Tinwe: take it easy when you can! Our bodies do tell us when it's enough don't they! Sometimes would be nice to have a happy medium rather than fine or flat out!

Departure was totally unexpected my friends where told on Tuesday and went Thursday and BIL told he would not be going then call last night when we where at the party and went to sea today. I have uncles in the army been in different conflicts but this just seams to be a crazy thing and I don't understand it.

Cazzr: I know what you mean about bump size and can feel myself sticking it out more so correcting myself before I break my back!!

Think I must be in nesting/housewife mode for the first time ever as currently reading a cookbook to work out what I can cook for DH later in the week once he finished nightshifts. Big test will come tomorrow when he is bed til 3pm and I should be getting up!

Sorry iPad doesn't seam to have the brackets to do a nice linky but I think I am going to get this TENS from Lloyds

www.lloydspharmacy.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=1008&storeId=90&productId=322651&langId=-1&parent_category_rn=&top=&top_category=&fromPage=Search&hotspot_prefix=

It's only £29.99 so about the same as a hire charge

pistachio - I hope you are feeling less sick. I am sick all the way through when pregnant, and find I totally go off food. Brushing my teeth every morning makes me sick (joy). I have been better this time around than with DD, but still generally rubbish.

For those not finding out the sex, it is pretty cool finding out on the day.

Loopy - hope you are feeling less tired, and if you are, what is the magic secret to it, I keep nearly nodding off at my desk. I blame the fact the office is hot.

However, despite feeling sick and tired, I have spring cleaned!! I now have a sparkly clean and tidy bathroom, a glowing kitchen with very organised cupboards, my bedroom is spotless (and I have put in the crib for the baby, and put the baby clothes away ready for use), my living room looks huge now I have cleared away all the crap (frankly, it did look like we'd been burgled). All floors have been hoovered, cleaned, washed and scrubbed. Every inch has been polished, there really is just the windows to do now. DH has even mown the lawn. I do feel a lot better having sorting it all out, tired, but at least now I'm not panicking that the house is a mess and I'll lose the baby under a pile of old clothes (given I sent six huge black bags of my clothes to charity on Saturday). I have also packed my hospital bag. I now feel I can focus on the upcoming work at the office (year end and audit).

Knackered though!!

meant to add re finding out on the day - DD was born by section, so there was no surprise about when she was arriving, but we hadn't found out the sex, so it was going to be a nice surprise on the day. The midwife sitting next to me said they were just cleaning "him" up and would bring "him" to me when clean. I turned to DH all misty eyed, and said "aw, our little son..." DH looked all confused, and a few moments later asked whether the baby was a boy or a girl, and hey presto, was a girl!!

Hello everyone, sorry I've not posted for a while, I've been keeping up on my phone but I hate typing on it so wait till I'm at an actual computer to post!

Elf I'm in awe of your organisation! That's how I want to be and I'm feeling all twitchy that the house isn't sorted and the baby's room isn't done and the baby clothes are still up in the loft etc.

Unfortunately my ability to sort everything out is being hindered by the need to finish doing some DIY stuff first that I'm dependent on DH doing - he's trying, bless him, but he has limited time and everything takes longer than it should! We spent about 3 hours yesterday just trying to install the blackout blind in the baby's bedroom and the stupid thing still isn't up (I think it's faulty grrr)...

Cazzr glad you are generally feeling a bit better about everything.

Sorry to those who have started feeling sick again (or have never stopped).

Ilove have your pains gone away now?

I've got a scan tomorrow morning and a MW appointment tomorrow afternoon. THe scan is the one they scheduled to check my placenta had moved up - they thought it had already at my 4D scan in early Feb, so I'm assuming that should be ok and just need the NHS to agree! It'll be interesting to see what position the baby's in too, as she was breech and I think she's been oblique recently - but my bump seems to have dropped suddenly in the last couple of days and there's been a lot of wriggling, so I think she may have changed position. I should also get my up to date iron levels confirmed by the MW tomorrow. So between the placenta, the baby's position and the iron levels, I should have a better idea by tomorrow evening whether a homebirth is on the cards or not...

Re bump size I actually measured the circumference of mine for a laugh yesterday (DS was playing with a tape measure at the time) and was somewhat stunned to discover my "waist" is now 4ft round!

jbells rollercoaster cazzr tinwe cowboylover -- Smile thank you for your concern. The midwife thinks it was severe Braxton Hicks, although I've never had them that low down before? Seems to be OK now.

Spent most of the day potty training DS. Some successes. Some failures, and called it a day around 3pm.

So, what do we think of Sophia as a name? Is it really popular? I'm also liking Elizabeth with Betsy as a nickname.

I haven't logged in for the last few days so couldn't reply Loopymumsy. Been busy shopping for LO after hearing that she may arrive early as early as in next two weeks. I went for a scan last week after I noticed reduced movements. Doctor has asked me to count at least 10 movements (which I think is general advice). I couldn't even count 10 in day. My LO doesn't show many movements, hiccups and a few swirls. I am 32 weeks 4 days now. I am not if other people feel just swirls and flutters at this of pregnacy, most of the people I have spoken to keep talking about how many kicks abnd nudges they feel in a day.

I went for a CTG followed by a scan. Both the scan and CTG showed that the baby is active and also showed loads of movements. But I only felt a couple of movements. In the scan they found out that one of the arteries in the umblical is narrow which the doctor thinks can affect the growth of the baby. Hence I have been put on weekly scans now. I am still concerned for the well being of my LO.

ooh, co-sleeping - something I've only just really begun to consider (reading "The Food of Love" Kate Evans)
www.thefoodoflove.org/breastfeed-in-your-sleep.htm

My mum bought us a cot & mattress & bedding for it- still needs assembling but the more I think about it the more alien I think it will feel to put a tiny little baby inside ... not mentioned owt to DH about it yet...

