good news about avoiding the GTT Scorps.

OP posts:
HighPriestessBoo · 07/03/2011 21:55

Yes Scorps that is good news and I'm glad you don't have that to cope with on top of all the other stuff.

Scorpette · 07/03/2011 22:48

Smooches for all your lovely comments. I've managed to nap a coupla times and feel a bit more human now. Have got the long pillow my folks got me and it is bloody brilliant - it's currently propping my back up as I surf the net.

Y'know, I think that although pg has been a nightmare for me, health-wise, I will find motherhood a doddle. After all, I'm already a skint, slovenly insomniac who doesn't like going out a lot and live with a male who's obsessed with my breasts, so it's surely not going to be that much of a stretch* Grin

*Please to make own birth puns.

laurielou · 08/03/2011 08:24

Scorps great news about avoiding GTT. Hopefully physio will be able to help too. I just wish there was a mgic wand.

Re Gina Ford et al, I LOVE routine! I'll prolly look at the book properly when on mat leave & take snippets of my fave parts & make up my own routine. The thought of totally winging it brings me out in a rash (though Muse* you sound pretty relaxed on that score). I'm just a bit of a control freak. Mr Loz is even worse, being an army guy's son! You just know we're going to have a complete free spirit child who is going to turn us both more grey.

*Anyone else find themselves always saying "when I'm on mat leave.........." I intend to do all manner of things "when on mat leave, before baybee arrives"

I also just wanted to say I thought the 2 fellas on OBEM last night were fab. One guy got on my nerves a bit, but then he cried at his dad not being around & I suddenly fell in love with him too

I've also managed to stay upright, no blood & generally disaster free since Sat eve - happy days Grin

Ivegotmrbitey · 08/03/2011 08:55

Good news scoredsomejellies, keep your eyes on the prize - you are going to feel sooooo much better soon and of course have the lad Smile

Well done lulu, here's hoping you have had your three calamities and will be comedy disaster free now!

OBEM had the same effect on me, the FDH has lost both his parents in the last four years. His mum died last christmas (2009) and it is still very raw. There are going to be a few tearful moments to come I think.

I am feeling very mixed re: routines. I am terrified of the winging as am also a control freak but I get the arse with Delia Smith evey single Christmas with her step by step instructions to cook the turkey including timings. I think I will read a few things but sort of formulate one as we go.

In me me me news I am feeling very happy today after sleeping in the spare room and having a full and undisturbed night of sleeping, I was woken with kitten cuddles (how is he getting in???) that didn't involve any sort of biting and best of all my lovely mum bought me a differ's coat yesterday so I can outside without perishing as none of my coats fit me! Coat is here if anyone nosy?

milano the lady with the triplets has an entourage, it's the only possible solution!

laurielou · 08/03/2011 09:01

Nice coat Bitey. I too have been sleeping in the spare room for a few nights - Mr Loz is a light sleeper & thanks to my cold & growing stomach I've started to snore very loudly. We've both slept much better, but I feel very sad sleeping apart. Do you feel like this too? Or am I just being a differ mentalist?

Ivegotmrbitey · 08/03/2011 09:11

Um I insisted last night on being tucked in and then made him stay until I got too hot Blush I don't like it and it makes me sad too but it has been fabby to get a proper night's sleep and I am planning on going back in the spare room tonight too.

I am snoring too for the same reasons and he has been waking me throughout the night to tell me! It's not like I can magic the large middle away so there is no point in waking me!

I am also doing when I am maternity leave thing, I can't bloody wait! I have hoarded my annual leave and can't carry it over so should be able to leave work at the very beginning of July and have possibly a month of lazing around in the garden nesting before biteybach puts in an appearance.

laurielou · 08/03/2011 09:25

Bitey I'm exactly the same on all scores! Mr Loz wakes me to tell me I'm snoring & to turn over. Then whenever I get up for a pee he's alert & checking I'm OK. Love him, he must be exhausted.

I've horded most of my annual leave & am finishing work Easter weekend - mat leave won't start until end of May. But I've kept enough leave for a week off next week - HUZZAH! Planning a couple of days in Devon / Cornwall. Where we're staying they have a lovely lady who comes to your accommodation for massages etc. Mr Loz informed me she does a special differs package - result!

ginhag · 08/03/2011 09:27

My maternity leave was spent with 3 days visiting the hospital trying to convince them my waters had gone, one day waiting for actual labour to start whilst dripping everywhere, and then I had a baybee.

Just sayin'.....

And I HATE GF with a passion. But that's because I am a grungy hippy and totally incapable of structure or routine. And mooch was the sort of baybee who would go 'yeah? I'm supposed to do WHAT? WHEN? Nah, I fancy being awake for 16 hours straight like the small crazy person that I am. Stop pretending you are in charge woman!!!!'

ginhag · 08/03/2011 09:28

Btw not really keeping up at the mo. Things have been a bit tough. Surviving tho. Pretty much.

ginhag · 08/03/2011 09:32

Ps assuming no one will take offence at me hating GF, is horses for courses but I found routine based stuff made me feel like a failure as I couldn't do it. Took a while to realise I didn't really want to :)

Am a winger fo' sho'.

