Executive decision that at 987 posts we're moving over!

New challenge - can we fill up 1000 posts before the first babies arrive, given that we managed to keep our legs crossed all through the last one?!

First babies are due, officially, next month but are there any in such a hurry to see the world that they can beat our chatting?

Thank you ladies for answering my palpable question!! I feel much better! the thought of being 4/5 engaged scared me shitless :o!!

Had a totally lazy day yesterday, finishing off with watching comic relief! Oh the blubbing that was going on here! I shouldn't have watched it but I did. And I donated so that made me feel slightly better.

All my days are merging into one just now! DH had to remind me that today was Saturday! Is this what it's going to be like from now on!

MrsWajs enjoy your lunch, hope DSS doesn't have anymore gifts hidden away for you.

Caramel Another vote for Sciatica here. I find sitting on a warmish hot water bottle sometimes helps, or a warm bath if you can still get in and out ok!

Currently watching sitting on sofa while DH watches the football. Then its the rugby marathon!! Ooooh all those lovely thighs and big shoulders!!

ecuse · 19/03/2011 13:19

OK spoke to the midwife today, she was Shock at my GP, she said she'd sort it out for me - chased down my blood test results, ran them by an obstetric consultant and rang me back in the space of 5 minutes. I love the midwives!

Tests came back negative so looks like I don't have PE for now, but they want me to go in and have my blood pressure checked at Obstetric Assessment Unit tomorrow and, in the meantime, keep my feet up. Sounds like a plan!

LisMcA · 19/03/2011 13:24

Any excuse ecuse(I had to check the dictionary to make sure I'd spelt excuse right, next to your name it looks weird!)!! Glad your MW sorted it all out! Hope she gives the GP what for when they are back from their hols!!

SaltedPretzels · 19/03/2011 13:54

Hello April Family Glad to see I've not missed any babies but now I have several pages of chatter to catch up on tomorrow! Grin xx

Welcome to Natzer & Star

I had a go last week just the day after my last post at pilates. OK yo may laugh at me, I'm getting used to it when I tell people.

I was doing really well despite the crutches thanks to pelvic disorder thingy. The music changed up a gear when the Yoda balls came out so naturally I bounced along to the beat and well, I've been laid up for 5 days with a bruised hip and kept in for several hours due to concussion Grin they are great fun though! My ball is now in the naughty corner and has been restrained until we need it Hmm

Have booked hairdresser and pregnancy massage for Thursday pm after antenatal in the morning so I'm looking forward to some pampering. Think I will go next week for nursing bra's as I can't really be bothered driving to and then traipsing round Carlisle but I suppose it's better than getting undressed every feed Smile

Kitty You'll be enjoying your baby shower around now, hope it's wonderful, I'm sure it will be, let us know how it went?!

Cyclebump · 19/03/2011 15:44

Oh no SP! Hope you're ok x

Hehe, commentator on rugby just mentioned that on of the players' wives is heavily pg. He hoped she was sitting comfortably, 'and that goes for all pregnant ladies' Smile

Had my last official day at music school today. Got a few pressies and some flowers, which was very sweet. My baby shower is tomorrow and I'm very excited! I'm just looking forward to seeing people. Plus DP is doing more kitchen work while I'm out :@)

I too have a haircut planned this week, it's on Tuesday morning after my antenatal check on Monday.

Oops, back to the rugby!

ecuse · 19/03/2011 16:11

ouch, SP, that sounds painful.

Changing the subject from being all 'me me me' about my blood pressure...

Pram suits. Do we need one to bring the baby home from the hospital / generally go out? It's not winter, and I'm looking at the snowsuits thinking they look a bit OTT and maybe the baby will swelter. On the other hand, it's not going to be hot either. I was wondering if just a cardigan and a few blankets would be OK or whether I need to get something more substantial.

And, as a secondary question, if I do need one, where can I get one that isn't white/beige/pastel coloured?!

LisMcA · 19/03/2011 16:48

Ecuse I bought one a couple of months ago that is a silver/grey coloured fur and has iccle ears on the hood :o. Was from Sainsbos. We are in Scotland though so snow in April isn't unheard of.

My sister presented me with a bag full of clothes she has bought for us this week and in it is a little parka jacket with a furry hood. I'm quite excited about him wearing it!!

Cyclebump · 19/03/2011 16:54

Oooh, a mini parks, that's precious!

