Men indeed.
I hope you're ok, it does sound really creepy. Is there anyone who could stay with you for a while or are you braver than me alright? You don't suppose it was anything to do with fuckturd do you? Has he taken all his stuff?
Have a good walk, you'll sleep well tonight Grin

Fab123 · 20/04/2011 18:20

I was a bit freaked out tbh. I've spoken to my neighbours and told them so they are on the alert and they kindly said if I needed anything or wanted to call them in the night to feel free. I don't like to bother people though. I'll be fine. Anyone breaking in has my hormonal angst to greet them Grin

Oh and Fucktard has his stuff, minus a pair of scruds and socks, so I don't think he'd be sending anyone out for those!

I ate 5 fruit splits (Sainsbury's 8 for £1.25!!!) so not sure the walk was a "healthy" option! Wink

Scottygirl10 · 21/04/2011 22:51

Hmmm, appear to have a raised whelk (sp?) like area on my breast which is quite itchy? Any ideas?! X

buttonmoon78 · 22/04/2011 07:59

Do you get hayfever scotty? I get itchy skin all over from hayfever. Or you could be experiencing a reaction from some latex or something in your bra? Your skin changes so much during pg that it could well be something you've never experienced before.

Fab sounds like you're having a particularly fun time at the mo! Though the fruit splits must help, obviously...

On that note, Aldi ice creams come with a high recommendation from me. They're dead cheap and rather nice. I bought some calippo style ones yesterday but strawberry flavoured and they were lovely.

I've not read back past this page so I hope everyone's ok.

confuddledDOTcom · 22/04/2011 08:51

Hello people, very sorry I've not been posting Blush please forgive me Smile I've mostly been mobile so it's hard to follow a proper conversation on here then when I am online there's too much to catch up with and I'm so tired lately I'm falling asleep at the computer. I'm going to catch up this weeks posts a bit later I think.

Things are going OK here, still on fortnightly scans as they've found a notch in each uterine artery which means the baby is at risk of IUGR so we've gone from cervical length scans to Doppler flow scans. I had another scare at the weekend as you may have seen around. Started to have regular tightenings Friday night, was registering on the CTG but they weren't doing anything so they kept me in for steroids which took two nights to do. Back home on Sunday afternoon. This does mean that when I actually go into labour they won't stop it so she will come when she comes now. Still getting tightenings although there doesn't seem to be a pattern to them at the moment and not too often.

Totally fed up with the PGP. There seems to be degenerative spine disease too and the doctor thinks something is pressing on my sciatic nerve and cutting the feeling off to my one leg as everything about that leg makes it feel like a prosthetic - numb and doesn't work properly.

Apart from falling apart and tightenings it's pretty quiet here! OH comes home next weekend but we're going to meet him down there on Friday and have a long weekend holiday.

confuddled glad to hear all is well at the moment.

I am having weekly scans at moment as fluid level around baby is lower than it should be, they noticed last week at my 28 week scan and had one this week and other booked for next week and if it continues to be low then they will monitor me once a week with scans to check baby is still ok and any decrease in movement I need to go in. Baby is moving lots so not really worried, just a pain with weekly scans as live 45 minutes from the hospital. But better be safe than sorry. At my 28 week scan I am sure when looking between the legs, baby is really low and head down that I didn't see anything between the legs. After having a private scan at 16 weeks and NHS scan at 20 weeks saying it was a boy. So private scan said that would re scan me free of charge. Better not be wrong as bought lots of boy stuff.
Will keep you informed private scan is next saturday. You would think with all the nhs weekly scans I would see but baby is so much bigger now it is hard to make out anything.

Fab, what a scare you must of got with that women outside your home.
Scotty no idea, but maybe allergic reaction to something.

Eglu · 22/04/2011 13:23

Hi everyone. I've not been on for a while as I've been really exhausted and not sleeping.

Fab, flapjacks sound great for labour. I don't have time for eating stuff as I have really fast labours but may make some for afterwards.

Confuddled, glad you are doing okay if not great, hope that you can hang on a while longer.

I have the most horrendous heartburn, my mw got me a prescription for peptac, which so far hasn't helped. I may need to take more of it. I would really love some sleep.

I also now have a cold which doesn't help, so today I've decided to wash all my newborn clothes to cheer me up. They are so little, I forget how tiny the stuff is. I'm now wondering how enormous DS1 and DS2 are going to look when the baby gets here.

