Have a lovely holiday gaga I dont think there is any danger of me laying before yo are back either.

I had just assumed the pram would arrive fully formed and no swearing would be required :(

I have finally managed a massive lie in and don't feel tired for the first time in ages. But I am a bit pissed off the weather has turned so i can continue Operation Nappy Drying. Hmph. I also need to mop the floors but I think I'll leave that til tomorrow

occers glad you are feeling better, colds and hayfever and pregnancy definitely do not mix. I have had an annoying tickley cough since i had a cold in FEBRUARY, just can't shift it, but it comes and goes and I think it is pretty much just because of the reduced lung capacity. TB thinks I should go the doc but I can't see the point as I doubt even if they would give me anti biotics, I am not sure I would take them.

I love little children, its babies I am not sure about (although I am coming round a bit) I only really start to get interested in other peoples when they are about 1 or so and can start interacting. My mum however LOVES babies (they cant answer back) so we have considered packing Sprout off to her for the first 6 months :o

BarbiesBeaver · 05/05/2011 11:38

Have a lovely time GeeGee!

Can I just say Praise be to Lyra for the NHS? It may not always get it right every time but I think it's pretty brilliant. Just been to see a lovely Dr who had also suffered from hyperemesis so was really sympathetic and I can pick up some drucks later to help. I'm so relieved. I really hurt my throat retching this morning and had to wake up in the middle of the night to puke last night so I'm hoping it can keep a lid on it a bit.

Biter I like the introduction idea. That is very sweet.

Medee · 05/05/2011 11:44

thanks Cos, have Pm'd you via FB as I am not sure how to do it here!

Ocar drop me your address and I shall send the book on.

MrM gave EA a tour of the house when we got home (both times). Don't think he got it from a book but it was very sweet.

owlbooty · 05/05/2011 12:12

Wow, BB that is some proper puking you've got going on there, I hope the luffly drucks help calm it down.

I craftily contracted all my puking out to BiteyMcBiterson . Grin

rocketsocks How lovely to get a proper rest. I would happily kill people for a decent lie in. The fecking cat woke me up twice last night by sitting outside the bedroom door making woeful noises and then MiniBoots decided it would be amusing to practice kickboxing on my innards. Then Mr Boots snored. Today I am borderline psychotic.

AlpinePony · 05/05/2011 12:20

rocket There are a few of us in CRESH who are much happier with our 6/7/8/9/10 month olds than the baybees. I still don't like babies much, but I adore my 10 year old toddling monster!

Ivegotmrbitey · 05/05/2011 12:28

I am still awaiting payment for that boots pliz to send cake ASAP or I will have to send the cat round. He also makes woeful noises and pukes a lot.

Poor poorly BB hope the drucks help you. It's just rotten being so sick but it will pass. Mine stopped (no where near as bad as yours or truffs BTW, I could still eat) the same day that the 1st trimester exhaustion ended. I felt so unbelievably amazing and strong and healthy, as if I could leap sky scrapers in a single bound!

Is anyone elses baybee turning round and kicking them in the (ahem) back passage? Because that is what it felt like in the wee small hours this morning. Most odd!

rocketleaf · 05/05/2011 12:30

I think the tour of the house is a lovely idea too. I think our NCT teacher has pinched some stuff from the baby whisperer as I am pretty sure she talked about that at the weekend.

booty I have the same thing, toilet, kicking and cat interruptions, hence the much needed lie in. However, I have been to the shop, the polling station and hung some washing out (risking it) and I am knackered again. I suspect this is it for the next month, everything seems like such a MAHoosive effort. I am finding the thought of caring for a baby while being this knackered a little overwhelming but then I suppose at least I won't actually have to carry her with me ALL the time, like now. And hopefully my lung capacity will allow me to get up stairs without needing to use the Deli Paper Bag.

BB yey for luffly doctor and luffly drugs, hope they do the trick, hyperemesis (sp?) is no fun by all accounts and best to nip it in the bud now than end up on a drip. Not all GPs understand that I don't think.

rocketleaf · 05/05/2011 12:36

Cheers pone for me the baby stage will be interesting (and lovely?) in its own way I spose but I sort of see it as something to 'get thru' until the fun really starts at 6 months, interaction and weaning etc. then talking, toddling. I am probably mad as that's when it gets really hard but just seems more fun to me. Who knows tho, I might love it when it happens

owlbooty · 05/05/2011 12:52

Tis okay, Bites , our cat weighs 7kg and so will flatten your cat by sitting on him if you send him around. Grin It's not like he's hard or anything; he's just massive. Other cats keep kicking his furry arse which is what I suspect the wailing was about.