I'm planning a babygro type ensemble with blankets to take small person home in. Hat and booties are also essentials apparently. Having said which, our LO might be walked home in the pram (10 minutes from hospital).

I also have a shawl crocheted by by great nan to use as I and my sisters all came home in it. It's drying on the airer alongside my big swaddling muslins, some tiny socks, hats and a couple of pairs of trousers.

caramellokoalalover · 19/03/2011 17:03

Thanks for the opinions on weird pains Beetle and Lis. I'm hoping it's not PGP thingy too as that sounds a total nightmare.

ecuse glad you're getting looked after by your MW now and an order to rest doesn't sound too bad. Re the snowsuit/pramsuit debate, I think you're in London too and I don't think we'll need a full on snowsuit but a pramsuit will probably be useful. Something like this in terms of weight - not thick padded waterproof number but all in one. Especially useful if you plan on using a sling when they're small. You can probably get away without it if you plan on using a pram and footmuff instead though. As for getting ones that aren't white or pastel I'm not sure. It's easy to find animal print snowsuits but haven't seen anything similar as a pramsuit, sorry.

SaltedPretzels · 19/03/2011 17:46

Cycle nice to get flowers they always cheer the day up!
I'm not a rugby fan but you all have me curious so I may watch for good thighs an hour.

I'm loving that face cycle :@) It looks like baby with a dummy ahhhh cute Wink

Ecuse Your coming out of a hot hospital into a waiting car I assume, so make sure the car is warmed up (not hot) and all you'll need is a blanket in addition to his/her going home outfit, hat and scratch mits. I'm using a family made shawl for the in and out of car bit and unless it's a cold day there's no real need for coats. If your unsure of how hot or cold it maybe the best idea is to take a few layers it's easier to maintain a good temperature by adding or removing layers.

I'm not in pain just being careful. x

SnapFrakkleAndPop · 19/03/2011 17:56

I'm watching the rugby - first game disappointing, the second humiliating and a terrible ref who buggered up the France Italy game last week.

But the thighs are yummy and DH is peacefully doing his ironing so it could be worse.

In other news I fear my iPhone is ill...

Petalouda · 19/03/2011 18:24

Hello!

Salted well done on your injuries! I'm impressed! And glad you're not in pain! x

Cycle I'm impressed at you considering walking back from the hospital. Our MLU is only down the road (10 min walk) but there's no way I'm walking back!

We've got a pramsuit living in the carseat (which has got it's own cosytoes thing) at the moment - it wouldn't fit in the hospital bag!

I'm off out tonight! Well, popping to the other side of the moor for a mate's birthday - although it's a very civillised & relaxed affair, I'm told.

Hoping that being away from the hospital will jinx things into action.

Who was it who mentioned feeling the baby drop suddenly? I'm sure I had that sensation earlier, when I decided to find the cut-through to the local shop (only been here 6 months - about flipping time!).

This waiting is getting soooo tedious!

LisMcA · 19/03/2011 18:27

Ah Frakk what can be disappointing about Scotland winning! However unattactive the style of play :o. I may be biased but I think Scotland are the best looking team. Some of them are in need of a haircut though (is that a mummy instinct kicking in early).

Also, although I am not an anti English Scot, I am pleased to see Ireland winning! Brian O'Driscoll is yummy!! And the little badly one (Singer??) makes me smile! I don't really know much about rugby rules etc. I am a viewer rather than a fan!!

Poor iPhone, is there an iDoctor in the house?? My iPod won't sync with my computer. And everything I try to fix it gets the same error message.

JustKeepSwimming · 19/03/2011 18:28

Watching the rugby too :)
Though I'm Irish so seeing it slightly differently to you I think Frak!

My iPhone was ill Fri/yesterday - crashed halfway through some itunes update.
After several unplug, replug/etc it sorted itself out.

Some serious BHs today, if i was over 37 weeks i'd be getting excited!

JustKeepSwimming · 19/03/2011 18:29

Lis - what's the error message? Mine had a similar prob a while back and it turned out the port was corroded after DS2 dribbled in it...

SnapFrakkleAndPop · 19/03/2011 18:39

I'm glad Scotland won (anyone beating Italy is good Grin) but the game wasn't nearly as good as some them have been. Ypud have thought the race not to be bottom of the table would be better!

Here England are getting steamrollered and whilst I'm part Irish I'm not fickle enough to switch alleigance like that! England have been performing consistently well and today it's just Shock WTF?!?

