Ses-
Sorry to hear that the bleeding re started. How do you feel in yourself?
Are you going for the scan on Monday with NHS now?

Re DS sleeping, sounds like your approach is good- agree with Diege about not taking him from the room, think the parents bed thing is a slipperly slope-IMO anyway :)

Tink- thinking of you re your DD1 concerns

Diege- great news on VBAC! Is the mw that suggested the Csect the one you don?t like?

Hi Star- meant to say, glad you AF showed up in the end. I bet that has confused your phone app somewhat. When you say mixed feelings on Pg, do you think you want another one now?

GingerbreadGiraffe · 20/05/2011 08:34

what is a slipperly slope?
lol

hotcrossSES · 20/05/2011 08:37

Morning all! Bleeding seems to have just about stopped over night. Just a bit of brown stuff when I wipe. Working from home today which I think is best and I do actually have loads of stuff to catch up on so will be quite useful in that respect too.
Tomorrow DH is away at the rugby in Cardiff and I'm meant to be working in the morning (DS going to one of his nursery workers for a few hours) and then DS and I are at a wedding reception. Really hope I don't get any more bleeding and then I just need to worry about Monday's appointment!

Thanks for advice on DS sleeping. All his teeth are through so I think Bumps is right and that it's a separation thing ever since what I presume was a nightmare. Once he's asleep, he's sleeping through ok but it's just the distraught cries when he actually gets put in his cot. The last 2 nights it's only been 20mins of crying but it's very distressed crying. We've gone in after 5-10mins and given him a cuddle and then put him back in his cot and he's been just as bad so we've left him until he settles and goes to sleep.

Sorry - lots of rambling there!

Right I'd better go and get my work laptop out and do something constructive. Hope everyone else is well today and thanks again for all your support - it really helps.

hotcrossSES · 20/05/2011 08:39

Morning Giraffe!

hotcrossSES · 20/05/2011 08:41

Yes - just going to hang on for NHS scan on Monday.
Oh and we only brought DS into our bed that one night he had the nightmare. I guess we'll have to have a strategy for if that happens again though. You don't always think straight at 3.30am!

Diege · 20/05/2011 08:50

That sounds quite positive about the bleeding SES. I know each case is different but yours does seem similar to mine this time - pink/red for 2 days then brown (which lasted a few days). The mw at the epu thought it might be a blood vessel bursting which is very common around this time when things are softening up.
Hi GING! Yes, mw is the one I don't like (in fact she pretty much is the only cmw, so am stuck with her). She is classic passive aggressive. Towards the end of my last pregnancy she thought I had polyhydramnios (sp?) (which I didn't, consultant confirmed..) and told me 'hmmm yes, this can indicate fetal abnormalities, but you should be ok. You had the triple test didn't you? No??? Oh dear...' Just what you need to hear eh!
Oh and dd3 is now walking with a walking stick, so very relieved. We are still housebound, but ocado vand due here any min so we won't starve!

LaTourEiffel · 20/05/2011 08:58

Morning, very quick check in to see how you are doing Ses, good to hear you've got plans and also that things seem to be calming. Sending lots of positive vibes.

Must scoot but will try to be back later x

tinkbig · 20/05/2011 09:13

morning great news ses
thanks diege

bumpsnowjustplump · 20/05/2011 10:37

Ses I dont think bringing ds into your bed is bad I co slept with ds until he was 14 months and both my children know my bed is an open bed if they wake in the night and I often find both of them in there in the morning when mark goes to work (I think he wakes them slightly so they stir but dont fully wake so they just trudge through to our bed and climb in).. I dont mind that at all my only thing is they MUST go to sleep in there bed. What ever happens in the night or early morning is fine!! Both mine are such good sleepers (I have to wake them up in the morning most mornings to get jessica to preschool) so cant be that bad can it??

So glad the bleeding has stopped fingers still crossed for you.

Busy bee here today trying to fit 18 months of college work into the 4 months I have left before ml.... eak..

hotcrossSES · 20/05/2011 11:54

Thanks again for all your kind words.

Diege - I really hope it's a similar type of bleed to yours IYKWIM. Still ok at the moment so FX.
Glad your DD3 is getting more mobile and also meant to say great news on potential VBAC!

Bumps - 18mo of work into 4mo??! Good luck wonderwoman!

LaTour - thanks for the positive vibes

cantmummyhaveabreak · 20/05/2011 16:44

Ses, will be thinking of you all weekend... Glad to hear the bleed has stopped tho.

Diege- just confirming for tomorrow, glad to hear dd3 is more mobile. Ds & dd1 had been worried she'd not be able to do anything at US. Will see you in the station about 10ish in the morning! :)

Starshinetiger · 20/05/2011 17:00

Been lurking today - glad to hear bleeding has stopped Ses - fingers crossed for Monday.
Enjoy your trip tomorrow Diege and Can't.
Thanks for comments re. AF Giraffe. I had always thought I'd have 3 DC, but 2 DC later, both with food intolerances and DD with her complication puts a different spin on things. Lots of the time I'd love another, but my head knows DH would need to be 100% behind it too and he isn't. I am very glad to have 2 healthy DC, to be blessed with a boy and a girl, so am focussing on that. I do wonder if once you have DC whether the broodiness ever goes away completely?! So, with that to ponder on, enjoy the weekend all.