Cosmosis · 05/05/2011 13:16

those of you with new prams, you want to do what alps did and put it round living room with scan pic in Wink

Agree with the better as they get older thing. it's sooo much more fun now.

Scorpette · 05/05/2011 13:22

Have a fab hollibob, GG (and don't forget the bikini pics for my private collection, hurhur ). You'll be the most gorgeous thing on that beach, I know it. Oooh, maybe I'll have a baybee for you to coo over when you return, eek! XX

BB Teh Vom sucks the big one. So happy you got an understanding Doc and I hope the drucks start to work wonders ASAP. Also so happy you're over here in the Deli, too :)

Loz, TYF had car-seat fitting meltdown too. He also said, 'do you realise I will be driving home from the hospital at 5 miles an hour, screaming out of the window in panic at any other car that dares so much as be on the same road as us?'. He also admitted to feeling bad about always having mocked those 'baby on board' signs in car windows, although we won't be getting one.

I feel shit-scared about the birth (I don't even like using tampons so am not particularly looking forward to another human being coming out of me - I have a 'my foof being messed with' phobia), being the parent of a newborn, being the parent of a toddler, being the parent of a... you get the drift. The thing I actually dread most is when toddlers are at the grabbing-everything, into-everything phase, because other people's kids doing that has always driven me mad and I have a 'thing' about people touching my stuff due to my own childhood ishoos. So that will be fun!

And yet... I keep having moments of 'BRING IT ONNN!' now. Everything is ready and organised, I'm pig-sick of being in pain, I surely can't get any bigger, The Lad's movements clearly indicate he's run out of space and above all, I can't wait to snuffle his perfection Grin

I haz broked the fred? Sad

I hope the quietness is due to everyone voting!

Anyway, bit of good news - mw says my iron levels are back to normal (low normal, but still), so the Spatone must be doing its job, hurrah.

Ivegotmrbitey · 05/05/2011 16:27

Well done on the spatone Score! Pliz can you either lay this weekend or wait until Friday as I have to go to stupid North Wales and won't have internet access and MN on a black berry is too small to see. Thanks in advance Grin

lowl am now afraid of your cat sitting on me! Thanks for the cake though Smile

Ivegotmrbitey · 05/05/2011 16:37

PS this fred just popped up in active. May be helpful for the mega plume pukers amongst us?

Ivegotmrbitey · 05/05/2011 22:39

They're here, they're here! Booties have arrived and are soooo beautiful! Thankyou rocket we are squeeing ourselves into a pool of goo here!

rocketleaf · 06/05/2011 08:40

:o

Ocarina · 06/05/2011 12:34

Hope GG is now sunning herself, not jealous at all Envy. Mind you I can't complain, we're off for a family weekend down south, and then on holiday in a couple of weeks, just not to anywhere as warm.

Rocket I'm with you on small children being sooooo much more interesting than babies. Babies scare me. Alps I am a little concerned that you have a 10 year old toddler - has he been in the tardis or something?!

Bitey I've had the whole kicking in the back passage thing, or at least that's what it feels like. So it's reassuring to know it might actually be that rather than something else weird.

Up here I think the country is wandering round in shock at the election results - love or hate the SNP I don't think anyone really thought they'd do quite this well. Wasn't so keen on being awake at 4am because TH had decided to check the results that were coming in.

Truffkin · 06/05/2011 19:03

Wow it's been quiet in here today, am hoping it's because everyone is out enjoying the sunshine (and maybe we're getting a baybee from Scorps huh?)

I've been at home all day as had a bit of bleeding in the night and thought it best to rest up and avoid 2 hours of commuting on a hot, sticky day in the capital. There's been no more today and I've had no pain, the MW was unconcerned about it so I'm chilling (as much as poss) plus with our scan tomorrow, the timing is at least good enough that we can be reassured quickly. MW thought it might be because I've had a busy (rushing around type) week and my sickness has been particularly violent, which could have caused it. Fingers crossed my mind will be well and truly at rest in 14 1/2 hours when we get to see our bayble wriggling around!

I'm in agreement with the sentiment of toddlers being more interesting than babies in terms of the talking, walking, playing etc. Am hoping that I'll be content to just stare at my baybee for some time after he / she arrives and by the time that wears off, I will be in a fit state to stick him / her in the pram or sling and wander off to meet peeps. I'm lucky in that when we move shortly after the arrival, several of my friends will be on mat leave plus my SiL is a SAHM and my sister works flexible shifts so I should have plenty of people to keep me occupied should I need it.

