HI everyone, I know it is very early but I got a very faint positve line this morning, and another at lunch, and another at tea time! Was not due AF till Thurs but was meant to be going for a proceedure that involved radiation tomorrow so needed to do checks and here I am, and there I will not be! I have already got 2 and not told OH yet but need to tell somebody! Anyone else yet?

Thanks for all your kind words...have picked myself up and just getting on with the day...if I've got one of those digi tests with the words on it next week I'd quite like to go back to the same doc just to say I told you so!! My friend suggested getting a digi words one too so will invest in one over the weekend. last AF date friday 4th March and think I ov'd on 25th March, I have quite a long cycle (up to 36 days) so think that would make me 5+6 though in reality probably more like 4+6 because of late ov date if that makes sense.

xstitch Shock Shock at your doc response to MC...think I've a lot to learn about the NHS!

BeeMyBaby · 14/04/2011 14:53

Poulette re-blood pressure, in my last pregnancy my bp went to 80/50 initially, my DH looked it up and its normal for your BP to decrease initially in pregnancy, then to gradually increase throughout pregnancy (after about 12 weeks).

DarciesmumandTTC2 · 14/04/2011 15:39

Hey Ladies,

Can I join in. got a BFP this morning, 3 days before AF is due but kept feeling I needed to pee all the time and quite tired and going off food a little.
I used clearblue digital with conception indicator. worked my due date as 26th Dec.

plupedantic · 14/04/2011 16:36

Horrible story, xstitch, let's hope it will all be better this time.

Darciesmum, what a due date!!!

Jan9ne · 14/04/2011 16:39

welcome Darcie- pop yourself on the list.

Bluecrane your dr's manner is pretty awful but can't say i am surprised. I have come across some amazing nhs staff over the last 18 months particularly nurses and midwives but as for some (not all) of the drs and consultants, they can be extremely cold and arrogant. Some of them could use an empathy pill or two. As for telling your gp when you ov they'll probably ignore you and go with the date of your last period but when you have your 12 week scan they can date you pretty much to the day. At mine they told me my baby (now my dd) was three days younger than in my notes which i knew as at the time i was having 31 day cycles.
I guess they have to standardise these things.
Go in next week and throw all your bfps at her!

xstitch · 14/04/2011 16:41

Hello newbies. 26th Dec, great due date. It's going to be very hard work this year for people on this thread getting ready for Christmas isn't it?

xstitch · 14/04/2011 16:42

I don't know about anyone else but I think we should complain more about the bad ones otherwise it will never change. Gives the good ones a bad name too.

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 14/04/2011 16:51

So upsetting hearing people's experiences of appalling bedside manners, especially when there are so many great doctors, nurses and midwives.

Good luck for next week bluecrane. If it helps, I still got bfn at 6weeks with ds.

My hormones have kicked in emotionally, have been so down today for no reason, then ds was being a little difficult, I burst into tears and bless him he gave me the biggest hug ever then has been a brilliant boy. Ugh though, I can't deal with emotional instability already!

BlueCrane · 14/04/2011 16:51

It's frustrating as I used to have such a lovely doctor at that practice who was always sooo lovely but unfortunately he retired in the summer...I know he would've been so thrilled if I'd gone to see him to say I was PG...when i went in about going on the pill when I was getting married he was so excited and kept asking me about my DH to be etc etc. I've stayed with this practice even though I'm now technically out of their area as my new local ones have a bad reputation! So much for sticking with the good guys...Eitherway, I'll see how she does next week when I brandish (hopefully) lots of strong line/digi BFP pee sticks!! Smile

If all goes well a Dec due date is actually a bit of a pain for me as my DM lives overseas and would love to fly over for birth/period soon after but of course Christmas is the most expensive time to fly!! Will have to chat that one through with her when we let her know the good news! The main thing is to have a healthy PG though and we'll work it out I'm sure!

PS hello newbies and congratulations Grin
PPS Have already bought quite a few Christmas pressies so Blush might not be too bad for preps...mat leave pre-birth can be spent gently wrapping them all up and writing cards!!

BlueCrane · 14/04/2011 16:55

mousey so sweet of your DS Smile and thanks for the encouragement re testing!

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 14/04/2011 17:21

god the whole christmas EDD thing is stressing me out - my mum, DS, MIL, DIL SIL and Brother all have their birthdays Oct-Dec, it is SUCH an expensive time of year already for us. Never mind, will just have to be more organised

I've been getting a lot of cm as well, glad I'm not the only one!!

xstitch · 14/04/2011 17:24

tbh at te moment I am focusing so much on reaching 12 weeks it could be as late as November by the time I start freaking about Christmas.

plupedantic · 14/04/2011 17:26

Oh, I dunno. A screaming baby will trump any family argument (an Xmas perennial for many households), and being waited on at Christmas time sounds quite appealing! Grin

MickyLee · 14/04/2011 17:27

Hi everyone.

