Morning all
I'm going to call the MW today - I feel so ill and uncomfortable, completely and utterly drained, sick, headachey and pooey of bottom. DH took my bp last night and thats all fine but I cant believe its normal to feel so bad at this stage. Bump is still rock hard and LO must be exhausted as he hasnt stopped jumping around for over 48 hours. Not amused by this pg lark any more. Oh and I've just had to order yet another bra in a bigger size...and the only style I've got on with doesnt come in any bigger sizes after this one so I'm praying the girls arent going to get any bigger.
Going back to bed for an hour or so.
Sorry to be a moaner
x

sasamaxx · 28/04/2011 10:13

Nurse that's fab that you two are getting on so well Smile

Jasmine and in fact - everyone - have you seen the works of art that are hotmilk bras? Go look at them - they are beautiful and soooo comfortable with no seams on the inside to irritate your nipples Grin

CitizenOscar · 28/04/2011 10:15

Congratulations clarkiee - sounds like things are going well after the surprise of suddenly having to go into birth mode! lovely names too :)

I've mostly been lurking on this thread for a while so way too much to catch up on... Seems like a mix of the trials & joys of late pregnancy for all of us. Have had some time off with bank holidays etc & now sooooooooo looking forward to starting maternity leave (15 days / 8 working days) to go!

We've got a tour of the hospital maternity unit on Saturday - any tips on things to look for / ask?

sasamaxx · 28/04/2011 10:16

hotmilk

BarbieLovesKen · 28/04/2011 10:19

Jasmine sorry to hear your feeling so ill. I was a bit like that on Tuesday so you really have my sympathies. Let us know how you get on with the MW.

Clarkiee!!!!!! Oh my God! Im physic! I was just thinking about you yesterday and thought "I'd bet Clarkiee has had her babies". Oh Im pleased to hear the wonderful news and that your girls are doing so well (how weird must it be to suddenly go to mother of 2) I adore your names. I have cousins Naomi and Ciara (not sisters though) and I've never met any others. Always loved their names. How are you feeling?

Nurse that visit from X sounds really promising. Am really happy hes getting his bum in gear. Smile

Kara, thank you, am glad to hear your finishing up soon!!!!.

Moog72 · 28/04/2011 10:51

Congratulations Clarkiee! I love both name - gorgeous. I was just musing about how we must be due some more babies on this thread soon and opened up and your news was the first thing I saw ? lovely 

Jasmine My tummy is really tight at the moment too and uncomfortable ? sounds like you are really suffering with it though. Have you spoken to the midwife yet?

Thornykate - I wish my nesting instinct would kick in but to be honest at the end of a day at work and then cooking dinner putting DD to bed, I don?t feel like doing a single thing!

Nurse and Kara I have bought capsules and tea so will see which I get on with best. Thanks for the info on quantities Kara as had been wondering about that. Is it possible to take too much do you know? Ie. If I took 3 300mp tablets a day and had a cup of the tea??

I am so Envy re. maternity leave. I still have 20 working days ? how tedious!!

neenewps · 28/04/2011 11:13

clarkie Great big huge congratulations to you. So pleased to hear your lovely news. Love your name choices. Hope you are all doing well. What a surprise for you to suddenly be taken in like that :)

moomin Also great news to hear that Florence is on her way home.

Nurse So pleased that your ex is taking an active interest in everything. Long may it continue for you as makes life much easier for you I'm sure.

sasa Thank you so much for the info on the slings. Invaluable advice and I'm swaying towards the ergo. There is a shop in Edinburgh that stocks them so will pop along to have a look at them as soon as possible. I'm secretly hoping that there will be one at the NCT sale :o Doubt I will have that much luck though!!

jasmine hope you feel better and get some rest. Let us know how you are later.