Diege · 20/05/2011 17:45

Hello! See you tomorrow at Limestreet, 10ish CANT. Looking foirward to it! Dd3 will have her walking stick with her but is improving by the hour so should be able to be pretty mobile.
STAR, looking at people who have 5, 6 even more dcs I don't think the broodiness ever does really go, you just have to reach a place in your head that you can live with I suppose? No.4 was def my last, but a combination of becoming 40 and thinking it's my last shot, along with a yearning just for 'one more' made me ttc again. I think I have been incredibly lucky to get pregnant this time. I'm on a 40 plus thread and the odds aren't that great. I don't think I will have another after this one, on both a mental health and physical basis!
SES, look after yourself this weekend x How are you feeling now? Thinking of you and all the best for Monday xxx

hotcrossSES · 20/05/2011 17:54

Diege and Cant - enjoy your mini meet-up tomorrow :)

Star - I think that broody feeling probably doesn't go. I think I may have to get ready to face that as I DH has said a few times he thinks we should just have 2.

Well I've taken it fairly easy today but managed to get a few things done for work and around the house. Still no more bleeding but also a distinct lack of my pg symptoms I had been getting earlier in the week. Will just have to wait for Monday!

tinkbig · 20/05/2011 20:42

cantmummyhaveabreak · 21/05/2011 19:49

Evening... Meet-up with diege & family was fab, kids had a great time and are worn out... DH just putting them all to bed now. Have got a few pics to put on fb over the next few days hopefully.

Got back to blackpool before the shops shut so had s mad dash to debenhams to see if they had a coat for myself and ds, managed to get us both one for just over £40, bit of a bargain, and 2 happy bunnies!

hotcrossSES · 22/05/2011 08:42

Morning!

Diege & cant - glad you had a good meet-up :)

tink - hamsters sound great! When do you think you will get them? DH has put my old rabbit hutch together and keeps talking about getting another rabbit. I'm not so sure as when I had one before it was before I knew DH and hence before dogs!

In the end, I had a good day yesterday. Woke up feeling all sorry for myself and emotional but really enjoyed the wedding reception O and I went to in the afternoon (DH was at the rugby in Cardiff). They had a live band playing outside in a pub garden all afternoon with a spit roast and wonderful food. DS kindly slept for an hour as the food appeared so I managed to enjoy it and then he had plenty of the left overs when he woke up.

The only awkward moment was this: there were quite a few people from church there. I know a lot of people at church but wouldn't really classify any of them as really close friends. Anyway, this one lady who I know through the music group (who is lovely but I've never really had the opportunity to get to know her properly) came up to me and asked if I was pg Shock I didn't really know how to respond and then my hesitation made it more complicated than simply saying "no". I took her to one side and explained briefly what was going on and she was so apologetic for asking. I told her not to worry and it had at least given me the opportunity to ask her for prayers. It was really awkward as she realised she should never have asked in the first place but she was so apologetic and supportive that in the end I didn't mind.

Anyway, this morning there is still no more bleeding and I'm feeling pretty nauseous so hopeful without trying to get my hopes up too much IYKWIM!

Diege · 22/05/2011 10:23

Morning! Great day yesterday as CANT says - dds and especially ds, were very tired when we got home too Grin. Looking forward to seeing the piccies - will you out up on wagon fb site? They are already asking about the dreaded waterworld, so we must fix up a date Smile
SES, I think you handled the situation with the church lady admirably. It's also really good that you are feeling some nausea today - what time is your scan tomorrow?
Hamster sounds great TINKS. I have had a few over the year, the last one who lasted 4 years. The vet was really amazed and took photos of him, as he went bald and wrinkly but still had a great quality of life.
Quiet day planned today - me and dh both have 'work' work to do, so will be taking it in turns with the dcs. Must also try and get some stuff shifted on ebay!

hotcrossSES · 22/05/2011 13:06

And the rollercoaster continues.... Just started bleeding again. Not very much (although more than just spotting) but horrendous cramps that I can hardly walk with. I've just come up to bed to try and rest.

Diege · 22/05/2011 13:49

Oh SES, you poor thing Sad Make sure you get as much rest as possible, and take something if you can for the pain xxx Will check back later to see how you are doing.

tinkbig · 22/05/2011 20:20

GingerbreadGiraffe · 23/05/2011 07:21

Morning all

Ses- sorry to hear things are so up and down. Despite the church converstation potentially being really difficult, you really did respond well. Sounds like a lovely lady.

Fingers crossed for the scan today- what time is it?

BTW, didnt meant to imply there was anything wrong in taking DS into bed- I was just saying that for me, its not the right answer. Hope I didnt offend you. x

Diege- w/e sounds good.

Star- I can understand your mixed feelings comments now. I totally agree in the thinking that the broodiness just never goes away - as long as there is an option. I know 3 DCs arent possible so I am kind of not looking fwd to going for a potential 2nd knowing it might be the last, iykwim. Thats what women are designed for!!!

Hi tink, and everyone

hotcrossSES · 23/05/2011 08:37

Scan is at 9.50am. Yesterday's bleeding is now just spotting. Did a HPT this morning and got a BFP. I know that's not a clear indication but it's given me a bit of hope.
Got routine blood test for my thyroid at 9am so I'm just off to that and then meeting DH at the hospital.
I'll try and post an update when I can.

Oh and Giraffe, you didn't offend me at all (don't think you or any of the wagoners could!)

cantmummyhaveabreak · 23/05/2011 09:16

Morning,

Ses- got everything crossed for a positive scan. Will try and lurk thru the day.

V.tired this morning... Think the busy weekend tired me out as I slept straight thru!
