Tiny Mothercare sell printed nighties - they call them bundlers I think, hang on, I'll get the link Here

Mrs I'm behind on my antenatal too, mine doesnt start until mid May when I'll be 37wks but we'll probably organise a private MW one for just the 2 of us soon because DH is really not the group hug type

I'm in a grumpy mood today...must have caught it off DH

KaraStarbuckThrace · 26/04/2011 09:03

I haven't bought a baby monitor yet, but am thinking about getting this one.
Although it is an analogue one, we had a digital one before and it was complete rubbish, so not to bothered about getting a digital one. Reviews are all good for it as well.

I'm going to an information evening at my local hospital Thursday. Want to find out about TENS hire and aromatherapy in labour!

crazychic141187 · 26/04/2011 10:21

I had a very strange dream last night that I was trying to breast feed and my nipple fell off! I have to say I woke up very confused and check they were still there! Anyone got any ideas on that?

Also ive been thinking a lot about what do you put a baby in at night coz in the summer I sleep with nothing on, under a sheet and still wake up sweating coz it gets so warm in our bedroom and I dont want baby to get overheated!

jasmine51 · 26/04/2011 10:37

crazy I've had a good look and your nipple isnt here, sorry - have you looked in the fridge?

neenewps · 26/04/2011 10:43

Hi all

Thank you so much for your lovely words and advice about my Mum. She is still sick and has been given different medication. She still hasn't seen a doctor at all, which I'm not too impressed with to be honest. I have just spoken to her on the phone and she just sounds exhausted and like she can't be bothered to speak to me... this is really unlike her so I have suggested that perhaps she calls the doctor again and ask for someone to come and see her. :(

Had my MW apt the other day and baby is lying back to back so have been trying to get him to shift round into the position he should be in! Haven't felt any great movements as yet but MW said not to panic just yet and besides I obviously still deliver him that way but the labour may be more painful and slower Hmm

I had one of those JL nursery advisory things and the lady there showed me the bundlers too. I haven't seen them though as JL was out of stock so thanks for the link Jasmine for the Mothercare ones.

crazy I wouldn't panic too much about the temperature. Just strip the wee one down to the nappy if needs be. We have the opposite problem whereby our house is very cool and even in this relatively nice weather the bedroom doesn't get above 16!

jasmine good to hear your DH is home safe and sound. Very brave of you to go to Ikea. Sometimes when it's the holidays AND nice weather it's the best time to go :)

merlion we have been given the BT ones. I'm told they are good. Switched them on to test they still work and listened to the radio through it but that is as far as the testing went!!

confessions really sorry to hear about your friend.

beesok congratulations. Wonderful news. Again keep us posted on how your pregnancy goes.

Sorry if I have missed any one out. My DH has just text to say select something I want to see at the Olympics next year... LO will be over 1 by then... eeeeek!!! Last day today for tickets.

Hope everyone had a lovely Easter.

crumbletastic · 26/04/2011 10:45

Woo, lots more to catch up on but my quick reading tellls me eveyone has been keeping their legs firmly crossed and we haven't had any more due in June babies make an appearance. You keep your legs extra crossed mother if you are on a medically advised nookie ban.

Thats heartbreaking news about your friend confessions, I reallly don't know what to say.

Interesting about these baby nighties, I've never seen them before but I will keep a look out for them in the shops. My house gets so hot in the summer which I amd dreading being heavily pregnant in. At least babies will be here before the height of summer.

I'm hoping my Ikea experience is as quiet at jasmines, I have a fortune in vouchers to use that I received as wedding presents last year but even though I love Ikea (and the meatballs and salmon gravadlax) I have been avoiding going but i really shoul before I get to heavy. Think I might need to palm ds1 off for the day though as think he would hate it.

Is anyone else suffering with carpal tunnel syndrome? I got it in the last month of my last pregnancy but I've had it for ages already this tinme round and I struggle to type or even hold onto my mug of coffee. I know that you can get a splint to sleep in in extreme circumstances so maybe it's time to make a doctors appointment. Has anyone else got any tips?

79monica · 26/04/2011 13:10

mrswantstobeamum I have noticed a few times over the past few days that I get quite a bit of pressure in my pelvis if I am walking around. Not pains, but definitely enough to make me slow down and think that walking to work once a week for some exercise is no longer an option.

Our NCT classes don't start until 3 May and the ante-natal section runs until 24 May when I'll be 37 +1. My MW said that she is going to delay doing her visit at our house, which will also cover the birth plan, until we've finished the classes. Hopefully this baby doesn't arrive early before the ante-natal classes and birth plan are done!

Merlion · 26/04/2011 14:02

Crazy I agree don't worry too much about the heat it's generally when they go from one extreme to the other that it is a problem as they can't regulate. I worried about it when DS was little but haven't got a hope in hell of getting the temperature below 20 living here even with air-con on lowest setting all day.

Has anyone heard from Clarkiee recently? I know she was moving but just thinking of her today.

neen sorry to hear your Mum still not good and hope she manages to get seen soon.

Moog72 · 26/04/2011 14:08

Hi all

CMH glad you sorted out your fit to fly letter! have a ncie holiday :)

Well I joined the peopel with grumpy husbands brigaed this weekend. DH was in a horrible mood and I have no idea why. he is supposed to be giving up smoking inmminently but if he is in this mood already I don't think I can face how awful he will be without cigarettes...

