Took it upon myself to start a new thread. Everyone's popping right now!

PS: Sorry for the awful rhyme, it was all I could think of Blush

Grin Grin Grin at ledkr - does the pram come with free squeeky-ness when pushed? Thanks alot. Will update when I know if induction actually happens tomorrow or not Confused . Just went for the briskest walk I've managed in months - if that doesnt do it naturally then I officially give up!

MissTFied · 20/02/2011 14:23

Hi everyone.

My baby is here! Little girl (as yet unnamed) arrived Friday 18th Feb, (10 days late) within an hour of arriving at the hospital, so pretty fast. All went perfectly. Was 10cm on arrival, had gas and air, and no tearing. Couldn't have planned it better.
Just out of hospital today and settling baby into home now.

Oh, was 8lb 2oz.

Good luck to all still waiting.

knittakid · 20/02/2011 14:35

Congrats MissT!!! can you send some of your good labour vibes to all of us still waiting?

cler glad you are home and feeding well, all the best with your little boy.

angels I'd be the same, and who knows, the walk might do it! I hoovered the whole house today (under things, the ceiling, all of it!) in an attempt to get things moving, but now am just exhausted...

BTW, is it very very clear when labour starts? are contractions at the begining really clear? I just have this period-type pain that comes and goes and a single spot at the top of my tummy that also comes and goes (not very often and changes thourghout the day), but it's not really painful, so can't decide whether am really brave or really wimp... I guess I'll know when it starts for real?

PinkiePoo · 20/02/2011 15:31

Congrats misst sounds perfect, ha ha i wish mine went so smoothly!!

Good luck to all those still waiting or being induced...you will be fine and be so so happy with the result Grin

Had a visit from midwife today...she thinks Molly is still jaundiced, she was in hospital but her levels were not high enough for phototherapy, so being checked again on wednesday, then if not happy being referred to hospital for prolonged jaundice screening.

Anyone had any experience of this? I am so worried..poor Molly has not had a smooth start to life. Just wish someone would come and go 'yes lovely, everything is perfect and we can leave you alone now'....they just make me worry all these midwives and HV's!!

MissTFied · 20/02/2011 17:05

Thanks for the congrats. Baby feeding as I type.

knittakid those period type pains could be the start. I woke up with those at 2am, and I knew it was the start as I couldn't go back to sleep. I waited a couple of hours then had a long warm bath, and definitely contracted then because the pain started to get 'toe-curling'! I tried to go with all my contractions though, and not tense up and go against them.

Wishing you all the best.

NeedToSleepZZZ · 20/02/2011 18:00

congratulations misst, sounds like you had a lovely birth Smile

knitta i wasn't certain with the early contractions but when they started coming every 20 mins i knew! hope you're on your way now Smile

WaddlingSheep · 20/02/2011 18:17

Hi everyone!

Congratulations to all those of you who have given birth announcements since I last posted! Very happy for you all and not Envy at all, nooo not me Wink.

It feels like there's not many of us pregnant ones left! My original due date by my LMP was today but zilch, nada, nowt! Sad So looks like the sonographer was more accurate in his dates than me. This week is half term so would be a great time for me to give birth as it means my mum and sister are off work and more able to look after DD and it means that DD has time off pre-school to bond with the baby. It would be lovely if I could go into labour tonight or tomorrow! I'm so fed up and uncomfortable. I have pains in my leg and the baby is so low that sitting down is uncomfortable, standing up is uncomfortable...moan, moan, moan, moan, moan!

Good luck for tomorrow Angels! hope all goes well and you have your baby in your arms by tomorrow night Smile.

Hope this is it Knitta! It may well be [crossed fingers].

I hope SBF is holding her baby in her arms as I type!

I'll probably be watching OBEM tomorrow night, sobbing and saying, "it should be meee!" Grin

knittakid · 20/02/2011 18:48

Oh Pinkie, I wish so much you get told everything is fine on Wed. It must be very painful not being able to really do much about it, and they are so tiny! really send you a hugh.

Thanks for replies, I don't think this is it so I might be here in March, on my own...Sad good news is that I am going to stop googling how to start labour and move baby down, etc and just enjoy this last few days (weeks Confused...?) of me being just me and not a mum, so if I complain again, and you remember this post, please refer me back to it! Wink

angels all the best for tomorrow, there have been so many positive induction stories here, just remember them and relax, go with the flow, etc. whatever mama ledkr said Wink and if you find yourself worrying remmmber that beautiful heirloom pram squeaking its way to you.

waddling hope things have now started for you!

PDR · 20/02/2011 19:00

Hi everyone!

My baby arrived last night at 9.34pm, his name is George and he weighed 8lbs 9oz.

I was induced in the end due to blood pressure / vaginal bleeding.

All's well though and we opted for a speedy discharge so we came home at lunchtime today.

I will post later / tomo with a full birth story xxx

WaddlingSheep · 20/02/2011 19:03

Oh congratulations PDR! George is a lovely name Smile hope you're resting well and getting plenty of cuddles.

Don't worry knitta

tadjennyp · 20/02/2011 19:12

Congratulations PDR and MissT, lovely to welcome new arrivals! Good luck to everyone going in for sections and inductions this week!

janedoe25 · 20/02/2011 19:20

Congrats on the new arrivals PDR and MissT

Knitta and waddling can i join u in the hand holding? im due today and not a thing happening! im booked in for induction on 4th march which seems like years away! Come on babies time to come out!