I've also made a list of the stuff I need to get for the baby. I haven't bought anything like nappies and stuff yet, so decided I want to be organised. I suddenly had this thought that I'll be 30 weeks on Tuesday so I should get some stuff sorted.

sues1974 · 22/04/2011 22:16

Evening ladies,
FAB - sorry to hear youve had some strange going ons. Confuddled - sorry to hear youre falling apart but good that baby is hanging on in there.
Ive got opposite problem to you Mitch, ive got polyhydromnisis (or something like that) which basically means ive got too much amniotic fluid. I had a growth scan on monday which showed this so they want me back in 3 weeks time. i wasnt too worried as the dr said hed prefer too big a swimming pool to a too small a one but having now read up on it im quite worried. can be a sign of downs, thats the baby cant swollow or that the baby has problems with its kidneys (i suffered Kidney failure as a child). can also be seen when having twins - im not or if you have gestational diabetis - i have already been tested and havnt. just really hoping now that it hasnt got worse when i go back and is just a case of having more fluid. It does at least explain why i look further on than i am - now have a proper excuse as opposed to the fact ive been eating too many sweets.
ive also developed a hernia, have a nice lump above my belly button.

Other than that all is well, get the odd twinge of heartburn but nothing too bad. cant believe i'll be having my baby 10 weeks on monday - its going so quickly.
sues xx

buttonmoon78 · 22/04/2011 23:38

Hi confuddled - glad you're ok. I'm reckoning you must be about 28/29 weeks so feeling like you're on less shaky ground if your girl decides to make an appearance? I'm hoping she stays put a good while yet, but every day she does must surely be a good thing. Must be good to know your dh is on his way home too.

Sues & Mitchell I hope everything's ok with you too, I'm sure the scans will show nothing's wrong, but babies do like to keep you on your toes don't they?!

Eglu I too have horrid heartburn. I try to eat earlier in the evening but then I'm starving by bed time and end up eating something I shouldn't. Like tonight. I might have just wolfed 7 or 8 (I'm too ashamed to count) Lindor balls. I'm so going to suffer when I lie down. That's why I'm still here - I'm too frightened to lie down!

confuddledDOTcom · 23/04/2011 00:01

I'll be 29 weeks on Monday. Hanging in for the magic 3X weeks when things really start to pick up but definitely at a good stage now, especially with the full course of steroids.

Really looking forward to OH coming home for good (ha! He went for 6-8 weeks when #2 was a baby and spent 3/4 of her life away so far) and being able to go home! Mum's been going over to mine to tidy up as we've not been in for 6 months and it's amazing how tipped up you can get when you don't live there. Things being hunted for/ dumped there, fishtank been neglected whilst the electricity has been going on and off (ditto fridge/freezer!) I can't stand for long and I can't get to the floor easily so I can't do much to get the place sorted.

Want2bSupermum · 24/04/2011 00:50

confuddled great to hear you are nearing 30wks. It isn't easy being pregnant on your own. DH travels a lot and is craming in as many trips between now and July as he can. Our town had a problem with water so I was advised to only drink bottled water until further notice. I can't carry a crate of water myself and with all my appointments I leave the house at 6.40am sharp. The supermarkets here deliver from 7am-7pm which are the hours I am out of the house. The supermarkets are great here as they load my car up for me and I ended up asking a neighbour to help me carry in the heavy stuff. I have been doing my exercises at work because sometimes I get stuck. The dog can't exactly haul me up!

I reached 30 weeks today. It is a little scary that we could have a little baby in as little as 6 weeks. I am totally exhausted and slept for 3 hours this afternoon. Work is still crazy because I have exams to do between now and the end of May. I really can't go into labour before May 28th as that is when I have my last exam. Thank goodness it is Memorial day that weekend as DH and I plan to do all of our shopping for the baby on the Monday morning. We have our baby shower the weekend before but we don't expect anyone to get anything for us.

Twit · 25/04/2011 09:40

It's good to see you again confuddled am keeping my fingers crossed for you all.
I suppose I should start thinking about getting an emergency hospital bag together? Just in case babytwit decides to be too early for a homebirth/not move/be difficult. I am also looking at baby changing facitilties, I'm leaning towards the ikea hemnes drawer with changing top on it. ALthough that will still mean I need to sort out where to bathe babytwit (at least until my back is stronger again) I suppose the kitchen sink would do though... hmmmmm
I just can't be arsed though.... you know what I mean? It 's not really time yet so no snese of urgency.
Ooh babytwit will no longer have to sleep in a drawer, my friend brought her old moses basket round and it is leering at me in the living room at the moment as there is no-where for it to go upstairs at the moment. DH is deperate for us to move back into the 'master bedroom' (the three ds's are in it at present) before babytwit gets here,(is he nesting?) I think he is meaning to do it this week (he has the week off). This will mean dd and ds3 sharing the second bedroom (I think) and DS1 & 2 sharing the third (smallest). Paint will be involved.
I feel faint at the thought....
ANd that darn moses basket keeps looking at me funny.

buttonmoon78 · 25/04/2011 11:15

Grin at Twit!

