Raspberry leaf Brew and Biscuit all round.

Continuation from here. No Mofo C bombs yet been dropped in the delivery room although our first 2 babies have arrived. Congrats to gormers and Jo, we hope your little ones are still doing great.

Lis I tend to make up the lasagne and cut it into portions and freeze in portions so you don't have to defrost the whole thing before cooking.

Funnily enough DH asked me last night what I want for my postpartum feast. Last time round I gorged myself silly on stinky cheeses and then DS had the worst screaming fit ever which I think was down to a 5 day old digestive system not coping well with all the cheese. Woops Blush.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 07/04/2011 13:16

Congratulations to Cycle, NANN and Puss!

Puss - guess what? We had our babies on the same day Grin

LisMcA · 07/04/2011 13:48

I've got little foil trays to do individual portions. I'm not going to top with cheese just now, but wait and do a little more white sauce when we are going to eat it. Trial and error with this one me thinks!

I hadn't thought about gorging post partum and baby! Blush selfish mother. I'll play it by ear then, little treatlets every so often rather than a feast.

frakyouveryverymuch · 07/04/2011 14:01

I have irritating bits of wool left to use. It's lovely, lovely wool but probably not enough for anything on its own....

sats1977 · 07/04/2011 14:21

Congratulations Thaney, NotAnother, Cycle, JimmyChoos for your new arrivals, you must be over the moon!

Kittycatcat, Mrs Wajs, Aussie, Jen, thank you for your kind words re our cat, he?s still not showed up unfortunately :( We?ve been doing walking rounds in our neighbourhood every day and calling his name + asking locals if they've spotted him but so far nothing....I also sent some posters to our old house asking the new residents to put them up as I guess there is a chance he'll turn up there, although it's miles away. Doing something, no matter how little or over-optimistic, is making me feel a bit better. What I'm hoping for is that he's just enjoying the warm weather and hunting various little creatures at a nearby lake and is too busy to come home. Since he's chipped, I think we would have been contacted if he'd been run over by a car or something...

Jen, I hope your labour starts soon and you get to miss the induction, will keep my fingers crossed for you!

Frakk, I find it amazing you?re still going to the gym, it makes me faint even thinking about it?a short waddle around the park is most I can manage!

I had another presentation scan yesterday and now have a C/S date for our little breech baby - 20th April when I'm 39 weeks! I'm relieved as I hated not knowing what will happen, I can now concentrate on getting myself ready for the surgery and getting everything that needs to be done sorted before, like spring cleaning!

Interesting fact: I previously mentioned that my twin is also pregnant and only a few weeks behind me. Well, it turns out her baby (boy, like ours Grin ) is also breech Shock...although I'm not sure why I'm surprised, I can't even begin to calculate the amount of times we've had exactly the same thing happened to both of us...but it's still odd, seeing that only something like 3% of babies are in that position.

Incidentally, I'm starting to regret the large chocolate bar I just had, I've been getting the worst indigestion lately, not helped by the fact the baby's (large) head is pressing on my digestive organs constantly and he's just started to wriggle loads...oh well, my own fault...

frakyouveryverymuch · 07/04/2011 14:32

sats my MW told me there's a family link with breech babies to do with maternal pelvic structure. The old wives tale that they run in families seems to actually have some basis.... She says she always asks whether there's a history of breech babies in the mother's family because a lot of the time there is.

sats1977 · 07/04/2011 14:38

Frakk, that might just be it, I'm not sure if there are any other breech babies in the family but will start making enquiries. My sister and I were born naturally despite being twins - they actually had no idea there were two of us in there before the labour - so I feel very sorry for my mother if we were breech as well!

frakyouveryverymuch · 07/04/2011 15:02

Gosh your poor mother!

My mother apparently was transverse and they had to reach inside my grandmother to turn her 'just like you turn a difficult calf' Shock

LisMcA · 07/04/2011 15:07

It's scary to think that when our mothers had us there was nearly half the tests, scans, intervention we have now.