Sorry to hear about your concerns Nuttym. I start worrying everytime my little one has a quiet day so it must have been really scary for you. Good that they are now monitoring you weekly - I'm sure that means it will be fine now that they've picked it up. My friend had an early emergency c-section with her little girl when they found the baby had suddenly stopped growing and now she has the most active and intelligent 8 year old

Elf: good going on all that cleaning! I am in impressed and trying to be motivated with it!

Rollercoaster: Hope all goes well tomorrow and you can get the home birth you.

I had to grab the measure and I am 4th around now as well!

Ilove: I really like Sophia and don't think it's common at all as I dont know of any.

Nutty: sorry that must be a really scary time for you all so I am glad they are looking after you well so fingers crossed for you x

Really uncomfortable today and started to leak so went to the hospital for a check up to make sure my waters had not broken and turns out I have an infection and thrush so very lady like on the sofa with my leg draped over the back!!! It's typical my usual little wiggler had not moved all day and 5 mins after being in the monitor she started. The staff there where all so friendly and nice it really gives me confidence for when I'm in labour they will look after.us well. It's a small hospital so I am starting to get to know them all and keep wondering which one will be delivering our
little girl. Smile

Hi all,
Am wide awake, DD and DH (day off) snoring upstairs so am enjoying the peace for a little MN time :)

elf good going on the cleaning! I am impressed.

Nesting has definitely kicked in here - made DH get all the baby stuff out of the attic and have washed and dried all the littlest clothes. Am pleased to see that out of all the newborn/0-3 mo stuff we only have 3 pink things so if this one is a boy we're sorted!

Ilove glad all is ok. A friend off my old A/N thread has a Sophia born at almost the same time as my DD. She is just THE most adorable little thing so a great name in my opinion.

cowboy glad you are ok too and that you are feeling confident about your hospital.

nutty fingers crossed for you too - glad you are being monitored.

Hello to totoros love your username btw.

loopy we coslept with DD from about 6 weeks after trying and failing to get any sleep any other way. Will be doing it from the word go with this one. We had Duvet tucked under the mattress at the bottom of the bed so we couldn't pull it up and then both DH and I slept in long sleeve pj tops - I bought somethat buttoned down the front (grandad style as I like to call them) and wore a vest top as well to keep tummy warm. Then could basically pop out a boob when needed. Summer 2009 was pretty hot so we never got too cold. DD had nothing over her and was either in vest and sleepsuit or just a sleepsuit depending on the weather. She went in gro-bag for the first time when we went camping at 10 weeks (sleeping bags and cosleeping work really well for other camping fans!) and then when she started sleeping in her cot at 6mo. Worked brilliantly for us and we were annoyed with ourselves for listening to our HV (who has since turned out to have been pretty rubbish in other ways too). There is a WHO leaflet about it which has all the standard advice.

kiwi glad you had a good hol and it helped your aches and pains too :)

tinwe you sound so busy - we moved at 30 weeks last time and I found it so hard not to do anything. I became expert at painting skirting boards because it involved sitting on the floor :o

jbells am also panicing about the 2yo/newborn combo especially since tantrums have kicked in big time here at nearly 22 mo Shock pistachio and loopy three good friends of mine have just about 3y age gaps and seem to be coping v well, the older ones seem to like helping entertain the lo's a lot.

Cazzr how are you doing this week?

Right, that's my memory exhausted for now. Hello to everyone else!

I've got a scan later today to check this one's growth. Am hoping all looks ok as I've started to get excited about the poss of not being induced and doing it all normally :) Have even been considering HB as an option (would certainly make life a lot easier with DD and family support several hours away) but am not convinced in my own ability to do it tbh. Will wait and see what this scan says and go from there I think.

Ooh, just remembered on the movement front - this one seems to have mad busy days then a quieter one and just as I'm getting worried it kicks off (literally) again. I think its part of running out of room but also depends which way it is facing as I think a lot might be directed into my back.

Right, going to put kettle on and have some breakfast as still no sign of waking up from the sleeping beauties :o

Nutty fingers crossed for you.
Rollercoaster hope all goes well today.
Ilove Sophia is lovely, we too have chosen Elizabeth as a middle name, its my sis's name but she actually uses her middle name IYKWIM. We've settled on Charlotte as a first name, Charlie for short, that is provided LO is a girl, we were told at 20 week scan it looked like. Hope the're right as even though i've not done the pink thing i have bought some dresses and have ordered curtains with butterflies and dragon flies on for the babies room.

I'm typing this whilst having a break from ironing LO's clothes and sorting out space for them in the spare room, trying not to do too much in one go as I felt lousy at the weekend, having done loads backend of last week, really big and uncomfortable, with killer heartburn. But after a bit better sleep the last 2 nights i'm feeling good again, the sunshine definitely helps.

So as you can see nesting has kicked in here too, have had new bearings fitted in the washing machine this morning, it had got really noisy so hopefully it will keep going for a while now, off to a new dentist this afternoon, making the most of my week off work. HmmI was hoping to use my leave before my maternity started but i have to take it in the current holiday year, ie before the end of april so off this week, which is when we'd normally be on our main hols as its our wedding anniversary on sat and i've got another week at the end of april, then i'm planning to start maternity 4 days before my due date, if i feel ok.

Sorry for the long post back to the ironing now.