I know I posted it somewhere but can't remember if it was here or not... after #3 when my back was dreadful, I used to put my baby bath on the loo (lid & seat up) and fill it with a jug from the tap. You can kneel on a folded towel to save your knees and bathe baby. Then, when all's clean, simply pull the plug. As long as you're lined up, the water will go straight down the loo. Hey presto, no lifting required Smile

Another lovely day here. Just mowed the grass and planted some more seeds. Now catching up with essential stuff, then off to tackle DS's bedroom. I also feel slightly faint at the thought...

Might put it off for a bit whilst I copy some music onto cds for the dds. Although Tinie Tempah and Wiz Khalifa have a similar effect TBH. I must be getting old Confused

SpannerPants · 25/04/2011 11:20

Hi everyone, hope you're all having a relaxing long Easter weekend!

We had a bit of a scare with Bob yesterday, he usually wakes me up at about 6.30am and moves like crazy whenever I eat/drink anything, but yesterday he only moved a couple of times and there was no response even when I drank a big glass of iced water, so we ended up going up to the hospital.

The little sod started going mad as soon as they put the monitor on, but they had difficulty monitoring me properly because of the anterior placenta and because he kept moving away from the pads, so we were there for over an hour!

They were really good and I felt much better afterwards, and since then he has been bopping all over the place :)

Apart from that I'm feeling pretty organised, the nursery furniture is arriving tomorrow, we've got the pushchair (bee plus), car seat, bedside cot (planning on co-sleeping) and next weekend we're going to finish decorating and putting the nursery together. Only another 10 weeks until I start maternity leave as well, although I'm going part-time for the last 6 weeks as I really need to stay until the end of June for my training.

buttonmoon78 · 25/04/2011 12:06

Good, glad all's well Spanner. That's a horrible feeling because you don't want to go in because you feel you're 'making a fuss' but want some reassurance. I had an experience like that with #1&2, but not with #3 though I spent the whole time in a state of expectation of it!

Fraochsmum · 25/04/2011 15:50

Hi all, hope everyone has had a nice Easter!
Sorry I haven't been on in such a time, but this month seems to have been rather hectic and I haven't found the time or been too tired.
I haven't got time to go back over the pages I have missed (prob 10...) but had a brief look back on this one. I have developed reflux over the last week, I didn't know what it was but mentioned the feeling to mw on thursday's appointment. She prescribed Gaviscon and apart from being the largest bottle ever made and pretty yuck, it works wonders!! I forgot to take it a couple of nights back and the burning started as soon as I lay down, but I took a dose and it dissapeared instantly! It says on the bottle for heartburn too so may well do the trick.
I had my last physio today, just been 'discharged' because nothing is working. I will just have to be stubborn with myself and realise my limitations Sad
We have our freebie Phil & Teds sport up and running for DD and she just loves it! The sides are very shallow so she gets to nose at loads of things. It scrubbed up really well and we bought a new basket and doubles seat.
We ended up going to Portugal a few weeks ago for a long weekend, which was just wonderful! We were just 2 km from Spain so popped over for the afternoon, 1 block back from the beach, and in a town that was very flat so good for me old hips Grin Easyjet have a policy of requiring a med cert if you want to fly after 27 weeks, so luckily we weren't going for a week! Their service was great though and put us on as 'assisted passengers'.
Good idea with the bath button!
What a fright you must have got Fab, with any luck that is the last you see of them.
OK, beautiful weather here and DD still asleep so I think I'll go and sit in the garden for a wee while x hope everyone is well x

nicolamumof3 · 25/04/2011 21:11

hi everyone, sorry been absent for a while will read through tomorrow when dc's back at school and have a moment! Spent so much time outdoors in lovely sunshine.

Tho pgp is becoming quite crippling im struggling now tbh, have really bad pain in left hip and knee. Seen physio for second time, gave me a different belt to try (not available on nhs so would have to buy if i really liked) but not sure im getting on with it. The other belt is too big tho and cuts in. Can't win.

busy week 4d scan on Thurs cannot wait, and hope for confirmation on sex too! And then the dreaded GTT on Friday.

HOpe all well with you lovely ladies?

cara2244 · 25/04/2011 22:41

Spanner which bedside cot do you have and where did you get it?

buttonmoon78 · 25/04/2011 23:29

Oh heck. Was hoping for an early night. Just watched Top Gun, then turned over for the news on ITV and realised that gorgeous Michael Buble is on now.

Aaargh!

Now I'm going to have to watch him cos I love him so much! I saw him at the NEC last May and he was just fabulous.

Roll on next Monday when I'm having Sky installed and I can then record such delights to watch obsessively again just the once.