Sats your mum must have pooped her pants after twin 1 popped out, for her to be told one more to come!! Shock That just wouldn't happen now.

frakyouveryverymuch · 07/04/2011 15:11

I would but they're 3 different weights of yarn and I have 3 balls of cashmerino chunky, 2 balls of como and 2 balls of a lovely silk/wool mix so they wouldn't knit together IYSWIM.

LisMcA · 07/04/2011 15:21

Ah I see

Mum asked me if Id bought double knitting wool for her, she got this face Confused

Little scarfs? Mittens? Bootees? PeePeeTeePees? Wank Socks?

JustKeepSwimming · 07/04/2011 15:32

Still got the uncomfy feeling, maybe it will come to something later...

Frak - i'm definitely not up to dashing anywhere.

DH is sorting a new car should get it in 2/3 weeks, yey :)

Now need to sort a new fridge/freezer as ours is dead. And the fusebox just tripped so there is something else dodgy in the house....Confused

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 07/04/2011 15:41

You IRONED your baby clothes Lis? Please don't tell me you iron your bed linen as well Shock

I would love to suggest something for you to knit Frakk, but the truth is I have no idea about knitting Blush

I didn't realise you had a twin who was pg as well sats, how wonderful. I love the story of your joint pregnancies and how you are carrying the same Smile I really hope you cat comes home soon, it's horrible not knowing isn't it?

Congratulations on the safe arrival of Yaseen, Puss. Are you a regular MN'er? I recognise your name I think.

It sounds like your dh is much the same as mine when it comes to work Frakk. He is self employed and also employs others, so not being contactable for 2 weeks of paternity leave isn't really possible. You can also guarantee that we will never have an uninterrupted day on holiday with clients, staff, suppliers etc calling - it drives me up the bloody wall.
When I was actively pushing out ds2 in the birthing pool (the pool was right by an open window with the blind down), I could hear him making sure one of his employees had the right tools in the back of his van. To be fair to dh neither of us really realised quite how imminent ds2 was, but I remember thinking 'will you both just shut the fuck up and piss off' Blush

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 07/04/2011 15:42

oooooh JKS, I'm sure sex helped ds2 along, maybe it's the same for you Grin

What car are you getting?

frakyouveryverymuch · 07/04/2011 15:47

Oh dear ILTMI! DH's face when I told him that there would be no phones in the delivery room was an absolute picture. He can't conceive of not being contactable. I could just see the scenarios running through his head 'so we're likely to be in there for 8+ hours, if there's a pirate attack here then it will hit my desk at this time which will require a response within this much time....'

JKS sorry to hear about the dodgy electrics

Lis think of it as having a square knitted from sewing cotton like you'd sew a button on with and then one from parcel string and one from wool like baby clothes are made from and that's sort of what I'd end up with but chunkier and woolier!

I am not knitting peepeeteepees or wank mittens...EVER.

LisMcA · 07/04/2011 15:51

Can I defend myself here please? :o I don't normally iron, that DH's job, always has been since we moved in together. So ironing baby clothes is a novelty to me. And probably not one I'l repeat unless absolutely necessary. Too fiddly. Plus I also burned my fingers and managed to scorch the ironing board cover. I also gave up trying to iron one of the cot bed sheets because I couldn't pull the elastic taught enough to not add more creases

Hmm I don't feel so motherly now you've got me to admit that!

Can I also mention having been off work since the beginning of February I am bored. I've done things I wouldn't normally do just for something to do! I need this baby to arrive to preserve my sanity!

JustKeepSwimming · 07/04/2011 15:58

Sats - that is v interesting about you & your twin both carrying breech. Is she due at the same time? wonder if you will have them at the same time. (well i suppose if you have ELCS that kind of gets in the way of things a bit)
Also hope your cat comes home, we have 2 and one often goes walkabout. comes back with wounds & scratches, looking rough. No idea where he goes....

