Executive decision that at 987 posts we're moving over!

New challenge - can we fill up 1000 posts before the first babies arrive, given that we managed to keep our legs crossed all through the last one?!

First babies are due, officially, next month but are there any in such a hurry to see the world that they can beat our chatting?

gormers congrats on eva rose, what a time you've had. Hope you are doing better now and that you get to take Eva home soon.

kits hope you're ok and still cooking minikit.

petalouda can't believe you are really in the 'any day now' zone!

Lis not everyone experiences the let down feeling all the time, I didn't, so don't feel like a freak if you don't. The first 2 weeks or so the first 10-20 secs were ouchy ouchy, bum off the couch kind of pain, but it settled down quickly and then I couldn't feel the let down at all.

Aussie I measured small with DS but he was born a few days early and was 3.3kgs, so not teeny at all. I wouldn't worry too much, as long as everything else is fine, they can be so off with measurements.

JKS hope you enjoyed Les Mis and your night away. I'm thinking of taking advantage of my mum being here when I'm 38wks and taking DH away for a night. Just somewhere local but might be our last chance at a lie in sans children for quite a while. I think I'll keep it a surprise from DH so if I end up not fancying it he won't know any different Wink.

Cyclebump · 03/03/2011 10:23

I measured a week ahead at my last appointment but mw just reckons it's because both DP and I are taller than average.

Am on my second to last day at work today Grin

I find out the decision on the mode of delivery a week today, it's all getting terribly real. Kitchen's still in bits, DP's working all the hours God sends at work and we're both knackered. Whatever, I'm sure it'll be fine!

AussieMum2Be · 03/03/2011 11:25

ok, feeling calmer now about measuring small and now looking forward to getting an extra scan, yay me.

Was a bit achey yesterday so bounced on my Yoda ball, I keep picturing Yoda's face below me now and sending myself into giggles. If someone came in they would think i was a right nut job, bouncing up and down on a big ball by myself, rubbing my belly and giggiling like a looney.

LisMcA · 03/03/2011 12:10

kittycatcat · 03/03/2011 13:06

ahahahahahahahahahhahaahahah LOVE IT Lis

Cyclebump · 03/03/2011 13:17

My ball makes farty noises if I bounce on it, DP and I giggle frequently when I'm sitting on it.

Am putting off sending out an email asking if anyone fancies lunch on my last day before ML because I still can't believe it's actually happening. Eek!

kittycatcat · 03/03/2011 13:19

SO jealous circle

kitstwins · 03/03/2011 13:20

Hello all,

The good news is I'm still an April lady. The baby is still inside and I've checked out of hospital, albeit with instructions to go back at the first sign of any unusual activity.

Yesterday was pretty exhausting - I spent much of the day on a monitor twiddling my thumbs and trying not to get backache. At one point I was having 3 contractions in 10 minutes and they were building, which was just bizarre as it had all come from nowhere. Anyway, I took myself off the monitor for half and hour and 'disappeared' as I figured the change/activity would either jolly things along (in which case it was all going to happen anyway) or stop the progression. Happily it stopped the progression and over the course of the afternoon the tightenings tailed off. They wanted me to stay in overnight but I've had my fill of that from my 6 weeks in hospital last time so I was adamant I wanted to go home. The compromise was popping in for monitoring this morning and obviously going back at the first sign of anything.

So none the worse for the dramas, although I have got backache today from lying down for most of yesterday. I'm now firmly convinced that hospitals are JUST like aeroplanes - boring and a time vacuum with bad food! Just about to book myself some osteopathy and a massage to try and crunch myself back into line.

Hope all are well. Gormers congratulations on your baby girl. It must have been a scary experience so I'm really glad she's going from strength to strength.

kittycatcat · 03/03/2011 13:24

Ah thats fab news kits well done you!

Cyclebump · 03/03/2011 13:35

That's fab news Kits! Glad to hear you're out of hospital and able to eat some decent food!

lucielooo · 03/03/2011 14:05

Glad to hear you're back at home kits hopefully that baby will stay put for a little while longer :)

BeetleBaby · 03/03/2011 14:09

Kits that's great news! Smile

Lis I'm putting in my order for a Yoda ball, I figure I'll take any help when the time comes, including The Force! Think I may watch Star Wars to get the midichlorians flowing Wink >yes I'm a geek< Grin

Cycle I know what you mean about that last day feeling. After weeks of just wanting to finish an be able to rest my actual last day had a very surreal feeling to it! I was in denial by 5pm!

Little Insect is having a very starfish like day, all lumps and bumps, which isn't very comfy. I keep trying to find things to do to take my mind of the discomfort/encourage baby to shift a bit but am stuck mooching around the house waiting for parcels to be delivered.

chipsahoynicki · 03/03/2011 14:30

Can I join you?

I am long time lurker on Mumsnet, but never posted before.

I have one DS 3yrs and due another boy on 23rd April.

I've just finished work, have 4 weeks holiday then straight onto maternity leave.

