HI everyone, I know it is very early but I got a very faint positve line this morning, and another at lunch, and another at tea time! Was not due AF till Thurs but was meant to be going for a proceedure that involved radiation tomorrow so needed to do checks and here I am, and there I will not be! I have already got 2 and not told OH yet but need to tell somebody! Anyone else yet?

I am getting a bit stressed today. Keep getting sensations of heaviness in my lower abdomen. Tomorrow I reach 6 weeks and it is starting to freak me out. I know relaxation will help but its difficult.

LadyOfTheManor · 15/04/2011 10:34

I'm off to get some anti sickness tablets today and have also spoken to the acupuncturist so hopefully I'll be feeling better soon-ish. :(

jomouse · 15/04/2011 10:37

LittleBlueBoat Jesus, is all that true??

WAAAAAHHHHH!!!! Consider me truely freaked out.

Oh well, suppose I have many months to get used to the idea (heres hoping!). Its amazing. 35 years on this planet and I really don't have a clue about the fundamentals of childbirth.

BlueCrane · 15/04/2011 10:40

Hey xstitch I have had cramps on and off all week but they have gone this morning so I have been bit worried about that...think whichever way it goes our minds will be Hmm what's going on! 6 weeks is good! Try to stay calm.

I'm getting a little bit irritated by copious CM...keep being convinced I must be bleeding as it feels like that [sorry TMI] and rushing off to the loo!! Clearly this will be a minor irritation in comparison to all the other uncomfortableness to follow in the next few months Wink

BlueCrane · 15/04/2011 10:42

jomouse I definitely haven't got my head around the giving birth bit and not sure the another human growing inside me bit has really sunk in either!!! Grin all a bit crazy...

xstitch · 15/04/2011 10:42

I have been having the same problem with CM blue. 6 weeks is when I had my first MC so it scares me.

jomouse · 15/04/2011 10:46

BlueCrane won't be watching Alien in a hurry, thats for sure

LittleBlueBoat · 15/04/2011 10:50

Sorry everyone.

It really is not that bad. Some people do not see the water at all, other have them broken in hospital and some only when the baby comes out.

Labour is differeant for everyone. But for me i had to walk a mile thru the hospital to delivery ward with water running out of me to be told to go home again and it was yukky. Also no one ever told me that they take the pain relife away so you can feel the contractions so you know when to push - its very locial when you think about it - but i didn't and its more scary that no one told me!

Its all over very quick and its good because at the end you get to see your cute little baby. If it was that bad then everyone would be an only child and we are not.

xstitch · 15/04/2011 10:51

Can I just say your waters don't necessarily keep dribbling Mine gushed then dribbled for maybe about 15min at the most. Not all midwives take away all pain relief for pushing either. Can't promise it is entirely pain free but there are things to get you through it and you get a wonderful baby at the end. Not everyone needs forceps either.

LittleBlueBoat · 15/04/2011 11:03

Some woman have pain relife free home births so its not that bad Grin

I think the fear of the unknow was the worst for me because the first time you dont know what to expect, once it starts your body takes over and knows what to do as this is what we are designed to do.

Also you know that the pain will not last for ever.

adalle · 15/04/2011 11:04

Can we talk about labour in November please!!! Grin

toomuchpizza · 15/04/2011 11:05

Hi everyone. We are finally all better after the D&V bug - it's not what you need when you're pregnant!

I think I'm 5+4 today and all seems well. I'm a bit nauseous witch occasional retching but not actually being sick yet. My boobs are a little bit fuller but not particularly sore, however in my other pregnancies they weren't that sore at this stage either. I've got lots of cramping and lots of CM and also feel very heavy in my abdomen. I'm still very bloated and can't do up any of my trousers. I look really pregnant so am hoping the bloating dies down as it's really difficult to hide it.

sevenfrustrateddwarves You should give your health centre a ring and ask if you need to see GP or if you should just contact the midwife. I went to the GP first time round but didn't last time. I just got in touch with the midwives attached to the surgery and they arranged my booking appointment at 10 weeks. It would normally be around 8-9 weeks but it was over Christmas.

Congratulations to jomouse and thunder on your scans, and adalle on your bloods - I'm glad you're feeling better.

I hope everyone has a nice weekend. We're in the middle of decorating our bathroom and hope to finish it this weekend. I can't wait to get rid of all the associated mess.

Talking about labour - my waters had to be broken in both my labours and they kept dribbling for a little while but not too long. With DS2 he was back to back and after the MW broke my waters I kept getting little gushes which she said was him turning. She was right too as he came out the right way round less than an hour and a half later.

I was induced with DS1 as I had gestational diabetes and pre-eclampsia which ended up in forceps for foetal distress and it wasn't as bad as I would've thought. Next time round I had a lovely straightforward (and quick!) birth with just gas and air. I'm really looking forward to labour strangely.

Mizza76 · 15/04/2011 11:12

ChinngisKhan - Nothing bad, just very very vivid... woke up with a start!

sevendwarves · 15/04/2011 11:15

adalle you need to think about birth before November, I had DS at exactly 8 months. Thankfully he was tiny (4lb 9 oz) but didn't even have to go in SCBU and was allowed home after 3 days.

HarderToKidnap · 15/04/2011 11:26

Hi guys,

Not great news for me either. Had some bleeding overnight, scan this morning showed two sacs. Both empty (which is to be expected at this gestation, she said), one bleeding so look like it is going. I have started a thread in Chat to see if anyone has had similar experiences. 12 days to wait until next scan...

LittleBlueBoat · 15/04/2011 11:27

Glad your son was ok sevendwarves.

I will have my birthplan and bag ready by week 30 just in case Grin i like being organized.

jomouse · 15/04/2011 11:33

glendathegoodwitch · 15/04/2011 11:56

adalle · 15/04/2011 12:45

7dwarves I know i know but would like to run into the hills not thinking about it!!

xstitch · 15/04/2011 13:09

I was hoping I would have had my scan appointment through by now so that I would have a specific date to be looking forward to/ dreading IYSWIM.

BeeMyBaby · 15/04/2011 14:41

As a december baby myself, I'm very looking forward to having a December baby - I'm hoping it turns into a birthday present for me. DD was over 2 weeks early so I'm hoping this one is on time or late.

I am however, discussing midwivery birthing techniques with DH as last year there was snow from mid Nov preventing us from travelling, so its always possible it could be a problem this year.

Can we just add our ages to the stats? I'm 24.

I am very much looking forward to the birth again, it was a bit like a rollercoaster ride which is scary at the time but afterwards you just want to do it again. Jan9ne I think i may have jinxed myself too with that statement.