We are getting a VW Sharan :) We were trying to get a Seat Alhambra as it's cheaper (but basically the same) but there is a 4month+ wait for those!! We may even get it in 2-3 weeks Grin
Have been waiting on the mobility decision for DS2 to get a motability car, it came through yesterday & DH knows cars are his job so he's been all systems go rather boring about it since :)

Oh and sex definitely helped both boys out so kind of wondering if it will work again this time.
Hopefully not over-sharing, but both previous times we had sex at night, waters broke/labour started in the morning. Sex in the morning maybe = labour starting tonight?

JustKeepSwimming · 07/04/2011 15:59

Although I'm rather enjoying the looks i get when people ask, when are you due, and i say any minute Grin
Imagine their faces when i say yesterday/last week/etc?

LisMcA · 07/04/2011 16:02

Ah I do see now Frak (genuinely I do!). Your DH sound very heroic. Does he swashbuckle the pirates :o! But I get the banning of mobiles! DH has not one but 2 Blackberrys for work that are constantly pinging with emails. If they even come near the labour ward they are going in the pool.

sats1977 · 07/04/2011 16:47

Frakk, oh my, ?like a calf?! I just can?t imagine how it must have been like in the old days & Lis, I?m just so glad we are in the position to get lots of scans and monitoring to avoid all the surprises!

ILTMI Yes it?s so lovely that my sister is pregnant too, it?s almost like our boys will be twins too! We?re very close so I?m sure they?ll be seeing each other lots despite us living in different countries (I?m here in the UK and she?s in Finland).

JKS She?s 34 weeks now so our due dates are pretty close, the CS adds another week though as I?ll be 39 weeks when it?s happening. But then I guess she might have a CS too before 40 weeks if her baby doesn?t turn so we?ll see! Your new car sounds great, enjoy :) We got one too recently as the old one was a coupe model so not very baby friendly!

MrsWajs · 07/04/2011 17:44

Frakk Is there enough wool for a pair of bootees (which it's probably far too hot for where you are!) I got a pair from a friends mum and they are soo cute!

Well I have now been told (by a few friends) that I'm not allowed to take my RLT capsules until my due date - anyone know if this is correct? I was under the impression they helped your uterus contract effectively as opposed to actually starting labour?

BabyWajs seemed to like the tea anyway and started doing a mad dance after 1 cup!! MrWajs is home tomorrow at some point so might indulge in some marital relations also!!

MuffinMouse · 07/04/2011 17:59

Hi all. Popping in again. Reading but not been posting!! Has anyone had babe try and switch to transverse? OUCH! Mine seems to try every other evening. Maybe I just have really rubbish stomach muscles, cause I can't see how it would have enough room. Doesn't seem to stop her though. OMG it hurts!

LisMcA · 07/04/2011 18:19

MrsWajs my MW last week told me to fire on with RLT and the Carly Sage, I'm not due until the 16th. Technically once you reach 37 weeks you are classed as term anyway. If my friends try to tell me not to do something I ask when they got their medical qualification, in jest of course, but it stops them offering unfounded opinions again :o! I've been taking them for nearly 2 weeks now, so if there were super duper at inducing labour I'd have a baby by now!

lucielooo · 07/04/2011 18:25

Mrs Wajs I think you are supposed to get started on the RLT well before your due date (32 weeks I think) - you're right, it's supposed to strengthen the uterine muscles to help with labour rather than actually bring labour on.. here is some more info:

www.babycentre.co.uk/pregnancy/labourandbirth/planningyourbabysbirth/raspberryteaeaselabourexpert/

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 07/04/2011 18:52

I think they say you can take RLT from something like 36 weeks.

I feel knackered today. DS was at pre school this morning and at his Granny's this afternoon, so I've had a day long binge of cleaning and nesting. I've now got sore thighs (?!), low down BH's and stabbing pains in my fanjo - oh joy!

I got lots done though which is good as today was ds's last pre school session before the Easter Holidays, which means I will have to parent FULL TIME for the next 2 and 1/2 weeks

Your dh must be very busy with pirates living where you do Frakk (I used to see lots of Marine Insurance claims come through in my old job). It sounds very exciting, but I should imagine it's not something you're greatly thrilled about at times.