Congrats to those who have already had their LO.

Hello to all!

LisMcA · 03/03/2011 14:34

Hello chips Welcome!! Have a Brew and settle down! There's always something going on!

kittycatcat · 03/03/2011 14:45

Welcome chips :)

SarahJinx · 03/03/2011 15:07

Lis Loving your Yoda Ball! Ha! Seriously though, does a Yoda ball help with achy pelvis/hips back? Honestly i'm not really sure what they're for....?

I went for Gallbladder scan today and happily nothing to report! Well, I say happily but that means random horrid pains just have to be put up with and more painkillers have to be taken, grrr.

I did get a v quick peek at the Bean though, it's little heartbeat more specifically but always nice.

lucielooo · 03/03/2011 15:10

Hello chips and welcome :) Got two more weeks till finishing work but as can be gathered by my day time mumsnetting I'm very much 'winding down my involvement'!

Sassy20 · 03/03/2011 15:12

Wow - lots been going on since I was last one.

Congrats Gormers.
Glad all's ok Kitstwins.
Hope you enjoyed Les Mis JKS - funnily enough I went to see it about a month ago - did the same as you a weekend trip to London with my DH - had a great time and absolutely loved Les Mis - my all time favourite musical.

I'm taking it easy - been for lunch with a friend today. Enjoying my ML.

Thanks for all the tips on the slings.

LisMcA · 03/03/2011 15:18

SarahJinx My yoda ball has been a god send. When standing, sitting or lying down were painful, my yoda ball was comfy. Not for a long sit down, but it's like it puts everything back in the right place IYKWIM.

SarahJinx · 03/03/2011 16:23

Thanks Lis was a bit embarrased to ask....

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 03/03/2011 16:54

Great to see you back kits Smile

Welcome chips, settle down here and get stuck in Grin

SJ - the balls are great for just about everything. Great to just sit on, but especially good for doing hip circles and figures of 8, and rocking. They are also nice to lay over with your knees on the floor. They give you a great stretch in lots of ways and places, depending on how you use them.

TMI, but as always I'm willing to share. I've also found my ball makes me go for a poo! I reckon it's the downwards pressure on the bum hole and the rolling around probably massages the bowel into action! Luckily I don't suffer from constipation, but I reckon it's worth a try for those who do.

Enjoy your last day tomorrow cycle. I bloody loved my last day at work. Presents, cards, cakes, going out for lunch, a few tears - and most importantly I didn't do any work Grin

DH and I are off for a dirty night away tomorrow night. I booked it for his 40th. It's dinner, b&b, and a spa treatment. It's the first night both of us spent the night away from ds at the sametime. I'm v excited!

Cyclebump · 03/03/2011 17:06

OOh, ILTMIMI Will there be seduction too?

SJ I lurve my gym ball. It's the only thing that helps my SPD and back pain. It looks like it should be really uncomfortable but it's a godsend when I've had a long day of sitting/standing uncomfortably.

Welcome Chips, congrats on expecting small bebe. I was one of the front-runners with a due date of 4 April but it's anyone's race in this group.

I wish tomorrow could be a lazy day but unfortunately everyone I'm handing over work too has left it all til the last minute!

I have, however, ordered my last day cakes.

SarahJinx · 03/03/2011 17:11

Ooh, I'm up for anything that promotes the possibility of poos materialising!

so next silly question then, why is a hip circle a good thing....Blush?

BeetleBaby · 03/03/2011 18:13

Cycle I'm glad to see you have priorities in order, cake is obviously the most important bit of starting leave!

Sarah I have no idea why the hip circles are a good thing but they feel really good, makes bits of my back click in a really satisfying way Grin

ILTMIMI have fun Wink and also Envy a spa sounds lovely!

Chips welcome! Come drink tea Brew and have a Biscuit I finished work last Friday and am technically on 4 weeks leave till maternity kicks in too. Hope we don't scare you off we seem to reach the TMI point of conversations rather quickly these days!

I have just realised that, for some reason I bought mini toffee cheese cakes...I don't like toffee cheese cake and neither does DH. Why did I buy them? I can't even remember buying them but must of done as they're on the ASDA delivery recipt...Baby brain has now totally taken over! Confused Blush

SarahJinx · 03/03/2011 20:38

Ok so I'm investing in the Yoda ball at the weekend and practising those circles, anything to feel comfortable again!

Cycle leaving cake is always a great idea, hope you have a great day. I stumbled across my 'secret' leaving do/work baby shower in my bosses diary today, bless. Am working on best suprised face already!

ILTMIMI enjoy the dirty night, it sounds fab, except for potential for sex, who can be bothered with that anymore......siiighh.

Hi chips!

I have four more weeks at work but my super keen replacement is pretty much doing my job now so am very much about having nice lazyass days checking what he's doing, buying stuff online and chomping on crunchies out of the vender! Counting down the days now and trying v bestest to care about work a little.....