WaddlingSheep · 20/02/2011 19:27
40Weeks · 20/02/2011 19:55

Me too me too

Congrats misst and PDR so lovely to hear your news, gives us all hope! Knitta I think we are dd buddies, so will no doubt be here in march too!

ledkr · 20/02/2011 20:02

PINKIEPOO yes exactly the same here.Delilah wasnt feeding much (due to cleft) so got more and more jaundiced and so went back in overnight for phototherapy.I went in with her and she was led on a light mat overnight next to my bed and i just picked her up for feeds. They sleep thru it cos its nice and warm and it doesnt bother them. The levels were down the next day.She continued to be jaundiced for a few days. Its a vicious circle tho, jaundice makes them sleepy thus slow feeders and not enough feed equals jaundice.Have you been told how to encourage feeds.Change nappy slowly to wake her up tickle feet or cheek,we woke d very 3 hrs and practically force fed her.She has this week moved onto 3oz and shes over 3 wks.
They are just dainty girls. All set for white lodge or Elmhurst. Grin

PinkiePoo · 20/02/2011 20:11

ledkr my thoughts exactly!! Ha ha, i do think to myself, maybe she is just getting well prepared for a dancers life!!

Well Molly's levels weren't high enough for phototherapy while we were in hospital, they were going up but then went down. She is a sleepy girl but still feeds 8 feeds a day and has usually between 2-3 oz and she is 9 days old. But the midwife reckons she is still looking too yellow for a day 9 baby....even though i know her colour has gone down...i keep thinking this is it now, for the rest of my life i am going to be constantly worrying about her...i am gonna be a wreck!!!!!!

Hope Delilah is better now? x

WaddlingSheep · 20/02/2011 22:27

Ozzysocks good luck for your CS tomorrow! I just noticed on that baby names thread that it's tomorrow, hope all goes well Smile. Looking forward to hearing your news!

slowangels1 · 21/02/2011 08:07

congrats misst and PDR Grin and good luck [ozzy]

Thought I might be starting labour (again.....) last night as god BHs (AGAIN) but this time a bit more intense and with odd sensations thrown in. Seems not :( Am just trying to get through to hospital re: induction as they are mucking me around and apparently it might now be today....it might not. I might have to go in and sit in some kind of day unit (which sounds tbh like a waiting room) waiting to see if they will induce me when they can be bothered and then possibly have to do the same again the following day. Great. Phone line tis permenantly engaged at the min... will keep you udated and thanks for well wishes [knees shaking with nerves emoticon]

slowangels1 · 21/02/2011 08:09

when i say might now be today i mean might not . blame the nerves!

slowangels1 · 21/02/2011 08:16

sorry, me again! Just wanted to report before I got going am off to hospital to see if they can 'fit me in' today for induction. If you hear nothing from me by tomorrow then assuming they have squeezed me in, otherwise, I'll probably be here moaning for Britain at sitting around in a hospital all day doing nothing. Am now so Envy of those already with babies!

wigglesrock · 21/02/2011 08:56

slowangels Not sure if I've caught you but good luck for today, you go girl!!!!!!

PDR Congratulations, well done, big relief its all over Grin

PinkiePoo Hope Molly starts to lose some of the jaundice. Anna was born with a bit o jaundice, but the hospital needed the bed so filled in the no jaundice bit of the discharge papers even though me and my mum felt she was a deffo jaundiced. As soon as the community midwife came out she said "oh what did the hospital say about the jaundice?" Hmm The midwife yesterday felt it had gone completely but Anna can be a real eater so think this helped her a lot. Can't believe she's almost a week old Shock

Good luck to everyone today by the way as well as a walk I second the driving down a bumpy road xx

EauRouge · 21/02/2011 08:57

Right, I hope I don't miss anyone out...

Congrats to MissT and PDR, glad your babies arrived safely!

Good luck to ozzy for your CS and angles, I hope you get your induction today and you don't get messed about too much!

I'm still hanging in there Grin Got another MW appointment today and after lots of research, soul-searching and hormonal outbursts Hmm I've decided to decline a sweep and induction unless there is a medical reason and instead ask for expectant management. Last time the MW lied told me that I couldn't have it so this time I will print out the NHS guidelines and make an almighty fuss if they don't stick to them. Wish me luck!

EauRouge · 21/02/2011 08:58

angles? angels, obviously. No caffeine yet this morning! Grin

ILovePonyo · 21/02/2011 09:53

Good luck EauRouge! Good for you - its your baby and birth, don't let them pressure you into anything you don't feel comfortable with :)

Also good luck to slowangels - its sounds so frustrating, really hope they can "fit you in" - they need to make sure they can!

Janedoe the 4th march does seem like ages away, I really hope things start for you much sooner. I went 6 days over and it was long enough!

pinkie and ledkr hope your lo's are doing well now, it all sounds very scary tbh. I've found it hard enough with a healthy dd, I don't know how I'd cope with all that stress as well. Hope you are both ok.

Thought I'd share a bit of my birth story - arrived at hospital at 9.30am, measured 3cms dilated at about 10am, dd was born just 2 hours later no time for even a paracetemol (as offered by the midwife Hmm) So very quick but looking back on it now the best possible way!

How is everyone coping with lack of sleep/general adjustment to this massive change?! If anyone is finding it as difficult as me I'd like to hear about it Blush

Sorry for super long post, know I;ve not been a regular poster on this thread but have found it a massive help to read over the past few months xx

NeedToSleepZZZ · 21/02/2011 10:37

ponyo i'm with you on the difficulty to adjust, it's just so massive isn't it? my gp didn't really help as he wanted a cuddle with ben then told me it's something every woman goes through. he's normally brilliant so think i'll give it a week then go back if i need to but without ben. the sleep thing has improved now as he has a formula feed at 3/4am from his dad!! i'm still so anxious though.

good luck to eaurouge stick to your guns about expectant management, definitely a good idea to take copy of guidelines.

angels everything crossed for you! Smile