Muser · 08/03/2011 09:52

I'm not that relaxed about winging it. I spend about 90% of my day worrying that Bob is feeding too much and worrying that leaving the house is so hard. I think GF would make me feel like a failure. Must remember Bob is only 3 weeks and we are allowed to spend all day feeding on the sofa.

rocketleaf · 08/03/2011 09:58

Hey gin sorry things are still tough. Is mr gin still having to work like a demon? :( don't worry about catching up properly just nice to see you pop in. Have a large Chelsea bun and a rummy coffee.

I have to say I don't think I'll be reading GF. No disrespect to her o ther many women she has worked wonders for but the people I most respect as parents IRL don't rate her much and it all sounds a bit scary/timetabley to me. I reserve the right to be wrong change my mind in the future.

I am freaking out a bit as Sprout is having a quiet morning. She is normally VERY active first thing and even tho I can feel her moving a bit it is much less often and strong than normal. I am trying to tell myself she's just having a lazy day but it's a bit worrying. Considering going and buying a can of coke to see if that perks her up. Would a bit if call bouncing help do you think?

Nice coat bitey I am really lucky I already had a flared mac in my possession or would have been in the same boat. It's a bit tight across the bust but at least it flares at the bump nicely.

Orchid12 · 08/03/2011 10:01

GF would def have made me feel like a failure, even the baby whisperer did when I tried that! O was much like Mooch - I like Gins very accurate statement "Stop pretending you are in charge woman" - that totally sums up my experience too! (and I am a natural control freak, so I found that hard to deal with at times)

Muse and Gin big hugs to you both. Here's a Brew and Biscuit to help (or do you need Wine?)

Scorps glad to hear the appt was not too bad yesterday. It really won't be that long now until you are snuffling that gorgeous wee man of yours!

Ivegotmrbitey · 08/03/2011 10:33

IT'S PANCAKE DAY!!!!! Sorry to shout but am horrifed that I nearly forgot! Pancakes and eating for two, yipee!

Sorry, as you were Blush

rocketleaf · 08/03/2011 10:40

It's also INTERNATIONAL WOMENS DAY!!! But international women aren't as delicious as pancakes.

Ivegotmrbitey · 08/03/2011 10:49

Unless you drizzle them sugar and lemon?

rocketleaf · 08/03/2011 10:56

Or maple syrup. Not much thats can't be improved by adding maple syrup.

owlbooty · 08/03/2011 10:58

Mmm, sugar and lemon.

I now need pancakes, stat. Stet? What is it they say in ER?

My brain is desperately tired today and I feel like a whale. An achey whale. Pialtes is good but the instructor lady keeps finding new muscles that I have never used and tormenting them. How does she do it? Am not complaining, I don't want to find later down the line that I needed those muscles for labour and they are shite and useless.

Muse that sounds like a perfect use of the day to me. Going out is overrated when there is snuffling to be done Grin

Rocket a double espresso, maybe? Ooh and a nice sugar hit off a cadbury's creme egg. That'll wake her up.

Ivegotmrbitey · 08/03/2011 11:04

rocket I tried a very cold can of coke yesterday in an attempt to wake sleeping beauty. Nada. Still haven't felt anything Sad I am seeing the midwife on Monday so hopefully there will be some doppler action. Am getting a bit Envy of you lucky differs who have heard beating hearts and have wriggling baybees!

medear that is my plan. Either sofa snuffles or, if the weather is good, blanket in the garden snuffles. I cna't wait! Twenty weeks and three days until the due date!

Orchid12 · 08/03/2011 11:06

Pancakes with banana's and chocolate sauce - mmmmmmmmm

Owlies suggestion of a creme egg sounds just the job Rocket. It's for medical purposes so there's no need to feel guilty!

Orchid12 · 08/03/2011 11:08

Bitey If it helps, I didn't feel O until 22 weeks diffed. This time I felt squidge at 16 weeks which I thought was impossible, but midwife says is common in subsequent pregnancies. So, hopefully not too much longer for you Smile

HighPriestessBoo · 08/03/2011 11:28

.

HighPriestessBoo · 08/03/2011 11:30

Sorry Bitey X-post I didn't feel smallboo until after 20 weeks scan either. Hope Monday comes around quickly for you.

rocketleaf · 08/03/2011 11:32

Hmm, medicinal creme eggs you say? Well, if you absolutely insist! Might as well fill my boots now as they might be banned after Thursday.

The sun is out here and I have been dray dreaming about putting the hammock up in the yard and sitting in that all day with mellow tunes and baby snuffling. Bliss!
