A new thread for all us friendly Dec ladies

We sit and we type,
And we stare at our screens;
We all have to wonder
What this possibly means.
With our mouse we roam,
Through the rooms in a maze;
Looking for something or someone,
As we sit in a daze.
We chat with each other;
We type all our woes;
Small groups we do form,
And gang up on our foes.
We wait for somebody
To type out our name;
We want recognition,
But it is always the same.
We give kisses and hugs,
And sometimes flirt;
In PMs (IMs) we chat deeply,
And reveal why we hurt.
We do form friendships -
Yet why, we don't know;
But some of these friendships
Will flourish and grow.
Why is it on screen,
We can be so bold?
Telling our secrets
That have never been told.
Why is it we share
The thoughts in our mind
With those we can't see,
As though we were blind?
The answer is simple;
It's as clear as a bell.
We all have our problems
And need someone to tell.
We can't tell real people,
But tell someone we must;
So we turn to the computer,
And to those we can trust.
Even though it is crazy,
The truth still remains:
There are Friends Without Faces,
With odd little names.

Afternoon all,

First off BIG HUGS to you Ninah, Sorry your feeling low today {{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}

SH - Ooh baby shower, that sounds so nice and what a way to start maternity leave!!

George - Happy Last Day!!! I hope you are showered with gifts and special treatment!!

DQ - MMmmmmm Nutella!!! Yummy.......Me and a colleague just visited our Somerfield which is closing down and spent a fortune on bargins in the chocolate isle.....we got a touch carried away but you can NEVER have enough chocolate!!!

Scully - Have a lovely weekend.

Well I have calmed down since yesterday but that was with the help of my SDD who came home from school with head lice, so I spent the evening treating all of us but mainly her as she DEF has them. Spent hours combing them out of her hair, but she sat there so good in front of the TV with a bag of sweets. Bless her she stood crying coz she thought she was going to get told off for having them. Am in for the same again tonight which SDD isn't going to be pleased about. Have heard that vinegar is good for them so am going to use that tonight on her to make sure I got them all.

Me and DP can't stop scratching, I'm sure its all in our heads coz we didn't itch before she came home with them!

sweetheart · 14/10/2005 14:11

kangel - my friend is a hiardresser and she always says the best thing for nits is to cover the hair in conditioner and use a fine toothed comb to brush them out. Apparently the conditioner means that they eggs cannot stick tot he hairs or something like that!

Is everyone having a fun afternoon? I'm off at 3 - I think I'm going to treat myself to some baby shopping!

OP posts:
kangel · 14/10/2005 14:20

Thanks SH - I'll try that too, its all very well treating her but she's just going to pick it up again so will try and prevent her from getting them. There is a spray you can get too that has tea tree oil in and thats meant to repell them. We have told her school so hopefully they will act on it. Just hope I haven't picked them up!

You lucky thing going home early on a Friday, they'd never let us do that here.

ei23monster · 14/10/2005 14:38

hey ladies!
how are we all today?
poor you kangel for havin the nits to deal with! i remember when my sister brought them home with her one day after school and it took us weeks to be rid of them properly! good luck with the trial and error tho we used tea tree shampoo from the avon which seemed to keep us all nit free after that horrible couple of weeks!
yay for your last day george youll be able to sit round the house in ya jammies all day now like i do most of the time!!
whats everyone up to tonight? i think its sittin in for me- i may even persuade dp to let me prder our shoppin online so we dont have to do that this weekend!! gosh the wonders of modern technology!!

sweetheart · 14/10/2005 14:50

scully · 14/10/2005 17:15

george32 · 14/10/2005 18:35

It's over. Yes I've finished work for at least a year! I am now a SAHM without the kids - how lucky am I!!

Sounds like a nice relaxed night for everyone. Well hopefully for you too DQ, if you can stay clear of the in-laws!