SpannerPants · 26/04/2011 07:34

I got the Arms Reach one from the NCT online shop Cara- I had a 15% off voucher as I'm a member but once the damn thing arrived they sent me a 20% off voucher!!! It's very easy to put together and nice and sturdy, also the perfect height for our bed.

buttonmoon78 · 26/04/2011 23:58

Just a question.... how often are you seeing your MW? I saw mine last Tuesday and she's now put me down for an appt every 3 weeks. Is this normal? I know I've done this once or twice (or even three times) but I can't remember!

confuddledDOTcom · 27/04/2011 01:01

Twit, it's a good idea, statistically there will be 9-10 premature babies on this thread and we're already getting into the 30 weeks so I'm expecting the first to come soon - I'm too aware of prematurity, aren't I?

I have a change mat and a bath unit but to be honest most nappy changes get done on the sofa or floor. I just can't be bothered with equipment. The sink has come in handy quite a bit for bathing little ones, although I top and tail mostly or co-bath.

Been having problems with the ol' PGP, spent too long at the kitchen table yesterday and couldn't weight bear when I stood up. Really scared me, getting me into bed was bit of a team effort. I've never been at that point before. They have a few things that they are blaming my problems on, long term PGP has always been the usual but they're also talking about fibromyalgia, degenerative spine disease and sciatica. After the birth I'm going to push for a proper diagnosis, fibro seems to be a favourite for me.

I have my second foetal heart echo tomorrow as my stepson has a heart condition - was really funny when we tried to tell them early on in the pregnancy, the doctor couldn't figure out how my stepson was anything to do with the pregnancy! We tried different combinations "my stepson" "his son" "the baby's brother!" before we could get her to understandHmm

I have another scan on Friday (although I'm hoping they will do that scan tomorrow and I just have to see the doctor on Friday) to monitor the growth as there is the issue with the potential IUGR. Then we're off to get a 5 hour train to Cornwall to meet him for a long weekend holiday! Come back on Monday (in the car) and he's then back for good! I'll be 30 weeks the day we get back so as far as I'm concerned she can come when she's ready because I feel I've kept her in long enough now. I know that sounds horrible but when you're fighting to keep them in knowing you won't make term getting to 30 weeks is such an achievement and I've had a 31 weeker before so I know what I am facing.

OP posts:
Stangirl · 27/04/2011 04:46

eglu and others with heartburn. I get it really badly when pg - from about week 18. I carry sachets or a bottle of Gaviscon (peppermint flavour not the original aniseed which I hate) and sip at it all day. I get through a large bottle a month. I also sleep in a nest of about 8 pillows - including v shaped ones - which prop me upright in bed.

Had a MW check yesterday and bloods - am anaemic so will be taking iron tabs. Growth scan today. Mat leave starts in 5 weeks. All beginning to feel real.

buttonmoon78 · 27/04/2011 07:41

Confuddled how is it that highly intelligent people (like consultants, one presumes) are often sadly lacking in common sense!? Sorry about your SPD. I have been at that stage and it's a bugger. Be sensible, won't you? I know that's not much use when you already have children as life must continue! Though I must admit, I have to waggle my finger at you and your 5 hour train journey! I hope all scans and appts go well this week.

FWIW, my friend has fibroMG and the society local branch is v active and useful to her. I hope it's not that though Sad

Stangirl my heartburn is yuk too. I'm eating earlier and earlier each day in an attempt to digest more of it before I go to bed but then end up waking about 3 starving!

Make sure you eat something to compensate for the effects of the iron... Grin

inbetweener · 27/04/2011 11:21

Hello everyone,

I feel like I havent been on in aaggggggggges !! probaly because I havent lol. I had two weeks off work and Oh it was lovely. Lovely to spend time with DD's and lovely to stay in bed till gone 9am everyday lol !! I am certainly missing my lie-ins now !! Still, I had better get used to early mornings I guess.....gulp

Ive had lots of BH too, whoever was having them ( sorry Blush am crap with names ). Everytime I over exert myself my bump goes really tight and painful.
I have my 28 week MW appt this afternoon Grin so am looking forward to hearing the heartbeat and being measured lol. Makes it all real doesnt it.

I have managed to get quite organised in the last fortnight. The cotbed is washed down and reassembled with a brand new mattress in my room. A new chest of drawers and cabinet has been delivered for babys things, so i had a great time sorting through all of DD's baby things for boy suitable vests and babygros lol. All now washed and put away. I did get quite emotional ( and scared ) looking at all my lovely baby girl things !!! I had forgotten how small my grown up girls are !!
My pushchair has arrived, the baby carseat is cleaned and out of the loft. I bought a brand new sterilisor from Amazon ( just incase ) erm...think thats about it lol.

Right better do some work. I leave in three hours !!
