Thanks supersunny
- dd is much better, shes on antibiotics but I can see a definite improvement. Ds now has it...
Moomin Ill second the thank goodness for gaviscon comment, I went through 3 bottles this month!!
jasmine unfortunately thats quite normal, your temperature is a lot higher when pregnant, its part of the reason Im thanking my lucky stars Im not pregnant through a hot summer (as I was with dd!).
My Chief bridesmaid and DH's groomsman "stood" for dd, another bridesmaid and groomsman stood for ds and my cousin and DH's (only) sister will be standing for this one.. just not sure when to ask.. we will definately be having a Christening, over here the norm is to baptise the baby as soon as possible and traditionally around the 6 week mark, which is a huge PITA as its the last thing you really feel like organising at that stage. To be honest, it is sort of expected to have some sort of "do" afterwards too, we'd be a bit miserable if we didnt.
We stretched it out a little with dd and had her baptised at about 7 weeks old (PFB - that turned into a ridicously massive affair), with ds we had more sense and had a smaller do when he was 10 weeks old (as local priest asked me would I mind holding off as he was looking for a baby (that sounds weird) to baptise at the Easter Saturday night mass and ds was the only one born locally at that time), that was really pretty I have to say, the church was in complete darkness and lit my candles everywhere and local children did all the singing and a little show etc.. anyway, the delay was welcome as I had a post partum haeomarrage when he was 8 weeks.
The thing I find annoying is, you are expected to have food and drink (usually a pub -tis Ireland, folks!
) after but when your baby is that tiny the last thing on this earth you want to do is leave him/ her (well in my case anyway) and dont want anyone else babysitting except maybe one of the grandmothers - who are going to be at the Christening. I was hugely stressed over this with dc. This time we're thinking instead of pub, particulary as its a summer baby (our 2 were winter ones!) we'll go to church and have everyone back to ours for big barbeque and a party. That way all the dc can run about and play (we may get a bouncing castle plus dd already has swing set/ slide/ little outdoor house/ trampoline/ bikes and go cart etc) and adults can sit, relax and not have to worry about arranging babysitters etc.. plus we can have our new and small baby in the centre of attention, with us and up in bed (so I can kick back and relax too!!!) - LOL - I've way over thought this, havent I?
