Will this be the final thread?!? I somehow think not, with more and more people starting on maternity leave, we have time for a good few more methinks!

OP posts:

That's so exciting Nurse - fingers crossed - we will all be waiting with baited breath on Friday.

Kara that' fab about the home birth.

jasmine51 · 18/05/2011 15:46

Did I hear my name? Someone was asking about the breech club? Yes I'm a member...although the MW couldnt work it out and said she thought LO might have 3 heads. Got a scan tmz to confirm that he hasnt, then will have a weekend of standing on my head and burning stuff on my toes before a turning apt next Tuesday.

Barbie I feel your pain. My DH has gone through some kind of transformation since being dragged to the NCT class but if this is your 3rd I'm guessing that isnt really an option to get him to focus?

Lisa Jasmine has 2 syllables and has a kind of S sound in itSmile. I came across a Heather yesterday too which was unusual

Right, off for a nap before my BF class this evening...DH isnt going, he says he gets frightened my mine let alone anyone elses...strange reaction, I would have thought the guys would be straight there when offered the chance to stare at breasts with consent...but then again, perhaps thats why its not so much fun!

Hi all,

Week has got worse since fall on Sunday back is agony not been able to drive and feel so sorry for myself!! Also midwife called today I have been complaining about how much discharge I've been having for the last 12 weeks but all they say is it's normal in pregnancy I have already been pregnant and it was nothing like this! Also asked for group strep b swab as concerned with all the awareness about it just now! doctor came into see me who said no need I more and likely won't have it so forget about it! After speaking to Df and raising my concerns I decided still wanted it so on Friday requested it again midwife said would bring in consultant to speak to me as don't test routinely, Consultant came in and says since I'm anxious will swab me! Phonecall today I have thrush and group strep b went to docs to get 2 course of antibiotics for 7 days and canasten pessary! Will be put on intervene antibiotics for 4 hours during labour for group b have been crying all day, so glad I pushed for test! Really struggling with the end of pregnancy!

Thanks for replies about fall did feel a lot better getting checked!

Wow. Had an amazing birth!!

Summer Elizabeth arrived this morning weighing 6lbs 1oz.
Induction started at 1.30am, used tens all the way & gas & air for last 10 contractions for pushing her out! Hubby only just made the birth, catching last 3 pushes!!

Totally amazed by the whole thing :)

Gillzz · 18/05/2011 16:28

Aww congratulations mcake lovely name! You did so well tens and gas and air well done!!!

Sarahmumtobe · 18/05/2011 16:33

Congratulations moufflon and such a pretty name. Have been following but haven't posted for a while again as have had some family problems.

I think I remember cameli posting also about the birth of her DD so big congratulations to you too!

I'm 36+1 and have joined the breech club-think he moved about 5days ago-naughty baby already. He had been head down at every check up until now. Going to get bouncing on the birth ball!

Moog72 · 18/05/2011 16:34

Ah, congratulations Moufflon - have been looking forward to reading your news. What a beautiful name :)

crazychic141187 · 18/05/2011 16:37

Aww congratulations moufflon what a lovely name! And it sounds like a fab birth - or are you just trying not to scare us all?! Hmm

barbie sounds like you are having a really difficult time with your dh - was he like this before? If not it sounds like he is avoiding for some reason, maybe he is nervous or anxious and doing that classic stick your head in the sand bloke approach! I am on my first and dh is mostly fascinated so I don't have much advice I'm afraid - I did want to hurt him when he said it was good I was in pain from LO's movements as it means she is healthy and strong!

I have 5 weeks to go now and 8 more working days, those working days need to go fast as I am really struggling now - feel knackered!!! And working in a school with behaviour can at times be a wee bit stressful. However the end is in sight Grin and if the day is tough I just think little baby thoughts and smile!

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 18/05/2011 16:51

DH finally home so he's found himself with DS while I'm back in bed Grin.

Went to mothercare and cancelled our babyplan. Nearly burst into tears doing so, so spent some of my refund on cheesecake to console myself. At least a quick nosey in Boots cheered me up a little as I bought maternity pads for nearly a third of the price of mothercare ones (plus gained points for baby clothes another time). It does just make me want to yell at DH to get off his f'ing arse and go do some f'ing work, cause he has a family to look after and a ruddy great immigration expense coming up (either that or a plane ticket to buy for me and the kids) and we don't have a car so I need a good pushchair more than most people!!! However I know it's not really his fault and ranting at him will actually make things worse.

Hmm apparently that cheesecake wasn't enough. Barbie it turns out I'm feeling your pain on the useless husband front more than I thought Grin At least mine has a good excuse, yours I actually would yell at.