Hope you are not feeling to sick. Congratulations :)

Hope to join you next week if I manage a BFP

waves to everyone from Dec TTC bus

plupedantic · 14/04/2011 17:28

Oh, and the proximity of Christmas just means people won't have to buy Baby two presents (one for being born Hmm and one for Christmas - as if s/he will appreciate it!). So it could be cheaper in the first year (and thereafter, as cheapskates try to combine presents!)

xstitch · 14/04/2011 17:29

Waves back at mickey

I am just hoping the weather is not as bad as last year.

MickyLee · 14/04/2011 17:34

Excuse my terrible grammer

Hope you are not feeling too sick Blush

Poulette · 14/04/2011 17:36

Hello all! Hope you all had a good day today.

Beemybaby thank you for your post, that's really reassured me about the low blood pressure thing. Yours was lower than mine and you were still vertical which gives me hope! I had another dizzy/ shivery spell just before lunch today, but probably due to a loooooooong meeting and some (non-pg?) person booking lunch for 1.30pm, by which point I could have eaten my own arm! Shall have a word with my pa tomorrow who is a GP.

Bluecrane sorry to hear about your nasty doc, get peeing on those tests girl! I got a cheapy from Morrisons actually (£4) and I got a much stronger line than with my FR test so would recommend those (you get two in a pack).

Thanks to you all for your cm comments. As this is all new to me wasn't sure if this was normal. Glad to hear it is. And yes, I seem to spend most of my time going to the toilet to check my knickers at the mo. Lovely habit I've got there!

At least it's Friday tomorrow, and then only four short days until the hols - hurrah!

P.S. Bluecrane I can't believe how organised you are with those pressies - I'm more of a 24-December-and-panic kinda gal. You are my new role model :)

P.P.S. Can I be cheeky and ask how old you all are? Just curious about my new bessie mates! I'm 33 x

Poulette · 14/04/2011 17:38

Hi Micky!

sevenfrustrateddwarves · 14/04/2011 17:41

Blue your GP sounds awful, I'm surprised they even wanted to see your BFP's.

When I was pregnant with DS I was referred to a consultant as I knew there was a genetic condition in my family that I could pass on to him. He couldn't understand why I didn't know if I had it, spoke to me like I was stupid (presumably because I was 21) and didn't seem to know as much about the condition as I did! In fact I had to tell him why I was there as he clearly hadn't even read my notes

xstitch · 14/04/2011 17:59

I have learnt through experience as a patient and as staff to smile sweetly and say 'its there in my notes'

If they say something like 'and why would you think that I say 'well because a,b,c etc.

I sound like the patient from hell Blush. ONe woman crusade for manners from HCPs Blush.

I am 33 too puoulette and in complete denial about my rapidly approaching birthday Grin

wiglovessheep · 14/04/2011 18:06

Hi Everyone
Hope every one is well- apart from horrors at the Docs.
Blue- I can't beleive you Dr was like that,Angry here's me thinking Dr's got into the profession to help people!

As I fell pg on my first cycle after stopping the pill, I've no idea really when I'll be due... I'm seeing my Dr on Monday, so I'm hoping they'll help work it out (although reading through other ppls experiences of Drs I'm now a little nervous!)

I've got a December birthday- 6 days before Xmas. It's quite a good time to be born as most people are in a good mood around that time of year, so all my birthdays are happy memories :) And I was rarely at school on my bday as Xmas holidays had normally started! Grin

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 14/04/2011 18:14

My brother is on 17th Dec, I always felt sorry dir him waiting a while year whereas I got Xmas pressies in December then birthday pressies in may (when i'll be 28 this year....feels a lot older than having ds at 25) Xx

DarciesmumandTTC2 · 14/04/2011 18:33

Thank you for the welcome. I asked DP if he was in a happy mood earlier, asked him to close his eyes and produced the test stick and a beaming smile came across his face - told him he must have super sperm as first month of trying Grin

Reading back a little Blue your dr sounds Shocking. Would have a complain to the Practice Manager.

Xmas is sorted, am saving already and have kept everything from having DD so don't have to get the big things like moses basket, cot, steriliser, bottles, loads of unisex clothes. My mum has a dec birthday so isn't too bad. Will maybe hope for a 39wker baby like DD was so baby will be with us on xmas day :)

I don't have any sickness just consant need to pee. Hope sickness doesn't kick in and escapes me this pregnancy.

Roll on the 12wk mark when we can start telling everyone.
