Raspberry leaf Brew and Biscuit all round.

Continuation from here. No Mofo C bombs yet been dropped in the delivery room although our first 2 babies have arrived. Congrats to gormers and Jo, we hope your little ones are still doing great.

petal I'm planning on the mothercare crossover ones and mothercare nursing vests (my supply of online delivery is limited!) and have them in 2 sizes - 1 set slightly too big for now but wearable as sleep bras and 1 the size above.

That was a tip from a previous client who said that mothercare stuff doesn't last but you only need it for 6 weeks tops and it's cheap and does the job!

jaylar she will realise that she doesn't (am very amused by the penis question though!) but it's perfectly normal for little girls (and boys) to do this. The newborn doll is a great idea. Any reason why she can't have a new swimsuit for the birth pool? Obviously she's not going to be in with you at that moment but there's no harm in a swimsuit!

I am HUGE, even my big granny pants I bought 3 sizes too big are cutting me in half now! Leggings now only sit under my bump, I might just wear nighties between now and birth, sod what the neighbours think!!!

Mum is on her way for the weekend! Her plan was to come and help blitz the house, but DH doesn't like the idea of someone cleaning our house. I listed all the things I wanted done beofre the baby comes and asked him if he would be able to do all that himself (I can't stand for longer than 5 mins now before I'm in serious pain). He doesn't understand why all the skirtings need to be washed or why the windows need to be clean! TBH neither do I, but it needs to be done! He cleaned last night for about an hour and then said, "that'll do for now". Which it would be if I hadn't been in total nesting by proxy mode! And he didn't do it right! I'm not a clean freak so this is all news to him me demanding Monica from friends style cleanliness!

I have nursing vests from Mothercare Petal they are very comfortable just now I can even wear them without a bra and not scare small children! I don't think it is possible for my norks to get any bigger. I was a 38DD before, mat bras are 40FF and are getting a bit nippy. Any bigger and they will need their own postcode!

Grrrrr.... Postie just rang the doorbell, I waddled the whole way there, only for him to say, sorry wrong number the parcels for next door!

38 weeks tomorrow. Come on baby anytime now please?

Just wanted to announce the arrival of baby Amber born at 39+1 on sunday. A very tiny 51b 7oz. She's doing really well and mummy and daddy are over the moon with her.

LisMcA · 01/04/2011 14:45

Congrats Lowra, and welcome to tiny Amber! :o

kittycatcat · 01/04/2011 14:56

Awh congrats Lowra and welcone iccle Amber :)

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 01/04/2011 14:59

Another baby!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations on the safe arrival of your little girl Amber - no pun intended!

Because there is no such thing as tmi on here, I forgot to tell you that last night I gave my nips a squeeze and there was milk. I was so excited I phoned dh (I made an internal call on our landline Blush ) who was downstairs and told him all about it. His reply 'that's nice dear, but why were you squeezing your nipples?' I have no idea why, it just seemed like a good idea at the time!!

I have no advice about your dd Jaylar except she will come to her own conclusion that there isn't a baby in her tummy. I think a baby doll is a good idea, I keep meaning to get one for ds as well.

I've also got to pack a bag for ds depending on when I birth etc etc. I know I'm putting it off because I feel really emotional about it. I've bought him a gorgeous Trunki and matching wash bag, but I know that's all about making me feel better about it Blush. Fingers crossed all will go to plan and the baby will arrive abut 30 minutes before he wakes up for the day Anybody else feeling like this with there older dc? Please someone say yes and make me feel better .......

LisMcA · 01/04/2011 15:04

ILTMIMI I can squirt from my nipples :o! Mainly the right one. I am following Ina May's nipple stimulation technique to induce labour!!

I was quite worried that it wasn't just one hole at first, but a watering can effect. But I have been reliably informed that is normal!!

Thaney · 01/04/2011 15:08

ILTMIMI I had that exact conversation with my DH last night too. It was barely a dribble but I was still excited.

Congratulations lowra.

Only 4 days till my due date and I have an electrician and three builders in my lounge and garage. Plumber is coming monday. Argh! It's a nightmare. I'm going to be begging to stay in hospital at this rate.

kitstwins · 01/04/2011 16:41

Jaylar sounds like you're doing everything right actually - I'd just go with it as your daughter sounds really happy, curious and involved, which is lovely and a good sign of how she'll be once the baby has arrived. My daughters have been asking the 'how did the baby get there?' questions and I think honesty is the best policy not least because I grew up in a medical household. I like the idea of them knowing about a sperm and an egg making a baby. We've always told the girls that they're 'magic babies' as mummy and daddy had to have help from doctors to make them. I think I told them when they were a day old onwards as I always wanted them to know how special they were. Gosh, remembering that is making me feel all misty-eyed.

