Executive decision that at 987 posts we're moving over!

New challenge - can we fill up 1000 posts before the first babies arrive, given that we managed to keep our legs crossed all through the last one?!

First babies are due, officially, next month but are there any in such a hurry to see the world that they can beat our chatting?

Kits - hope baby hangs in there.

Kits is 11 days ahead of me from the stats thread, so must be about 35+4 ish?

Petalouda · 06/03/2011 20:56

Hope things are ok Kit, take it easy.

JKS that's good to know.

Liv77 · 06/03/2011 21:05

Ali I will certainly send my son over but he may teach your son more bad habits than good. He particularly likes seeing how far across the bathroom floor he can get his wee to go from the toilet.

The training has gone quite well this weekend. Only one accident today when he didn't make it to the bathroom in time. He said he needed to go when we were round at my mum's. By the time we'd got upstairs and I'd sat him on the loo he then said he didn't need to go. Hmm. After several minutes of coaxing and him still refusing I picked up his pants to put back on and found a small but perfectly formed turd sitting inside them. So he was telling the truth when he said he didn't need to go. Blush. Sorry if TMI but I was quite surprised as I always assumed if you did a poo you'd do a wee at the same time but DS doesn't appear too.

Jen You make me feel so much better about also being disorganised. I have one week left at work but know i'll still be trying to sort things at home at the last minute. I always assumed that once DS came along I would miraculously change into an organised, houseproud mother but it never happened and I am under no illusion that I will get any better with the arrival of DC2
Grin at your DD and her baby, my DS tells people there is a baby in my tummy but also keeps trying to shove toys down my top for the baby to play with. I hope he's so keen to share when the baby arrives but somehow I doubt it.

BeetleBaby · 06/03/2011 21:18

Kits hope you and baby are ok, my fingers are crossed for you.

Salted every trip to the frozen veg section is like an cold compress theme park for me Wink Hope your pelvis is ok.

Petal we went with the Lollipop Pop 'n' Grow. I really liked the bright colours and DH could figure them out too so seemed like a winning combo. Have a slight worry that I may turn into a slight nappy addict though Grin

Liv I'm sorry, but your little boy seeing how far across the bathroom he can pee really made me chuckle...I'm pretty sure they don't grow out of that (not if the men I knew at uni were anything to go by, as soon as there was snow the 'yellow snow pissing contests' started!)

JenAT · 06/03/2011 22:19

Kitstwins Sorry to hear that you are back in hospital Sad, keep us posted.

MrsWajs · 07/03/2011 01:12

Liv77 DSS loves the old poo in the pants trick too! And usually they are anything but small - I'm not quite sure how he manages it!! Still haven't completely mastered toilet training with him either yet, we introduced a step last week so he can do big boy pee's like daddy but it hasn't encouraged him any!! I think he gets the urge but is either too lazy or pre-occupied to ask to go to the toilet! Really hoping he doesn't take a backward step when baby appears but given his utter disgust at having to wear a nappy a few weeks ago when he had diarrhoea, I think we might be safe!

ILTMIMI Low sugar diet = very hard work for moi!! Probably the main reason I seem to be a lifetime member of the thrush club! Definitely going to try pessary though and after reading the other thread about thrush - maybe start washing my knicks at 100 degrees and ironing them too!! Shock

Will enquire with MW about the varicose vein issue, it's not overly painful as such just irritating that it feels all swollen down there and then rubs against clothing, which will be contributing to the itching and discomfort. This sounds ridiculously silly but I really hope she doesn't want to have a look! I know she'll see the whole shebang in all its glory in a few weeks anyway but I'm feeling a bit Blush about the state of my lady garden also. DP has even lost interest in it and that's saying something!! Was considering going to have it waxed about a week or 2 pre-due date but I know the girl who would do and am even more embarrassed for her to see it!! Might need to go outta town!

Kits Hope everything is ok for you and bub, keeping my fingers crossed.

SnapFrakkleAndPop · 07/03/2011 04:12

Keeping fingers crossed for you kits.