Baby has been forbidden from making any kind of appearance until the final results are in, which means staying up to watch Wales/France!

OP posts:
LisMcA · 19/03/2011 18:57

JKS its something like "Duplicate File found" It wouldn't be so bad if DH hadn't reset everything and it wiped everything from the iPod. I was only wanting to update my podcasts! Now I have nothing on there!

Cyclebump · 19/03/2011 19:16

Oh England, what on earth was that?! It also means DP has decided to stay out to watch the France vs Wales game and I'm alone all night Sad

Ireland were, I'll admit, magnificent. Oh and I second the motion that the Scots are fielding the hotties in this tournament.

Oh and all those you like the muscly shoulders/thighs, DP is in fact captain of one of the local teams and I'll admit when I met him it wasn't his stunning intellect that caught my attention Wink

kitstwins · 19/03/2011 19:19

Crap day today. To start with, my husband announced that he needed to go and test drive a car, leaving me to drag the girls and bikes to, around and back from the park. At one point I was carrying both bikes and trying to get the girls across roads, etc. whilst they moaned about being tired.

I wouldn't mind but his SOLE task has been to organise the replacement of our current car so of course it's last-minute and chaotic as per usual (I could easily start ranting "one thing to do, one thing.." like some bitter, demented nag).

This afternoon I do my giant batch of freezer cooking for the girls/us post-baby (shepherds pie, soups, casseroles) as obviously I couldn't do it this morning. Half way through I slip on the kitchen floor and fall really awkwardly, almost doing the splits, so now my pubic bone is agony and I can hardly walk. Finished the cooking (everything just slung in whilst I sobbed with pain) so God only knows what it tastes like. Am so fed up. Will try and find an osteo tomorrow but it's Sunday so it's unlikely. Am feeling very tearful and pathetic though and have snapped at my husband all afternoon. Not his fault I slipped on a piece of carrot but I feel like blaming him on the grounds of his uselessness over the car. Rant shortly to end but can I just say he has ONE THING TO DO as I've done literately everything else and, lo and behold, we've got two weeks to go and still no car that will fit three carseats. Exactly the same last time when the day before we took the twins home from hospital we STILL had a 2 seater convertible and no carseats. It p!sses me off.

Sorry for rant. Feel infinitely better for splurging that. Extremely cathartic.

Hope all are well and good today.

Cyclebump · 19/03/2011 19:25

Ouch! Kits I hope you're resting this evening. You must be so frustrated. I feel your pain, although to a lesser extent. I've bought/chosen pretty much all the baby stuff, sorted most things. DP only had to sort the kitchen. Is it done? Is it my arse.

Can you have a nice warm bath? I find that when my SPD is bad it makes a huge difference.

I would expect your DH to do some serious leg work to make it up to you, think back scrubbing while telling you how gorgeous you look...

LisMcA · 19/03/2011 19:34

Oh Kits I admire the fact you haven't whacked him :o! Try alternating ice and heat on your pubic bone. Have you had pelvic pain before the slip?

I just keep mentioning all the things DH said he would do before baby arrives, slowly but surely he's getting them all done! I'm a nag though :o

Hope tomorrow is a better day for you ((hugs))

LisMcA · 19/03/2011 19:37

Cycle Envy at your strong of thigh and shoulder DH! My DH describes himself as "athletically chunky"!

JustKeepSwimming · 19/03/2011 19:45

Lis - sorry can't help with that, though it sounds less serious than needing a new 'home' button & connector port (dribbling cost me £90!!)

Kits- ouch & grrr. DH is meant to be i/c telling people when baby arrives. GPs are an easy start, & when i asked him the other day about his list, he looked all flummoxed and muttered 'Facebook?' hopefully!! Looks like i'll be i/c telling people then (seeing as how he never uses FB).

Sodding cat - who DH took to vet last weekend with bloody hole in his chest - has come in with a fresh (small) hole in his chest & what looks a hole near his bum. stupid thing will insist on getting into fights. And i am OTT squeamish about it all atm

JustKeepSwimming · 19/03/2011 19:48

Lis - any help here?

SnapFrakkleAndPop · 19/03/2011 20:01

Oh dear kits. I sympathise as DH is supposed to have his car fixed before he drives a labouring me to hospital in it but at least we have one!

cycle my DH was a rugby player turned American footballer when we met. Intellect didn't come into it Grin

Now, allez les bleus!
