morning all, back from ds3's swimming lesson im shattered!! bit of a walk there and back, and heavy swim bag let alone all the undressing/dressing malarkey, oh and the swimming!!

Miss L he needs to take his meds, im sorry you're going through this you must be worn out Sad

DS3 just having lunch watching handy manny then off to nursery in half an hour. DS2 has a mothers day assembly at 2pm looking forward to that should be sweet as he's in reception. Had confirmation that ds3 has place at ds2's school from sept so will have one in year one and one in reception (and eldest in year 8) where does the time go!

buttonmoon78 · 01/04/2011 12:12

Oh poor you Twit. Did the physio give you any exercises to do? Have you looked at the pelvic partnership website?

I know how down constant pain can make you feel so do say if you're feeling really low. Make sure that if it gets worse you get some better painkillers and if you need them, ask for sleeping tablets too. Having no sleep and being in pain is even worse, I can promise you that!

cara2244 · 01/04/2011 15:14

Twit, that's annoying, you might find the ball really helps tho. I find its little things that help and if I forget to do them, the pain starts creeping back. The pgp website has loads of tips too. Mine got worse and worse for over a month then started to get better so maybe there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Twit · 01/04/2011 15:46

Thanks, I know it'll go eventually, and in my other pregnancies once the baby has engaged it seems to ease but you're right, the constant struggle is draining and leaves little left for anything else. The walk to collect DD from school was a bit easier with the belt so that in itself is great - it's just waking in the night everything is much more magnified and I have to get out of bed to turn over (I have a wee and a drink too) and it feels like there's a trapped nerve as well as everything else.
Bah, it'll all be over soon and there'll be a baby to cuddle. and keep me awake at night
On the plus side some Soap & Glory stuff has arrived (for Mother's Day) which I look forward to using.

nicolamumof3 · 01/04/2011 20:14

Oh twit I feel your pain my back and hips are agony today I know I've walked to much but no option is there when you have young dcs
Don't drive either so have to walk and carry stuff. Anyway enough grumbling!! I love soap n glory twit enjoy it x

bumble34 · 01/04/2011 21:27

i can't believe how many of us have spd I know i'm lucky and mines not as bad as some of you & I've definitely seen a big improvement with the exercises and crutches. I also saw the physio 48 hrs after they got my referral and can't believe how long some of you have had to wait.

On the down side work have been really unsupportive today. Occi health have recommended that i don't do the clinical side of my job any longer, approx 30% of my working day as this is really aggrivating the spd. This way they say it's more likely i'll manage the next 9 weeks rather than going off early. I'm happy to pick up the others admin work if I'm not doing the clinical stuff but my boss has said if i can't do the clinical side of it I'll have to go off sick. Surely it's better for the team and our clients that i'm there in some capacity than not at all. That and i thought that if you couldn't do your job due to pregnancy/sickness but could do another role in the team they had to let you.

Don't know why i'm moaning really but i've really worked hard and tried to keep going and their not prepared to even consider meeting me half way.

Maybe i should just go off sick on full pay and say sod them

bumble34 · 01/04/2011 21:30

sorry to moan

on the bright side ds room nearly ready and we may have a grown up room for 2 whole months before this little one arrives :)

nicolamumof3 · 01/04/2011 21:35

bumble im sure your work can't do that Confused

i just think my body is old and worn out!!

bumble34 · 01/04/2011 21:50

mine too nicola it's shouting you're nearly 40 stop having babies you mad woman!!

I think i might contact HR about works attitude unless the sun starts shining again and then i might just make the most of being at home (or on the beach!) with my lovely boy :)

JimmyChoo17 · 01/04/2011 22:00

Hi ladies! And welcome newbies!

Anyone elses movements really low down!? Seems to be getting lower rather than higher like kicks in pubic bone area and it's almost like a constant tickle? It's not a pleasant feeling I preferred the movements when they were higher but were short lived. Does it matter if baby is breech now? I'm 25 weeks tomorrow.