Lowra congratulations on the birth of baby Amber. Hope all is going well.

I think we're averaging a baby a day now and we're officially in APRIL. It's scary how it was months away and now, suddenly, it's here and we're all finally popping. God. No signs from me. I've had the usual period pains today that come and go but nothing else. Might try Ina May's nipple twidding. Beyond anything else, it's something to do!

BeetleBaby · 01/04/2011 16:46

Hello all,

I've got the squirty nipples here too! Mine are very leaky so it doesn't take much to prompt the watering can effect, every so often DH forgets this and gets a bit of a shock! Grin

Lis I empathise, I've given up on the granny pants and am now wearing DH's boxers, preferably with thick socks and my fleecy dressing gown as nothing else is comfy. Sex on legs or what?! Hmm

I've got sleep nursing bras and the vests with built in support from Mothercare as well. Hopefully I can get away with these for awhile once baby is here then go to get measured for actual bras. It's all rather odd having to put so much thought into bras after years of being a small 32A and usually doing without!

Aussie mine used to do the Alien recreations too, now I just keep getting the odd foot sticking out my side, which during BH isn't all that comfy!

Congratulations Lowra and hello baby Amber Smile

Moan time:
I was up at 4am because of the BH, managed to fall asleep on the Yoda ball for an hour around 6ish but lack of sleep is really catching up with me now. It doesn't feel like I've had a rest from the BH and period like pains for about three/four days, which means I haven't been able to rest or get comfy but they haven't got any more regular, though they are a little stronger than they were. Along with the SPD pain which seems to be aggravating my underlying hypermobility I'm just turing into a grump who is frustrated at not being able to do anything that I think needs doing! (And Lis skirting boards are on my list too...not sure why though!)

Sorry, just needed to vent a little there. Nap time methinks, I feel like a grumpy toddler this afternoon!

NotAnotherNewNappy · 01/04/2011 16:49

Shock At squirty nipples already!

Well done to Lowra and little Amber Smile

Lis Thank you for making me feel better by letting me know you are bursting out of their mat wear too. I have a real paranoia about my top riding up, trousers riding down and revealing my freaky bump. Doesn't help that one of the few remaining tops to fit me has just blown off the clothes horse on my balcony into the permanently locked gardens diwn below.... Grr.

DD1 (2.6) also thinks she has a baby in her tummy. To be fair, it must be confusing as my sis is also pg and all her friends' mums seem to be having babies -so I can't blame her for thinking it happens to everyone! I expect she will forget all about it once the chaos of DD2 arrives.

We are going for Friday tea at Nando's tonight. Shall I go crazy and have the exyra hot piri piri to see if it gets things moving?!

Jaylar · 01/04/2011 16:59

ILTMIMI I feel exactly the same about my daughter. It's a big reason that we've opted for homebirth. I'd worry about her too much if I have to go to hospital. My anxieties are all for her and how she's going to adapt rather than for the new baby. I guess that's normal especially as I don't know the sex of this baby so it doesn't really have an identity yet. In my perfect birth Eden sleep through the entire thing and wake up to say hello to new brother or sister.

Pixipie · 01/04/2011 17:26

Jaylar - whenever I talk about the baby with my DS (2.7) he tells me he has a baby lion in his tummy! He even gets me to listen to his tummy to hear its little roars Grin. Then suddenly one day he announced "it's out! The baby lion is out!" We talked about how it got out (through a door apparently - how I wish it was that easy Wink) and there hasn't been much mention of it since. Every now and again it is back, but always exits again through the door.
I think a newborn doll for your DD is a great idea, something she can look after herself, change nappies etc - my mum wants to buy a goldfish for DS when the baby is born - I am not convinced this is such a good idea, one more thing to panic about keeping alive!!

LisMcA · 01/04/2011 17:30

Just finished prepping dinner for me and mum. DH at his Christmas night out Confused tonight so it's just me and her! yay! I had to sit on the sofa to peel the potatoes as I couldn't stand any longer! But it's all ready to go when she arrives!

I have disinfected the fridge, put all the shelves in the dishwasher as I swear something had died in there. No one else could smell it, but I could! I oipened the freezer to try to organise it a bit better, but a frozen checken fell out on to my foot (ouch) so I'll leave that til later when I have my steel toecaps on!!!

Bump has turned into a bowling ball today, is that a sign of anything do you think??

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 01/04/2011 18:08

Jen - sorry, yes I did forget weight! 9lbs 9oz!! Somewhat relieved that he came out via what my DH refers to as the 'sunroof'!

Petal - I'm wearing Mothercare nursing vests for the moment. My boobs have developed their own gravitational field so don't need any support as such, just something to hold the breast pad to contain the leaks Grin

Congratulations Lowra on baby Amber :)

Petalouda · 01/04/2011 18:18

Wow, Ali, what a good size! Bet you are glad he took the alternate route!