Nothing busy for me either. Totally knackered from lack of sleep again. DP didn't help by coming home at 3.00am with no key - grrr. I think a slump in front of the telly night before I doze off at 8.00pm

bonkerz · 16/10/2005 19:12

thank you all for the thoughts. Im doing OK. Have had a bad day today, full of varieing emotions which i suppose are normal. Spent last night having the worst leg cramps ever in both legs and i think it may be because i havent been eating properly. Have lost weight too so am really gonna try to eat for my baby. Dh has gone out to buy bananas and milk to try and tempt me!
Have consultant on Tuesday so am gonna talk to her and ask if i can take a supplement to help and see if i can tranfer to Basingtoke hospital to be checked regularly till after funeral etc because i dont want to panic about my baby. My sister said i could have daily checks on BP etc to help me relax.
Not sure what to write now so will go and just say thankyou again.

Need an idiots guide to what you lot have been up to the past week please! ANYONE!!!

dramaqueen72 · 16/10/2005 20:07

bonkerz, good to hear from you again. keepi hanging in there. lots of lovely messages for you on the other thread, to let you know people are thinking of you and understanding hwo you must be feeling. take it easy for that bump!!
youre not far from me right, being in basingstoke
i cant remember a bloody thing from last week really......... brain absolute mush
sweetheart had a scan -and is more than sure its a boy. george finished work for her maternity leave -what a lucky girl!.....um.....I have been feeling pretty rough, achey low bump which scares me that i may go EARLY. but i think its prob me just being a wuss. I have a scan this week
nemo got new carpets and new sofas(!) (so its all round to hers this christmas I think....)
and thats its for my brain, cant remember anything much can I? maybe someone else can do better at filling you in.

bonkerz · 16/10/2005 22:36

Have managed to eat something and had some milk and a banana so hoping baby feels better now.
Technically i have decided to stop work too. I will have to be with my family for the next 2 weeks and then will only have 2 weeks more to work before my last day anyway. My childminder friends are taking my mindees earlier and rather than disrupt them again my mates have offered me some work helping them in return for a small wage which will definately help. So i suppose im too no longer at work!
Thanks for the update DQ. Am off tro see if i can sleep now.

kangel · 17/10/2005 09:16

Just logged on since Friday and wanted to give big hugs to you Bonkerz!!! Am thinking of you!!

Morning everyone....

Have been on Lice duty all weekend, used vinigar and tea tree on her and it seems to have done the trick - finally!! I on the otherhand have had an allergic reaction to the mousse that we all used as a precaution and my head in on fire and I have patches of rashes all over my body, accross my bump shoulders legs and arms. So itchy!!!!!!!!!!! Went to the chemist where the Pharmasist gave me a right telling off for useing the stuff. SDD's Mum then turns round today when we dropped her off and says shes keeping her off school today coz its not fair on other people!! Errrrr I've delt with it, I've got rid of them and I'm the one left with the reaction that I can't do anything about - its a bit late for whats not fair! Thats after her reaction when we told her that SDD had them of 'errrr I don't want them!!'

Ok have got that off my chest now but feel so angry over the whole situation!

george32 · 17/10/2005 09:58

Morning everyone.
Bonkerz, I'm glad you have managed to get something inside you. I'm pleased that you have finished work now too. I think it would just be too much stress on top of everything. You must be going through a dreadful time. Don't feel like you have to be strong, cry when you need to. It's all part of your body trying to grieve. {{{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}} to you.

Kangel, that is so naughty using the mousse. Have you been to your GP for a check? They might be able to give you something to stop the itching. No more getting rid of lice, leave it to your SDDs mother, it's her turn if there is a next time!

DQ, what day is your scan?

Had a lovely lie in today. What a lovely thought, Monday & no work for me!!
Busy week of visiting people & shopping for me. I suddenly seem to have so much time to get everything ready, it's lovely after my panicking of the last few weeks.

george32 · 17/10/2005 09:58

And, I'm still in my PJs!!!