Had a really crappy day and just feel real low due to an office full of fucktards (good word!) this week telling me how big I am...I'm not really big at all but am feeling self conscious anyway so prays commenting non stop hasn't helped and being treated like some sort of idiot...I'm pregnant not stupid!!! grr rant over. Sorry not posted in ages and first post is a moan. For the first time in 25 weeks i have just wanted to cry and cry and cry :-(

I really need to get mingling with more pregnant people, but no idea where to start. Got midwife appointment monday so will see if she can offer some advice.

And button to top it all off I spoke too soon after your post and I think I'm developing a varicose fanjo vein too!!

I go on hols in 2 weeks so am hoping things don't get worse.

Anyone heard from con fuddled yet? hope all is ok.

JimmyChoo17 · 01/04/2011 22:02

Prays? Prats I meant...funny how the ipad recognises fucktards but not prats Grin

sues1974 · 01/04/2011 22:24

ha ha im loving the word fucktards too, sorry to those that have to deal with them though especially Fab.
im still looking very very pregnant but have started saying im 6 months pregnant now (well newly) as it sounds so much better than 20 something weeks.
Pesha i love the scan picture and i agree i think he looks like your little boy.
firstsupermum, my birthday is 1st sept so im not far behind you. i wanted a natuaral birth this time round too but unfortunately medical problems dictate otherwise, would defo go for it though if i could.
where are you going on holiday Jimmychoo?
xx

JimmyChoo17 · 01/04/2011 22:47

Off to Egypt Against my better judgement! (cant say i loved it last time) But different resort this time.

will get some good sun and not be too far into pregnancy.am hoping some vitamin d will help my mood oh, and cellulite always looks better tanned!

Fab123 · 01/04/2011 23:06

Hey Jimmy my MW app confirmed Pea is transverse but she wasn't too worried. I think it's something like if they haven't "engaged" by 32 weeks then you should start doing special yoga positions etc, but for the meantime she just said to try to sleep on my left (which I have been trying to do anyway) and to lean forwards when I sit - which I am finding really hard to remember and do Confused.
Fucktard dropped another bombshell today. He's going in for a pointless non-urgent leg operation on 27th May and will need his leg in a cage for 3 months. He's confirmed he's doing this so that he can use work's insurance plan up before he leaves the job before winter. He will be able to walk on it, but let's face it I won't be asking him to carry anything or have him running to help! Mind you, I should probably be glad we are talking again and he is now at least telling me what he has been planning. Doesn't look hopeful for her getting to know him though :(
Getting highly frustrated with the amount of furniture I need moving. I need two burly men! Spent today dyeing some baby grows yellow (far too much white otherwise!) and laying the last of the lino tiles in the bathroom. Cheap fix but I figure I can get a proper floor down in a couple of years when they inevitably start pinging up.
Waffle waffle! I've also been craving doughnuts today, but i'll stop there as I don't want to spread that particular problem!!!
Hope everyone is well and has a pain free night. x

nicolamumof3 · 02/04/2011 07:21

morning ladies.

25w today, feeling alright, and slept surprisingly good so thats nice.

anyone worrying about position as fab has said no worries at all at this stage.

Im sure my baby is breech but no one said anything and tbh they shouldn't really need to or comment at this stage as all my kicks are very very low and in pelvic region too..keep waiting for foot to come out Shock sorry tmi!!

Not long til my 28w 3d scan now then i will have better idea about where this placenta is and baby is, and that she is def a she!!

Whats everyone up to this weekend? Hope you all have lovely mothers days xx

HighFibreDiet · 02/04/2011 13:13

Hi all, my spd has been fairly bad too but after buying a 'granny trolley', trying to catch buses more and do the stretches the physio gave me, I'm feeling a fair bit better.

nicola I have also been feeling the kicks all very low down but I do have an anterior placenta so I thought that might be one reason. Jimmychoo I had someone (a man) tell me I looked like I was 6 1/2 months pregnant the other day. I'm on my fourth baby and I still wouldn't assume anything or make any comments whatsoever about the size of another woman's bump, yet some people feel they can say whatever they like and get away with it. Angry Hope you have a great holiday. fab123 can't say much except Hmm and you are clearly better without your fucktard around. bumble moan away, I would in your position Smile.

button and jimmychoo Vit C, fish oils and horse chestnut extract all improve circulation and strengthen the walls of blood vessels so are supposed to improve varicose veins. I started to feel piles getting worse earlier on in pregnancy (related to varicose veins) and I increased my intake of fish oils and Vit C. It may be a coincidence, but I haven't had any problem with piles since. Based on this purely anecdotal evidence Smile, I would strongly recommend supplements if you don't take them already. There are other good reasons for fish oil supplements too unless you are vegan of course.

