Nice words Lisa I haven't seen my Dad for many years, and he moved house a few years ago and has not told me where. I have often wondered how I would feel if anything happened to him, and didn't know anyone who had similar'ish' circumstances - you sound like you have handled it in the best possible way - well done!

On another note entirely - I had the most awful dreams last night: I had my new baby (at my childhood home?!) and was trying to breast feed, all seemed to be going well till I realised that every time I fed her, I got bite marks ON MY FEET! Shock WTF?!?!?!?! Also had to run errands that took longer than 2 hours but had to be back within 2 hours to feed baby and was panicing, WITH BITE MARKS ON MY FEET! clearly I have major issues!

crumbletastic · 21/04/2011 10:56

Wow, it's taken me 2 days to catch up on the weekend activities after going away for a couple of days, so much has happened that I have no chance of giving some individual replies but wishing those with twitchy uteruses lots of relaxing time, and those with bum down babies lots of wiggly baby vibes. I've lost count but am either 31 or 32 weeks and baby is breech so also hoping for wiggly baby times for me.

I've had a very emotional but also very happy few days away, I've always joked that my family is very 'Jeremy Kyle' and moved 130 miles away from them so I could be free of the drama but this year my mum has been released from prison and on monday graduated from narcotics anonymous and is a completely amazing different person. I spent the whole 45 minute graduation ceremony emotionally crying and now I'm home I'm sad that I have a normal mum again but I'm so far away. She had done some pretty upsetting toxic things to me in her time so that she missed my last pregnancy completely as she would purposefully hurt me or upset me so I didn't want to be around her but now I just want her to be around as much as possible for this grandchild.

Sorry for the self indulgant moan but in happier news I have been enjoying my first week of maternity leave in the sun, and hope the glorious weather carries on for everybody

sasamaxx · 21/04/2011 12:38

Take it easy motherofsnortpigs and thornykate

Very wise words Lisascat

Sorry about your family complications crumbletastic - sounds like things are really gettting back on track so do try to focus on that instead of the past Smile

Jasmine Grin at the skirting boards and fab that DH is on his way home.

I had a terrifying dream last night that there was a tsunami Shock
I'm off for a couple of days by the sea on Monday as well.

Just decided to start raspberry leaf capsules today.
I'm 34 weeks tomorrow so think I'll take 1 a day for a week and then up it to 2 a day next Friday. Quite exciting really.
I'm also going to sort out some aromatherapy for labour over the next couple of weeks as it really helped last time.

Hope everyone is having a good day - nearly the weekend after all!!!

NurseSunshine · 21/04/2011 12:45

Glad everyone's babies have decided to stay put, they obviously don't realise what lovely weather it is! MOSP and Thorny keep talking loudly about how wet and cold it is and they won't want to come out of their nice warm home.

Lisa your post made me tear up a little. I haven't seen my dad for almost my whole life and neither of us know where the other one is anymore so I will never see him again. I think I've finally realised that this is his loss, especially now I'm having a baby and he is missing out on a grandchild as well as a daughter. Not the same as your situation I know but there's obviously some very strong emotions there, whether you'd seen him recently or not.

Crumble that's amazing that your mum's turned her life around, and just in time for her to be a proper grandmother to this little one. You'll be able to see her loads if you both put the effort in. Maybe she could stay with you for a bit after the baby's born?

Joannezipan · 21/04/2011 13:49

I've just relised I'm 32 weeks today! Woo go me!

Anyway, My boss is creating a fuss...yes the same idiot boss. Because I am supposed to be going to a meeting in Birmingham on 3rd May. Really the fuss is because he doesn't want to pay for me to go, but he is selling it as care of me because I'll be "too pregnant". Is it unreasonable for me to travel to Birmingham (1.5 hours away) at 33+5? I don't feel odd about it...I mean if anything happens it will be an emergency thing at that point right and as long as I take my notes with me I assume they have hospitals in the midlands too? Also I'm not going alone and my collegue is driving so I can relax in the car both ways...I think he is being a Tw@t as per normal but I might be being an unreasonable pregnant woman.