And you're right about the 'gravitational field'! DH has been dispatched to mothercare to buy even-more-massive bras and some nipple shells. My poor nips are taking a battering too now. Really looking forward to seeing the MW tomorrow!

Huge congratulations Lowra x

JustKeepSwimming · 01/04/2011 19:03

Petal - have you been using Lansinoh? can't recommend it enough, even when nipples aren't hurting just to prevent them getting sore.
Also very good for dry lips :)

Lowra - congratulations :)

and Ali - wow a fine weight :)

Lots of BHs here as usual but don't get the feeling anything is really starting anytime soon. Had friends & their DC round this afternoon and they stayed for tea, probably mad as now exhausted but DH has tidied the toy chaos and boys nearly in bed so can collapse now.

Cyclebump · 01/04/2011 19:58

Babies everywhere again! Congratulations on all new arrivals and it sounds like mummies are doing well, which comforts me as a first timer.

Was out seeing my sister yesterday and camped out where my mum's staying today so that DP could get some serious house stuff done. He's now cleared the loft space ready to put his office up there and out of what will be the nursery. Mum is staying at a friend's house while they're on holiday so I used the opportunity to cook and have made two cottage pies, six portions of chilli and a pasta bake for the freezer.

Last night my mum made an extra lasagne when she made dinner and that's for our freezer too so we are finally stocked up!

Am getting fed up now though, am tired and emotional all the time and baby is making me seriously uncomfortable when he rolls around. I just want to sleep Sad

Roll on Monday as that's my due date.

1stTimeMother · 01/04/2011 22:28

Congratulations Lowra and welcome to Amber! hope you're both doing well.

It really is all go on here now. I'm 37 weeks today - saw midwife & she said baby's head is "well down" in my pelvis... but I don't feel like it's dropped... not sure what to think. Still getting so many movements and punches - even got a headbutt in the bladder whilst in the gym this morning. I think my gym days are pretty much at an end. Can't decide between panic (being 1st timer...) at what's coming and wanting baby to arrive now!

Anyway, just wishing everyone a very happy weekend. Big hugs to all new mummies and babies and lots of luck to those who may have imminent arrivals...

Petalouda · 01/04/2011 23:35

JKS - thanks! I've been all over the Lansinoh!

And 4 new bras (thanks DH!), some expressing and a good old cluster feed this evening and I am soooo much more comfortable!

Think today has been the baby blues day - I've been up & down like a rollercoaster! Feel brilliant this evening though!

This baby business is bizarre isn't it!

Here's hoping for more baby announcements tomorrow Grin x

kitstwins · 02/04/2011 13:27

Wow, first new message of the day. Does this mean everyone else apart from me is off giving birth??!!

Found myself googling natural induction methods last night (nipple twiddling, curry, pineapple, stairs, etc., etc.) and having applied some of them last night I've decided today to STEP AWAY from old wives' tales. I've still got four days until my 'due date' so I'm not even overdue yet and I think it will just end up making me more stressed and on edge with anticipation. And frustrated when nothing happens. Did some nipple twiddling last night and yoda ball rolling and nothing really changed and it made me realise that until the baby is ready, it's not going to move. And seventy five pineapple cores and a vindaloo is not going to change that. So I've decided to create my own natural induction method which will be to lie on the sofa eating chocolate eclairs and feeling happy (to be fair, the three activities go pretty much hand in hand in my book). I think it could catch on.

Petal glad all the feeding has helped things settled. You'll be flying now and, just think, you're through those first few days.

Cyclebump · 02/04/2011 13:42

Loving your home methods Kits!

I wish I'd been off giving birth. Have been off on another thread having a mega moan after a meltdown this morning. Flat a tip, kitchen still not done, nothing clean, not slept properly for days blah blah blah. Had a proper full-on sob and then had a bath and felt better.

Come on baby, mummy needs a cuddle with a squidgy baby to make her feel better. Oh well, will snuggle Mr Handsome in the meantime.

kittycatcat · 02/04/2011 13:43

Still here with you kits...but i do have just under 4 weeks to go.... :(

BeetleBaby · 02/04/2011 13:45

Don't worry Kits we've not abandoned you!

I've spent the morning pottering round trying to distract myself as I've had pretty regular pains since around 2am and don't want to over think things. Suffice to say I'm knackered after hardly sleeping and I'm now quietly settled on the yoda ball, watching the football and eating macaroni cheese (ahh the joys of comfort food, though the eclairs sound just as appealing!).

SnapFrakkleAndPop · 02/04/2011 13:46

Still here thankfully but on iPhone so was waiting to do a proper update as this thread is getting to the 'too long to be easy' point!