Eglu · 02/04/2011 14:01

Hi all, still feeling completely exhausted today, but the sun is shining so my mood has improved somewhat. I managed to get DS1 (7) to put the fitted sheet on his bed today. It's a top bunk and I just can't do it any more. He huffed and puffed and made hard work of it but got it done eventually.

There is no point in me having these large age gaps if they don't have a bit of independence. Grin

I can't believe how many people feel it is okay to comment on the size of someones bump. All women carry differently and can look vastly different at the same stage of pregnancy. I was at a work thing the other week and a man I had never met in my life told me I looked big for how far on I was. Why would you say that to a stranger. It's rude enough if it is friends.

Last night I had a pain in my ribcage like I was wearing a bra that was too tight, except I wasn't wearing a bra. I'm presuming it is my ribcage stretching out. You'd think I'd know having been through this twice already.

Fab123 · 02/04/2011 17:05

Eglu I got that pain lots in the first trimester and went from a 32-36 bra size. It still hurts sometimes but mainly when I slouch backwards (i.e typing on my laptop on my bed propped up by pillows) which is clearly not good for posture with a ball belly Wink

Went out for my friend's birthday today and had a pub lunch. Lovely to see everyone but i'm slightly envious of their raucous night ahead. Mind you, it's getting cloudier now and i'm a little sleepy... probably for the best!

Highfibre not heard that about chestnut extract. May have to look for that. Scared of veins already (leg OR fanjo ones tbh) so any preventative worth looking into. I still sporadically take my multivits so think I get enough Vit C and eat my fish allowance for the week too :)

Hope everyone enjoyed the sunnier weather today!

nicolamumof3 · 02/04/2011 17:40

sun was lovely but im whacked i can tell you.

went out with my mum this morning and she treated us to pub lunch which was lovely, came home and ds2 threw up when he got out the car, delightful! luckily dh was just home from work so after bleaching and washing down the drive i went for a lie down. dh being very good with boys as im just shattered today. well only an hour and it will be bathtime for them.

my head hurts probably another migraine coming on. Feel all i've done this pg is moan..sorry ladies.

Eglu im the same with bunkbed i got dh to do it last time its a real struggle otherwise and not sure it can take my weight up the ladder!! Grin

Fab123 · 02/04/2011 17:46

Oh no Nicola, at least DS was pukey outside rather than indoors. I assume that was easier to clean anyway!
And don't worry about the moaning - it's what we do best as preggo's and what we do on here so as to save the RL'ers from it all Wink

nicolamumof3 · 02/04/2011 17:49

yes fab, dh could see it coming and just got him to sit on step and breathe some fresh air i went to get bowl but was too late!!

Thanks it cheers me up to know im not alone. Dh has been really good this afternoon, esp as he left for work at 5am bless him.

HighFibreDiet · 02/04/2011 23:54

Some links re horse chestnut:
from the NIH (unsurprisingly quite reserved about its efficacy) and Baptist Health Systems (more positive and even mentions a trial with pregnant women).

Nicola sorry to hear about your ds2 and migraine. Hope you get a good rest for Mother's Day.

We are lucky to have an extra bed so I have moved ds1 from the top bunk as I was getting fed up with all the bedmaking. He's wetting the bed pretty regularly at the moment so it's nearly every day I have to change the sheets :(

Fab123 · 03/04/2011 09:33

Happy Mothers Day everyone :) x

JimmyChoo17 · 03/04/2011 16:14

You too fab!!! The first thing my hubby said was " happy mothers day mummy to be" Grin

Ah I can't wait to meet my little one

Happy mothers days mummies!

Eglu · 03/04/2011 19:09

Happy Mothers Day to all the mummies. And happy mothers day to be for all of the first timers. Grin

I have done nothing today, which was great.