NurseSunshine · 21/04/2011 13:52

EEEEK!!! My cot and pushchair has just arrived Grin

NurseSunshine · 21/04/2011 13:53

People fly off on holiday at further along that that Joanne! I think he is being unreasonable not you!

Joannezipan · 21/04/2011 13:58

I suspected as much Nurse He is just having a hissy fit because so many of us are off on leave this month (including him i'll just point out) oh and he is a tw@t - did i mention that already?

Joannezipan · 21/04/2011 14:00

Nurse Oh and that is an exciting looking pushchair! Is yours red? - this is the best colour because according to my friend Rich anything red goes faster!

takethatlady · 21/04/2011 15:44

Oh good joannezipan mine's red too :)

Grin at jasmine's love of skirting boards. They are good inventions. In fact, as I write this I'm noticing that we don't have skirting boards in part of our living room and having a bit of skirting board envy Envy Grin

Grin also at curiouselle's dream, and lots of hugs to lisa, nurse and crumble, losing or regaining parents. It is weird how much it all makes you reevaluate, isn't it? My mum is a very lovely, kind, caring and loving mother but she was also very very controlling (to quite scary levels) and suffocating when I was a teenager and we had a couple of huge arguments about it carrying on last year before I got pregnant (partly triggered by me ttc). But she's made this most massive effort to help DH and I while I've been pregnant without treading on our toes, taking over, or making us feel inadequate, and also without getting jealous or upset about or relationships with the other grandparents - and I am really amazed. Obviously reevaluations can happen on the grandparents' part as well as ours!

So much is going on on this thread. Really glad your tightenings appear to have stopped thorny :)

I have got toxoplasmosis a cold. I've only had one cold during my pregnancy and no other illnesses, despite being surrounded by germy students all the time, so I should be grateful. But of course I'm using google far more than I should ...

Hi ladies.

Must apologise again as I'm so so so far behind with this thread. Just popped in as I'm 35 weeks now and today is the equivalent day that I went into labour with DD. Am so nervous, haven't been able to think straight for weeks. But fingers crossed no signs of anything happening, and consultant did say 34-35 weeks were the ones to watch. Hoping we get through this week.

If I get to 36 weeks, baby doesn't automatically go to special care. Get to 37 weeks and I don't have to be strapped down like a mad woman monitored. If I get to 37 weeks I promise I will get back up to speed with everyone!!!!

Jasmine - fingers crossed your DH is on his way... and all [bgrin] and not [bangry]

Joanne - get your DH told!!!! If he wants to find out what it is like being you, tell him to strap a 17lb bowling ball to his stomach and have it on all day!

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 21/04/2011 17:30

Can you all PLEASE I demand you all ---- stop going on about the lovely warm weather ENGLAND is having [buenvy][buenvy]. I can get my washing dry, but it's cloudy and none to warm here. (did I mention [buenvy]?)

Pleased and sad to hear about peoples families. They're complicated things aren't they?

TK, 8RD and GV hope your little ones behave and stay put for a few more weeks (and everyone elses for that matter!)

Mostly I'm posting so I can play with the buny ears [bugrin][bublush][busmile][bubiscuit] Aww no bunny wine.

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 21/04/2011 17:32

hmm [bubear]

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 21/04/2011 17:32

yeah it worked [bugrin]

(can you tell I'm procrastinating unloading boxes?)

jimper · 21/04/2011 19:01

Am on maternity leave!!!! YAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!

Preparing to say goodbye to DH :( :( :( :( :(

79monica · 21/04/2011 19:46

I think that my DH is developing a hatred of skirting boards this week. The last people who owned our house had a teenage boy in the room which we are turning into the nursery and his decoration style was very black and grey, including black skirting boards. Tomorrow poor DH is planning to do the third coat of white gloss paint to try to hide the black!