I don't think we are going to bother with NCT classes BTW as I see that many people rate them for the meeting other new parents to keep in touch with and as we're moving away, that's not the top priority. Plus I think we could put the 300 squids to better use buying pregnancy massages and yoga classes for meee baby stuff.

Anyone got anything exciting planned for the weekend?

Hope GeeGee is having fun in the sun on hols, can just imagine the cuteness of miniG playing in the pool and building sand castles - squee.

Ivegotmrbitey · 06/05/2011 20:18

Aw truff you are really having a time of it aren't you? You sound very zen and calm though. Hope you are OK and that trufflette puts on a good show for you tomorrow Smile

Truffkin · 06/05/2011 22:22

Oh no I wasn't intending to be a whiner, just my little update! Am actually surprising myself with my resiliance (and hoping it bodes well for labour) at the moment. I had a little bit of an emotional moment just after TGB got home from work. He said hi and proceeded to debate what we would have for dinner / telling me about his day and as I was making myself some squash in the kitchen I could hear him muttering to himself. He was moaning that I'd moved the sofa from his favourite TV vantage point and I had a bit of a 'I've been vomiting for 7 weeks and today's been really stressful and you're moaning about the sofa being moved' crying moment and he apologised and administered hugs. Turns out my brave face had been well applied and he thought I didn't want to make a big deal of it. I'm back to be a grown up now Blush

Scorpette · 06/05/2011 23:29

Truff, you're not whining, you daft thing - this is just the stuff we are here for. Stuff like that is so scary but you sound v stoic. Don't tell yourself off for worrying. If it's any reassurance, it can be quite normal to have a small bleed at the stage you're at; summat to do with baybee bedding down more firmly and of course, as you recognise, exertion and the strain of super-vomming don't help. You need to rest up this weekend and get TGB to look after you (and take up the best vantage point on the sofa, too. Stoopid men!). Hope you get a top show tomorrow at the scan :)

I'm not laying, btw - just busy earlier and zonked and fat-handed tonight. I have had my fringe trimmed so can now relax about not looking like Joey Ramone in birth pics.

OP posts:
rocketleaf · 07/05/2011 08:05

truffs far from whining lady, you sound extremely stoic. I am sure your MW is correct and its nothing to worry about. As score said it does seem to be quite common for a bit of a bleed to happen round this time but still can't be fun for it to happen to you. As you say, its lucky you are due your scan today so you mind can be quickly put to rest. Hope the LO is full of wriggley beans and gives you and Mr Truff a lovely wave this morning.

I am certainly not laying either (and don't expect to be for some time) but I had the hump last night as spent the evening on a wee cardi for Sprout and realised after I had done loads of it that to was going to be massive so had to undo and start again. I think I might be getting BHs tho, and what I have been misinterpreting at mild indigestion for some time is actually them Blush I sort of hope so as that means things are hotting up. Got MW home visit this morning so hopefully that all goes well. Sprout is in optimum laying position at the mo although she can't make her mind up which side she wants her feet on so might switch again at any point.

AlpinePony · 07/05/2011 08:46

truff I was hoping nobody would pick up on the ten year old toddler you caaaaah. cunty and I did not do NCT and we don't feel we missed anything.

owlbooty · 07/05/2011 11:26

300 squids? Ours were 161 squids for both of us, don't think I would have bothered if it was that much in our area. You must be in that there London.

Truffs lovely you may well be right about the uber-vomming causing the bleeding; so feet up, do nothing this weekend. Except command TGB to wait upon you hand and foot for the duration. And if you feel even remotely dodgy on Monday, do not go to work. I hope the scan goes very, very well.

I felt like shite yesterday and Mr Boots get grumped at as he had failed to warn me he was coming home late so I got my tea late. Late tea = Mardy Starving Wobbly Owl. He knows this now. Grin

Rocket I've been having full-on BHs since about 18 weeks. I only realised what they were when I happened to have one whilst my hand was resting on the bump and it went all tight and completely freaked me out. I guess at least we will know when it is properly kicking off as they will be regular instead of random?

Medee · 07/05/2011 11:33

Hello, just remembered about the baby name books I have also free to a good home. They came to me from CC. I have two, so someone can have both, or happy to send one each.
