/05/2011 10:08

Oh and brilliant news for wishwales and MrsS - you're coping so well so keep positive, little fighter babies there!

WinterLover · 20/05/2011 10:18

Morning Ladies :)

MorningsMaddness Dont worry i've not only not picked out the colours, we've still got to re-paper the room too..

Need to speak to GP on Monday when I pick my sick note up about my heartburn... Gaviscon is doing nothing for me now, and its pretty much constant :( so bad sometimes it sends pains into my back and left arm :( Hopefully they will be able to give me something else.

konatsu · 20/05/2011 11:11

Hello girls!
How are you today? It is almost weekend!!! Grin

Thanks for the info/tips on the Precious Little One website? I am still thinking about it...
KLou111 I?m happy that everything went well for your pram! Did you order the mattress as well?

Stretch marks, few appeared around my breast? even though I?m using the oil and cream?Nothing on the belly ?.yet.

davidtennantsmistress, I?m excited for small things as well?. Last night for instance I was preparing a CD with lullabies for the baby and my hormones started to play funny games?Blush
BTW where did you order the bedding sheets? I need to get started on that?

Leilandri , very good for the visit!!! And nevermind the silly MW, I do not know why but there are always too many!

MrsStevo, I always keep my fingers crossed for you and the babies!

Yukana, same here, low iron and 200 tablets to take!!! For backpain, a good long relaxing hot bath I think works better that any drugs!

wishwales that?s a wonderful news! For the belly, do not get too stressed though. I?ve heard that if it?s too big it?s a matter of cutting carbs for a while?

WinterLover, I hope you'll sort your heartburn problem soon. I usually have it at night and it helped me having a light dinner well before going to sleep.

I wish a fab weekend to all of you!

alibaba76 · 20/05/2011 12:35

Yukana re the housework, I am the same. Just take lots of rests, which means it takes a lot longer.

Also on the topic of not being able to see down there re thrush cream - I can't really see down there either any more and don't know how I'm going to keep things "neat and tidy", what are the rest of you doing about this, or are you not worried??

davidtennantsmistress · 20/05/2011 12:40

knon babycare.com - only as I wanted matching (yes i'm that sad! lol) I don't think i'd use them again though, the outter packaging is very battered & bruised, at least they're new though so it's me being a little Hmm given the money I spent. but anyhow, did order some plain blue ones as well from amazon which I think were only about £4 each (crib size) so happy with those.

WW - glad you came home, fingers crossed bubs grows a little more & stays put a bit longer.

mrss - glad your 2 are also behaving in there. :)

klou - the centiles don't worry too much about it - it basically means that (on the 50th for example) that out of 100 babies 50 will be at that rate etc.

DS was always on the 75th centile the thing they look at thou is if the trend/ach stays on the same line - not nec the centil (25th 33rd etc). it's a good indicator however as DS's school nurse put him down below the 25th centil (clearly he's not) with the proof from my books for the last 5 years I got the HV to check him again for me and confirm the school nurse was in fact talking out of her backside (she'd got him down as not growing in 3 years - hmmmm not likely the amount he eats/clotehs he goes through lol)

ref the house work - I do the minimum, hoover, wash up washing ironing. DS helps me. (help's we're out teh hosue most of the day thou) thing i'm struggling with is walking the doggles. - that's always been DP's job to do.

ali - did you see the thread in pg a few weeks back on this - it was hysterical. I plan on a once over before DP is home and other than that I think I might risk him doing it - with DS I sort of hacked away (not nice) but didn't trust/want XH to do it. I use one of those shavers with the moisturising soap bar things so not a 'naked' razor as it were, other than that no idea. could veet?

winter - is it true that's a sign of a baby with hair? not sure?

hope we're all well, not a lot happening today DS wet his bed so will be in mine tonight while his 'airs' then off to town tomorrow as promised him a new bedding set (previously to this)

WinterLover · 20/05/2011 16:29

If it is a sign of hair, im carrying one hairy baby Grin

Awwww just got back from an afternoon out and DP has been playing, he's kinda put the pushchair together to make sure all the bits are there and for me to have a play with :) best not move it tho as he's not fixed the wheels on lol

Firawla · 20/05/2011 18:18

good to hear updates from you wishwales and stevo glad your babies are doing well
klou i wouldnt worry too much about the percentile unless the midwifes/hospital indicates to u that theres likely to be any problem with the babies size.
ali you can still shave down there if u cant see, you just get used to it and able to get the job done still, i think with my first i was thinking like hmm how is this gna work? but now i dont really find it a problem i still just do it in the shower, cant see down past bump at all but still works out okay

update from us, we didnt get that flat :( soo still not settled, quite disappointed but have phoned the agents about one we saw previously and just trying to see if we can have that one maybe. just wana get somewhere asap now, dont feel organised at all

sisterT · 20/05/2011 20:52

Hi all
good to hear everyone's updates.

KLou centiles are only an indicator - following whatever line is much better guide. DS has resolutely stuck on the 9th centile since birth (having progressed from the minus 2nd!) and he is as strong as a horse!!!
Ali - I spent £9 on a battery Boots bikini shaver last time I was PG and its still going strong - you can point it in the general direction and not worry about hurting your fanjo if you cant see what you are doing (sorry if TMI) Blush

dont forget you can get industrial sized bottles of Gaviscon on your free prescription and use the equivalent saving for cakes Grin

Yukana · 20/05/2011 20:58

alibaba Will bear the housework thing in mind. I find washing up a nightmare due to my backache and feeling uncomfortable (and therefore becoming irritable) whilst doing it. I enjoy washing the kitchen floor, ironing and hoovering though.

In terms of what to do when you can't see down there, I've struggled I must admit. I don't have a handheld mirror to make things easier, so I just sort of hack away at it every now and then. Blush

Firawla Big hugs. I hope you manage to find a place soon, I know the feeling and being settled does put you more at ease.

Talked to DP about moving again today. I have family here but I've decided to move out of the county, I don't feel I'll gain true independence for me and our family if we don't, and I know my family will do everything to make me feel shit if I move away from them. My grandparents are the types who are lovely but if you do something they are against they will spit in your face with anger.

I think me and him are settled on moving to Scotland to be honest, it is far and we'll need to save up to move our things via van, but we feel we'll be more at peace there (DP is Scottish and I am partly so), but it sounds like something we want to try. Does anyone know any national companies/firms that will move your belongings when you move? I imagine it's going to be very costly, seeing as we'll be moving from Somerset (South West England) to Scotland.

WinterLover · 21/05/2011 07:39

Yukana My parents moved to scotland, and although it was hours away from us (probably no where near as far as you will be from family) it wasnt too bad. My mums parents hated it, but as mum told them, she's been around for them for 50 years and now it was time to do things for herself!!

They have moved back to the area now, and are more settled but I do think thats mainly to do with the original move to scotland..

What im trying to say is that although family will probably hate you for it, Scotland isnt that far away (day in the car max) and you sometimes have to do things for yourself and your new family

I hope that makes sense