I was going to have a wax done mrsw but, like you, I'm not sure I can face the beauty therapist!! I'm wondering if Veet will do it...

beetle I don't think boys ever grow up in that sense! I saw a group of very drunk freshers pissing out of a top window into various receptacles lined up below on their second or third night in their hall. I don't get the fascination!

petal we've got Terry squares, one bum genius and some motherease on order. Planning a bit of mix and match!

Update from me - things settled in the night and I'm now back on the monitor and plotting my escape. I need to go home and see my girls! Not sure why this has happened again but it looks likely that, having happened twice, it will happen again. It's exactly the same picture as last time with the girls, albeit later gestation and I don't have placenta praevia this time around. It's why I'm so annoyed. It sounds whiny and pathetic but I just feel it's so unfair given the sagas I had last time. I really thought I'd 'earnt' a 'normal' pregnancy this time.

Sorry for the moan. It's just the realisation that another bleed is very likely and, once again, I have that hanging over me.

Moan over. Now need to get on and be positive. It's important I enjoy the last bit of my pregnancy and not become all miserable and grumpy about it. I'm very lucky and I need to focus on that and not the negatives

Consultant should be around later so hopefully he'll be able to give me an idea of what is going on.

Petalouda · 07/03/2011 07:55

Morning.

Kit moan away, it's what we're here for! And a mathematician would probably tell you that statistically it's no more likely to happen again than in the first place. But sadly we all know the NHS is not built on logic!

Stay positive, you're so near to term! x

I'm seeing the MW this morning. Secretly hoping she tells me not to go to work. Since I haven't magically gone into labour over the weekend!

Cyclebump · 07/03/2011 08:08

I've got MW this afternoon, I'm going to ask that she tries to feel whereabouts baby actually is. Should it feel like he might fall out at 36 weeks? Plus I nearly fell over a few times on my way to a single middle-of-the-night wee last night. Felt like my left leg had gone numb and was less than pleasant!

I thought MN was for moaning? Moan away Kits it's no wonder you're feeling low, it must be stressful and crap! Hopefully it'll resolve and you can get home to the girls soon.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 07/03/2011 08:12

Good luck Kits. Don't worry about moaning, I think you have every right to tbh.

A MW visit for me too today, and my new sofa is arriving for the playroom, so I am stpidly looking forward to that.

For those of you who are potty training at the mo, I also have a reluctant pooer. We've had a few on the potty and toilet, but mostly they've been in pants and on the floor . Wee's are fine though and he can now hold onto it until we reach a toilet.

kittycatcat · 07/03/2011 08:28

kits glad all is ok now. PMA and all that and when you feel it slip you know where we all are :)

My nightmares are back. Need to get my hosp bag packed (which i still need a nightie, kittens coming home winter all in one?, and my birth plan for). eek. I washed all kittens clothes and bedding yest and slept better last night. Work starts on the nursery this weekend. Whoop.

gormers · 07/03/2011 08:49

Hope all stays settled for you Kits, and vent away on here as it's better to get rid of all those feelings, and we're a pretty good sounding board!

Eva was 7 weeks old yesterday, and managed 2 hours off her breathing mask and just on oxygen - big steps forward for her. Weirdly, this was supposed to be my last week at work before mat leave - I don't even remember life when I went to work!

Hope all ok with the MW visits everybody, mrswajs - you have my sympathy, sounds uncomfortable! I can't really imagine how uncomfortable 3rd trimester, especially the end of it, must be, I never really got past the fairly neat bump stage - I'm going to be in for one hell of a shock with next pregnancy I guess!

kittycatcat · 07/03/2011 09:26

Thats good news Gormers little fighter :)

Cyclebump · 07/03/2011 10:23

That sounds like good progress Gormers, hopefully it's a sign of good things to come x

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 07/03/2011 11:04

gormers - that's good news :)

kits - hope they let you home. Not long until full-term for you now x

LisMcA · 07/03/2011 11:13

Oh Kits poor you, moan away and have some

Had a busy weekend here, went to see a nursery for when I go back to work :(. It was nice, but I think a local childminder might be better while he's still little. The thought of him being one of 8 that 2 girls have to look after made me feel a bit :(. Plus the fact the fees were extortionate, it would hardly be worth me going back to work! Then we were out for dinner with my friend and her husband. She is 2 weeks ahead of me, so we got talking about birth plans etc. I could see the ears pricking up of the elderly couple sitting next to us when we started speaking about forceps and tearing!! Wink

DH has added a must have item to the list of things we need to get. Ladies, I present to you the Peepee Teepee. Those of you with boys already may be aware of this product! I personally think it's possibly the silliest thing I've ever seen, but DH has it on good authority that we will need them!

