Morning all, I forgot to say congratulations to Almighty Citrus yesterday; what a great thing to win!

I am also going to give the raspberry leaf tea a go, I drank it from about 37 weeks with ds, but may start a couple of weeks earlier this time and also take the capsules. I was overdue and induced so didn't manage to see if it was effective at all last time, but I am determined to not be induced this time Smile. I also massaged my perineum with almond oil last time, and was coincidentally thinking about it this morning, and how I need to start again sharpish. Google perineal massage and you'll get some tips (and possibly some didgy links Grin). You are meant to gently stretch the area as well by massaging from inside as well as outside, but I struggled with this, as I really didn't like the sensation.

Thornykate your run in with a charmer this morning sounds horrible Angry. Road rage really stresses me out!

crazychic I have very painful knees after a long day running around after ds - according to my chiropractor it is because they are taking some of the extra strain on your stomach and thigh muscles / ligaments as your pelvic area becomes weaker because of the extra weight and pressure. I am also suffering with aching hips in the night from sleeping on my side. I have put a spare single duvet under my sheet, which seems to have helped a bit, and use a long body pillow. My SPD is getting worse and worse everyone - feeling very miserable about it at the moment Sad.

jimper · 14/04/2011 10:33

Thornykate that is awful - what a horrible woman....don't let it stress you out.

I am the walking dead today - yesterday I was at work for 13 hours and today 14 hours - and I have already given out 10 detentions (oooops!). Word is out that MrsJimper is in a really bad mood today! Everything aches and I am so tired and blah blah blah......

Maybe I should go shopping......

jasmine51 · 14/04/2011 10:50

Flippin eck ladies, I got an email from DH this morning apologising for being a git, thanking me for all the stuff I am doing here with the house and confirming he is trying to get home at the end of this month. Jer I think he heard you! I am guessing he has been nudged by one of the guys he works with as generally its only when his colleagues talk fondly about their families that he drops his guard and starts thinking like a normal person. Anyway, I am going to celebrate with copious amounts of peanut M&Ms and then I will be framing the email.

Can I ask a question to anyone with young DC...how many Williams are in your DCs classes? The name seem to be going up the charts again and with the Royal Wedding and all that I'm trying to assess whether its a stupid idea to be thinking about that as a name.

8rubberduckies · 14/04/2011 11:02

Jasmine ds (aged 2.8) is not at school yet but does go to a childminders and a toddler group amd we only know one other William. I think it is a lovely name, royalty aside Smile.

sasamaxx · 14/04/2011 11:38

Jasmine that's fantastic about your DH Smile
I don't know any child-Williams at all.

8rubberduckies sorry about your SPD getting worse Sad. Mine was so bad on Monday that I could only hobble. I spoke to a physio friend who advised that since it's at the back of the pelvis and not the front, I could go swimming which I did on Tuesday. Only did 12 lengths but then no pain for the rest of that day and yesterday Shock. It's back today though, but mildly.

8rubberduckies · 14/04/2011 12:04

Sasamaxx once I am on mat leave I'm going to try and go swimming as much as possible, so it is good to know it has helped you. Only 3 weeks to go!!!! Smile Smile Smile

Jasmine glad your husband is seeing the light!

jimper · 14/04/2011 12:07

Jasmine - if I was having a boy I would be using William - it is a family name. Although DH is Irish so we would be using the Irish version which is Liam.....I think it is lovely.

Merlion · 14/04/2011 12:55

Jasmine so pleased he's come round a bit. I also really like William but a) we're having a girl and b) our surname begins with W so think it would be too much Smile

I hadn't realise you could start so early with the raspberry leaf tea. There is a box sitting on my desk at work that a friend kindly donated so maybe I'll start around 34 weeks then.

79monica · 14/04/2011 13:29

Of all of our friends' babies born in the last 12 months two of the three boys born were called William and we also know someone else who is currently pregnant who will be using William if the baby is a boy. I have a feeling that it will be a popular name this year. The girls were Isla, Amelie, Annabelle and Alexandria so girls' names beginning with a vowel seem to be popular amongst our friends!

KaraStarbuckThrace · 14/04/2011 13:33

I know of 2 little Williams about the same age as DS, one is 3 the other is 4. They are both lovely boys :)
I do like the name William but DH wasn't so keen, plus the 3yo William was born only 3 weeks before DS!

Just been shopping with DS and am knackered!!!

Thorny - horrible woman, don't let her get to you. Lovely example she is setting for her kids with her potty mouth Hmm

Jasmine - yey for your DH, did he mention anything more about the Doula/Independant MW?

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 14/04/2011 13:38

Good news about DH Jasmine. Grin As for the name William I know of 1 (sister of a friend) who must be 4 or 5 by now and DS's middle name is William (family name though). Don't know any Williams locally (mind you this is Scotland and the royals aren't so popular here I think).