I spent half an hour yesterday looking a youtube v ideos and trying to tie my new wrap sling! I think I have it worked out but I suspect I will have forgotten by the time baby is here.

33 weeks today. Time seems to have slowed down now - I just want to leave work but still 5 more weeks.

Tried to paint my tonenaikls last night and gave myself horrible reflux / indigestion. Would have asked DH to help me but he was in sucha bad mood I didn't dare!

The nighties are a good idea I think - I may have to go and do a bit more shopping Grin

Joannezipan · 26/04/2011 14:14

We are starting our NCT class tonight, i'm a bit nervous about it! I know that's silly, but we had an email from the woman running it saying we could bring a birthing ball to sit on if we want to...I don't have one. Still I expect there will be chairs!

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 26/04/2011 14:26

Thanks for the kind words about me friend everyone. I feel bad now, for the downer. She was my only RL friend actually pg at the same time as me, so even though she lives on the other side of the world, I was quite excited. It does make me appreciate my uncomplicated pregnancy all the more (if only the rest of my life were so straightforward!). Mother I hope I found the right words too!

I'm now just hoping that we can afford to buy at least 1 out chair in the near future, so that I can bask in the sun whilst massive/recovering from birth! Even if I know the temp is never going to hit 30+ for days on end... (I like hot weather, what can I say?!)

Moog72 · 26/04/2011 14:28

Sorry for all the typos Blush - I must learn to preview my messages before posting!

jimper · 26/04/2011 18:18

Hi all! I have lots of reading back to do - hope everyone is well and enjoying some bank holiday sunshine! I made it back to the UK after 2 very long and stressful days of travelling and had my first experience of a UK MW today - scary stuff! I nearly had heart-failure when she started feeling the baby - no one has done that before and then she grabbed baby's bum in her hand - so weird! Baby went crazy - kicking and moving like mad! Very funny!

Have also managed to spend a crazy amount of money on baby stuff - how can something so little cost so much!? Say goodbye to DH on Saturday :( but enjoying the down time for the moment :)

Joannezipan · 26/04/2011 18:59

jimper welcome! Sounds like your MW has it all in hand!

Moog don't worry about the typos...I'm dyslexic so I can't see them anyway.
We went for a swim this afternoon - it was really good to do some exercise...odd though because all my buoyancy is different. Swimming on your front is hard as it feels like your bum is trying to pop out of the water all the time! Back stroke is the way forward. We also went to the supermarket this morning, then got home to find the postman had delivered my letter with the voucher for my next bounty pack...could have done with that before going to the supermarket where I can collect it! Hmm. We are going to NCT tonight - first class. DH is annoyed because he has to miss canvassing evening to come Angry.

crazychic141187 · 26/04/2011 20:41

Woo DP is sat on the sofa next to me! He is home at last! But the nurses were sad to see him leave the hospital!

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 26/04/2011 21:01

Grin Yay for your DH being home with you Crazy

Joannezipan · 26/04/2011 22:00

Crazy that is amazing news :o Congratulations!

Merlion · 27/04/2011 03:31

Crazy fantastic news.

Jimper am a little Envy although not of the MW treatment though.

Starting on the raspberry leaf tea today at 34+2...

Liking these [csmile]. DH has finally relented so we have an evening in watching the wedding (we're 7 hours ahead) - he's even offered to go and buy fish and chips for us!

moomin156 · 27/04/2011 09:52

Will catch up in a minute but just needed to share that FLorence could be coming home on friday......OMG. Turned up yesterday, introduced to outreach team, did resus training and there was us thinking it was all in preparation for a few weeks time.....but no she said depending on weight gain on Thursday it could be Friday but definitely before Monday. So excited I couldn't sleep. We are now in mad house sort mode, sheet washing, drawer tidying etc.
Went out for a nice meal last night as we thought it could be our last for a while.
Florence is managing at least 2 full breastfeeds and a cup at night ( which thru say she would feed if I was there), weighs 4lb and they are happy. I am literally bouncing.......Grin

jasmine51 · 27/04/2011 10:04

Moomin yay for Florence coming home! Can we bounce around for you too? You have obviously done a fantastic job to be able to take over so early, hope you are proud of yourself and thoroughly enjoy the (slow) drive home on Friday x

jasmine51 · 27/04/2011 10:11

Please can I have a pat on the back (because DH, now known as The Grumpus wont do it) - I've just written down all the locations and opening hours of the various cafes, vending machines and shops at the hospital and laminated it so anyone who comes to see me before during and after delivery will know where to get (me) grub - how organised am I?!

NurseSunshine · 27/04/2011 10:44

Yay moomin!!! How exciting! 4lbs is amazing and she's learned to breastfeed, what a little trooper [cgrin] Enjoy your lovely meal.

That is incredibly organised!!

NurseSunshine · 27/04/2011 10:45

Ph and congrats on you DH coming back ncrazy that's great news [cgrin]

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 27/04/2011 11:23

[cgrin] Moomin So happy for you. (did i mention Grin?)

Moog72 · 27/04/2011 12:33

Wow - congratulations Moomin that is fantastic news Grin

My news is not as exciting as that. Last night I noticed for the first time that I have a feint linea nigra though. Belly button still in but I think it won't be long now!

For those of you taking raspberry leaf - are you taking tablets or drinking tea?