We are definitely on the home straight now ladies.... eeeeeek!!!

takethatlady · 28/04/2011 12:15

Congratulations clarkiee! Wow we are really getting down to it now aren't we, when two of us are already mums :) Naomi Elizabeth and Ciara Rose are beautiful beautiful names

jasmine51 · 28/04/2011 13:01

Thanks for the thoughts everyone. Saw MW and she couldnt really say much - did all the usual checks and all fine. LO is actually sideways atm which is annoying because he's spent weeks being head down - I think he's let the sun get to him and now he's settled into a hammock position. White blood count slightly up but not enough to cause alarm. BP still low which she thinks is good but thats prob why I get giddy. She just thinks its a hormone sensitivity since worst sickness and tiredness seems to fade after midday. So, joy, just 7 more weeks of this rubbish to cope with then I'll feel on top of the world again, body will snap back into shape and all my energy will return....hmmm!

crumbletastic · 28/04/2011 13:21

Wow, Clarkiee! Congratulations to you! Everything seems so real now that our babies have started apperearing.

I'm like a woman possessed with the nesting instinct so far, I'm usually slobbing around as much as possible with tiredness but the past few days I've been like a whirlwind tidying/fixing loads of things in the house and garden. I've got itchy fingers now as I've had to stop whilst ds has a nap so i don't wake him with my noise but want to get going sorting out the spare piled high with rubbish room as soon as he wakes up. I hope this lasts as I like having energy again although I'm going to run out of things to tidy/sort/fix soon

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 28/04/2011 13:38

Oh my goodness! Boots Parenting club just told me I'm 33 weeks! I nearly forgot how far along I was. 7 weeks and 2 days til EDD.

Good news on x's attitude adjustment Nurse.

Did someone mention Linea Negra? I think I have the start of mine just creeping out of my lady bush today, but can't bend over bump enough to really tell. Hope it's not crooked like last time!

I feel so tired today. I had lots of really weird dreams last night and lots of tossing and turning (in a careful pregnant manner). The most bizarre dream was of course about Currant Bun and ended with me at the hospital begging to be induced early as baby was freaking me out so much! (it was flopping out of my stomach, while still in my stomach skin, demanding to be held.)

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 28/04/2011 13:40

Crumble, you can come around and sort out my place if you want Grin

jasmine51 · 28/04/2011 13:59

Just had an interesting conversation with the private MW who takes our aquanatal class. She said that if LO has shifted into a non optimal position then the rubbishness I feel could be the uterus trying to contract to move him back. This would probably also cause a hormone surge to protect the pg and thus making me feel rough. Makes sense to me so please send my naughty baby some 'shift back' thoughts Wink

By the way - if anyone in this area fancies it, she said her ambition was to manage a pagan birth on top of the hills close to here and would offer significant discount on her normal birthing fees! I think if I suggested this to the 'high risk' unit that manage me, they would have heart failure but I'm thinking about you Motherofsnortpigs...Grin

knackered76 · 28/04/2011 14:37

Hello all,

Clarkiee Amazing news on the safe arrival of your girls. I was thinking of you yesterday as i was in hospital opposite a woman having her twins today! Beautiful names and well done on the expressing :)

Moomin Fab news Florence is coming home so soon Grin. You have been doing an amazing job but bet you can't wait to get her where she belongs, at home with you both :)

Jasmine Sending baby turning thoughts your way and hope you feel a bit better.

Sorry for the people I've missed off, memory like a sieve and I'm not well (well that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it :)). Felt rubbish on tuesday, had a high temp which I couldn't get down so by 8pm had worked myself into a panic about the effect on Bob. Called hospital, who told me to come in. Arrived at 9.15pm and then spent the night being prodded, poked and jabbed with needles :( Bob was having a whale of a time so clearly no ill effects but I was feeling rubbish! They thought I might have clots, because of my breathing, so wouldn't let me go (fair enough) but it meant I had someone coming in the room almost every 1hr so got no sleep. After x-rays, much blood taking (one test took 4 attempts and they eventually gave me a local as I was in so much pain) it turns out I have chest infection and all I need are antibiotics! I'm now back at home letting dh do all the running around with the dc's school run, clubs, etc. Poor thing looks knackered Grin.