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 14/04/2011 13:39

I do know of a couple of James/Jamies though.

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 14/04/2011 13:42

Which is a random statement because James has nothing to do with William.

I do know a Liam.

8rubberduckies · 14/04/2011 13:45

Grin confessions, you have just summed up how my brain feels today. hence why I'm in work just surfing Mnet! Blush

Joannezipan · 14/04/2011 15:59

Hello everyone

I think my brain has ceased up so I'm going to try not to think for the rest of the day - work smirk :)

Jasmine I'm glad to hear your DH is being a bit more reasonable today, I think William is a nice name, my bro was born the same year as HRH and did have quite a lot of Williams in his class at school. I don't know any baby Williams amongst my friends kids - but then there are only 4 of them so far!

Confessions I think we might be in the same brain space today!

Thorny wow - just wow...that "lady" needs some chill pills! Hmm

Interesting about the Rasberry Leaf Tea - I did some googling www.askbaby.com/raspberry-leaf-tea.htm and it seems it won't bring on labour, but makes the labour easier...I'm all over that - week 34 you say?? I'm 31 weeks today so not long until I can start that then :o

NurseSunshine · 14/04/2011 17:11

Glad DH has come round Jasmine :) I think William is a lovely name btw. Would you shorten to Will when he was a bit older?

Wow 10 detentions Jimper!! Hope it made you feel better Grin what do you teach?

Thorny Shock at that woman. Glad she didn't take you up on your offer though!

Have just added "raspberry leaf tea" to my shopping list :)

neenewps · 14/04/2011 17:17

confessions you have really made me laugh with your random posts :o

jasmine so glad to hear you have had an email from your DH. Great news

I was having a really sh*t day today. Woke up feeling really down in the dumps. Think it was after working finances out yesterday and realising that when the wee one arrives we really are going to be skint - particularly when the lower rate mat pay kicks in. So looks like I am going to have to go back to work sooner :( not sure how we are going to do it as with me being physically away with work for periods of up to 7 days... am feeling very depressed about the whole thing! Plus my bil just bought a fancy new car and just seems to be one of these people where everything drops into his lap whereas me and my DH work bloody hard and still seem to struggle... moan moan moan - sorry ladies. Just needed to get it off my chest slightly!

On the upside I managed to reupholster my nursing chair. Will try and post a piccie on my profile picture. Really enjoyed doing it... have been trawling ebay and gumtree for wrecks to do up. As well as old furniture. I love it! Problem is I know I will want to keep everything!! :)

Plus I just made a raspberry and almond frangipane. Yummy... just waitng for it to cool before I treat myself to the whole lot one or two slices and a cuppa!!

Where can we buy raspberry leaf tea from as I'm all over it too!!

neenewps · 14/04/2011 17:19

oh and jasmine I love the name William. We would have loved to have used it but our very good friends have just named their boy William and also our surname doesn't go with it unfortunately. I only know the one William.

NurseSunshine · 14/04/2011 18:27

Oooh that sounds lovely neenewps, save me a slice. Sorry you're feeling down. Is there any way you could cut down your hours for a bit? Or take on a slightly different role so you wouldn't have to be away for so long? (not sure what you do so that might not be possible)

jasmine51 · 14/04/2011 18:45

Does anyone else have to cover the glass on their washing machine when washing teddies to hide their sad little wet faces going round and round? Anyone? Just me? Blush

NurseSunshine · 14/04/2011 18:51

I have no teddies to wash

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 14/04/2011 19:10

My brain is still fried (and FIL is imminent) so this may come out another garbled mess so apalogies in advance.

neenewps feeling a bit Envy at your reupholstery hobby. It is something I've become interested in in the last year, but don't have the space or financial out lay to give it a try just yet. Are you self taught or did you take a course?

Had my first Anti d jab this afternoon. The fecking lab had spelt my last name wrong. not just a random spelling mistake, but put a completely different name in. So it took more than half an hour for a 2 minute jab. Never mind it's done now. And gave me time to muse my hospital situation, but FIL is here now and I need to get dinner on, so shall ponder that one another time.

NurseSunshine · 14/04/2011 19:36

Allow me Confessions

BOOBS

Joannezipan · 14/04/2011 20:50

jasmine they are happy to get clean, it's like going on a water flume for them!
neenewps yummy can I have a slice too?

right off to cook dinner - groan that means standing up...

petitech · 14/04/2011 21:24

Evening ladies, had third of four ante natal classes tonight, talked about the delightful topics of tears, stitches and birthing positions, cheered myself up with a chippy tea :)
Not heard of having raspberry tea early on..... interesting
As for names, we also liked William but decided that if we have a boy would use as middle name instead as already know two other people having boys using William and think the wedding will make it a very popular name this year.
Four weeks to go at work and counting!