Good work pushing for the test Gillzz. Why can medical professionals never believe that sometimes we know our bodies better than them and aren't all a pack of hypochondriacts?

Good luck for Friday Nurse.

Someone (poss MOSP?) mentioned us SAHMs starting our 'maternity leave' a couple of weeks back. I tried to reply at the time but my post got eaten. Hope you're enjoying you 'ML' Grin and I'm sending around some (virtual) home made freezer meals for you.

MrsNoggin · 18/05/2011 16:52

Wow Moufflon, congratulations! Well done! And what a lovely name.

Talking of names - my DD is Isobel too... Don't we all have such great taste?!

KaraStarbuckThrace · 18/05/2011 16:53

Moufflon, congrats on your dd, what a beautiful name!
Nurse, Shock and Grin at your test being on Friday, will be keeping all my fingers and toes crossed for you.
Gillz, poor you, that you are still feeling that fall. Well done for standing your ground and getting the tests done, you were right to do so, hope the infections clear up.
Jasmine keep meaning to ask you, have you finished your ABs? How are you feeling now?

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 18/05/2011 17:10

Massive x-post there! Moufflon congratulations on Summer's safe (and fast!) arrival.

Ohh I've gone all squidgey and teary Grin

CMH1stbaby · 18/05/2011 17:33

yay moufflon, well done and congratulations! had a little cry to celebrate Summer's safe arrival Blush

neenewps · 18/05/2011 17:37

moufflon fantastic news. Really pleased to hear that you had a great labour. Well done you. Hope you are enjoying your time with your DD :)

nurse eeeeeek. Will be thinking of you on Friday. Fingers crossed.

gillz Sorry to hear that you aren't well. Glad you pushed for the tests. It's such a shame that they just don't trust your own instincts on these things?!

barbie What a shame your DH is being so crap. Think the other ladies have given some good advice already.

kara wow... that was some catch up :) you put me to shame :o

HalleLouja · 18/05/2011 17:46

Well done moufflon. Congratulations on your new bundle and easy birth xx

motherofsnortpigs · 18/05/2011 17:59

Good work moufflon I note that the title of First person on the thread to produce a boy is yet to be claimed... Thanks for the frozen meals confessions I just fed DS fish fingers with a best before date of Oct 2010 - I had to burrow for them! I think this month's online Sainsbugs shop was achieved by pressing the Lucky Dip button :) barbie I can just imagine you using ttl's line of 'I'm more important than the Queen' to great effect.

motherofsnortpigs · 18/05/2011 18:03

PS I AM NORWAY A slightly bonkers analogy to vaginas and the Norwegian coastline, coined by my slightly bonkers mw.

sasamaxx · 18/05/2011 18:27

WOW congratulations Moufflon and yay for such a fantastic birth Grin altho tbh I am very Envy since I know i have a horrid back-to-back labour in store.

Gillz well done for pushing for the test - that's so surreal that you knew something was wrong and have now taken steps to get it sorted - well done!

Well DS threw up all over the sofa about an hour ago. I'm sure it's just a bug and hoping I don't get it - but i probably will.

NurseSunshine · 18/05/2011 18:55

Congratulations Moufflon and Mr Moufflon. Summer is such a gorgeous name :) Sounds like you did amazingly as well. Eeeeee we're all having babies!!

(((hugs))) Confessions, I think I must've missed what's going on with you but hope you're OK.

My friend came over with her 6 month old daugher earlier so I got a cuddle Grin I also got projectile vomited on but hey, all good practice eh Hmm

misshoohaa · 18/05/2011 19:38

Congrats Moufflon - what a great birth story! Sounds like you were a star.
Hi everyone, sorry I haven't posted in ages, don't really feel like I have anything particular interesting to add but I'm checking in regularly to see whats happening with everyone.

3 and half weeks to go for me, and feeling lots of pulling pains down low so hoping that means bubs is getting nice and ready. Felt very odd today with constant heartburn but can not face Gaviscon, it is so totally vile!

CitizenOscar · 18/05/2011 20:47

Congrats moufflon - lovely to hear :)

jimper · 18/05/2011 21:05

Congrats moufflon - how exciting!

Moog - I am having a girl - for sure (6 scans have confirmed) but had a new midwife yesterday and the heart rate was 135 and she said 'oooh, that is a boy' - and I KNOW it is a girl (I hope!) So - it is not true! (Or my 6 scans were wrong and I have to start taking back all the girl things I have bought!)

Anyone else having trouble with veins? My left leg is killing me and the MW says it is my vein - she wasn't really worried......but mentioned compression socks if it gets any worse :(

8rubberduckies · 18/05/2011 21:53

Ahhh, well bloody done moufflon xx