Right, I'm going back to sleep :)

sasamaxx · 28/04/2011 14:55

Hope you feel better soon knackered - and I bet that no sleep was exactly what you needed [chmm]

Hope your mind is more at rest now jasmine and hope baby tips head down again soon [cmsile]

LOL TTL more like 'spending money I don't have' guru [cwink]
They are a good investment though - They are such better quality than any others I have tried - various mothercare, marks&spencer and even the royce ones in bravissimo are way inferior. I see there's a deal for buy one get one half price just now as well - get a couple they are so lush [csmile]

NurseSunshine · 28/04/2011 15:01

Hope you're feeling a bit better now Jasmine. Have a stern word with William and let him know this is not on. If you give a child an inch he'll think he's a ruler [cgrin]

Sorry about your chest infection knackered, but at least it's not blood clots or something more serious. Sounds like you had a horrible time at the hospital though Sad Make sure DH doesn't let you lift a finger [cgrin]

TTL could you send your parents to my house when they're finished please? They sound fab!

NurseSunshine · 28/04/2011 15:04

Sasamaxx or other person who knows what they're talking about: How do you know what size bras to buy? I was under the impression that when your milk comes in your boobs grow again so do you have to wait until then to buy nursing bras?

sasamaxx · 28/04/2011 15:43

nurse I have a couple of different sizes, as they do grow again, but then come back down again. They adjust quite a lot in the back as well tho - apparently the stockists are trained to kind of gauge what size you need.
No matter what you do, though, there will prob be a phase at the beginning that they are sooooooo enormous that none of your bras will fit - but to buy for this size is a waste of money as it doesn't last very long. At this time, you should be able to just expand the back size and shoulder straps and ride the storm that way.
Hope some of that made sense.

mrswantstobeamum · 28/04/2011 16:01

Sorry you're not feeling well knackered. Hope the infection clears up soon.

Hope your naughty LO turns soon Jasmine!

I had a moment of panic today, thinking that some horrible stretch marks had appeared overnight. Turns out it was just marks on my skin from my dressing gown [cgrin], so I've dodged a bullet (for now at least)...

Thornykate · 28/04/2011 18:33

Evenin' all!

Hope everyone is ok?

sasa hope ur photos are saved? I deleted the whole holidays worth of the cameras memory card the day before we came home by pressing the wrong button Blush but a data recovery place got most of them back, don't know if the same can be done with laptops?

Jasmine sorry you are feeling poorly but glad you have been given a reasonable explanation, hope he turns back soon.

nurse that's a good start with the ex, glad he's seeing sense.

mrs I scared myself re stretch marks after I itches my belly the other week; it looked like a road map of red lines & I couldn't believe how quickly they'd appeared til I remembered I'd been scratching; whoops!

hi Oscar, am not sure what to ask on Hospital look around; is it the group tour? If yes they should tell you the important stuff like which door to come to if u start labour in middle of night so that you don't end up being wheeled the length of the hospital by a porter if you go in via a&e because all the main doors are locked....Yep that was me last time Grin. I wanted to walk but a&e staff were having none of it as I was in labour & had no other adult & my 2 DCs with me, v embarrassing!

Memory has gone now so sorry for anyone I missed.

I have ordered group b strep test kit for £32 & booked a reassurance/ positioning scan for nxt wk as it wasn't my usual MW today & she rushed so much . Am not convinced baby has turned head down so it's worth the money to have peace of mind!

Thornykate · 28/04/2011 18:35

Realised as soon as read back after I posted: knackered take it easy & hope you are better soon!

takethatlady · 28/04/2011 18:38

Gotta be quick as my battery on my laptop is about to go and I can't find the lead - but just wanted to console mrswantstobeamum. I too have had the 'oh my God my belly has turned into a giant stretchmark ... oh no it hasn't, I just did my dressing gown up a little too tightly' moment Grin

NurseSunshine · 28/04/2011 22:27

haha I keep thinking I've suddenly developed stretch marks then realise it's just lines from the waistband of my jeans! Heart attack every night, you'd think I'd have learned by now [chmm]

That made perfect sense sasa thanks [cgrin]

jasmine51 · 29/04/2011 09:24

Bad day in the Jasmine household, DH has been made redundant. Trying some deep breathing and stress reduction but not good timing.

sasamaxx · 29/04/2011 09:40

Re stretchmarks - I had a panic last week until DH pointed out that they were actually veins.

Oh no Jasmine - was there no warning whatsoever? Don't panic - everything will be fine. What sort of payment will he get? How easy is it to get another job? Really sorry to hear this - worst possible timing [rsad]