He has spent most of this week sanding, painting and wandering round B&Q and so has missed most of the sun, but the end of the decorating is in sight. I'm about to go and put samples of the tester pots on the walls and then tomorrow we can choose and then buy the wall paint. [busmile] He keeps telling the bump that the next time this room gets decorated, bump will have to help [bugrin]!

We had a minor panic last night when he realised that he had forgotton to take his wedding ring off before painting and had coated it all with gloss. I was half expecting to have to get the jewellers to have to rescue it but luckily it survived with a bit of white spirit.

Glad everyone's babies are staying put for now!

8rubberduckies · 21/04/2011 20:35

Hi all - Happy Holidays! Hope everyone has got nice things planned.

79monica my DP has developed a hatred of skirting boards too, and has had a very similar week to yours. Our landlord and landlady are completely colour-blind, and he has been busy sanding down the purple woodwork and covering the blue walls and ceiling in our spare room this week to make it into a baby's room!

So sorry to hear about your Dad Lisa, and I'm really glad your Mum is pulling through a tough time in her life Crumble. I think children coming into the family make everyone around them reassess what is important in their life and their relationships. I know lots of things changed in my immediate family when ds came along, as he was the first grandchild.

Had a very interesting midwife appt yesterday, the midwife I saw reckons if I pay for a Strep B test and its negative at 36 weeks I should be able to argue that I do not need anti-biotics, and hence can use the midwife led unit and the birthing pool. She said that if the test is negative dd is not at much more risk than the baby of a Mum who has never had it.

Goodvibrations fingers crossed for you; join the legs crossed club, there seems to be a right little gang of you growing now!!! Smile

Oh, and dd has turned, and I have suddenly grown massive overnight - lets hope she stays put Smile.

Right - I've got a takeaway waiting for me in the kitchen, so can't hang around here all night - jerk chicken, rice and peas, coleslaw, plaintain and dumpling - WOW!

AlmightyCitrus · 21/04/2011 23:02

I think I need to catch up!

Well, I caught sight of myself in a mirror today and realised that I'm not having a baby, but more likely a fully grown sumo wrestler. I'm HUUUUGGGEEE. I've no idea which way up the baby is, but I'm at the midwife next week so I'll ask.

Of course with increasing belly, comes decreasing bladder.

Get up, wee. Drink a mug of coffee, wee, wee, eat, wee, wee, walk 100 yards and feel a real urge to wee, only to be told off by 11 year old DD that "you've just been...you can't need to go again" (now she knows how I felt 6 years ago.) wee, eat, wee....

NurseSunshine · 22/04/2011 07:54

haha I'm exactly the same Almighty!

Ahhh I had such a bad night, kept waking up, about 4 times, and then took ages to get back to sleep, eventually woke up at 6.30am and couldn't get back to sleep again so had to get up in the end. So annoying. Plus my shoulders are sore from sleeping on my side but obviously I can't sleep on my back or stomach to relieve it so I've just got to put up with it. Grrrr

sasamaxx · 22/04/2011 08:16

Morning everyone - it's FRIDAY - yipppeeee!!!!

cep · 22/04/2011 08:24

good morning ladies.

I'm not sure if you remember me or not, i was on the thread at the beginning but mc'd at the end of nov. i've been keeping the odd eye stalking on your thread on and off over the last couple of months. I just thought i'd pop back to say hello. I'm pg again and although i've had odd bits of bleeding over the last few weeks had a scan last tuesday and bean's fine. i'm 11+6 today and have my proper 12 scan on the 5th, so hopefully all will still be fine.

mummyno2 congratulations on the wedding.
and moomin was it? (sorry memory's fading now i've changed pages) congratulations on your little girl.

confessions i notice you can still do the pombear, i've forgotten how to do it, i thought it was just [pombear] but it doesn't seem to work.

i'm glad to see that you are all doing so well. Goodluck over your last 6-8 weeks.