Just spent the last half hour on the yoda ball! Pelvis feels better for it, however, how can I put it, my fanjo bone (?) is aching. Its like when you were little and slipped off your bike on to the crossbar. Ouchy!!

Reflexologist is coming round today, hopefully will have something good to report later about that!

Is anyone not very hungry? I've been eating, but really don't want it. I'm usually eating like a horse, but not just now.

stuffedmk · 07/03/2011 11:36

kits fingers crossed you get to go home soon and things settle down.

Am currently playing many classic tracks on youtube to try and take my mind off my afternoon. Driving test at 2.30....wish me luck, as I am convinced it was just bad luck last time Hmm Planning to have Domino's pizza tonight to either console myself or celebrate lol so deciding which topping to have is at least something else to think about. Can't believe I have a driving test at 36 weeks I am clearly nuts Confused.
I need to clean the chickens out desperately but have been leaving it this week so as not to make my hip any worse before today, poor things are stinking, think that will have to be a job for this afternoon...what fun lol.
Think baby shifted to quite a good head down position yesterday but seems to be slightly diagonal again today....hope he doesn't shift back to sideways!

DH keeps trying to talk about a next baby, in a kind of, if we are going to (which I had thought was out of the question anyway) we should do it asap, and talking house renovations to accomodate a third child Confused He doesn't really want another one but says he is just trying to make decisions now before I get broody again.....Ummm....Hello!!....I am not in a place to think about it right now, being desperate to get this one out lol. I figure it best to keep that to myself though to leave the option open, I have been fairly quiet on the issue so as not to say something along the lines of "ARE YOU F*ING CRAZY??!!!"

stuffedmk · 07/03/2011 11:44

Lis have seen those and nearly bought some lol still thinking about it, got in the habit of putting tissues over that area with DS (keeping nappy covering it for as long as possible) so as not to get sprayed. Won't stop the wee then going downwards but at least you won't have to change clothes or wash the walls down lol Wink Grin

LisMcA · 07/03/2011 11:44

Lol stuffed. DH has already resigned himself that this may be the one and only! He feels guilty about putting me in this position. He actually said " If the only pain you felt was the birth bit, I'd want more, but I don't think I could take another nine months of this!" He walks with a limp now! :o

Good luck this afternoon, I'll be sending good vibes to you. I didn't pass until my 4th try, I was too nervous the first 3, by the 4th, I thought "F&*$ it". You can do it!!

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 07/03/2011 12:45

stuffed - good luck!

Lis - we used to just put a wipe over the area with DS. Didn't stop all the accidents, but limited them! I recommend having not only a muslin or towel on the changing mat, but also a bigger towel under the mat if you are changing on a bed - means you aren't stripping beds the whole time Grin

Cyclebump · 07/03/2011 12:55

Hahahaha, am LOVING the Peepee Teepees!

I have heard all about the amazing fountains of wee caused by small baby boys. A friend once got sprayed in the mouth when caught unawares Shock

Ooh, hiccups again!

SnapFrakkleAndPop · 07/03/2011 13:00

Good luck stuffed!

Glad to hear you're feeling better, kits. Fingers tightly crossed that you stay better. Do they have any idea what's causing the bleeds?

That's really great news, gormers. It must be wonderful to see her making real, tangible progress like that.

Lis I've not been feeling terribly hungry either but DH has a habit of force-feeding me which is sometimes a good idea and sometimes less so. It's important to eat though so just have what you can manage.

Kits - So glad things have settled down again and hope you'll be out of hospital ASAP. If not, moan away!

Gormers - Go Eva! x

Potty trainers utd - I am also the mother of a reluctant pooer. So much so that I recently googled the m'net fave 'poo goes to pooland'. Shock Yuk! I was so grossed out, I couldn't bear to print it off and read it to DD... But apparently it works a treat.

I am just waiting for a growth scan to see if we are now expecting a mahoossive baby. Ouch!
